Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Mckinsey 2016 (march) PST Invite by ototoyi: 3:55pm On Jun 14, 2016
Hi everyone, I just wrote my SHL test. I was wondering how long you'll need to wait for them to get back to you?

Also looks like ADH is going to focus on public sector development in Africa while the Mckinsey Nigeria team is more private sector oriented. I was wondering if anyone knows why the division is being created.

Please how do I get a true answer on my VISA/passport Status.
NiV lagos is sending generic emails which isnt much help and the help line is completely automated, you don't get to speak to anyone

I tried checking my Status on ceac.gov and it showed 'NO STATUS' for so long until I sent an email asking if it was an error, then it was changed to 'READY'

Is there any means to check that will give me a truthful picture?
Thankyou

Good morning VISA officer.
I had my interview on the 11th of August for a J1 VISA for a Masters degree in the States (my sponsors insisted on J1 so I could be subject to the 2 year residency requirement).

My VISA was approved and I was told to pick up in 3 days. I went to the pickup center but my passport wasn't there. I emailed LagosNIV and they said its still being processed and that they'ld contact me when its ready.

Its almost 2 weeks now and I haven't heard anythiing. I am so worried because my school has given me until the 28th of August to arrive otherwise I lose a year and lose my full scholarship.

I thought the consulate was considerate of students and resumption dates but it doesn't look like that anymore

Please what can I do in my case?
Passport no: A04503391
Thank you

Dear VO,
Thanks for your reply. I noticed that someone in the thread had a similar situation and she got her passport after 10 business days.

I'm not under administrative processing, my status just says 'your passport is with the US consulate'.

I have asked for more time from my school so I all I can do is hope that it comes out this week.

Will update the forum on what happens, incase someone else has the same issue.

Have a pleasant day and thank you for your reply

LagosNIV:

We are as considerate as we can be, but we must also comply with U.S. laws. If additional administrative processing was required we have no way of determining how long this will take. It is very unfortunate but is also one of the risks of waiting to apply for your visa until the last few weeks before you travel.

Same thing with me. Mine was since 11th of August. I don't know what to do cos if I don't get my passport in 1 week, I will lose an opportunity of a lifetime

Dear VO,
I today received a response from lagosNIV stating that my visa is not ready and some applications take longer to process than anticipated.
Does this mean my application is undergoing administrative processing? I was not given any slip stating administrative processing at the interview I was only told visa approved go for collection in two days.
How do I find out a time frame within which my visa will be ready, my travel date is fast approaching...
Thanks.

Its sounds like u re in Nigeria, bcoz u were asking about Visa interview in Lagos n I was asking to confirm, and now u re implying u re outside Nigeria. I asked bcoz I'm interested in Cash not wired money. I wasn't harsh In anyway, ur questions re just confusing n needs further clarification

Sorry Mbeenox for lashing out on you. Yes I am in Nigeria at the moment. No, I don't have cash. I intend to make a transfer to your US or Canadian account from mine while you pay into my nigerian account. So for this to work, u need an account in the states or in canada.
