DSS nabs Boko Haram suspects in Lagos, Enugu, Plateau, others
The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the arrest of no fewer than 19 suspected Boko Haram terrorists during operations in Lagos, Enugu, Plateau, Kano and Gombe States. A statement on Sunday by the Acting spokesman of the DSS, Tony Opuiyo, said the suspects were some of the commanders and frontline members of the sect who had played active roles in some of the sect’s bloody campaign, particularly in the Northeastern part of the country. Opuiyo said the suspects, who were arrested between July 8 and August 24 included those that coordinated and executed suicide attacks in Potiskum, Kano, Zaria and Jos. The DSS said one of the suspects, Usman Shuaibu (a.k.a Money), revealed that he coordinated the attacks with the sum of N500,000 which was provided by his Amir, one Isa Ali. “Shuaibu claimed that the said Isa Ali has links to the leader of the Boko Haram sect, Abubakar Shekau, from where he collects monies to fund operations undertaken by their Markaz. “Also, he revealed that he has participated in several Boko Haram attacks, including the attacks at Gwoza Divisional Police Station in 2014.” “Shuabu also admitted being the leader of the team of nine sect members that was dispatched from Sambisa Forest to carry out the attacks. He disclosed that four out of the nine of them were used as suicide bombers in executing all the suicide attacks,” the statement added. Another suspect, Ahmed Mohammed (a.k.a Abubakar), who the Service described as an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) expert, was said to have confessed to having prepared the IEDs used for most of the suicide attacks in the Northeast.

Crime / Mob Roasts Man For Stealing Woman’s Pot Of Soup In Calabar by osinachinwosu(m): 11:39pm On Aug 23, 2015
Mob roasts man for stealing woman’s pot of soup in Calabar

A mob on sunday morning, in Calabar Cross river state capital butchered and set ablaze a young man beside the fence of the Atu Secondary School along Goldie Street for allegedly robbing a woman of a pot of soup while two of his accomplices managed to escape.

The hoodlum in the company of two others are alleged to have attacked the woman in the wee hours of the Sunday at No 3, Mayne Avenue Extension in Calabar South and were attracted by the aroma of the soup the woman was warming in readiness to eat with her children before heading for the early morning mass at the nearby St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and decided to cart the pot of soup away.

A young man who lives in the same premises with the lady said as the robbers were about to get out of the compound with the pot of soup, the woman raised alarm prompting neighbours to go after them and caught up with the one carrying the pot of soup and dealt him several machete cut before setting him ablaze.

“It was almost dawn when the boys attacked the woman and carried her pot of soup and when they were about getting out of the compound, she raised alarm and people came out and pursued them and caught up with this one”. Our source who prefers anonymity said

He said the boy was not able to run as fast as his accomplices were because he not drop the pot of soup but was running with it which gave the mob the chance to catch up with him and butche him. “This is not the first time they have come to our compound to steal. Last week they removed the car battery of one of our neioghbours and once night falls, they waylay people, especially ladies around Goldie by Atu and snatch their handbags and phones”. He said.

At the time of writing the report there was no sign of the presence of security agents there while the body was still lying by the Atu Secondary School fence.

Nigerian Air Force intercepts, destroys Boko Haram transport trucks

Two trailers suspected to be carrying logistics support to members of the Boko Haram Terrorist sect have been intercepted and destroyed by the Nigerian Air Force Agusta helicopter on armed reconnaissance mission around the Nigeria-Cameroon border.
The trailers were covered and parked at different locations in the bush around the border town of Belel. The recent air operation against the BHTs was commanded by the Chief of the Air Staff, CAS, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar from NAF reconnaissance aircraft, the King Air 350i. The CAS coordinated the various NAF platforms involved in the operation to provide close air support to ground forces, led by the Chief of the Army Staff, Lt Gen Tukur Buratai, as they advance from Dikwa to Gamboru Ngala.
Meanwhile, NAF 260, a Mi-24V attack helicopter was hit during the operation. One of the main rotor blades was hit and damaged. However, the pilot was able to successfully fly the helicopter back to base to land. The affected aircraft has since been repaired and is back to the theatre of operation.

Politics / Bayelsa Polls: Sylva , Alaibe Recruiting Thugs To Rig Re-election –ijaw Group by osinachinwosu(m): 9:42pm On Aug 15, 2015
Nwosu Osinachi shared the following link and had this to say about it:

*** WAILING WAILERS***
::::: LOL;;;;
Bayelsa Polls: Sylva , Alaibe Recruiting Thugs To Rig Re-election –Ijaw Group

The Ijaw Young Professionals (IYP) has accused the former state governor, Timipre Sylva and the former Managing Director of the NNDC, Timi Alaibe of recruiting young Ijaw none indigenes outside Bayelsa State to be used to rig the forthcoming governorship election.

The organization has also claimed that the two politicians resorted to this measure because they lack grassroots support back home, hence the mass recruitment said to be going on now in Lagos, Ondo, Edo and Delta states.

Spokesman of the Ijaw Young Professionals, Barr. Seighfa Tonye-Brown, who revealed the development in a statement in Lagos, said the youths mostly of Ijaw extraction were being induced with handsome cash rewards to move to Bayelsa State to take part in the proposed revalidation of voters exercise in the state to capture those who just attained the voting age.

However, Brown alleged that both Sylva and Alaibe were working to manipulate the process by having the names of unqualified recruits filled up in the register which they hope to use to rig the December 5 election in the state, adding that his organization was also aware that the youths being gathered will be used to cause violence during the election.

He has, therefore, called on the leadership of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to be discrete in the way and manner it goes about reregistering and revalidating voters ahead of the election.

“We call on INEC to be mindful of the antics of desperate politicians and their planned attempt to rig the December 5 governorship election just as we make the clarion call for relevant authorities to note the plan by some evil people to cause violence at the election for negative objectives”, he stated.

The IYP charged political parties to prevail on their members to be of good conduct before, during and after rallies and campaign events to ensure that peace continues to reign in the state.

“Bayelsa State have had its painful share of political violence in the past and it is sad to note that the same characters who were masterminds of those dark political era that saw to the deaths of countless youths are now congregating in APC. We have cause to be worried knowing the antecedents of these men. Their only strategy is through violence and manipulation by intimidating people from coming out to vote in order to allow a free reign to rig the election. But their plot will fail because the people are ready to resist them this time”.

Facebook has been awash today by another fake story of one Abokoku been captured. According to the wailers, the Abokuku was meant to accompany the late Oba on his journey to the great beyond. I have no clear knowledge of the custom and tradition of the Yorubas, but am sure the picture trending right now is not that of the Abokoku.

To cut it short, the WAILERS pulled those pictures from an Ethopian cultural site. The story is that of a tribe called BODI, a region where men contest for the fattest man.

Bayelsa 2015: PEJ Endorses APC Candidate Over PDP’s

As the December 5 governorship election in Bayelsa state continues to
gain momentum, there are indications that former first lady Dame Patience Jonathan has surprisingly thrown her
weight behind the immediate past governor of Bayelsa state Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a report on The Sun, the wife of former president Goodluck Jonathan maybe indirectly backing Sylva following a directive to her group in a
meeting asking them not to support the re-election of Henry Seriake Dickson, the incumbent governor.
It was gathered that when some of the people at the meeting raised observation as to the possibility of working for Sylva when the former
president Jonathan had openly declared support for Dickson, Dame Jonathan reportedly told them that Jonathan won’t support Dickson when the chips are down.

According to the report, Dame Jonathan prefers Dr. Weripamowei Dudafa, former presidential aide to Goodluck Jonathan and commissioner for local government under Sylva to
incumbent governor Dickson.
Former president Goodluck Jonathan, Patience Jonathan, Ex-vice president Namadi Sambo and former baylesa gov, Timipre Sylva It was gathered that the meeting was attended by
Werinipre Seibarugu, former acting governor of the state and chairman of the defunct Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) in Bayelsa state, Dr. Dudafa, former
commissioners for transport and sports, Marie Ebikake, Ebikitin Diongoli, Remi Kuku and a host of others.
This development comes as a shock to many as Timipre Sylvia had earlier dubbed former president Goodluck Jonathan as a betrayal while the former president also during the run
to the presidential election in March put an end to speculations about a frosty relationship between him and
Governor Henry Seriake Dickson
of Bayela state who he tacitly endorsed for re-election in 2016.

Woman confesses to selling 19 kids to ritualists in Imo state

A woman named Chioma Anoruo has been arrested by the Owerri, Imo state Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), after she confessed to selling about 19 children to ritualists. According to a report by The Guardian, Mrs. Anoruo was arrested by the Orlu community local vigilante group. She was subsequently handed over to the police.

During the raid, five children, including a new-born baby, already kidnapped for sale, were rescued from her house, while a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) belonging to her husband, Emeka, who is now on the run, was recovered along with an undisclosed large sum of money.

According to The Heat Nigeria, an online media, residents had complained of incessant disappearance of children in the area, which was of serious concern to the community leaders.
“This year alone, the community has recorded a large number of missing children,” says a vigilance group member of the community who wanted his name off-print.

On March 30, Master Dominion Obasi, a pupil of Ezioha Community School, Okporo was kidnapped in the school premises and since then, has not been found.

While the community was searching for him, a son of a Deeper Life Church pastor was also kidnapped and is still missing.

However, two sons of the same parents, identified as Chukwuemeka and Chigozie, pupils of Holy Trinity Anglican School, Amazu in Okporo were abducted while returning home after their school had closed for the day.

As the abductors were trying to escape with them on their motorcycle, a palm wine tapper, who saw the two men while on top of a palm tree, raised the alarm, which attracted the attention of vigilance group members, who pursued them and apprehended one of the suspects identified as Ebuka.
The arrest of Anorue followed Ebuka’s confession that she and her husband were his sponsors, who buy each child from his gang for N100,000.

According to the vigilance group member, when Chioma’s husband, Emeka sighted them, he escaped through the back door while his wife was apprehended and forced to open their doors where the victims were found inside a room in captivity.

During her confession, she revealed that human merchandise had been their family business for years. She confessed that her major work in the business was to keep the victims while her husband would contact buyers and sell them.

She also confessed that they had sold more than 19 children and the remaining five were waiting to be sold to their customers before her arrest.

Meanwhile, the vigilance group has transferred the suspect and the rescued victims to SCID Owerri under under a department led by one Supol Obi for further investigation

BY FAITH, NOT BY SIGHT
Scripture: john 20:24-29
"For we walk by,not by sight:"
2 cor 5:7(kjv)

Sight is the most prominent of the five senses. The five senses which are the senses of sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing. Faith draws from a different source of information, which is the revelation from God while the five senses draw from flesh and blood as their source.

Faith does not operate based on the feeling but works when we believe what God has said and done. There is a popular saying that seeing is beleiving but in the principle of faith, believing is seeing. In the scripture qouted above JESUS says to doubting Thomas "blessed are those who have not seen and yet believe" God's blessing are unleashed when we believe.

To believe God is to believe the word of God, which is forever true. You got saved by believing in what Jesus did on the cross without seeing it. Believe His word also for every other need.

Nothing in life is worth fighting for. Your best clothes is someone's rag, your account balance is someone's donation at a function, your girl friend/boy friend or fiance/fiancee' is someone's Ex. Every single prostitute you see in a hotel or on the street at night was at some point in time a virgin. So what is the squabble all about? Life is too small to feel bigger or better than anybody.

We're all naked to death says Steve Jobs. Nothing can save us from it. I hate to see people who Brag about wealth, beauty, intelligence, level of education, fame and material possessions.

There's nothing you've achieved in life that no one else has never gotten. There's only one thing that is worth bragging which is "BELIEVE IN GOD ALMIGHTY". SO BE GOOD TO YOUR FELLOW MEN AND WOMEN ALWAYS MAKE FRIENDS.

Always remember that the people you trampled upon on your way up a ladder will be the same set of people you're likely to pass on your way down, so cause no problem for others because if you do, they'll become your very problem one day.

Politics / Buhari, Gbajabiamila Meet Again by osinachinwosu(m): 10:26pm On Jul 24, 2015
A member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, on Friday met briefly with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Gbajabiamila is one of the principal actors in the leadership crisis rocking the House.
He was the preferred choice of the leadership of the All Progressives Congress for the position of the Speaker ahead of the election of the leaders of the
8th National Assembly.
Yakubu Dogara, however, emerged the Speaker after he defied the party leadership to contest the election
against Gbajabiamila. Efforts by the party leadership to also ensure that Gbajabiamia emerges the House Leader is also currently not going down well with the Dogara group.
The Friday’s meeting was the second one
Gbajabiamila has so far held with Buhari.
Unlike the first one during which the President met with the lawmaker and about 29 of his colleagues loyal to him, only Gbajabiamila visited Buhari on
Friday.
After his brief meeting with the President, the lawmaker refused to answer reporters’ questions.
He simply said he was in a hurry “to see the Chairman”, obviously referring to the APC national chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun

Although, I have not been briefed by my Counsel (but hopefully we shall communicate) but, some of my learned friends and well-wishers have been sending me messages over the outcome of the election tribunal case between Rt. Honourable Emeka Ihedioha and Myself, today.
Well, God has reaffirmed the mandate given to me by all Imolites in the last Guber Elections. I wish to thank The Almighty God and Imolites for their total commitment and supports while the Tribunal lasted. Today's Victory is not about me but for all Imolites and beyond.
Meanwhile, I urge you to remain calm and go about your normal businesses.
I hereby re-assure Ndi-Imo that I will never fail in the course of Governance. We have already secured upto five strategic measures to revive Nigeria while away for discussion with the American President, Obama, with President Muhammadu Buhari Leading...
But let me inform you; Nigeria is not dependent to any country - as it has been reported in some quarters. All we are seeking for is possible opportunities to revive Nigeria in the areas of:
1. Economy;
2. Security;
3. Employment;
4. Industrialization;
5. Health and Financial Management, appropriation,
and development.
These key factors are our baseline for a better Nigeria. To me, Nigeria must be better; for in God, we Trust!
Thanks and God bless you all.

Pets / Woman Spends £60, 000 (N18 Million Naira) On Dogs’ Wedding Home by osinachinwosu(m): 2:56pm On Jul 19, 2015
One dog enthusiast is so devoted to her pets that she has spent £60,000 pampering them and even throwing a huge wedding ceremony for two of them.
Emmie Stevens, 27, from Croydon, South London, is obsessed with dressing up her pets and even calls them her children. Over the past seven years she has spent thousands of pounds on a walk in wardrobe, buggies; dog shows, grooming parlours, beauty products, diamante collars and food and vet bills for her twelve dogs.
But last week she took her hobby a step further by getting two of her canines to tie the knot, which included outfits for
the whole pack, a reception and even a first dance.
Emmie, a self-employed dog groomer said: ‘I love dressing up my dogs and pampering them, that’s why I decided to
perform a doggy wedding. Two of my dogs, Staffordshire bull terrier Bailey, and shih-tzu Coco, fell in love at first
sight and have been inseparable since. I performed the ceremony for them, they said their doggy vows and we used
a ring for Coco it was a fantastic day. They were dressed in the full attire, accompanied by their best men and
bridesmaids.
‘Afterwards they went to their reception where they were greeted by 30 poochy pals and enjoyed their buffet banquet, wedding cake and first dance,’ she said.
Emmie, according to Daily Mail, UK, says she thinks nothing of the extravagance because her dogs are the most
important thing in her life.
“I know people think I’m mad but my dogs are like my children, I call them my fur babies and I would do anything
for them.”
