I went to Ikeja computer village to get the phantom 5 but I was surprised at the outrageous prices those vendors were selling it. It wasn't available in most shops, some even said they now sell at N120, 000.

My question is the dollars rise affecting only the price of phantom 5 or the astronomical increase in price was due to scarcity? Even online stores were selling above 100k

I don't think there is update for this phone. Gionee lagging behind when it comes to updates

While Tecno Mobile has only just posted an image teasing the upcoming device, a Tecno Fan and probably aninsider has gone ahead to post Photos and Few Specifications of the device which he allege to be the Tecno Boom J8.

One thing i doubt here is the price. The price can't be below 30k considering the specs above.

I am also having issues with the Tecno Phantom Z mini I bought last year October 27th.....I can never advice my enemy to buy Tecno Phones.....My 3rd Tecno phone - from L3 to J5 to Phantom Z mini....

TECNO phones are crap. I'm using phantom z currently and I got c8 for my mum. Believe me, the phones have no quality. I got gionee m5 for my dad and I wish I had gotten it for myself instead of phantom z, shaa, m5 wasn't launched when I got phantom z.

My advice to u, don't go for the TECNO devices, they are overhyped and lacks quality. I'm speaking from experience. If you have the opportunity of having either phantom z or 5 or c8 close by with gionee m5, you will see the difference.

correct smartphone user that have world recognision like htc, samsung, lg, sony, iphone, huawei, lenovo, even xiaomi, gionee. are there not making a damm noise or over exaggerating there phones.
have went to slot often time to check out this overhyping phantom5 i don't se any interesting part of this phone, selling at 80k except it fingerprint sensor which is included, though phantom5 is nice improvement for tecno mobile but does not worth it selling price.
i can't even compare it to my formal gionee e7 of 2013 buttery smooth phone, baddest camera, crystal clear disply, how much did i bought it, just 38k with monster spec, except it non inclusion of fingerprint sensor.
though am now using outdated nokia e63 oo, but enough of all this overhyping phantom 5.
there is nothing special about this phone to spend 80k on
