According to promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, there was a near brawl last month between IBF, IBO, WBA heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and retired former beltholder Vitali Klitschko – in the aftermath of younger brother Wladimir Klitschko’s stoppage loss to Joshua before a record crowd of 90,000 at Wembley.

Apparently, Joshua and Vitali had words when Joshua came over to speak to Wladimir when the contest concluded.

“Once he’s in that mode, he’s a nasty, horrible man in that ring. Outside the ring, one of the nicest guys you could meet, inside it – horrible. He and Vitali nearly came to blows after the fight. He went over to Wladimir and thanked him and Josh was tired and he went on and on, ‘seriously man,’ talking about the fight, and Vitali was like ‘alright, alright’ [Hearn stretches his arm across as if pushing someone away] and Josh was like ‘f*** you.’ But Vitali can handle himself, he’s not exactly a pushover,” Hearn told Boxing News.

The woman who Barack Obama proposed to – twice - before he met Michelle was seen quietly getting on with academic life this week after revelations about their relationship emerged in a new presidential biography.

Sheila Miyoshi Jager, 53, appeared in good spirits as she walked with a female friend on the campus of liberal arts Oberlin College where she is a professor of East Asian studies.

Jager revealed she was the former president’s first love in Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama by Pulitzer prize-winning biographer David J. Garrow.

She shared secrets of their relationship including that she continued to see Obama on and off for at least a year after he met the First Lady.

‘I always felt bad about it,’ Jager told Garrow.
Her husband, Jiyul Kim, said that his wife did not wish to speak about the book when contacted by DailyMail.com at their home.

Jager, who is of Dutch and Japanese descent, received her Ph.D in anthropology from the University of Chicago, where she was studying in the mid '80's when she met Barack Obama, then a community organizer.

The couple dated for a couple of years and met each other’s families before splitting up.

Yet Jager was almost entirely omitted from Obama's own biography, Dreams of My Father, where she was simply combined with his other white exes into one character.

According to Rising Star she played a huge role in Obama's formative years. So much so that even after Barack met his wife-to-be Michelle, he kept seeing Jager on and off for at least a year, the book claims.

The couple were very much in love in the late-1980s when they were living together in Chicago, according to Jager, who described them as being 'an island unto ourselves.'
They even had a cat together named Max.

Their relationship quickly progressed and in the winter of 1986, while visiting Sheila's parents, Barack popped the question, Jager told Garrow.

But Jager's parents were concerned that she was too young - Jager was 23 and Obama was 25 - and she had to turn down his proposal.

They remained together, and Jager began to realize her then-boyfriend's 'deep-seated need to be loved and admired.'

Jager told Garrow that Obama became 'so very ambitious very suddenly.'

'I remember very clearly when this transformation happened, and I remember very specifically that by 1987, about a year into our relationship, he already had his sights on becoming president.'

But Obama believed he needed to 'fully identify as African American' to fulfill his political ambitions - and believed that having a non-black spouse could damage his prospects, according to the book.

This reportedly put pressure on Obama's relationship with Jager who is of Dutch and Japanese heritage.
By the time he was getting set to leave for Harvard Law School, their relationship was rocky.

But Obama was not ready to give up on Jager, and proposed to her for a second time - asking her to join him in Harvard.

Again Jager turned him down.

She believed that his proposal was 'out of a sense of desperation over our eventual parting and not in any real faith in our future.'

According to Garrow, Obama made emotional judgments on political grounds. A close mutual friend of the couple recalls Obama being concerned about running for president with a white wife.

Friends recall a summer weekend trip to Madison, Wisconsin around this time when there was 'unusual tension' between the couple.

Related one of their friends: 'it's the summer...these houses are old. You'd die if you closed the windows.

'They went back and forth, having sex, screaming yelling, having sex, screaming yelling.'

Sheila could be heard yelling: 'That's wrong! That's wrong! That's not a reason.'

Obama cared for her, Garrow writes, 'yet he felt trapped between the woman he loved and the destiny he knew was his.'

'Barack's political destiny meant that he and Sheila could not have a long-tern future together, no matter how deeply they loved each other.'

But she refused to accept his rationale, writes the author, the fact that it was ultimately her race that would prevent them from being together.

In the days before Barack left Chiacgo for Harvard the couple joined friends Jerry and Kellman for a farewell dinner. They had a question for their friends.

'Could you please keep the cat?,' they asked.

The Kellmans agreed to give Max a home, Sheila explaining to the author, 'Barack was not sad to give Max away.'

The book claims that Barack kept on seeing Jager for the first year he was dating Michelle - in the 1990-91 academic year- but said it stopped after the couple married in 1992.
It is also possible that Obama cheated on Jager with an Hispanic single mother of three he had met through his work as a 'community organizer'.Garrow says that Mary Ellen 'Lena' Montes became an 'intimate friend'.

She was a divorced young mother who had become a prominent activist in Chicago.

In the August after Obama first moved to Chicago, Jager visited her family and he spent time with Lena.

'Obama would remember some intense making-out,' Garrow writes, 'while Lena explained: 'I'm a passionate person.''

After he moved in with Jager, Lena had the impression that it was 'because of convenience'.

Indeed, her existence may have precipitated his split from Jager, as Garrow recalls how after an argument, she found Obama's journal under his bed and looked through it.

She was upset about 'someone' in the journal, Lena recalled later - although Lena did not know if she was the person Jager was upset about.

'I just remember him saying that she was leaving... because of this journal,' Lena said.
Regardless of whether he was faithful to Jager, Obama went to law school then met Michelle. The couple quickly fell for each other and began dating.

But Garrow claims that Jager and Barack continued to see each other on and off after she arrived at Harvard for a teaching fellowship. Garrow describes Obamas as having 'two powerful, overlapping relationships'.

'I always felt bad about it,' Jager said.

After Barack and Michelle married in 1992, Jager says that they stopped seeing each other and their contact was limited to the odd letter or phone call.

Sheila had met a 33-year-old Korean-American graduate student and U.S. Army office Jiyul Kim from Boston.

'Sheila's relationship with Jiyul quickly began to blossom just as Barack's final weeks of law school approached,' Garrow writes.
Sheila told the author, 'As much as I loved him [Barack] I was relieved when our paths finally parted.'

She added, 'I traveled to some really dark places during that period of my life.'

Jager is a sought-after expert on the Korean peninsula and has written a number of books on the subject.

The professor has lived quietly in the pretty college town of Oberlin, Ohio for the past 20 years.

She is married to retired Army veteran, Col. Jiyul Kim, who is also a professor at Oberlin specializing in military history in East Asia and U.S. foreign policy.

Kim, 59, served in the U.S. Army for three decades and was on duty at the Pentagon during 9/11.

The couple have three children. Their eldest son, Isaac, 23, graduated from West Point military academy last year, according to social media, while their daughter, Hannah, 21, attends Oberlin College.

The Obamas have not publicly responded to the claims in the book.

Anthony Joshua today said his son 'loves my shiner' as he was re-united with 18-month-old JJ after months of gruelling training and an even tougher fight.

The boxer's mother Yeta Odusanya was today seen returning JJ to the ex-council house in north London where Joshua still lives with her.

After the bout against Wladimir Klitschko that that won him both a £15million purse and a fearsome black eye, the humble father spent the day with his mother and JJ.

He has now vowed to become the richest boxer ever, overshadowing Floyd Mayweather's £540million fortune, after becoming a household name overnight.

But speaking after the legendary win, he said his first priority will be to finally settle a £120 bill at his local launderette, where he still washes his clothes.

Asked if he was ready to meet his adoring fans there, Joshua said: 'First off, I’ve got to pay my bill. It’s very big,' reports The Sun.

'Am I ready for that? I'm a people person,' added Joshua, who has overnight become a household name after a dramatic fight that won him fans all over Britain.

Joshua said he hoped to become a millionaire when he first started boxing, but he now hopes to become boxing's first billionaire.

His promoter, Eddie Hearne, said that Joshua will become bigger than David Beckham, with huge public appeal that goes beyond boxing.

'His commercial potential outside the ring is huge, way beyond Beckham and the world’s top footballers. He has a much bigger cross-over in terms of potential,' he said.

The 27-year-old boxer spent yesterday reconnecting with his mother Yeta Odusanya, 51, and his baby son after several gruelling months of training away.

Speaking following Saturday night's showdown at Wembley in front of 90,000 people, Joshua admitted his mother had said she was proud of his triumph.

She babysat during the fight and was seen bringing the 18-month-old home to see his father today.

The father-of-one still lives with Yeta and their dog Roxy in a former council flat in north London, which he bought her for £174,000 after turning professional in 2013.

Discussing speaking to his mother prior to the fight, Joshua said: 'We spoke on Facetime and she said she was proud of me.'

Then for the benefit of the assembled media he played a tape of her shouting 'Wow' and putting on his son JJ to gurgle down the phone.

For the past decade, Joshua has been in an on/off relationship with he mother of his child, former school friend Nicole Osbourne, who he bought a £500,000 flat not far from his home.

On the first night of a play at an exclusive French Catholic school in Amiens, there was one obvious star. He was Emmanuel Macron, the son of two respected local doctors, and the 16-year-old was adored by staff for his work and intelligence.

One teacher beaming with admiration that night was a glamorous 39-year-old called Brigitte Auziere. Married with three children, she taught at Lycee La Providence, 90 miles north of Paris, where pupils can expect the finest pastoral care.

The teacher and her pupil had collaborated on the play — the Art Of Comedy, by the Italian writer Eduardo De Filippo — every Friday night for months at the school, adapting it for all the students who wanted parts.

They would work on the script late into the night. Neither had far to go home — the teacher to a house she shared nearby with her banker husband and children, while the pupil walked the short distance to his parents’ home in an affluent part of Amiens.

It was only when the play was finally staged, in front of proud parents and family, that a glimpse emerged of what was the start of a love affair between Emmanuel and Brigitte.

For, as the audience clapped before the curtain came down, Emmanuel took a bow and kissed the watching Madame Auziere on each cheek as she smiled with obvious delight. ‘Every Friday I went to write a play with her for several hours,’ the schoolboy later revealed. ‘We spoke about everything. And I discovered we had always known one another.’

As for Brigitte, whose eldest daughter Laurence — incredibly — was in the same class as Emmanuel, she was captivated by his ‘exceptional intelligence’. She felt he was so gifted that it was as though ‘I was working with Mozart’.

She even quizzed her daughter about her classmate, who told her he was bookish but engaging and charming, a man who ‘knows everything’ and seemed much older than his years.



The first sign other pupils had that the relationship was more than academic came during the play’s closing party at a local restaurant, with one contemporary watching as the pair shared what he described, cryptically, as a ‘tender moment’.

Almost 24 years later, this unlikely romance made global headlines this week when pupil and teacher, now husband and wife, celebrated victory in the first round of the French elections.

Now, Macron faces a head-to-head contest for the Presidency with Marine Le Pen, who was — until she resigned from the party a few days ago — leader of the far-right Front National.

On a stage in Paris on Sunday night, Macron turned to thank his wife, who has given up teaching to help his campaign, and told her: ‘Always there, and what’s more, without whom I wouldn’t be me.’

After that speech, he and Brigitte headed for the historic La Rotonde restaurant, where they celebrated until the early hours of Monday.
There, the oddity of his family was evident as the 39-year-old and his wife, now 64, hosted a party for close supporters, with champagne and oysters served on ice. With them under the Art Deco chandeliers were Brigitte’s three children, one of whom, son Sebastien, is two years older than his stepfather.

Intriguingly, also present at the party was Macron’s mother, Francoise, 67, who is only three years older than her daughter-in-law, and who was, understandably, bitterly opposed to her son’s relationship with his teacher at the start.

Indeed, the prospect of such a close gathering seemed unlikely when the schoolboy and his teacher began their unconventional romance.

Local gossip about the ‘close friendship’ between Emmanuel and the teacher had spread after they were spotted walking home from school together after working on the play.

Brigitte was always quick to praise Emmanuel. ‘She was captivated by his writing talents,’ one friend said. ‘He wrote poems and she read them out in front of everyone.’

Macron’s parents — a neurologist and a paediatrician — were not happy on hearing these rumours.
Hoping it was just a passing teenage obsession, they decided to bide their time. But their suspicions intensified when Emmanuel told them he was going to see a friend in Amiens — only for them to discover he had spent time with Mme Auziere again.

They hoped he would start a relationship with a girl of their acquaintance who was his own age, whose parents were also doctors and friends with the Macrons, and even invited her over to the family home, where Emmanuel lived with his younger brother and sister.

‘I told myself it would pass,’ his father Jean-Michel Macron told the respected journalist Anne Fulda, who has just published an explosive new French book about the affair — Emmanuel Macron: Such A Perfect Young Man. ‘Emmanuel did, after all, have studies to finish — to not ruin everything.’

But he showed no interest in the girl to whom they had introduced him, or in any of his teenage contemporaries.

Soon afterwards, Emannuel’s mother raised with her son the delicate issue of his relationship, concerned that he would never be able to have children due to the age gap. ‘We couldn’t believe it,’ she told one interviewer. ‘What is clear is that when Emmanuel met Brigitte we couldn’t just say: “That’s great.” ’

According to the new book, Macron’s parents decided to confront Brigitte and tell her to end the affair — or at least wait until their son was 18.

At this uncomfortable meeting in Amiens, Francoise told Brigitte: ‘You already have your life, [but] he won’t have children.’ In tears, the teacher — the youngest daughter of a wealthy, respected family of chocolatiers and confectioners — sobbed that she ‘could not promise anything’.

At their wits’ end, and concerned that the relationship would ruin his schooling, Emmanuel’s parents took drastic action — and effectively sent their son away to keep he and Brigitte apart.
The boy’s father telephoned the headmistress of a prestigious school in Paris called the Henry IV, and explained that he had a matter of great sensitivity to discuss, which would require absolute discretion.

According to sources at the school, the headmistress agreed that Emmanuel could finish his schooling there and prepare for university in Paris, where he was to live in a flat owned by his family. At the same time, Mr and Mrs Macron decided not to complain to the police about the teacher’s relationship with their son. The age of consent is 15, but 18 for those involved with teachers or carers.

In making this decision they were perhaps mindful of the story of an infamous affair between a teacher and her pupil.

Gabrielle Russier, 32, a professor of literature, was jailed in December 1968 for one year after she began an affair with a 16-year-old pupil called Christian Rossi, and Mr Rossi’s parents went to the police when they found out about the relationship.

In 1969, out of jail and awaiting further legal proceedings, Mrs Russier gassed herself. ‘We loved each other,’ a tearful Mr Rossi said. ‘They put her in prison, she killed herself. Passion isn’t lucid.’

Yet the schemes of Emmanuel Macron’s parents were to end in failure — and the romance continued after the teenager moved to Paris. He would take the 90-minute train home to Amiens each weekend, and tried to arrange secretly to meet Brigitte when she wasn’t looking after her three young children.
Andre-Louis Auziere, Brigitte’s husband, worked long hours for an international French bank. Brigitte and Emmanuel would meet at one of her wealthy family’s homes, and the two were once discovered chatting round a swimming pool by Brigitte’s brother. Emmanuel’s new friends soon heard that he had been involved in a ‘scandal’. Cecile Falcon, 39, studied with him in Paris. ‘I knew [about the affair] from when he moved to Paris,’ she told the Mail.

‘We knew he was with his teacher but we didn’t know where [the school was], her age, her name. He was very discreet.’

Emmanuel’s troubles were nothing compared to those of Brigitte. The indulged youngest of six, she was born in 1953 into the Trogneux family, who for six generations had run their confectionery business in northern France.

They made their fortune selling macaroons; sweet treats made from almonds, honey and egg whites. Her father was a pillar of respectability, a regular churchgoer and a member of the local rotary club. Young Brigitte was a fun-loving, artistic child, who privately dreaded the thought of working in the family firm and spending her life selling macaroons. Instead, she loved literature and the arts.

During a trip to the seaside town of Le Touquet, where her family had a holiday home, she met an exotic man called Andre-Louis Auziere, who was born in Cameroon, the French colony in west Africa, where his father worked as a diplomat.

He had returned to France to study and had started what would prove a successful career in banking, which would later see him hold senior executive positions. At 23, he was two years older than Brigitte, who was still a student.

Brigitte, 21, and Andre married in the local town hall in 1974, the same year that Emmanuel’s parents were married, and by the time she was 26 she had three young children. She wanted for nothing financially.
By all accounts, family life was pleasant enough. In 1984, the couple moved with their children from Amiens to Strasbourg, when Andre got a promotion. They returned to Amiens in 1991, when, with the children now at school, Brigitte began teaching at La Providence.

By the time Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron had become emotionally entangled, and he had been dispatched to Paris, attempts to keep the news of the friendship quiet had proven impossible.

According to one account, Brigitte’s elder brother, who had taken over the family business after their father died, furiously warned her off.

What her husband made of this is not clear: to this day, he has never spoken about the events that tore his family apart. All that is known is that Brigitte and Andre were formally divorced in 2006.

Sylvie Bommel, a French journalist who has carried out investigations into the Macrons, says that Brigitte’s former husband was so scarred by the break-up that he did not even attend his mother’s funeral in case his ex-wife came.
‘He’s a man who no longer wants to be found after what happened,’ she told me. ‘It must have been a real shock to see your wife leave for someone very young.’

Brigitte moved to Paris before the divorce was finalised, where she took up a teaching position at another Catholic school, meaning she could be closer to Macron.

‘I think Brigitte left to escape the gossip,’ said one former colleague. ‘Both Macron and Brigitte leaving was the best solution.

By the time their son was 18, Emmanuel’s mother and father had given up trying to persuade him to find someone his age.

Indeed, less than 21 months after her divorce was granted, Brigitte wore a short white dress to wed for a second time at the same town hall in Le Touquet where she married her first husband. She was 54; her groom, 29.

After their wedding in 2007, the couple — who call each other by the pet names ‘Manu’ and ‘Bibi’ — now live in Paris. After a career as a banker and an economic minister, Macron announced his intention only last year to stand as a candidate in the elections.

Surprisingly, Macron is on good terms with his ‘step-children’, including Laurence, the girl with whom he shared a class. Even more galling for ex-husband Andre-Louis Auziere, his younger daughter Tiphaine, 30, now works as a campaign manager for Macron. She says ‘they get on so beautifully their age difference has never caused me a problem’.

So will any of this peculiarly French affair damage the candidate described as the country’s equivalent of Tony Blair? There has always been a laissez-faire approach here to the sexual antics of politicians.
Francois Hollande, the current President, was separated from his partner, Valerie Trierweiler, after being caught having an affair with an actress 18 years his junior, while his predecessor Nicolas Sarkozy famously ditched his wife to marry model-turned-singer Carla Bruni.

Emmanuel Macron’s English teacher from his school in Paris, Christian Monjou, who remains a mentor, believes his decision to continue the relationship with Brigitte made him the man he is today. ‘He wanted to prove to his parents that he had made the right choices,’ he told the Mail. ‘And he’s now proving to his wife that she made the correct decision to leave her husband.’

But M. Monjou warned that Emmanuel must not appear to voters as a ‘mummy’s boy’; after his victory speech he invited Brigitte on stage, only for someone to say: ‘You would have never seen [Charles] de Gaulle do that.’

Certainly, Macron has no regrets about his teenaged coup de foudre. In a social media exchange with voters this week, he was asked by a student for his advice after ‘falling for my criminal law teacher’.

With a smug smile, Macron responded: ‘You need to know if it is mutual. If that is the case, go for it! No taboos!’ Time will soon tell if the people of France agree.

Tennis superstar Serena Williams will be a mother in four months time.

She announced today that she is five months pregnant in a photo of herself in a swimsuit showing off her baby bump.

“20 weeks,” she captioned the image on Snapchat Wednesday after posting a series of photos from a seemingly tropical getaway.

The implication of the good news is that the star was a few weeks pregnant when she beat her sister Venus to win the Australian Open back in January.

Fans were quick to praise the athlete for her superstar abilities and were mind-blown to learn she competed while a few weeks pregnant, the New York Daily News reported.

“Serena Williams won the Australian Open while she was pregnant. That woman is amazing,” one Twitter user wrote.

Another added, “Serena Williams was pregnant when she won the Australia Open in Jan. but I cant even get out of bed when I’m on my period. Sis is superwoman.”

US Open organisers wished the star a big congratulations shortly after she revealed the news with a celebratory tweet.

“Serena Williams will have a new pride & joy to hug and call her own soon! Congratulations on the exciting baby announcement!” the post read.

Williams, 35, is engaged to Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian, 33. The US Open champion documented her whirlwind engagement on Reddit back in December with a poem.

Ohanian popped the question during an impromptu trip to Italy. He proposed at a restaurant in Rome at the same table where the duo first met on a lunch outing in 2015.

“This time he made it not by chance /But by choice / Down on one knee / He said 4 words And /isaidyes,” she wrote at the time, using the classic Reddit terms.

Williams and the techie began dating in October 2015 and didn’t discuss their relationship publicly until the engagement news bombshell.

An eight-month-old obese baby in Punjab, India has baffled her parents and doctors by her extreme weight gain and insatiable appetite for food.

Chahat Kumar was born with an average weight but inexplicably started gaining in size at the age of four months.

Now, at just eight months old, she weighs a whooping 17kg, the same weight as an average four-year-old child.
Chahat's father, 23-year-old Suraj Kumar, spoke to reporters and said: “When Chahat was born, she was completely normal. Then, slowly we saw that her weight was shooting up. Her weight is increasing day by day.”

Chahat's mother, 21-year-old Reena Kumar, said Chahat eats four times the amount of food a normal-sized baby her age eats, adding: “She doesn’t eat like a normal kid. She keeps eating all the time. If we don’t give her anything to eat, she starts crying."

Chahat's parents deny doing anything unusual to cause her weight gain. Suraj said: “It’s not our fault. God gave this condition to her. It’s not in our hands. I feel bad when some people laugh at her for being fat.” The add that their dream is for Chahat to have a normal childhood.

Doctors have been unable to explain Chahat's insatiable appetite. To make matters worse, the fat her body has accumulated has hardened her skin and made it difficult for them to get her blood samples.

Furthermore, her extreme weight is now causing more problems for her, such as difficulties in breathing and eating. The family's doctor, Vasudev Sharma, recommended that they take Chahat to a specialized pediatrician at the Civil Hospital in Amritsar but the parents lack funds.

TRAGEDY struck on Tuesday when one Dairu Murtala, a Dangote truck driver ran over three men killing them instantly at Arepo, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Murtala was said to be driving against the traffic when he crushed the victims, who were about to cross the expressway into the Arepo community. It was learnt that despite the incident, the driver did not stop, but was chased by some motorcyclists to Magboro, a neighbouring community, where he was apprehended.

He was reportedly beaten to a pulp before the intervention of policemen from the Warewa division, who rescued him from the mob. Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps reportedly carried away the remains of the deceased, who were said to be workers of a company in Arepo. A witness, who did not identify himself, said the accident happened around 8 a.m.

He said, “We were all at the bus stop when the truck sped past us. The driver did not even hoot. “The three men, who wanted to cross the expressway, were only looking at a side of the road. They didn’t know that the truck was fast approaching from the other side. The truck crushed them and they died on the spot. It even dragged the body of a man for some distance. Another pedestrian, who saw the truck approaching, carried a lady that could have also been hit, off the road. The girl wanted to protest the action until she saw what had happened.”

A motorcycle rider, identified as Musa, told our correspondent that the driver did not stop the truck after the incident. “My friends and I chased him to Magboro. When we caught up with him, we beat him up. We were hitting him when the police came to his rescue,” he added.

Our correspondent observed bloodstains on the expressway where the remains of the victims were picked by traffic officers. A community leader in Arepo, Victor Olajide, appealed to the Federal Government to make provision for a pedestrian bridge at the junction, saying a lot of people had died while attempting to cross the expressway. He said, “This has become a regular thing. I believe the way out is for pedestrian bridges to be constructed at the Arepo, Ibafo, Magboro and Mowe ends of the expressway, where there are settlements, to forestall avoidable loss of lives.” The FRSC Ogun State Sector Commander, Clement Oladele, confirmed the incident. He said, “The accident occurred at the Ibadan to Lagos route around 8.00am. The crash involved an ash coloured Dangote truck, with number plate DTF 118 XA.

The truck driver hit three persons, all males, and killed them on the spot. The crash was caused by dangerous driving and route violation. The police apprehended the driver and towed away the truck, while an FRSC ambulance conveyed the corpses to the Sagamu Hospital mortuary.”

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the arrest of the driver, adding that investigations were on.

KATSINA—The seven-month-old baby girl raped by her 57-year-old step-father, Magaji Sale, in Katsina State, has been reported dead.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Usman Abdullahi, who confirmed the death of the baby, said the culprit will now be charged with culpable homicide.

It would be recalled that the baby was in critical condition after the incident and admitted in the Turai Yar’Adua Hospital.

The incident was said to have occurred in Mamadi village, Jikamshi Local Government Area of the state.

The mother of the baby, Zeenat Muntari, raised alarm when she noticed blood stains on the private part of her baby and later on her husband’s pair of trousers.

On interrogation at the police station, Magaji confessed to have raped the baby, saying he did it because he had a dream in which he was told that he will stop womanising if he raped the baby.

Nivea has withdrawn an advert that was branded racist on social media and shared by right wing groups.

The German skincare maker's ad for a deodorant included a picture of a woman and the slogan "white is purity."

It was posted on Nivea's Middle East Facebook page with the caption: "Keep it clean, keep it bright. Don't let anything ruin it."

The post sparked a backlash, with social media users accusing Nivea of being racist and insensitive.

"Come on Nivea. This is so racist that I do not even know where to begin. Speechless. In future, refer to clothes or products, not colors," Scott Bellows posted on Twitter.

Beiersdorf (BDRFF), the Hamburg-based company that owns Nivea, Eucerin and other skincare brands, said it decided to take the advert down due to what it called "concerns about ethnic discrimination."

"We are deeply sorry to anyone who may take offense to this specific post. After realizing that the post is misleading, it was immediately withdrawn," the company said in a statement.

The advert was also shared by accounts that have previously posted content promoting white supremacist views.


This is not the first time Nivea has run into trouble with its advertizing. Back in 2011, it apologized for an advert that featured what appeared to be a mask of a black man with an Afro hair style and a beard. The copy accompanying the ad read, "Look Like You Give a Damn. Re-civilize Yourself."

It's not alone, either.

Pepsi (PEP) was accused Tuesday of appropriating the Black Lives Matter movement to sell soda, after it ran an add that showed model Kendall Jenner offering a Pepsi to a police officer during a protest.

Chinese detergent company Qiaobi apologized last year for an advertisement that showed a light-skinned Chinese woman throwing a black man covered in paint into a washing machine.

After undergoing a wash, the man emerged as a light-skinned, clean Chinese man.

Two nail bombs on the metro in St Petersburg ripped through train carriages killing at least 10 people today.

The incident occurred at two separate locations including Sennaya Ploshchad train station leaving at least 50 injured including children.

Eight ambulances are said to be at the scene and there are pictured emerging of bodies strewn across the platform.


The Life News website showed pictures of blown-out train doors and several injured people on the station platform.

Metro bosses said there were reports of a blast – possibly from an improvised explosive device – inside a train.

Vladimir Putin was in St Petersburg today for talks on Qatar and has been informed.

Sennaya Ploshad is one of the Russian city’s main metro stations, where three underground lines connect.

It is beneath the large ‘Sennaya’ shopping centre as well as the offices of Gazprombank, Russia’s third largest bank.
