ThatgirlO: Good afternoon house, I applied for a student visa on the 8th of august 2023 and it seems like I am the only one still waiting for my visa outcome. Although my resumption deadline was 16th of October but my university had to defer my admission and update my CAs to the next intake which is 20th of November. My visa application is still pending, this week is going to make it the 12th week since I submitted. It seems everyone has gotten their visas and others that haven’t have withdrawn their application and planning to reapply for January intake. I was lucky that my course has a November intake but right now I feel alone and frustrated, I am just waiting. I have done 5 paid calls, I have escalated twice, the last escalation was last week Thursday and the last paid call was done yesterday. I was told I cannot escalate this week since the last escalation was just last week. I am really really worried and I want to know if there is any other way I can reach the home office so that I can get my decision on time. This delay is causing me a lot of distress physically, health wise and financially, please I will appreciate any help or suggestions. Thank you, gurus in the house please help I salute your courage to have hanged in there till now, hoping that your good news would come quickly. |

Castalia: Approval Letter came in this morning. Visa Approved However, Paspport has not yet moved to VAC on the TLS website. So not sure when one can realistically get the passport. And the enrollment deadline is still tomorrow, 9th October.
Please house What do you advice? Now that you are very sure that your visa is on the way, why don't you go ahead and do your enrolment? For the avoidance of doubt, every detail you need for enrollment must have been sent to you by your school already, and you don't necessarily have to be physically present in the school to do it. |

Godslove124: Please I’m asking for a friend
what happens when someone doesn’t meet up with resumption deadline? Can the person be given few days grace by the uni? If you are in such a situation where it is clear that you can no longer beat your University's deadline, you must be proactive enough to start engaging the relevant teams in the school e.g The Enrolment Team, The Immigration Compliance Team, The Document Checking Team and so on as the case may be. It is when you do this that you discover exactly what is possible and what is not, as far as your case and your respective University are concerned. |

Hforhigh: What if the same reference was addressed to the school? Can one still use it for visa application still . In this case, you have to meet your former employer to assist you again by addressing the reference letter to the British High Commission. That would help you tidy things up. |

Ginnypal69: Good morning family I need advice for my friend. She is applying for her children's visa and made a mistake in inputing the wrong date for her visa expiration thereby making her to pay wrong IHS fees for her children. What can she do at this point, she has not booked for capturing yet. Thanks Your friend has nothing to worry about. She should go ahead and book for biometrics. At some point in the visa decision making process, she will receive a link from UKVI to top up the IHS fee. Once in a while too, visas are already out before applicants are asked to top up or pay the full IHS fee. |

pilotjenny: Good morning all, please help. the reference letter I used in collecting unconditional offer ,I stop working there. What reference can I now use for visa application and CAS shield? currently have no place of work. The same reference letter you used to secure admission (as long as it is genuine) is still a useful part of your documents for visa application. You need a CV and that last job forms a part of your employment history. Above all, if you graduated less than 5 years ago, you may not need much proof of employment. |

Saokelarin6942: Don't panic. Decision is usually made on submitted SOA. You're good if you don't have money to extend your POF. While you may have a genuine intention of helping people to answer their questions, please ensure you are careful enough so that you don't mislead them in the process. POF is so critical to the success of visa application and all applicants therefore, must ensure they abide by the rules. |

ants: Tried doing this with my school and they pushed back hard. I think the main issue is UKVI can't give a definitive date to deliver the visa. They can't say it will take 1/2/3/4 weeks which is a big problem for applicants. Unfortunately, we don't have strong governance to be able to push back on them. Since the feedback from your school is not that favourable, I think your decision to withdraw your visa may be a right step in the right direction. |

harley4: Please everyone,
Is there any implication if I withdraw my application at this point? Because my school didn't accept late entry and my visa is not yet approved. Wait a minute! Before you consider withdrawal of your visa application, have you tried your best already to inform the school of the visa delay? I believe many UK Universities can still shift ground if you let them see the genuiness of your case. We have read here, stories of people who fought a good fight and eventually got their visas. You too can. |

Sam2305: Good morning,
I calculated estimated IHS fee for myself and I got £1,175 .
Has IHS fee been increased? What is the duration of your course? If your course is 2years long, then that IHS fee is justifiable. That is, 470+470+235 =1,175 GBP. 235 GBP being for the extra 4 months of stay. |

voucher: Good morning house, seems IHS fee has been increased? Or we are not filling in properly? Please help, is it 934 dollars now? Your course must be longer than 12 months, then. The duration of your course determines your IHS fee. |

PaoExchange: Hello house
I just paid for dependent visa and I got quoted 475USD for visa fee. Is this the exact amount I’m supposed to pay? I believe it should be higher than that.
For context main applicant’s visa fee was 482USD. Someone please help What you paid is correct considering there are always slight fluctuations in the fees. |

Mishayegha: Till now, he has not gotten a mail for passport collection. Your passport is most likely ready for collection because it is always stated clearly in the BRP mail that your VISA APPLICATION IS SUCCESSFUL. I also suggest you go to TLS with the required documents to collect it. |

EseEfe: Thank you for your response! Given that my school is resuming soon, would it be advisable for me to apply for a priority visa? Or should I wait for the embassy's 3-week response? Yes, you can opt for priority visa to fast-track your application. However, you have to be simple, clear, straight-forward yet sufficient as much as possible with your documents to make the priority service work for you. |

Fifth: Hello, Please what dates are currently available for a UK student visa appointment. My school starts this September, 2023. Thanks. You will be able to check the available dates for your BIOMETRICS APPOINTMENT (not visa appointment, precisely) when you summit your visa application. Ensure you ask for further guidance if you are still in doubt about anything. |

EseEfe: Hey everyone! I could use some guidance on what to do next. Here's my situation: I received my school offer on Friday. Yesterday, I started my visa application and everything was going smoothly until I reached the IHS payment page. The payment page didn't load after multiple attempts. Instead, I was redirected to a page showing 000.00UD as my IHS fee. I clicked on the next page, thinking it would take me to the payment page, but I received an instant email with my IHS reference number, indicating that I made the payment. Ignorantly, I continued with my application and reached the visa payment page, where I entered all the payment details and was instantly debited. Now, I'm worried about proceeding with the rest of the application because I haven't made the actual IHS payment. I've checked my application for errors, but everything seems fine. I did notice that I clicked on a colon that asked if I was going to the Isle of Man. I would really appreciate some guidance on what to do next. I'm feeling quite anxious and couldn't sleep last night. Thanks in advance! You have nothing to worry about. Go ahead and complete your application, submit your documents and book your biometrics accordingly. The IHS payment failure is a technical error from the portal which is always corrected at some point in your application process, where you receive a message from UKVI to make the payment. |

KingCassy: I’ve read the article… thanks a lot… she’s not applied for cas or visa yet but I think it’s less than 8 weeks for her program start… does this mean we won’t ever get our money back? £6,500 is a whole lot of money to let go by like that now Going by the article, your sister is obviously qualified for a refund. The next step is for you to send a reminder email to the school and copy all relevant quarters. Remember also to attach the receipts issued to you upon payment. I am sure you will be attended to in due course. |

KingCassy: Please at this juncture I really need help with getting my sister’s refund from the Leeds university…. After payment of the tuition fee.. I paid twice… as bank didn’t complete the payment so we had to use black market… the two payments were confirmed and reciepts issued…Now due to unforeseen circumstances my sister couldn’t continue.. we’ve not even applied for cas yet.. So for the past 2 to 3 weeks now we’ve been asking for refund. No reply from them. Pleas what else can we do to get this refund pls. The money is 6500 pounds. To start with, check the university's website and read their Refund Policy so as to know what exactly to expect in this situation. Again, are you referring to University of Leeds, Leeds Beckett University or Leeds Trinity University? |

IJay8: They conducted an interview, after which they said they don’t think he is a genuine student I feel something must be wrong somewhere in the last application for UKVI to have stated that they don't think your husband is a genuine student. Please make efforts to do a critical review of his educational and employment history including that of the documents submitted to support the application, to prepare well for the new visa application. Remain strong for there will surely be light at the end of the tunnel. |

milliki: Anyone who did biometrics on August 19 at Ikeja. Any mail yet? When will it move from DMC to VAC? I dey prayer mountain laids oo. I understand why you are asking this question, knowing that people waiting for a visa decision largely tend to be agitated. However, the fact that two applicants do biometrics on the same day does not automatically mean that they will both experience the same timelines from DMC to VAC. All the best! |
