It is easily one of the most popular and most profitable music festivals in the world, and a great platform for Wizkid to perform at!

Wizkid definitely had a great 2017, as it saw him release his monster hit with Drake "Come Closer", his EP - Sounds From The Other Side, several collabs with prominent artists like Future, Young Jeezy, Wale. Five people have been reported killed in a teenage suicide bomber who attacked a Mosque where his father worships in Gamboru in Gamboru –Ngala local government of Borno state.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at 5: 00 am when the a teenage male bomber who had disowned his father detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in the Mosque.

Maj.-Gen. Rogers Nicholas, the Theatre Commander, Operation Lafiya Dole of the Nigeria Army, confirmed the attack.

He added that the troops had also neutralized a suicide bomber at Rann, headquarters of Kala-Balge local government area.

Pep Guardiola saw Manchester City return to winning ways at the end of the Premier League’s exhausting holiday schedule, but warned the English game is in danger of destroying its top stars.

Yemi Alade Biography
Yemi Eberechi Alade was born on March 13, 1989 in Abia State, Nigeria. Her father James Alade is of Yoruba origin while her mother Helen Uzoma is of Igbo origin resulting in her being referred as “Yoruba-Igbo girl”.

Yemi Alade made her debut in a girl group named Noty Spices in 2005. Her musical discovery began after she won the Peak Talent Show in 2009. She later released her first single “Fimisile” under the Jus’ Kiddin’ label.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) yesterday disclosed that it is expecting up to five ships loaded with 50 million litres each of petrol in the country within the next three days.

This is in a bid to bridge the noticeable shortage in the volume of petrol available for supply and distribution across Nigeria, and which has seen vehicular queues come up again at petrol service stations across the country,

The NNPC also stated that its subsidiary company in charge of its downstream petroleum businesses, the Nigerian Products Marketing Company (NPMC), has increased the number of petrol trucks that leave its depots across the country to 1,300 per day.

It said this was in response to the charge given to it by the federal government to ensure that queues for petrol, which resurfaced in the country last week was cleared within a week.

Speaking to journalists after an inspection of petrol distribution and sales around Abuja, the Managing Director of NPMC, Mr. Umar Ajiya, stated that the corporation and its subsidiaries had stepped up efforts to bring products supplies to normalcy.

The whistle-blower, who helped the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission recover the $43m, N23.2m and £27,800 (N13bn) from an Ikoyi apartment on April 12, 2017, has finally been paid his commission,

It was also learnt that the whistle-blower travelled out of the country less than 24 hours after receiving part of the N421m reward.

The whistle-blower’s lawyer, Mr. Yakubu Galadima, confirmed the development to our correspondent on the telephone on Wednesday.

He praised the government for finally honouring its agreement after eight months.

Galadima also joked that his client did not run mad after receiving the money as predicted by some government officials.

He, however, said his client had not been paid in full, adding that the Federal Government had promised to pay him the balance next year.

The lawyer said, “My client confirmed to me that he had received a credit alert from the Federal Government. He travelled out of the country this morning (Wednesday morning).

“He has been paid the first instalment but there were many tax deductions. Yes, we are happy. I will give you more details later but I can confirm now that he has received some money.

Nigerian ‘starboy’ Wizkid has blasted award organizers who downgrade African artistes at shows in contradiction to international artistes.

Wizkid in an interview with NBS Uganda while on a tour said the unequal treatment by organisers is the reason he does not show up for such awards.

According to him, the only way African awards will be wildly recognised like Grammys is when organisers show equal treatment and love to both local and international artistes.

He said, “I don’t go for African awards because they give awards offstage.

“To elevate ourselves and get recognition worldwide, Nigerian artistes need to stop taking nonsense from anyone that’s trying to give us shows or awards backstage.

Sahar Tabar is only 19, yet at such a young age, she has already had so much done to her body just to look like her idol. The woman from Teheran, Iran says she is one of Angelina Jolie’s biggest fans and "would do anything" to look like the Hollywood actress. She went on to shed 90 lbs. and now diets constantly to maintain her weight at 40 kilograms. She's also had 50 surgical procedures just to attain the look that she had always coveted.

A pair of rare and customized Nike Jordans worn by Michael Jordan in 1986 has been sold for $55,000 (N19,799,944.90) at auction, reportedly setting a new record, as the highest price ever paid for Nike Jordans.

According to reports, the sneakers were made especially for the NBA Legend to mark his return to basketball after an injury in November 1985.

The sneakers were specially customized with an ankle support to protect Jordan’s healing left foot, and it carries an inscription and signature from the future Hall of Famer.

Chris Ivy, the Director of Sports Collectibles at Heritage Auctions, who made the sale in Dallas recently, he said: “For a global audience of Jordan collectors, this is as good as it gets. Only a tiny handful of game-worn Jordan I’s are known to exist, and this unique pair is by far the rarest and most desirable of that breed, as our result would confirm.”

Emmerson Mnangagwa, the former Zimbabwean vice president, who was sacked by Robert Mugabe, would be sworn in as the new president today to replace Mr. Mugabe who resigned on Tuesday afternoon after 37-years in office.

The 75-year-old was removed from office and exiled 13 days after Mugabe accused him of disloyalty and insubordination. Mugabe had reportedly taken the action to pave way for his wife, Grace, to emerge as the new leader of ruling Zanu-PF ahead of the country’s general election next year.

Mnangagwa is said to be popular amongst the powerful War Veterans group and the Zimbabwean military chiefs and he'll over see a democratic election come 2018.
