LTGEN:allies? This is interesting ![]() |
This is because a lot of people don't have sense. Look at our Senate for example, how many of them have sense? Look at Aso Rock how many people there have sense? Look at Nnamdi Kano do you think he have sense. Look at the Yoruba's and Igbos on here fighting everytime and insulting themselves do you think they have sense? Look at Tinubu he has sense, look at Azikiwe he has sense but look at all those people that lost their live while fighting the civil war and we can't remember fheir name today do you think they had sense? That's it. Most people are stupid. I ran a research on the number of people I meet daily and I realise that on average I meet atleast 50 stupid people everyday and that's just in Akure. What of if I traveled to Enugu, Kano or Bayelsa. I would realise that I am surrounded by stupidity. Please don't be stupid. Be different, like this comment and tell yourself it's not all about Ethnicism stupidity has no ethnic group. If you steal, you steal because you are stupid not because you are a igbo or Yoruba man, if you kill you kill because you want to kill not because of your ethnicity. This two fools fought because they are stupid and if they died another stupid person will check their name for their tribe cus he is also stupid. And then one other stupid person will try to defend his tribe cus he is stupid. Now that we all know how stupid people behave. I want to see the stupid person that would quote nonsense. |
Nigerdeltaboi:yes it does Very soon you go start to wear JF17 crested boxers. Everything is now a sign.SSBN:thank you Joor you make sense always. |
lionel4power:YeA he had some very brilliant minds there he could have used to build a big defence blog. But dude cannot see past his balls. Peccavi's Sitreps on the French operation in Mali where just too professional. That dude have a brain the size of a Fvcking water melon. |
lionel4power:it's ok men. I should never have mentioned Beegs in the first place. The dude is dead to me. |
scully95:My man Zohariel come in here. Here is an interesting read for us. It seem like the morale of our under world army is ever so high. Like the virus called Monkey Pox itself our influence spread through the threads of Nairaland feasting on the wisdom of those that have disdained our very existence, and corrupting the mind of the weak Lily livered swines that still hold on to the most disdainful western ideologies. I look forward to the day when you and I shall ride on horse back to the very gate of Amurica and bring down fire upon her walls, tonight is not that night so I will feast on fried rice and plantain and bang my most beloved woman. Much regards to a man who saw the "heat of the cold war" was it really cold? |
That Ighalo boy is making me cry. He is just there destroying the prospect of us playing for the cold cup. I really need to say that I don't like him and he is not a Nigerian kind of player. nemesis4u:nice perspective Nemesis. You are one very brilliant pervert. ![]() |
nemesis4u:leave Nigeria my brother. The people in charge don't know what they want. They would even buy that flying bicycle that, that Chinese guy used to post on here for COIN if they know the deal would come with enough side cash. They move in some of our safest cities with well armed convoys that you would almost believe they are about to rerun the Normandy landing, while our boys are in the frontline with SoftSkinned utility trucks living in tent made from tatch. So forget it. I keep saying that some of the most unpatriotic elements In this country can be found at the helms of power. If a good customer make the offer and they can get away with it they will even sell Nigeria and fly off somewhere to live. We spend billions of dollars each year to provide for the maintenance, feeding and vacations of this bastards and they tell me they want to buy super Tucano to protect us. With no future prospect of us buying a frontline fighter I think it is foolishness for anyone to think the Tucano deal will be followed by that of a multi-role platform. We will fly that Plane for years if it is bought and even use it to defend democracy in West Africa. The hell we may even talk tough to France with our Tucano. But I tell you one day we will face the reality of all this recklessness and when we do it would be the poor man who can't buy a ticket out of the country that would suffer it. |
SSBN:corruption my brother. That guy saying we don't need air defence asset is as ridiculous as a man saying he does not have to lock his door cus he lives in a peaceful neighborhood. So because we don't have any hostile neighbours we now assume that a world that have been fighting itself since the creation of man would remain peaceful. Dude we are actors in a hostile and unfriendly international system and power and force is the only language that is understood in this system. Power may not be the reality of you wanting to invade and overthrow a government or another state but it is the fact that if you want to, you can do it and do it over and over again without anybody questioning you. Power may not be the fact that you can stand up successfully in a confrontation against the United State but it is the fact that if the United States stands up against your country and its ideal you will create widows and orphans out of some Yankee families and that is enough detterence to the United State to think twice and weigh the consequences. We have since lost our strategic economic power cus of the global oil crisis. Now even if the United States kill or imprison 100 Nigerian Citizens abroad we cannot do anything about it. Infact we will keep begging them to buy our oil. Cuz we do not have any other way to sustain us as a nation. Then were the days when Nigeria could sanction Britain by stopping British oil from producing oil in Nigeria but it can't happen today. People keep echoeing we don't need interceptors and 4th generation fighters and that's a very funny but dangerous assertion because the vast majority of those against the idea of purchasing a capable frontline fighter for the Airforce are those who may in future be in charge of decision making in this areas. Somebody mentioned feel good factor, but I disagree it is not feel good factor sir. It is a thing that brings confidence, prestige, National morale, Negotiating power and detterence. Some nations procure this things not because they would ever need them but because it gives them a ticket to the "table". Imagine that we just acquired Nuclear weapons and that same month the Nigerian Defence Chief paid a visit to Russia and part of his intinery was to visit some of the Russian Nuclear sites where Nuclear grade uraniums are being enriched. Do you think the US president would sleep easy that night? That visit would be closely monitored by US intelligence and if after that visit Nigeria offers to improve military relations with the US, my brother you will see the level of exercise that the US will want to organize with us. If we ask the US for even F18 we will get it. Why because in the international system nobody wants a well armed man to be a friend to his enemy. That is when you will start hearing "Donald Trump to pay courtsey visit to Nigeria" or "US/Nigeria to collaborate in development of a Joint attack plane" Buying this things sometimes is not because of the reality of a threat but it is to ensure that the threat never comes up. Personally I am quite surprised that a great nation like Nigeria have survived for this long without such things, how come? Despite our strong stance in international Organizations? Cameroon would treat Anglophone Cameroonians well if we had certain capabilities, Yahaya wouldn't have waited for us to come and meet him at home if we had some level of capabilities, we would have been running surveillance flight from Maiduguri to as far as Northern Mali or Southern Libya to track Weapon sales and to destroy terrorist supply convoys headed to West Africa if we had certain capabilities. Boko Haram would have remained a rag tag terror groups if we had certain capabilities. So there is no need to defend our corrupt leaders. If they see the need to change their official car every year and the procurement of those cars always go through then there is no need to be telling Nigerians that it is a Turboprop that will guarantee their nations security. As for the JF17 I believe the Pakistanis would be very willing to see a foreign country rondel on the plane as soon as possible so I don't think the delay is from them. I think we all know where it is from or we fear were it may be coming from. |
Odunayaw:and then you open the blog and comment whatever your egotistical mind ask you to write. It's the same thing. One understands one topic and speaks well about it, another thinks he is good at everything and despise others for sharing their opinion about topics that he thinks he is a pro at. I would be surprised if I get to know your kind of person, who you are and how much you have achieved but have you thought about it the other way, what if we are both surprised when we see each other and realise that commenting on this military threads are some of the greatest minds that the country have ever seen. Dude forget my sarcasm I respect una oh. You guys are very bright. But we all have different opinions either the person commenting is a trader or a carpenter the good thing is that the person wants to see a better and stronger Nigeria. |
This would change the future of marine transportation. People may soon begin to drive themselves around in such craft on sea. |
LTGEN:wise man. Nice one. A Somalia that does not have hospital facilities and basic infrastructure is the one that they are building that kind of structure in. If they want to help let them build a Turkish university of science, let them build Turkish hospitals and let them build water systems and roads. |
newafricaken254:despite the corruption in the Nigerian military even some officers quarters will leave you surprised. Some of our military hospital complex will leave you stunned. We have some great facilities here. The last is a Girls school for officers kids.

homerac7:dude an AC130 is simply a C130 with attack capabilities a country can chose to do that upgrade. But that's not my point. Purchasing 12 planes that is dedicated to fighting terrorism after the war against terror is almost over is a complete waste. If everybody agrees that a Nigeria that does not have one single full fledged multi-role platform that can hold it's own in a contested airspace in this 21st century or that would play the role of an interceptor then I don't think there is a need for us to have an Air Force maybe we should call it an Air support force or the Army Air wing. In conclusion. We are way too far behind to be spending so much on 12 aircraft's that would only protect us from our citizens that takes the path of Militancy. The Terrorists are in such a state that spending more on the JF17 which is already in our cart would have been a wiser step. 3 JF17(whose status are debateable) and twelve Tucanoes. I don't know what we all think but I think it's not right. |

LTGEN:Oga don't write point of correction. You are writing your opinion not correcting anybody. Except you are one of the decision makers that know everything about the deal, the deep and the lows or Air Force Spokes Person then you have no justifiable intellectual bearing on this matter to be correcting anybody. Just write your opinion and leave am like that. Secondly. the conditions under which these planes are coming are too humbling, too expensive and they are too over rated. The Tucano is the perfect COIN aircraft but outside COIN what benefits does it offer? Why buy twelve attack planes that we can only operate within Nigeria apart from insurgency are we planning to go to war against ourselves? 12 turboprop attack planes That Won't see the Air in a contested airspace for 600mils. What the Tucano does now future developments in Air technology would see drones and unmanned planes doing them within the nearest future so what's with the 30years thing. The C130 is no longer the ultimate cargo plane but it fulfils it role well and nobody doubts that. It's now obvious there was no plan to phase it out when it was being procured. But why buy a plane that have been in use for seventy years now and say you want to operate it for thirty years to come. Dude when you talk you think oh. Do you want your kids future to be protected by super tucanoes? You want your kids to live in a country whose national security is guaranteed by turboprops. When nations of the world are already partnering for future fighter programs you are telling me you want to operate Tucanoes for years. Even the SU-25 and the fair child republics A10 warthog will soon be replaced by better systems and drones. Just watch. Even those many story about the aircraft been expensive cus of PGMs , training consoles and maintenance will soon change we will soon be faced with some frightening but unavoidable truths about this deal. Boko Haram that you chased out of Sambisa with Alpha jets now you want to buy PGM' s and tucano to do what? When you needed it we nor see. Now it's time to re-build the military into a standard conventional Armed Forces after all the tweaking to our doctrine that came with us fighting a non conventional force, you say you want to buy 12 turboprops to chase terrorists which terrorists? You want border patrol platform buy drones. Those saying it would be used for border patrol where are you getting your info from. Did the airforce specify it would use it in that role? We ve tried to buy the Tucanoes for almost 6 years unsuccessfully what that means is there have been a gap all this time that needs to be filled. At this point in our war against terror even a C130(A) would be a threat to the disorganised and disoriented terrorists but it's now that we are buying an expensive plane meant for "COIN alone " A plane that you won't even contemplate calling up if there is a convoy of terrorist moving with some serious anti Aircraft Guns. If a ZSU can bring down a russian SU25 then the obvious can be the truth about our expensive "sophisticated " turboprop trainers when they go against anti aircraft guns. With those birds in the sky the terrorist confidence of survival will be improved. They now have the confidence that the bird in the sky can be brought down, it is no longer a mystic iron clad angel of death. It's just a super tucano that we can shoot down if we are lucky. |
LTGEN:so you want to use a turboprop for thirty years. When people have already started initiating and sponsoring advanced future fighter programs. Dude. One SU25 gets downed and that makes the Tucano a better plane? OK. Face an F18 with a Tucano and let's see what becomes of the pilot and his plane. Cus the SU25 was shot down by one of those. The US that has this plane also operate the A10 warthog and it remained their preferred platform for close air support. Buying the Tucano may be a good idea but buying twelve of it at that price even if they are going to mount it with a telescope is ridiculous. You use 6 years to order for a plane today then when you need armament or spare parts for it you will use another 6 years to wait. Who is deceiving who? Those saying we can easily get parts from Brazil should sit down and be deceiving themselves. If US is not going to sell you parts then nobody else will have the guts to do that. No nation will risk the frown of a big power because they want to supply worthless scrap iron to one African country. If US decide to stop selling parts to us, even North Korea may not want to sell us those parts. What do they have to gain? International relations goes beyond buying and selling. |
komekn:brother I really don't know why we are even thinking of buying those planes and to consider the fact that we ve been bidding for them since 2012. Other serious Air Force have inducted so many classes of aircraft's since then. The SU25, THE Yak 130 and so many aircraft will fulfill it's role and so many other roles by also serving as trainers for future pilots on a jet propelled platform. But somehow the thing just tire me. E dey weak me Wen people will be designing the aircraft like it is the best that can happen. Many better jets are out there and for cheaper and less humbling conditions. If we buy those aircraft to fight terror what happens when the war against terror is over? Are we going to send them into storage or use them as trainers for our pilots? Why is the jet so expensive? Even if they are building the needed infrastructure to sustain the jet here the cost is too much for just twelve turboprops.another question is isn't it foolish to spend so much on a sophisticated turboprop? there are too many questions to be asked my brother. And I strongly believe we are not asking them. 12 turboprops for more than 500 million dollars to fight terror. Then the terrorists have won already na. If they can force us to tie such amount on an aircraft that cannot and will not adapt to the dynamic and elvoving future threats that may face the nation then why buy it then. If they are purchasing 3 or 6 it's understandable not a whooping 12 of a plane that could best be used by farmers for spreading insecticide on a carrot farm. It is just the equivalent of giving a Camry an expensive refub and then calling it a sport car and saying it can hold it's own against other sport cars in the race track. In my own opinion the Tucano is another example of the incompetence and unpatriotic attitude of our leaders. Because of 12 turboprops that you want to use to attack terrorists which you have already better desimated without these planes, the Senate of a well recognised country is busy telling the world that your Armed Forces is unprofessional and they abuse and kill civilians. Yet you ve seen no reasons to stop any further bid of arm procurement from that country. You keep bidding and every year they keep telling the world that you have an unprofessional Armed Forcesand you kept it up, as if you are the sponsor of an elaborate smear campaign against yourself. With such remarks from its main sponsor our Armed Forces have lost its credibility on the UN and other international organizations, making us somewhat of the last nation that would be selected to join a peace keeping intervention anywhere outside ECOWAS Now if God Forbid we didn't get this jet it would take our Armed Forces years and years to rebuild the trust and confidence of the international system that took many men their lives and limbs to build in some of the hottest conflict that Africa was recorded in Africa, imagine all this nonsense for a bird that would not reflect national pride, that would not in any way tilt the regional balance of power in our favor. And all this for a bird that would only fly for one season. Those saying the jets is best suited for the Niger Delta militant crises may be right, but is the Niger Delta a war zone, does that justify the procurement of 12 well armed flightless war planes? The Nigerian Leaders of today really know nothing about national pride. A course in international relations and strategy should be a requirement for leadership to avoid all this nonsense. All the men that ever made Nigeria proud got theirs from the institute of strategy at Jos, Plateau Obasanjo and Murtala including. but some ignoramus just go out there and stand in front of the whole world and make funny comments about North Korea. If the boy threathen us now we will start begging America for Javelin to shoot down ballistic missile, because that is how we buy things, not because it is effective but because it look like something that can be effective. |
