oluomoadebayo:What if he's got a few trained APBTs or Kangals. Would you still go ahead? P.S. The money is he's by the way. If at all you got mauled by his dogs, you'd have to give him 50k from your part. To make it even 2 Likes |

JAccksnow:I usually suggest Wormreed or Pyramoate and Ivermectin(also kills lungworms and tapes too) The normal wormin500 too. The common deworming pill you'll see in pet stores are Prazi Wormer and Abendazole Bolus ... The theory Prazi Wormer as an harsh effect on dogs especially those above 10kg. From plenty experience, I noticed that any dog that is given this pill usually have either an upsetting stomach or weak feeling or looses appetite for a long duration of time (I'm not affirming that your dog might, infact your dog could be exceptional from this. But on most of the dogs have noticed, it gives an harsh effect). Abendazole: Not that effective, tried it couple of times and yet ... I was told all these theories by a real real experienced vet infact the NDA co-ordinator in Nigeria(some of you might know him, google will help too). So I tried it out and saw they were true. It could be different for your dogs 1 Like |

iyanuakin:Like the usual bath soap? Yh, you can Some of the bath soaps you use can always be used as substitutes for the dog shampoo(but this is better since it is made specifically for dogs). |

iyanuakin:Its your choice. But no matter your decision, you gotta have a vet on standby just in case of any sick-feeling. iyanuakin=:Not yet brotha, we wouldn't want her running off would we? Let her get accustomed to that boundary(its spacious, weldone) Then after a few weeks, let her have a view of the entire environment. Stay with her to notice everything she does(picking bone scraps, licking dirt water, trying to run off or any other thing) Then correct her subtly and show her the right thing to do. If she tries to run off, brotha you'll have to put her back in that restricted space so that you can build a better relationdhip with her. After you notice she has gotten acquianted with you and her boundary, you can then bring her out again. p.s Not all local dogs are meant to be treated as local Let her stay indoor as a pet yunno 3 Likes |

One of the best and less stressful method a canine can get aggressive, guardful or the barking type is by spending time with another canine that does all these things. Infact if you wanna introduce any character in your dog, one of the best way is associating the dog with the one who has the desired character(s) The essence of dogs like Lhasa Apso is to alert and bark(Dai lama shii).z You never wondered why the first dogs to bark in a kennel are always those naughty dogs(Lhasa Apsos)? Yunno experience makes us know that keeping your huge or dumb dogs with Lhasas will trigger them(dumb) to bark and always be at alert. That's why you notice most breeders having 1or2 Lhasas with their big-assed-dogs. Ok, It doesn't neccessarily have to be a Lhasa, just any dog that has your desired character. "Socialisation is key" I hope you fathom that Cheers anyway! 5 Likes |

Olayinkaji:Isolation huh? Yh I usually did recommend that and another But there's something off about this isolation tingy. Yh it makes the dog bark, but its not always out of boldness. It could either be out of fear or inquisitiveness Now, the lil time you get to bring the dog out to do the neccessities will make her filled with so much joy cause of the fact that she hardly sees daylight or step-out. She will be hyperactive(the jumping, noisemaking n all). Some dogs might not even wanna obey orders cause they focus more on the fun they getting at that moment. So the catch?, don't be surprised if you isolate your dog for a whole month and she still barks out of fear or she's less guardful P.s this method works for most people, not all Let us know her response to it the chang Cheers! 5 Likes |

Rany4all:Yes yes...this is very very important. A vet or a real experienced person should be the one to administer the rightful steps cause those labels on the container don't really tell that much. Thank you Rany4all Awesome! thread by the way, these captivated me, from the storyline to the cutties in the photos. Yunno you've actually given us a lot of suspense lol, you would not mind if you can chip out lil time to share some photos of how they look now right. I'm certain they would be monsters by now, haha! Cheers! 2 Likes |

Olayinkaji:Lol, yunno everything shouldn't be magic or miracle You just got her today and you expect her to be what? defending the house? barking at people already? (it shouldn't be quite so sir) Dogs are social animals, before they make certain moves they must have had lil or a big relationship with that particular thing. Now the relationship in this aspect is she blending with her new environment. And developing a bond with you and with any other person or pet you decide to introduce her to. I'm definitely sure you'd have been scared and worried if she had started guarding the house the very first "minute" she lands in So brothamahn, patience is key. So also is socialisation What your main objective should be right now is you building your bond with her. And as you said, she's a GSD. So its only natural for her to be defensive and guardful(that's if she's got the original[or close to] traits and temperaments tho). So no need to bother. Cheers! 4 Likes |

alfchye: You gotta fumigate and disinfect/sanitize your environment cause any dog you bring in there is gonna contact the virus no matter the history of vaccines it has had Those viruses are bad-ass criminalz! They specialize in taking cute lives! 1 Like |

They look good, weldone! Alimosho huh By the way, don't limit your awareness to nairaland alone. Share their photos on groups on facebook and other onluine platforms also, even jiji too. And also paste printed posters in dog shops(with their permission though) at your area, that's where some pet owners get 60% of their clients from. (p.s. just admiring, no interest in buying) 2 Likes |
