Health / Re: How Healthy Is Tissue Paper? by otilowaju(f): 3:54pm On May 31, 2011
MRbrownJAY:

^^^may i ask: how will you get the tissue wet, if there is no water to even wash your hands?!

otilowaju:

1) Can someone tell me how a lady can clean her backside with water in a public/office toilet without water spilling on her undies?
2) In a loo where there's no soap to wash your hands after the show, don't you think your hands will be smelling afterwards?

for me, I'll go for tissue wet with water for the number 2 job when am outside and use water when at home.

.

@MrBrownJay, Please read my post again, I wrote 'no soap' and not 'no water''.
And mark you, when I wrote ''public toilet' I did not strictly mean 'Fashola built toilets' you will find at motor parks. You will agree me that some offices don't have free flow of water in their toilets, God help you if you feel the ''úrge'' when you're there. To me, tissue paper is da bomb and I can swim when am in the comfy of my home

Health / The Implication Of Artefacts On Mammography by otilowaju(f): 4:03pm On May 26, 2011
Hello Doctors in the House,
I did a mammogram last week and the result says:

Artefacts noted in some of the mammographs
The two br, sts are generally fibroglandular.  The nipples are everted,w ith normal subsutaneous tissues seen bilateraly. there's no mass, lesion or pathological calcification seen in both br, sts.  normal retrommammary spaces, with no lymphademopathy seen.    Normal study.

From a layman's assessment of the result I could tell there's no cause for alarm.  However, on checking the interpretation of the first line on the internet, I found out  artefacts in mammographs could mean the mamography equipment might have skipped some details shocked shocked shocked. What am I supposed to do? I did the test on my own when I was feeling ocassional pains in the two organs. I'm 45 years and I've removed two lumps in the past that were confirmed benign. thank you.

otilowaju:

@naijacutee, yeah, I called the number and the owner happened to be someone who knows someone I know and a date has been fixed for the Mammo. So it really wasn't as difficult as I thought. Thank you kiss.

@emans, thanks wink

So sorry I have to eat my words approximately 24hrs after I posted the above.  I was at the Xray Dept of Orile Agege General Hospital only for me to be re-directed to OPD (Outpatients Dept) to go and collect a referral!! Meaning I had to go and join the other waiting patients, take my turn, till whenever, to see the doctor, convince him why I had to do mamogram, and then bring my card/file back  to the Xray Section and join another long queque for x-ray, bla-blah shocked shocked.  It was almost certain I wouldn't get it done today!!!

Like I earlier said, I don't have such time so I took a trip to Precise Lab in Fagba as suggested by emans and within 45minutes I did the mamogram and returned to work. Just that I would have to pick the result later which is still ok by me. Once again, thanks Emans.

@naijacutee,
thanks for ur response. Am in my mid-40s. Ive removed a lump twice, one from each b.r.east and at different times. The last one was about 5yrs ago. Recently I started having occasional pains in one of the b.r.easts though there's no lump and I just think I shd run a mammo. Like I expressed earlier, government things are usually time-consuming. I'll call the number you supplied asap. Once again, thanks to you.

Family / Women, Did You Change Your Signature After Marriage? by otilowaju(f): 12:47pm On May 03, 2011
I've been married for about six years and have maintained the same signature (which obviously shows my maiden name). I observed over time that many of the married women I know, friends and colleagues, use their husbands' name. I'd have loved to change mine but I dread the challenges of notification. If you changed yours, did you have to inform the public - your bank, CSCS, office or any other places? Also, don't you sometimes forget and still sign the old signature. Please react. Thanks all.

Celebrities / Re: Cd John Is Dead - Light A Candle by otilowaju(f): 10:54am On Mar 25, 2011
I knew about him the night before his death,  (maybe few hours or so). Though not live, I watched his performance (he and Princess)  and I was bowled over by the way he mimicked the Calabar's in their praise and worship songs. Then came that his joke about the Chairman at a wedding where  he was the MC.  He said the Chairman in a thick Igbo accent warned him not to crack any joke at the event and of course he did. Then the Chairman threatened to KILL him because he cracked jokes despite his (the chairman's) warnings not to. He left the stage for his assistant and when the bride's mum who invited him accused him of delegating to his inexperienced apprentice, he told her about the death threat and the woman too was shocked and fearfully said if it was true, the Chairman would certainly kill him! Did anyone else watch this performance? Could there have been a correlation btw that 'joke'' and his death , Was it really a joke or did it actually happen? Am I imagining things, ? Mere coincidence? These their jokes sef! In short, am scared!!!

Adieu, John. cry cry
Career / Dredging Company Employee Handbook Needed Pls by otilowaju(f): 4:09pm On Mar 22, 2011
My  employer who has been  denying me and other staff our right. No leave, no overtime, no gratuity and no pension (even though there's monthly deduction to that effect) and there's nothing like all those other incentives enjoyed by our contemporaries in other organisations. Now I need to see the Employee Handbook of  a similar (i.e dredging) company to drive my points home.  No incrimination, no implication, just to read and have some ideas. Whoever is willing to help should please  send me mail on wigatap2001@yahoo.com. Thanks to you all.do u

FunmyKemmy:

Thanks for sharing that mission08.

The tea stuff is funny and boring (especially where and when you have to make tea for a junior staff somehow) but we are getting there with God.

Boring? It's most annoying!! (, yes, for junior staff and sometimes for folks much younger than you,  guys that were still in kindagarten when you were writing jamb! , and them mumu will be telling you their specification , '"pls give me coffee, not tea"!!! God, my kids would not tread this path o, by your grace!!!

Greetings to you all fellow Secretaries/PAs in the house. May the good Lord reward us all and take us to greater heights in Jesus name.

@Big Leap, Ive sent CVs of several of my friends and relations but it seems none of them seems to 'meet your criteria'. I pray you, before I send this one again, does any of your client need the services of a mature male secretary? Thank you as I expect your reply.
Jobs/Vacancies / Excuse Me, Moderator, I Can't Modify My Post! by otilowaju(f): 2:22pm On Aug 11, 2010
Hi Mod, why is it impossible to modify posts these days?  Recently I found that anytime I want to modify an already submitted post there's an alert that 'An error has occured and can't modify!' There's a particular post submitted to 'Big Leap's 'Urgent Vacancies' precisely on July 7 at 8.43am. I've attempted to remove the names I mentioned therein and couldn't. I also requested the poster  to remove the one he repeated but he too couldn't. I'd very much appreciate your successful effort in removing those names for obvious reasons wink.   Thank you.
