At the moment, he has been filed for as unmarried son on an LPR, the LPR later naturalize and then upgrage the petition from unmarried son of an LPR to unmarried son of a U.S Citizen. If the son then gets married while been filed for as unmarried son of a US citizen, does it make the petition invalid?

VisaOfficer: If your mother is already an LPR and files TODAY, the priority date will be Sept. 12, 2013, for your F2B visa. Then when she naturalizes, even if it's a year from now, you will convert to the F1 category, and your priority date will still be Sept. 12, 2013.

If she waits until she naturalizes, you'll be in the F1 category from the very beginning, but your priority date will be later because your mother waited to file.

So if she files now, it's almost like jumping the queue because you know you'll have an earlier priority date even though you'll end up processing as an F1. But you're not actually jumping the queue or doing anything unethical or illegal; you're just being smart.
