Nigerian Comedian, Prince Neche shocked after a girl he asked out in 2010 accepted in 2018 (SEE CHATS)

The whole of Nigeria was let down when Super Eagles lost to Argentina 2-1 in an intense match up last night.

With the game tied at 1-1, Nigeria players surrounded the referee when it appeared that Marcos Rojo handballed the ball in his own penalty area in the second half of the clash. The match official used VAR, but decided against awarding the spot-kick, much to the dismay of Nigerians.

Super Eagles might have had a possible win if they were awarded the penalty. Nigerians felt they were robbed by the Turkish referee, Cuneyt Cakir.

Rojo later sent Argentina through with a late goal to make the score 2-1, but Nigeria captain John Obi Mikel feels his team were hard done by.

“I don’t understand how that wasn’t a penalty, for me it was a clear handball,” he said, according to FourFourTwo.

“It was a clear penalty. Maybe the referee has given the first penalty and doesn’t want to give a second one.

“But a penalty is a penalty. He (the referee) looked at the VAR, (we asked him) did the ball hit the hand? He said ‘yes’, but why it’s not a penalty? I don’t understand.”

Nigerians worldwide however felt cheated and they stormed social media to express their anger and lucky enough, they were able to fish out the Instagram account of Cakir where they have since been dropping several insulting and derogatory comments.

The Turkish referee’s Instagram page has since garnered over 19,000 comments from angry Nigerians. Some even went as far as wishing death upon him and raining curses on his children.

One angry user wrote; “Useless son of a bitch how could you decide not to give the penalty even your VAR team knew it was a penalty all you do is to say ball to hand May Allah in his mercy punish you, and Judge your accordingly ,your fellow Turkish citizen will pay for this, the only way they is if they are not on dating sites, go rot in hell”

Another had this to say; “God will punish you …Heaven will reject your soul..even the devil will see you coming and he will close his gate for what you did …useless fool”

Iran were awarded a penalty during a meeting with Portugal on Monday after Sardar Azmoun nodded the ball onto the arm of Cedric.

Technology was also used in that incident, but Nigeria missed out on getting a favourable call 24 hours later.

Mikel, as captain of his country, led the discussion with referee Cuneyt Cakir and, despite appearing to have been informed that the ball had struck Rojo’s head first, the former Chelsea midfielder claims to have received no suitable explanation as to why a spot kick was not given.

But video replays suggested that there was no intent from Rojo to move his arm anywhere near the ball, as he was looking in a different direction when he headed it sideways. It thus appeared unintentional as Rojo headed the ball inadvertently down onto his arm.

While Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr also believed the penalty should have been awarded, he was more understanding of Cakir’s position.

“I believe it was a hand,” he said. “I didn’t see the video. It is difficult for a referee to make a good interpretation.”

An unidentified Man was begging after being stopped from taking his bath at a T-junction in Lagos.

Two Switzerland players are being investigated by FIFA over their goal celebrations in the team's 2-1 World Cup win against Serbia.

Granit Xhaka and Xherdan Shaqiri both made hand signals that appeared to imitate the double-headed eagle on the Albanian flag.

The pair, who have ethnic Albanian heritage and whose roots are in Kosovo, put their open hands together with their thumbs locked and fingers outstretched.

The thumbs represent the heads of the two eagles, while the fingers look like the feathers.

Football's world governing body has begun disciplinary proceedings against the players over their apparent Albanian nationalist gestures.

It has also opened disciplinary proceedings against the Serbian Football Association for crowd disturbance and the display of political and offensive messages by Serbian fans. And it is reviewing statements that Serbia coach Mladen Krstajic made after the match.

FIFA outlaws all political messages or symbols in stadiums and the two players could be banned for up to two games if they are found to have breached their rules.

Many people in the former Serbian province of Kosovo, which has an ethnic Albanian majority, identify with the red and black flag.

A Serbian crackdown on Kosovo Albanian rebels in 1998-1999 only ended when NATO intervened.

Kosovo declared independence in 2008 but Serbia does not recognise the status, and relations between the two countries remain tense.

The Serbian media called Shaqiri's goal gesture "shameful provocation".

Shaqiri said his celebration in the Kaliningrad stadium was "just emotion" but added he was not allowed to talk about politics.

The Serbian football association reportedly complained to FIFA before the game about the Kosovo flag on one of Shaqiri's boots. The Swiss flag is on his other shoe.

"We sought that he change the boots. It was a provocation, we were playing against Switzerland, not Kosovo," team official Jovan Surbatovic told Serbian state-run broadcaster RTS

Shaqiri was born in Kosovo, while Xhaka's parents are originally from Kosovo. His brother plays for Albania's national team.

Let me tell u a not so short story. A few years ago, when I was 15 years old, still in secondary school, I was obsessed with Eedris Ahdulkarim, you know the kind of obsession that u talk about him 24/7 yup that was me, everybody in class called me Eedris, so one day I couldn't take it anymore, I asked Linda to help me beg Emmanuel Ugolee @Emmaugolee who was the god of entertainment tv then to introduce me to him, so Linda got Eedris' number from Emmanuel and we called Eedris. I was young, only 16, naive, new to entertainment, obsessed etc but not for 1 day did Eedris ever ever take advantage of my obsession or naivity. And he made sure that nobody from his crew took advantage of this smallie. He warned them all not to funk with me or they 're in trouble.

Eedris took me as a daughter, he mentored me and thought me how to rap. I walked, talked and rapped like Eedris hahahhaa. And when I started mixing with other celebrities, they all wanted to take advantage , they all wanted one thing, well, as per young girl wey just enter industry na, that one na sweet fish. Alot of all the celebrities I came across wanted to take advantage but not Eedris.
This man Eedris, is the reason I can beat my chest and say I never messed with any entertainer during and after my rapping days. He's one of the reasons I'm a very decent woman till date.
