That building is right beside a canal which may have not be cleaned out in a long time. The big canal in UNIPORT was recently cleaned out so flooding in that area will be minimal.

Why don't they ever prophecy about 24/7 electricity, good roads, world class and affordable schools and hospitals, reduction in food prices, etc?

For I hear the sound of an abundance of rain.

Yup! Renewed yearly. That's one of the way they maintain the good roads here, etc. For a regular car here in Illinois it's $108 yearly. Multiply that by the millions of cars on the road.
Do they have a separate vehicle license?

Such things are not news in Asia. We don't need to jail or listen to criminals.. (Work of the devil) they should kill them all, and let them go to meet their devil. We don't need to be showing bad horroful news on tv or papers.. Kids should not see. I live in Asia , and such crims are not news. They finish them all the way they act
Nigeria needs to emulate this.

and the portal has been closed since April...

Besides, 300L students and above are new to this kind of concept...

Anyways, new word on the street is the portal has been opened. Students are just waitng for Management to make it official...
Please hope for the best but do not be delusional, there are many dimensions to this situation. Lecturers had initial suggested all scripts are marked and only those who paid be released but in the end Senate decided only those who paid should be graded. All graded and ungraded scripts have been submitted to exams and records unit so let us assume the portal is reopened as you say for fresh payment; do you think the lecturers will now go back to grade those scripts that are no longer in their possession and send the same results to Senate for approval and vetting?

There are also many students who did not pay at all who did not write exams, so if they are to pay now, will another exam be set for them?

If at all the portal is reopened it will be for those who did part payment and want to complete it, better rush and go and apply for temporal withdrawal from school because after now it will be go and buy Jamb form in December and start again preferably in another university that you guys think is favorable.

Phi001:
That's the thing.

These deadline issues came with this VC, so students are not really used to it.

The last VC(and possibly VCs before him) always kept the portal open. Some persons would only pay their fees when they wanted to graduate because school fees receipts are a compulsory criterion for clearance. Some persons did circumvent the process though.
A lot circumvented the process abated by corrupt staff.

This VC had dialogues with both students and their parents/guardians before reaching an agreement. He also was guided by the Senate of the school and even extended the time portal was to be closed. In fact the portal was closed and reopened many times before the first semester exams which in itself was also postponed so why students decided not to comply is simply inexcusable.

The next window is withdrawal from school and again while some students are keying into that majority are feigning ignorance.

The portal is closed...

Even people that have their money can't pay...
Very true, the point is timelines even when extended should not be taken for granted. We all should learn to plan and take responsibility for our actions.
