The leadership of Organized Labour must not sleep. If the government can not meet their demands, then salaries and allowances of Ministers and Senators should be reviewed downwards to save the country from collapse.

Country is finished. If this can happen to a federal senator just imagine what would happen to the innocent masses. All these unnecessary show of force and flexing of power if fruitless. Let's be honest.
Nigeria can't afford to fight two wars on different fronts. These boys should be in the north securing the country every single political problem in the south is something dialogue and slight change of policies can handle.

The soldiers were right. The Federal Lawmaker should also feel the pains our troops are passing through on a daily basis to protect us. What was the Senator's response following the unfortunate killing of the soldiers. Let him return home and address his people on the need to embrace peace, diplomacy and dialogue in addressing their grievances.

Metuh should focus on his new business and allow politicians to discuss politics. The same people who received public funds without accounting for same should not be seen or heard in the court of public opinion.

Funny analysis from Doyin Okupe. Doyin should deliver his Polling Unit, Ward, Local Government and State for Peter Obi before venturing into any analysis. He should stop misleading his principal with false or borrowed hopes.

Obi's spokesman should not forget that his principal is part of the establishment. Thus, his message is indicting and ordinary. Arthur Eze has stated his position on 2023 Presidential contest. Obi has moved on to contest against his advice. Let the results prove Eze wrong!

TINUBU vs OSINBAJO: Time is not a pretender.

THE relationship between National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his protege, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is no secret. As Governor of Lagos State, Tinubu appointed Osinbajo into the State Executive Council as Commissioner of Justice and Attorney-General and in 2014, he recommended Osinbajo for the position of Vice President of Nigeria under the CPC-ACN political union that ushered in the Buhari-led Federal Government in 2015.

It is no news that Tinubu is eyeing the Presidency come 2023. His body language does not betray his political mindset and craving for a tenancy in Aso Rock. Osinbajo, on the other hand, has kept discreet, his political ambition whether out of fear or as a matter ot tact. These men are among the few APC members from the South-West enjoying favourable mentions for the number one seat.

Notwithstanding, support groups are springing up on a daily basis for the duo. Prominent among these groups are; South-West Agenda for Asiwaju, SWAGA '23 and Progressive Consolidation Group, a Support Group for Osinbajo 2023. The main actors and members of their inner caucuses have been avoiding a combative political engagement like a plague. But a new twist within the APC has ignited the long suppressed debate. The formal recognition of the PCG by the national leadership of the party has angered promoters of SWAGA '23 in no small measure. Whether strategic or provocative, the national leadership of the party has set the stage for the inevitable debate. If Tinubu decides to contest for the party ticket against his political godson, his credentials as a skillful and 'selfless' mentor shall be interrogated. On his part, Osinbajo's interest against Tinubu flying the APC ticket will put to question, his loyalty and sense of appreciation. While politics is a game governed by interest, time is not a pretender.
Politics / OBI CUBANA: Beyond The Opulence by orshiayoh: 6:30am On Jul 18, 2021
LAST Friday, the Social Media was awash with news of the burial of the mother of Obi Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana in Oba, Anambra State. The mournful ceremony became a display of wealth and appreciation of friendship.

The focus of the burial was not the life the deceased lived but the positive influence of his son. According to reports, Obi Cubana received gifts and donations totalling hundreds of millions from friends and associates. Most of the donors are the people he met at one station in life and offered them help, transforming their lives from grass to grace. The roll call of sympathizers at the burial were not the usual political elites or political businessmen. They were friend of Obi Cubana and not friends of power.

The lesson from Oba is simple, rendering genuine help to people is the defining moment of life. Obi Cubana is a good lesson in that regard!

Mowsid:
Aliegba questioned the criteria that required the candidates to write examination. He argued that it was unfair for a professor of over 25 years standing to write an examination with another professor who has just two or three years’ experience, insisting that there must be a set standard.

To some extent this is true, years of experience matter alot in the system

Methinks years of experience should put the Professor of over 25 years in a better position on both written and oral examination.

You people don't understand the politics playing out in Benue state. The examination is a game plan to put another tiv man as a VC in BSU.

The governor is a biased triabalist we all know.Building house's for his chief and ignoring another.

They should continue. You can all see the reason why Benue state will remain backward.

The idoma people are been neglected, we all know they are the smart ones in the state.

I beg to differ. While I hold no brief for the Governor, there is every need to set the records straight.

Professor David Ukoh Ikoni (not a Tiv man) is among the seven that passed the exams.

The Palace of the Tor Tiv is an initiative of the 14 LG Chairmen of Tiv speaking LGAs for their Chief and under the supervision of the Bureau of Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs.

There is no neglect of Idoma people in Benue State. Democracy is first a game of numbers and lobbying.

Philipponzaghi:

Then why did you attribute the failure to produce Senate president in 2015 to Tinubu if not double standard?

If Aso rock actually hate Tinubu, they won’t look away while Tibubu’s Gbajabiamila assume the speakership position under their watch.

Are the so called Aso rock cabals toothless bulldogs that can’t tame Tinubu?

You can’t choose when to attribute success or failure to Tinubu, it’s either you attribute all success to him or all failure to him.

Is Femi Gbajas a member of the ruling Cabal? The answer is NO. His emergence was a 'thank you' to Tinubu for allowing himself to be used in 2019 after he was sidelined in the scheme of things.

I have acknowledged Tinubu's successes and records as a political strategist and kingmaker. Kindly read the first paragraph again. Truth is that, Asiwaju is flying like a pilot that has lost touch with the control tower. Tell him now or let face the real music come 2023.

Philipponzaghi:
But within this epistle you forgot to mention one great win of Jagaban.

When Bukola showed Tinubu the federal politics of Abuja in 2015 by maneuvering his way to deny Asiwaju his henchman Gbajabiamila for the speakership position, Tinubu stood quiet and learnt the game to get back at Saraki like a lion waiting for the right time to strike.

Tinubu used his Political soldiers to uproot Saraki not only from Abuja by installing Gbaja and Lawan but from his family political dynasty in Kwara from top to bottom. Saraki felt the sting of Asiwaju and learnt that Asiwaju of the old is still Asiwaju of the present because he is a born political fighter.

2023 is pregnant, you shouldn’t underrate Tinubu because a man like him has more than 7 lives in politics. Let’s sit down and see the political gladiators maneuver the terrain of our murky waters of politics.

What happened at the NASS in 2019 received the blessing of Aso Rock. The current NASS leadership cannot even bark. Saraki became a threat to Aso Rock and that was the sole reason for his defeat. No glory to Tinubu, please.

BOLA TINUBU: A time for retrospection and introspection

Former Lagos State Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a good strategist. He is a courageous and shrewd politician. His marks on Nigeria’s political landscape are indelible just like his mistakes. He disagreed with presidents and stood firm. He dislodged presidents and installed presidents. There was a time he flew Presidential jets like taxi. Governor’s worshipped in his Bourdillon political shrine and his voice resonated across the Six States in the South-West. In Lagos, he is still the landlord.

Tinubu’s status and stature in Nigeria’s politics became a topic even among his opponents. He became Asiwaju of the Universe. Even his brother-governors in the 1999 Club listened to him for instructions like a pupil listening to his tutor. The mention of Tinubu marked the end of any contentious political tussle. Asiwaju’s opinion prevailed and became a decision!

The emaciation of Tinubu’s political stature started like a cancer despite his successful installation of a serving president. First, he could not install his loyalists on the leadership chart of the 8th National Assembly. Aso Rock looked away while the Kwara Prince of Power, Bukola Saraki taught Asiwaju classic politics. The Lagos landlord became a tenant in Abuja. The emaciation did not stop there. In the nomination of Ministers, erstwhile associates and protégés of Tinubu like Babatunde Fashola and Kayode Fayemi got into Buhari’s Cabinet without his inputs. Tinubu’s pen was no longer needed on a piece of paper from the South-West to make it meaningful. The political invasion of Tinubu’s territory became an open secret with the defeat of his anointed candidate for the APC guber ticket in Ondo State, Abraham Olusegun by the candidate of Abuja Boys, Rotimi Akeredolu. Aso Rock partied as Fayemi, Fashola and Ameachi flew into the Centre of Unity with the ticket.
2019 came and Abuja had to mend her relationship with Tinubu because of Buhari’s re-election. Like a wife with a vault of secrets in her custody, Abuja needed her secrets to remain secret. Tinubu received presidential treats even to the surprise of his wife, Remi. Her outburst turned into songs in Bourdillon. Tinubu disagreed and disobeyed Buhari on Ambode’s re-election. Abuja was in shock and Aso Rock quivered. A General begged a Civilian. Tinubu stood his ground and uprooted Ambode from Alausa like unriped okra. But Tinubu forgot that even though Atiku accepted the ‘I beg you’ of a General, he never laughed afterwards. There was no mercy. But Tinubu went to sleep laughingly!

The elections came and Buhari emerged victorious. Buhari’s second coming marked the exit of Tinubu’s nominated loyalists in government. His man Friday at the APC National Secretariat, Adams Oshiomhole was booted out as National Chairman courtesy of a suspension from his Ward Chairman. Still buried in the thought for a further push, Tinubu’s influence became a curse and Pastor Ize-Iyamu suffered a historic defeat in the September 18 Edo Governorship election. Curiously, Tinubu’s lackey and Lagos State Governor, Sanwo Olu was busy playing football in his palatial court on the day his godfather was WIKED in Benin. Even the King of Soccer, Lionel Messi enjoys a rest day, but for Tinubu’s Sanwo Olu, rest is alien.
But Tinubu has refused to read the handwriting on the wall. May be his obsession with 2023 has blinded the eyes of the eagle and he is flying like a pilot not in touch with the control tower. For supporters of Asiwaju, tell him it is indeed time for retrospection and introspection!

The withdrawal of Mr. Agah's nomination is in my opinion, a wrong decision influenced by local politics. Mr. Agah who joined the WTO since 2005 as Nigeria's Permanent Representative and later appointed a Deputy Director-General is an insider, and can be trusted and supported by colleagues to reform the WTO. His nomination received overwhelming support within the WTO and the General Council, a body he chaired while serving as Nigeria's Ambassador. May Nigeria not suffer the consequences of this political decision.

Politics / Anambra: Obiano Is Still The Best Option by orshiayoh: 11:20am On Oct 20, 2017
ANAMBRA: OBIANO IS STILL THE OPTION!
Leaders of All Progressives Congress led by Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, Senate President Bukola Saraki, National Chairman, John Odigie Oyegun and other party stalwarts are expected in Onitsha today for the flag off of the Governorship Campaign of the APC Candidate, Tony Nwoye ahead of the November 18 Governorship election. As expected, Ndi Anambra should be prepared to listen to ‘sweet talks’ clothed in campaign promises akin to the 2015 Buhari and APC Promise of turning Nigeria into ‘heaven’. But it is incumbent on the good people of Anambra to pause at the end of every speech and ask how many governors on the platform of the APC are doing better than Governor Willie Obiano in terms of delivering good governance to the people. From Aguleri to Njikoka, Anambra East to Anambra West, Onitsha to Orumba, Awka to Abagana, the footprints of willing Willie is working are everywhere. Civil Servants in the State smile to the bank from 23rd to 27th of every month.
In football, any player dreaming to clinch the World Best Footballer must play better than the combination of Ronaldo and Messi. Therefore, the good people of Anambra must demand for a candidate who is better than the combination of Peter Obi and Willie Obiano. Judging from the list of candidates released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, I conclude with great optimism that Willie Obiano is still the best OPTION!

OYEGUN’S HEAD
According to a new report in The Nation Newspaper, 17 out of 24 Governors on the Platform of the governing All Progressives Congress are calling for the head of their National Chairman, Chief John Odigie Oyegun. They alleged among others that the National Chairman is not running the affairs of the party effectively. I am compelled to agree with the disenchanted governors because Oyegun has shown absence or lack of political tact and diplomacy in leading the APC as a party in government.
The political ‘sins’ legion: Oyegun’s handling of the (s)election of leadership of the National Assembly and its aftermath nearly destroyed the soul of the coalition. The El-Rufai vs Shehu Sani titanic struggle for the soul of APC followed and still unresolved till date making Kaduna a politically volatile. Oyegun displaying blind loyalty to the Abuja Cabal allowed the mishandling of the APC Governorship Primaries in Ondo leading to a renewed mistrust among major players of the Coalition APC. The APC in Kano State cannot go into an election united because of the raging political war between Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State and his predecessor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, a grassroots politician. Today, the Presidency is engaged in a war with former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu because of 2019 Presidential race. Both men are staunch members and financiers of the party at the national level.
The Oyegun ‘sins’ coupled with his inability or lack of interest to convince the presidency on the need to appoint party members into vacant Boards and Parastatals after two years into the life of the administration is worrisome. While the President is politically unconscious, his team has been carried away by the fragrance of power and cannot read the mood of party members. Fortunately, majority of the APC Governors have felt Oyegun’s pinch and called the attention of the presidency to act or forget about the soul of the party ahead of an interesting general election come 2019!

Nairaland / General / 2019 And The Possibility Of A Tinubu Presidency by orshiayoh: 5:30am On Oct 19, 2017
2019 AND THE POSSIBILITY OF A TINUBU PRESIDENCY
Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is one of Nigeria’s finest political strategists. He is the leader of South-West and one of the political actors that have defined the political and economic direction of the Yoruba people.
In 2011, Asiwaju dissatisfied with the preliminaries leading to an alliance between the defunct Congress of Progressives Change of Muhammadu Buhari and his party, the Action Congress of Nigeria accepted the offer of a Presidential handshake from then President and candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Goodluck Jonathan leading to the victory of the PDP in the presidential elections. The bargain though not watertight was observed in breach.
The story changed in 2015 and there was a successful merger between four major opposition political parties namely: the Congress of Progressives Change, CPC, Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, All Nigerian People’s Party, ANPP and a faction of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA. This gave birth to the All Progressives Congress, APC and eventual defeat of an incumbent president, Goodluck Jonathan, a feat never recorded in the political history of Nigeria.
The pragmatic Asiwaju Tinubu had negotiated the Yoruba interest and ensured its materialization. The Vice Presidential seat and other sensitive appointments at the Federal level were given to the Yorubas and even non-Yorubas but based on the recommendations of Asiwaju Tinubu.
In spite of his successes as a political kingmaker, the Tinubu presidential project has refused to disappear on the national political map. While it was carefully managed prior to the 2015 general elections, the Tinubu for President Project has gained momentum and threatening to shake not just the soul of the coalition All Progressives Congress but tear the nation’s political fabric. Major events in the last few weeks have indicated a united Yoruba resolve to take a shot at the Presidency come 2019 with Tinubu as the willing and capable tool. First, Asiwaju Tinubu, a man known for his careful engagement with the media, ‘carelessly’ unveiled his 7-Point Agenda. This was followed with the declaration by a former National Chairman of the APC and a Tinubu trusted associate, Chief Bisi Akande that the APC Presidential ticket for 2019 is contestable. Dele Momodu, a respected Columnist and fan of Asiwaju Tinubu released a Backpage Column dissecting the Akande Declaration and its positive implications.
Unfortunately, the Buhari political structure is highly regional and his lieutenants are carried away by the fragrance of power. While they are busy fighting the Waziri Adamawa and the only cosmopolitan politician of Northern extraction, Atiku Abubakar, ahead of the 2019 Presidential race, the Asiwaju team is already prepared for the must watch match!
