According to SIPRI Nigeria already acquired 3 RD-33 Turbofan engines from Russia in 2016. plus the JF-17 appeared in national budget alongside the 2 MI-35m (already delivered ), i think its a done deal to be honest. lets all leave speculations behind when solid facts have been presented before us.
personally I think the CDS is planning a big suprise, we all know how that man like induction ceremonies,i don't think he will sacrifice his precious jf17 induction ceremony for a MIG 29 that may not come during his tenor.

COMMANDER ROYAL JORDANIAN AIR FORCE ARRIVES IN NIGERIA ON A WEEK-LONG WORKING VISIT

The Commander of the Royal Jordanian Air Force (RJAF), Major General Yousef Al-Hnaity, has arrived in Abuja, Nigeria on a week-long working visit. The visit, which is at the invitation of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, is aimed at further exploring areas of possible collaboration between the RJAF and the Nigerian Air Force (NAF). Major General Yousef Al-Hnaity of Jordan and his delegation arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja today at exactly 1.56pm.

It is recalled that Air Marshal Abubakar visited Jordan in August this year to initiate collaboration between the RJAF and the NAF. The visit by the CAS was fruitful, leading to a promise by the RJAF to provide necessary military assistance and training to the NAF. While in Nigeria, the top military officer from Jordan will pay a courtesy call on the Honourable Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff and the CAS, all in Abuja. In addition, he will visit several NAF bases including the ones in Kaduna and Lagos. Furthermore, the Jordanian military chief will interact with NAF frontline pilots in Maiduguri and Yola.

It is hoped that Nigeria would greatly benefit from the visit of Major General Yousef Al-Hnaity, particularly in the area of capacity building for NAF pilots and aircraft engineers, who could train with their Jordanian colleagues. Besides, it is noteworthy that Jordan shares similar security challenges with Nigeria. Accordingly, the visit is also expected to facilitate the sharing of experiences that would positively impact on the global efforts to deal with terrorism.

DOPRI
this is an opportunity to start a strong relationship in defense technology with a developing nation that is already getting it right in that area. But nobody will see that kind of potential this may just end with a flimsy order and then till many years we won't hear anything again. Why not partner with the Jordinians on the design and development of their Temsah tracked heavy infantry combat vehicle or become a partner in the project by sponsoring part of it?
Or partner with them on the upgrade of some of our outdated equipments. When you partner with a developing nation a lot of restrictions are removed, you get to learn and be a part of the future. Instead of wasting years trying to partner with people that are already there and do not need you. That's why I commend NASRDA till today for knowing that Ukraine have some very serious Rocket Technology (that it inherited from the USSR ) and starting a serious partnership with it on rocket propulsion.

yeah no you need all that funds to prosecute your air campaign. You really think you have the funds to fly your short legged air crafdt to SA.
dude. If Nigeria was serious with its military, never once would there be any reason to compare it to any military in SSA. The money is there. The will isn't. Why spend millions of dollars on a military exercise when the dummies at the helms never see threats, they see investment opportunities, future stock growth but they don't see threat. Over 2billion dollars stolen in defense spending under one government.

I think states that are not aligned to the Nigerian Afro centric interests should be wary of a Nigeria that is serious with its defense spending. Irrespective of what that nation think it has now or what it thinks it will have in future. A Nigeria that is ready to fund it's military would be able to fund and sponsor such military acquisitions and trainings as has never been seen in SSA.

Never once should poverty be seen as a limitation for Nigeria in defense spending. Cluelessness and corruption is, not poverty.

Why Israel is against 2 states solution on Palestine
By Abdulrazaq O Hamzat

The United Nations Security Council meeting, an annual event, started its 72nd session few days ago at the UN Headquarters in United States of America. More than 100 world leaders, thousands of diplomats and advocates are presently in New York City, in an event scheduled to hold from 19-25 September 2017 to fashion out a way forward in pursuit of global peace and security.

This year’s theme is Focusing on people — striving for peace and a decent life for all on a sustainable planet.
On the first day of the event, precisely on 19th September 2017, world leaders took turn to address their counterparts and other participants, either in advancement of their national agenda’s, pursuit of global ideas, defense of policies or solidarity with other nations.

Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari was at the event and he spoke on variety of issues, among which include Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and the country’s role in advancing democracy in Gambia.

President Buhari also spoke about the threat of nuclear war (North Korean missile program), which he says is a crisis equal to that of Cuban (1962), when the world was close to a war.
"All necessary pressure and diplomatic efforts must be brought to bear on North Korea to accept peaceful resolution of the crisis." He said.
In staying true to Nigeria’s long term stand on the Israel and Palestine dispute, President Buhari once again declared Nigeria’s total support for a two-state solution to the conflict, calling on world leaders not to forget about the unresolved dispute.

‘’New conflicts should not make us lose focus on ongoing unresolved old conflicts’’. ‘’For example, several UN Security Council Resolutions from 1967 on the Middle East crisis remain unimplemented. Meanwhile, the suffering of the Palestinian people and the blockade of Gaza continue’’. Buhari said.

In a similar speech given last year on the same issue, President Buhari had stated that,“our support for various Security Council resolutions restoring and respecting 1967 boundaries with Jerusalem as capital of Palestine is firm and unshaken.

What president Buhari has done since coming to power is to re-emphasize Nigeria’s stand on the issue as often done by his predecessors. Nigeria is known to take a consistent stand on key global issues and this is not in any way different.

The two-state solution refers to a solution of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict which calls for "two states for two groups of people." The two-state solution envisages an independent State of Palestine alongside the Israel, west of the Jordan River. The boundary between the two states is still subject to dispute and negotiation, with Palestinian and Arab leadership insisting on the "1967 borders", which is not accepted by Israel. The territory of the former Mandate Palestine which shall not form part of the Palestinian State, shall be part of Israeli territory.

After the Six Day War in June 1967, the United Nations Security Council unanimously passed "United Nations Security Council Resolution 242" calling for Israeli withdrawal from the "Israeli-occupied territories" during the war, in exchange for "termination of all claims or states of belligerency" and "acknowledgement of sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every state in the area". The "Palestine Liberation Organization" (PLO), which had been formed in 1964, strongly criticized the resolution, saying that it reduced the question of Palestine to a refugee problem.

In September 1974, 56 Member States proposed that "the question of Palestine" be included as an item in the General Assembly’s agenda. In a resolution adopted on 22 November 1974, the General Assembly affirmed Palestinian rights, which included the "right to self-determination without external interference", "the right to national independence and sovereignty", and the "right to return to their homes and property". These rights have been affirmed every year since.
However, despite the resolution and endorsement by almost all countries of the world, Israel backed by the United States of America has continued to reject the solution.

While Israel doesn’t out rightly reject the two states solution, it prefer the one-state solution and the similar bi national solution. Proponents of a bi national solution to the conflict advocate a single state in Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, with citizenship and equal rights in the combined entity for all inhabitants of all three territories, without regard to ethnicity or religion, but most countries of the world differ, yet are not trying to understand why Israel is reluctant to go ahead with the two states solution as resolved by the United Nations.

Many have been asking, why is Israel against the two states solution when almost all countries of the world endorsed it as the best solution? Do they really love the crisis to remain unresolved for as long as possible? If not, why are they refusing to implement a resolution the global body consider appropriate? Or better still, when will Israel agree to end this crisis that is doing more harm than good to both parties?

My understanding as a peace professional is that, Israel has fears and worries, which are genuine and needed to be adequately dealt with by the global body. They understand that if those issues are not addressed before the two states solution is implemented, the two states will not be a solution; it would rather be the beginning of greater crisis.

It is not a secret that between Israel and Palestine leadership, there is intractable mutual hatred. Individual leaders that have worked for a peaceful resolution of the crisis from both sides had been murdered for their efforts. Former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and President Anwar Sadat of Egypt come to mind here.

If Israel declare the conflict over today and allow the resolution to take place as proposed, the unaddressed mutual hatred within both parties will only give the Palestinian hardliners some legitimacy to not only acquire arms to engage in real hostility against Israel, it would also enable them to partner with enemy nations to start a greater conflict with Israel, in furtherance of their mutual hatred. I am sure no nation would deliberately empower its hostile neighbor to have more capacity to turn against it.

In conclusion, my proposition would that, the United Nations design a 5 years strategic confidence building program to reduce hostility and mutual hatred between both parties.

The high level programme should carefully articulate Israel’s fear and concerns and work to address them before pushing for the implementation of the UN resolution.

The programme should be built in such a way that, both parties interact more and are given platform to commit themselves to not just being independent of each other, but working together at the highest level.

Until Israel become comfortable that it is safe in a two state solution, it would never agree for it to be implemented.

I am beginning to suspect that the president is not well informed on the capabilities of our Armed Forces. This is the same thing as saying we side the United States and we hate the stupid North Koreans even without having an ambassador there to hear them out. OK, what if this old griot make us a spot in the target map of the North Korean mad man. At least the US will defend where it has bases with SAMs but who will defend us? With no single air defence system in place this old man is adding us to a conflict where most of the main actors are trying to stay neutral. I think the president is not well informed on the attack or defensive capabilities of our Armed formations. If he does then he should know that we have a national emergency in those areas, he won't be giving out big talks. Believe you me this old men are sometimes clueless in this things.
My Pops a former big dog in the Armed Forces would get furious anytime he hear that we are training with the Pakistan he will always tell me that those are really poor defenseless countries and the Nigerian Armed Forces can take them on easily. He would then recount the Liberian days and Sierra Leone, he would mention some outdated equipments that he believe would kick a55 in battle. He told me the Alpha jets where the fastest jets in Africa and they where the key to the win in Liberia. Old man would sometimes sit with his old retired colleagues talking about the valiance of their days, they always conclude that any nation pitched against Nigeria in battle would have to face the indomitable Nigerian infantry and the unbeatable Alpha Jets. I fear the outdated doctrine of our Armed Forces but what I fear more is the outdated minds of its thinkers. Imagine a whole Air Chief calling Governors and vips to celebrate and induct five units of a trainer aircraft, that's because in his mind with the proper equipments added he can invade Russia with that jet. I piety those online that are thinking this guy's know what they are doing, well it's either of two things. It's either they don't know what they are doing or they do and are deliberately incapacitating the Armed Forces of the most threatened Nation is Sub Saharan Africa.

Case scenario (part 1)
Nigerian airspace have just been invaded by two fourth generation aircraft of a neighboring nation, the aircraft is spotted heading to Abuja.

(At the Aso Villa)

President: hmm so those Chadians think they can invade my country, Air Chief send in the F7s and shoot those planes down.

Air Chief: sir we have done that already, but I am afraid we are out of F7s sir.

President : what do you mean out of F7s? Those jets are the jets we ve been using to kill Boko Haram and scare West African Dictators.

Air Chief: the jets in question are too fast for the F7s it's like it sees them before they leave the base and lay in wait for them. The jet is so advanced with smart raders, smart missile and with our present technology we can only barely see them, our jets are flying blindly sir.

President : hmm. That's new, who would have ever thought a plane can carry it's own rader(and to think the Chadians got it before us) Air Chief! Do you think that Tucano that trump is selling for us for 500million dollars have a rader on top of it like this one?

Air Chief: I do not know yet sir. I only ran a quick search on Google about the plane before we decided to buy it. Let me quickly check Wikipedia.

President : no time for that. Call me the army chief

Army Chief: Salute sir.

President : take it easy on yourself, before you fall down.
Okay we have two strange aircraft coming towards Abuja carrying a new technology called "rader" and we need you to use those advanced Anti Aircraft Guns that you are always telling me can shoot anything down to shoot it down.

Army Chief: OK sir. We will shoot it down in no time. Although we may have to go through the manual again to see how it works when using it against air targets. We have not tried that before.

President : OK then be fast. Use the Air chief's phone. There is this thing called google that he use for getting information's.

Army Chief : OK sir.

At the Barrack in Abuja. Men are seen mounting the gunner of 2 old rusty looking Shilka.

Army Chief: OK men. Our nation is under attack. Do well to shoot down this two jets that are invading us. We will wait for the moment they cross into Abuja and shoot them. From the calculations we received from the guys at NASRDA they will come through here.

While the army Chief spoke two tiny object far away in the sky zoomed past leaving a trail in the clouds.

Army Chief : never mind this is useless, the planes just entered Abuja go home and pray with your families. It's up to the boys in the Guard Brigade now to sing the president a befitting funeral song.

At the Aso Villa

President : I am seriously mad at you, how is it that I am not aware that Chad have this kind of aircraft.

Air Chief: sir we never saw them as a threat till now.

President : please check if they are heading for Aso Rock. So that I can kick off the "official presidential last prayers"

Air Chief : they are heading here sir. I just googled again and someone is saying on Nairaland that...

President : Nairaland? Oh! I know that site. There is this brilliant ICT guy called Overhypedsteve who could design you a website, e-commerce shops and a registration portal within days (email me @ stevezuks@gmail.com).

Air Chief : OK, I got Intel from Nairaland that the Chadians have been purchasing some kind of fancy bombs called bunker buster that can hit anything even inside a hardened bunker like we have here in Aso Rock. And the Chadian President's twitter account have been spreading this hash tag #FromDerbyWithLove with pictures of him posing close to the bomb. Sir been a very smart intelligent somebody with military experience I have come to the conclusion that they are going to use those bomb on Aso Rock.

President : no way. No Bomb can penetrate the Aso Rock bunker we just upgraded it remember?

Air Chief: sir since we are all going to die let me just come out clean and say that, the upgrade never happened, we just repainted it and I gave the rest of the cash to charity.

President : well at least you gave the money to charity.
What's the name of the charity.

Air Chief: erm! erm! DubaiSummerShoppin&spaCharity its aimed at helping poor kids and wife of Air Force Chiefs go to Dubai for shopping and Spa. So far we were able to test run it by sending my kids and wife to Dubai. It was successful.

President: wow that's cool. I really like Dubai. There is this Spa I once visited where they will put slices of cucumbers on your eyes and allow you to lay down in mud. First I thought it was disgusting but then later I realized it was rejuvenating. Let's go to Dubai sometimes if we survive this.

The sound of helicopters rotors could be heard outside.

President : go and check what is happening outside I think the jets are about to start bombing us.

A loud mega phone could be heard from outside( Good afternoon Mr President! This is an intervention team from the US African Command. We have airlfted two units of the patriot missile system and our men are on board to man them. You have no reason to fear. We will protect you.

President: Thank God you guys got here quickly. I was almost about to start the "Official Presidential last prayer". Thank you USA but to what do we owe this honour?

AfriCom: well we figured if we help you shoot down the Chadians jets you would allow us build a military base in your country. That way we will always be on ground to protect you in times like this.

President : wow the US is really great. No hidden agenda. (whispers to the Airchief use Google and check the CIA website to see if they have hidden Agenda's)

Air Chief: OK sir, (looked into his phone for a while and whispers to the president) sir I have checked the CIA website and I am sure there is no hidden agenda. In fact I was able to screenshot a big sign from the site on which is written in bold "No Hidden Agenda's "

President : well white people. You can come and build a base in our country so long as you will protect us from "rader" planes. But that will be until we build more sophisticated planes for ourselves. You see the Air Chief is a very smart man and he has been visiting a Do it yourself website which coupled with some YouTube videos he will soon build us the greatest attack jets ever made.

That is how it will just happen. Building a base in Nigeria would even be a small request from anybody that will save our a55 from the glaring stup1dity of the ruling class.

Peace Y'all.

In the past we have clashed and normally even when we have had our differences unless I believe you crossed the line i have let peace reign.
i am well known to you and BEEGS and hand on bible a lot of us fed BEEGS a lot of information, some of it was putting the careers of officers who were or are now Generals in jeopardy.
Occasionally he would have the temper tantrum because he was not invited to go on a tour to the N.E. by the Military specifically by the N.A. He would abandon his blog for months on end , people like Henry, myself would go behind the scenes and constantly literally beg him.
We advised / begged him that he was sitting on a goldmine , he was the first at this real Military blog business. He had a sterling reputation and a brand name" BEEGS" BEEGEAGLE" . Pepole voluntered to give him money at the time i eventually offered him between five and six figures others including Henry offered him a lot of Money, His brand was solid, this was the time to do it,
Then he went on another tantrum:
And he found Twitter:
And he broke his own rules: be the moderator and leave politics out of it.
By now he should of been a Billionaire by Nigerian Standards and a Multi Millionaire by Western standards
instead he was upstaged by a girl who puts headless torsos on the news and gets paid money both in dollars and Naira to show the latest butt implants of the Kardashian Family it is a shame no one HATES BEEGS including myself or Henry and the rest of us that fed him first class information.
H e has now reduced himself to writing a book about past Military leaders
Goodluck to him and I hope it sells , and he makes a decent profit but that is not / his true calling.
I offered to redesign the blog for him back then and move all his content to his own dedicated servers so he would be free from the wordpress restrictions on ads but the dude never seemed serious about the blog. That blog had potentials. He never saw it. He is down on the military keyword ranking now in search engines and dude can't go back to the days we loved.

okay ,to begin with I'm not even near "patriotic"
second I never said we had the best air defence system Nigeria is over

923,768 km²

there's no way France could raid our airspace completely like the person i quoted stated ,without having their jet shot down

France has over 2billion investment in Nigeria ,compare to any francophones nations around ,why would they want to risk that over mere cameroon?

if France is stupid enough to back France ,then Nigeria will just slip to Russia for backing ,after all most of our military hardwares comes from Russia ,and also special forces

finally Nigeria is in peace time (I mean no external aggression with her neighbors) before the insurgency and after you'll see Nigeria military has acquired a way too many hardwares ,strict trainings and others ,that's just how it is ,why hunt when there's no animals to he hunted??

where was France when general buhari pursue tchadians deep into their capital?? 1983

or when Nigerian battalion March into Yaoundé during abacha's regime??

Nigeria military possessions are enough for now ,if the needs arises I'm sure you'll see Nigeria acquiring hard wares like the days of Nigeria -Cameroon's dispute over bakassi

My opinion though
it's ok. Now I understand your kind of thinking. If the need arises we will procure the needed assets. The need arose years ago for a dedicated COIN airframe and many years later, Many dead heroes later, many civilian casualties later and many widows later we are still waiting for some white guys in the Senate of a foreign country to approve our procurement.

Do you think these are things you just wake up and buy? It takes years men, it takes bilateral agreements, pacts and treaties and believe you me we do not have any tangible agreement on defence procurement with any nation. Those things are reserved for tangible customers. Not people that lobby to procure 50 pieces of outdated junk and still try to bribe to get the worst at cheap price so they can get money from it. You talk about Russia but Forget it men, the Cold War ended long ago. What do you have to offer the Russians? How will any bilateral effort on their side to side Nigeria during a war fulfil their wider interest (I speak of wider interest cus that is the only place where we can reflect) .

We are a energy producing nation, same goes for Russia, we produce farm produce that Russians don't eat, Our rich men drive cars that Russians don't produce, we live a life of luxury that is either made in China or Europe. Dude Nigeria paid for Russian amunitions during the war with yams, cocoa, palm oil etc. And non of them got to mother Russia they were traded in the European market by the big Russian cargo ships that flooded our waters during the period of 3R reconstruction, re-unification and restoration. While the Russian ships were moving our food produce, French and other European ships were bringing in cement, iron sheets, steel and other construction materials that G Yakubu needed to re-build the torn country, the Russians realised they had nothing to sell to Nigeria and Nigeria had nothing to sell to her. Hundreds of trade Expo were held by both foreign ministeries but nothing happened.

The Nigerian upper class preferred the luxuriant European produce to the developing Russian ones, despite the offer of building the assembly industries in Nigeria, the market was not there. Nigeria-Russia Bi-National relations woukd have worked in the area of defence but we just do not spend that much on defence(a big defence budget present the hawks with more money to steal from.). So it's this Russia that you couldn't align with during the Cold War that will now protect you from France, a rich Nuclear armed state, Russia with a failing economy and a much weaker Military compared to the Cold War will play a Cold War type proxy war with a nuclear armed state just because some dude that would have fled the country by the time hostilities ensue didn't know that you needed to train and arm your Armed Forces for the worst.

Russia would be very much willing to provide the ammunition for the French planes that would assault Abuja if France would agree to help remove some of the sanctions placed by the European Bloc on her products and trade. You think the international system work by sentiments? Oh Russia please France is attacking us and we know you hate France, please come and fight for us, we will give you oil, oh wait! You have oil. Damn we are in trouble, why didn't anybody see this coming? Oh we did but we thought they have oil assets down south. Dummy the oil assets is the main reason why France would go all out to make anybody attacking Nigeria to win.

They aId Biafra, refused us weapons and though they did not directly sponsor the war, their oil companies continued operating in the secetionist Republic. They withheld support for Nigeria for fear that Nigeria may lose and they do not want to lose along with Nigeria, so they paid the Biafrans to protect t their oils assets. War is no joke men. It doesn't come from one side. Nigeria would be facing Cameroon and Biafra all backed by France and the French people will go all out to make sure that this time they take the oil rivers.
mettre le géant nigérian à genoux( they will bring the Nigerian Giant to its knee.) That's enough history class for your unpatriotic soul.

Here is a link to the Russian 24hours delivery online shop for Planes, Frigates, Submarines, SAMs and machinery pilot, they even make same day delivery for upgrades T-90s . I won't post it here it's too secret. But be sure that our DOD people have it and once France is ready, they will login and start buying what we need.

who says Nigeria has no defense strategy in case the in expectable happens ,try visiting Nigeria armory in abuja before you conclude if Nigeria is defenseless against France ,rubbish!
We have a capital Base in the Niger Delta and the Gulf of Guinea and the stake holders are begging for submarines and frigates but no body is ready to release money for that and someone here have been telling people that ask for submarines for many years that they have low self esteem and Nigeria does not need it. People just sit at home and concort nonsensical bullshit and expect that if it's repeated over time and if they are aggressive enough with their opinion we will swallow it. Well I hope we don't, I hope you realise that Abuja would be ground zero in the event of us having an hostile confrontation with any European power. Not because Third World countries can't stand their own against great powers(there are third worlder's that can) but because since 1960 when this great nation got independence we have never really been led, we have only had leaders leading themselves and families to riches and prosperity. I do not know if Nigeria will be able to defend itself against France but I believe such a confrontation would leave very damning, eye opening consequences.is it a feasible threat? Yes it is. It stares at us in the face everyday if Nigeria does not face a French backed Cameroon, then it may face a French backed secetionist Republic and I pray it wouldn't be the latter. One way or the other the happy English speaking people of Nigeria may soon stop saying Bonjour to their Francophone neighbors

piety. The flames of patriotism have finally burned through every shred of sanity that you have left. I envy your level of patriotism however I cannot be mad. Madness is what you have here. So for you I would say we have the best air defence systems, I woukd say we have very patriotic and strategically thinking persons in the DOD and I would say it's in the best interest of the Brave young men who are sent to the front line to face high calibre ammunitions with nothing but the body of a soft skinned vehicle between them and the enemy, while the Policy makers move around in the safety of our big cities in Heavily armoured customised convoys like its a battle field . You think I am not a patriot like you but you are wrong bro.

As jln115 says it's part of border patrol because Kruger Park borders two countries, also the fact that the poachers are crossing with weapons into our territory is something worth taking military actions for.
so when will poaching of Rhino meet the legislative procedural requirement for the deployment of special forces unit inside your borders? You guys should be happy you don't have issues like the Fulani crisis will have here. Thanks to the joint operation with elite units, some of our law enforcement agencies are now able to stand their own against advanced threats that would have required deploying the military. Sometimes joint operation is also all about capacity building.

Part of Border Patrol duties.
that's Is a useless unsustainable law. You have a large swat of uninhabited land enough for insurgents to plan and prime their attack and you even have a law to prevent the only people that can neutralize them. Why didn't you guys create elite units within your local Armed Forces like its done in Nigeria e.g police ctu trained by special forces. Or is the law completely against the operation of elite units within your soil?

In South Africa's case, I believe special forces are not allowed to be deployed within the borders of SA, only externally (I might be wrong). So if you are dealing with a highly sophisticated syndicate or terrorist group that might be using waterways to conduct their business, a police unit that uses fast boats and divers will come in handy.
isn't that what join task force are meant for? So special forces cannot be part of Joint Task Forces for internal security operations? That's messed up.
