He may say it too, but along the line, things may change between them and he or she goes back on his word. That's the world we live in. We live in a world with uncertainties. Anyone without a plan B not just for marriage but for anything in life is a fool. A lot of men chastise Elin Woods for the sum of money she received. Quite frankly, that was her plan b. My plan b? I'm signing a prenuptial agreement because I plan on making enough money on my own so that if any boyfriend/husband of mine fools around, I can leave him without thinking twice. It concerns only them considering that in 99.9% of marriages with name changes, the woman is the person changing a name. Bottom line, if you don't like the idea of her keeping her name or hyphenating it with yours, then leave her alone.

lol, well i must tell you i am a guy and an Negroid, So if you go back to history you will definately find out it has never been that way whereby a woman keeps his last name after being married.Changing her last name for that of her hubby is one respect of marriage.Fine it might not be said in the holy book but i presume there were different ways of describing a lady in the bible.I have this believe a lady who wants that is just wanting to be known in the wider world via her last name,either her last name being a famous politician name or a responsible and highly recognize man(Her Dad in most cases).But you having your name being restored after marriage because its sweet doesnt make sense to me.Not being hard here okay just sharing my own perspective of the subject matter.Besides if your guy's  last name wasnt sweet why marry him the first place.Being in love has to be accepting ones imperfection as perfection.So even if the guy doesnt care about your decision mind you his family cares and will insult him for it, peace

You know in the past this idea was never a question, But i believed the general African mentality is getting married and having the guys surname as the woman's,so why is there a problem having his last name then and what so sweet about the lady's surname that she cant let go.This mentality from ladies comes with Pride,and only few do this besides a woman who is liable to want this being done or no marriage is liable to let go of you in future(because wetin dey tie her down at that moment is just love she has for you)With time the real pride she has gotten would want more than just are own surname being restored, you will say i said so.I cant marry a woman that wont bear my last name.Thats just the fact.
