Hello house

I just paid for dependent visa and I got quoted 475USD for visa fee.
Is this the exact amount I’m supposed to pay? I believe it should be higher than that.

For context main applicant’s visa fee was 482USD. Someone please help

What you paid is correct considering there are always slight fluctuations in the fees.

Hi Duchess,
I am very confused at this point.
So I got married early July. We have been dating since late 2018 (I have bank transactions and old pictures to prove this, I have chats from far back as 2020 as well). We both live and work in the same city but we haven’t been living together until we got married.
1. How do I prove why we have been living apart?
2. Would bank transactions and old pictures from 2018 and chats from 2020 till date suffice for evidence of continued relationship over the years?
Please advise.

Good morning house, seems IHS fee has been increased? Or we are not filling in properly? Please help, is it 934 dollars now?

Your course must be longer than 12 months, then. The duration of your course determines your IHS fee.

Good morning @duchess and other gurus in the house. I just booked appointments with TLS Ikeja (Flexi) together with my dependants. I was given Monday 4th September, that's is the earliest date I see. Can I walk in there before Monday because I consider Monday too far for my biometric. My school resumes on 18th September

If you want to do it earlier, then you would need to purchase one of their added value services. Maybe Flexi or Prime time

E-bank statement is fine, that's what I used.

ohhh thank you very much. Reason why I asked my e bank statement branch address is showing globus head office and not any actual address. Hope it’s fine ?

Standard application is more faster than Priority lately. I noticed the trend of the result early this month. Most priority application not take more than 10working days and I've seen standard application getting to VAC in 4-5days. Something is wrong somewhere.

I would advice anyone trying to apply not to waste money in opting for priority application. Its a total waste of money.

This is fallacy of generalization. Note that everyone’s case is different from each other. A single person traveling alone might get a decision within 3 days depending on his/her case. Each and every member of a family will be scrutinized separately and individually, which might take longer time compared to others. The decision makers are not the same or just one person. So saying that priority payment is a waste of time because of few persons you know that got quicker decisions with standard application is not a good conclusion. No persons application is the same even if you are twins!

Well, In a way you may have point because I have seen a couple of people that did priority and still awaiting decision after few weeks. But, I think how accurate the documents submitted are also determine how soon a decision will be made.

In my case, MA did Biometric on July 4 and collection mail dropped July 14th. I did Biometric as a dependant on August 16 and collection email dropped on August 23rd. Both applications were standard.

Best of Luck to all the people awaiting decision.

Hello everyone, I thought to update you.
I haven't received a response from the Home Office concerning my decision or the complaints department since I submitted my complaint,
so I sent a mail to the UKVI contact center on Monday to inquire if a decision had been made, but I was told my application was still being considered.
Yesterday I received another email stating my case has been re-escalated and the Sheffield team reached out to me today to inform me my application is being worked on and a decision will be made as soon as possible.

I don't even know what to think or how to feel. It seems so long ago since I submitted my application with such excitement for my intended study in the United Kingdom. I even made a vision board of all my future plans with a detailed description of internships I would do, what I would wear to my graduation ceremony as a graduate with distinction, my dream job and salary, the company I would work for, places I would visit etc. Now I look at it every day and feel my dreams slipping away...

It is heartbreaking!

please....do not mislead people
it'll take more time if the process Is not straight forward or an interview is needed or the bank do not respond on time etc.

If 3 weeks is the standard processing time for your visa type, then you have no reason to be worried yet.
