It is quite unfortunate that lives were lost, no amount of money can be giving in exchange for a life.

Some sights

As of now, no police in sight in Delta Park. Rioting boys have given the girls till 6pm to pack that they will return to burn the hostels.

The students went to the house of UPTH CMD and destroyed all the cars packed outside.

They then destroyed all the windows of all the hostels, Admissions office.

They then destroyed the windows of the house of the former VC and his wife's personal car.

They went to staff club and tumbled the place upside down.

I think it's exam fees they put up there cz my sister paid over 90k for year two and over 100k in her year 1

Noted

Beautiful sunshine, everybody is waiting for the outcome of the senate meeting.

It is claimed that one of the person dead is mgt faculty president.

vivavik:
Why the inscription "Lale must go" prof Ajieyinka started it and not from prof. Lale's time. They should focus on protesting for reduction and not for the VC to go

The level of destruction and looting has overcast the fee reduction protest.

Aluu is calm now, shooting stopped, gentle sunny breeze.

Senate meeting underway, looks like shit has hit the fan.

Please where is fiftynaira o?

anslemkel:
U guys misunderstood the whole issue. The issue here is not about 45k sch fees, its about losing a session if u hv not paid up till now. This is just d first semester and most of us is at the verge of losing a session for not paying fees in the first semester of a session. what we are saying is dat dey should give us time to pay and let us write our exams.

Even after second semester those affected will not still pay. They will now bring another logic of paying when they graduate.

Sori bro... Management sciences faculty. Reports are a bit shaky in d midst of d pandermonium

No P, everything is happening very fast, Aluu now is feeling the vibration, people running helter skelter and yet the police have not come.

Casualty is said to be 3 and rising.

No light in Aluu by the way.

@krystalzkriz

you guys are going on a forced holiday for a very, very long time, then 45k will look so small not to talk of the extra damages.

Ekob:
Otokx tnx fr d continuous update..As an Alumni of dis school i support the rationale for the protest...but i don't support d violence...
life lost can neva be regain

more lives may be lost as the hours pass, with the crew entering Aluu mourning the students.

some reports coming in suggest some rioters are armed.

crownedrookie:
Reliable intel suggests a student has been killed in the course of the protest. From reports he seemed to be a final year student in the faculty of law. Rest his soul

faculty of Law has no undergraduate student.

fiftynaira:
An unconfirmed report has itThat a student have been shot... will confirm and report ASAP cos I am typing and also running

Shey I tell you make you comot for their you no gree, even locked small businesses in Choba campus the rioters tried to break the locks and loot the laptops for sale.

Offices in Choba locked where also broken into and looted.

fiftynaira:

Dangote truck containing pastas have been destroyed, coca cola truck too is not left out gunshots can be heard, students re been tear gased funny they re washing there faces with water and have held sway in east west road making it there habitat

kudos to your timely update but please leave that place, something terrible is coming that way.

armyofone:
45,000 for a year as school fees is not bad.
Maybe discuss with your school to spread it over the semester....

There may be more to this than school fees, believe you me because adequate notice had been giving.

More than 2 lecture free days, majority of the students having read just wanted to write the exams and move on but for the less than 5%.

lordthree:
Where are you choba or alakahia

Delta Park/Choba at the moment.

lordthree:
I don't understand why the police weren't involved early on, giving students room to destroy offices, 45k isn't too much to ask for let's be honest, the annoying part is these students spend their school fees on either weavon or on their girlfriends and flexing, I went to uniport so I know , the funny part is these students spent years praying for admission into a university, Now they have gotten it they are acting like animals.

I'm just pissed off cause I really wanted to complete my clearance this week so I leave that school for them

The Uniport Security department underestimated the scope of the problem?

How can you withdraw from the main gates?

Gunshot o, Gunshot o, Police no dey look uche face o.

Sunny weather back, sounds of gunshots everywhere.

Unconfirmed reports indicate a casualty.

@Lordthree

This thing was well planned and adequately sponsored, that is our postulation, unfortunately the authorities thought they were dealing with normal students hence the non invitation of police into the campus even up till now.

Indomie was peacefully acquired from an Indomie delivery van.

Protesters dancing to DJ, eating and cooking indomie while still blocking the East West road.

Weather is changing, gunshots are being heard, looks like the party is over.

passionate88:
It isn't politically motivated, The VC is just being stubborn or trying to be strict.

First time in history, all year 1 students have matriculation number before today. That is what you call being stubborn or trying to be strict.

Dancing to DJ that was hired by who?? People that don't have money for fees. It's alright.

missyadorable:
Lecture halls in Abuja campus)EtF,Cbn,clinical faculty vandalized

Who is going to suffer this?

The same students

This thing may be politically motivated to portray Buhari as an oppressor, its a pity even within the school mgt they have those on both sides of the divide.

All the female hostels in Delta Park vandalized.

Senior Staff Club totally vandalized

Peaceful demonstrators indeed.
