Education / How To Read And Concentrate For Long Hours With Ease by Otutuama: 1:06pm On Feb 27, 2019
Ways on How to read for long hours and concentrate with Ease;

1. You have to deliberate about reading and set targets:
Every time one is not deliberate about reading, focus is lost quickly and fatigue sets in. Being deliberate simply means planning for it, reading should be planned, that’s what makes it has to be deliberate; setting up the place, time and books to read. This goes a long way to keep your concentration on reading for a long time because you have programmed your mind for that purpose. Along with being deliberate is working with set goals. In every reading one must have set goals which must be accomplished within a certain time. Taking into consideration your environment, the books and everything around you as well as your reading speed, you can allocate time to every reading target you have as it will aid you in reading for long hours without losing concentration. Being deliberate about reading and planning with set goals are crucial to your reading stamina.

2. Read in the right environment:
Environments also affect our reading stamina, being in the right environment can enhances and improves one’s reading stamina; reading for long hours without losing concentration. The next question would be: “what is the right environment ?” The right environment entails the environment one takes delight in reading, for example a student likes reading with music, that’s his/her environment, another may just like silence, that’s his/her environment. You don’t pick your environment base on anything but yourself, what you enjoy when you read and it enhances your reading. Being in the right environment is of great importance as it goes a long way to aid your reading. It can be likened to being in a place one is comfortable and another that is not comfortable; which do you think will enjoy himself/herself? And of course, the one enjoys himself/herself will last longer in such environment.

3.Know and work with your reading ability:
Everybody does not possess same reading abilities. As we have different faces and names so also our reading abilities are different. Some are slow readers, others may be fast readers while some others could be faster. When you are very aware of your reading ability, it makes you plan effectively. By context here, ability of reading entails how fast you understand as you read. You must work with your reading ability in other to be efficient in reading, as a philosopher once said, “man know thyself “. One being a fast reader may choose to study off his/her environment which is wrong but still meet up with his/her targets stipulated but this will not work for a slow reader.

Do not follow the crowd:
Many students today are moved and influenced by the “crowd”. Let’s see what being moved by the crowd means; doing things because others or a particular person is doing it. No, this is totally wrong and unhealthy in reading, as it will limit you to the ” crowd’s” reading ability not yours. For example after examining yourself, you discovered you cannot read at night, as not everyone enjoys reading at night, because your friends or course mates reads at night always and they are being applauded for it doesn’t mean you should follow that path because it will yield little or no result, if necessity demands it, fine but if not, do not be moved by the crowd, but be moved by yourself for yourself because you are the one that know yourself.

Know your dislikes and likes in reading;
Everyone has his/her best reading books and courses and as a student we don’t get to study at our convenience all the time, there must be a shift and we must move along that shift if we are to thrive through as a student. Of course as a student, you must know your best books and courses, it is advisable you read such courses at the certain times a “shift” comes up. A shift in this context simply connotes operating off one’s environment. Earlier on this topic we discussed knowing one’s environmen...

Education / What You Need To Succeed In 2015 by Otutuama: 12:40am On Feb 21, 2019
The Art Of reinvention will be the most critical skill of this century because Humankind is facing unprecedented revolutions, all our old stories are crumbling, and no new story has so far emerged to replace them. How can we prepare ourselves and our children for a world of such unprecedented transformations and radical uncertainties? A baby born today will be thirty-3one in 2050. If all goes well, that baby will still be around in 2100 and might even be an active citizen of the 22nd century. What should we teach that baby that will help them survive and flourish in the world of 2050 or the 22nd century? What kind of skills will they need in order to get a job, understand what is happening around them, and navigate the maze of life?

Unfortunately, since nobody knows what the world will look like in 2050 — not to mention 2100 — we don’t know the answer to these questions. Of course, humans have never been able to predict the future with accuracy. But today it is more difficult than ever before because once technology enables us to engineer bodies, brains, and minds, we will no longer be able to be certain about anything — including things that previously seemed fixed and eternal.

A thousand years ago, in 1019, there were many things people didn’t know about the future, but they were nevertheless convinced that the basic features of human society were not going to change. If you lived in China in 1019, you knew that by 1050 the Song Empire might collapse, the Khitans might invade from the north, and plagues might kill millions. However, it was clear to you that even in 1050 most people would still work as farmers and weavers, rulers would still rely on humans to staff their armies and bureaucracies, men would still dominate women, life expectancy would still be about 40, and the human body would remain exactly the same. For that reason, in 1018 poor Chinese parents taught their children how to plant rice or weave silk; wealthier parents taught their boys how to read the Confucian classics, write calligraphy, or fight on horseback, and they taught their girls to be modest and obedient housewives. It was obvious that these skills would still be needed in 1050.

To keep up with the world of 2050, you will need to do more than merely invent new ideas and products, but above all, reinvent yourself again and again.

However, today we have no idea how China or the rest of the world will look in 2050. We don’t know what people will do for a living, we don’t know how armies or bureaucracies will function, and we don’t know what gender relations will be like. Some people will probably live much longer than today, and the human body itself might undergo an unprecedented revolution, thanks to bioengineering and direct brain-to-computer interfaces. Much of what kids learn today will likely be irrelevant by 2050.

RECOMMENDED : Five Types Of Lecturers You Must Meet In The University

At present, too many schools focus on cramming information into kids’ brains through rote learning. In the past, this made sense, because information was scarce and even the slow trickle of existing information was repeatedly blocked by censorship. If you lived, say, in benin city in 1800, it was difficult for you to know much about the wider world. There was no radio, television, daily newspaper, or public library. Even if you were literate and had access to a private library, there was not much to read other than novels, religious tracts and basically oral tradition was the major means at which information is passed from one generation to another. As t this period it was only the OBA’s children that were exposed to some printed text and formal education. When modern schools came along, teaching every child to read and write and imparting the basic facts of geography, history, and biology, they represented an immense improvement.

In contrast, in the 21st century, we are flooded with enormous amounts of information, and the censors don’t even try to block it.....

Education / Re: Everything You Need To Know About Cryptocurrencies In 2018 by Otutuama: 3:23am On Oct 26, 2018
Cyptocurrencies is the future
Education / Everything You Need To Know About Cryptocurrencies In 2018 by Otutuama: 3:21am On Oct 26, 2018
There’s now over 1300 cryptocurrencies on coinmarketcap.com, and dozens of exchanges, and many layers of technologies to understand. The crypto world can be quite overwhelming for newcomers, and it takes plenty of time and research to understand how to get started, and to avoid costly mistakes.

I’ll attempt to breakdown the basics and the major things every investor should know, including what crypto wallets are and how to use them, how to trade, where to trade, what to look for in good projects, and general advice that I’ve personally learned from investing in this space since the beginning of the year.

Getting started with cryptocurrencies ?
Here’s the topics I’ll cover in this article:

Wallets
Wallets are like bank accounts for your tokens. I’ll go over all the major types of wallets and how to use them.
Exchanges
How to send money to get started on popular exchanges.
Trading
How to start trading, and things you should understand about the crypto markets.
Managing your portfolio
Apps to help you get a better understanding of your gains & losses, and how to watch tokens and prices.
Security & safety
Tips on maximizing security for your holdings, best practices, and how to avoid phishing scams, etc.
Common mistakes
Costly mistakes you should avoid.
General tips & advice
Advice that I’ve found helpful from my own experiences, from trading, to research, etc.
Resources
Useful resources to learn more about the disruptive technology behind cryptocurrencies, keep up with crypto news, communities to engage in, and more.
Wallets
Wallets are like your crypto bank accounts, and different wallets store different tokens.

To trade any crypto currency, you first need a wallet for to store them, ie: Bitcoin needs to be kept in a Bitcoin wallet. Wallets are exactly like they sound, they’re like a crypto bank account.

How to get a wallet
The easiest way is to sign up to an exchange that allows you to buy, trade, or sell cryptocurrencies, they allow you to generate a wallet for every token that they trade, even if you don’t own any. Coinbase for example, gives you a wallet for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash.

Crypto Wallets don’t actually hold anything, unlike a physical one.
An important thing to understand is that wallets are simply a secure “window” into the blockchain so you can view your records and transactions. Think of it like Gmail, where your wallet is your Gmail login and password, but you’re not actually storing the emails yourself, you’re simply accessing it. Your tokens and transactions are saved on a blockchain, which is distributed across a vast network. So it’s always there, no matter if you lose your wallet. You just won’t be able to access or do anything with the tokens without your wallet.

How to send and receive tokens between wallets
Every Wallet has its own unique address, so if you trade on 3 different exchanges, you will have a different Wallet and address for each exchange, for each token. Think of them as a different website address or URL.

Wallet addresses are currently a very long string of characters, called a hash.

Industrial Training is a training that students undergo in order to learn the practical applications of their study in the field mainly an Industry or organization, The main reason for Industrial Training is to allow the student experience real job scenarios and also for them to have a practical knowledge and hands on skill on their field of study.

For Industrial Training, institutions where the student studies will continually play a vital role during the course of the industrial training which may include sourcing the placement for them and sending university based supervisor to supervise them unlike internship which is more of a job but with less benefits than what you would normally get working as a full staff.
