CRAZY: Lady Makes Lots of Money by Allowing People Súck Her Bréast on The Beach

Maybe it's high time we agreed the world is coming to an end. But on a brighter side this lady is simply self-employed, as she makes a lot of money from selling lemonade in her own style.

You can bet a lot of men will just be very happy buying that kind of lemonade even though it is just an illusion believing you are really súcking from her bréast.

Politics / Agagu: Exit Of Unusual Politician by oyadalo: 3:53am On Sep 16, 2013
OLUSEGUN Kokumo Agagu, former Ondo State governor and leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, who died suddenly last Friday, would be remembered for his kind of politics.

If there was any player in the Nigerian political field that didn’t follow the rules of the game, at least the cut-throat, selfish and ruthless approach to power acquisition, that person was Agagu.

Where many had taken to heart the brutal principle of the Italian philosopher, Nicolo Machiavelli and Robert Greene’s postulation of the laws of power, Agagu, a trained geologist and lecturer at the premier University of Ibadan, played a kind of politics different from his colleagues’.

Unlike what is unfolding in the national political scene where politicians are devouring each other in preparations for the 2015 elections, his kind of politics was based on the principle of “live and let live.”

The focus of his administration was spreading the goods to the highest number of beneficiaries.

For instance, due to paucity of funds, he decided in the early days of his administration, to surface-dressed many roads in the state instead of asphalt overlaying, so as to reach the highest number of communities.

In his peculiar brand of politics, Agagu, after acquiring political authority of Ondo State following the tsunami that swept away the Alliance for Democracy (AD), became a statesman who took the interest of the masses far above those of politicians, much to the chagrin of his colleagues in the ruling party.

He disregarded the 15th law of Greene’s “48 Laws of Power,” which stipulates total crushing of the opposition. Rather, he allowed his successor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, as a candidate then, a run of the political field, all to his (Agagu’s) detriment, politically.

When he was about to declare his intention to re-contest the 2007 elections, Agagu called a meeting of his cabinet, which then had Mimiko as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), to intimate members of his desire.

Quite unlike a consummate student of power and against Greene’s third law of concealment of intention, he had, while bringing the likes of Mimiko on board his gubernatorial team in 2003, pledged to do only one term.

At the meeting, those who were nursing governorship ambition, including his deputy, Omolade Oluwateru and finance commissioner, Tayo Alasoadura, declared that with a change of heart from Agagu, they would drop their ambitions and support him to realise his dream.

All eyes were then focused on Mimiko, whose intention to rule the state had been on the front burner since his former AD was in office. But rather than toe the line of Oluwateru and Alasoadura, Mimiko told the gathering that he would have to consult his followers for their consent before he could make any pronouncement.

The reply was clear enough: Mimiko, already oiling a massive state-wide campaign machinery, was going to attempt to wrest power from his boss. And the parley was abruptly brought to an end.

A follow-up meeting of Agagu’s inner caucus members advised the governor to sack his SSG (Mimiko) but the governor declined, saying he could not constitute himself as an impediment to anybody’s ambition even if it was going to scuttle his own.

Mimiko was to move up the ladder from his SSG position to the Minister of Housing and Urban Development where he consolidated and strengthened his support base with greater inputs from the Abuja seat of power.

There, he reportedly drew more friends to himself, particularly from die-hard politicians, who saw in Agagu a governor that was “too academic and tight-fisted” in his approach to governance and politics without sparing some influence for colleagues.

And presiding over a cabinet that was full of members clandestinely hobnobbing with the opposition, Agagu would not have any advice from his very close aides to relieve the identified culprits of their positions, preferring to crack jokes with the matter.

At one of the meetings of his party leaders, he reportedly entered the room, mouthing the slogan of the opposition party, to tell his colleagues that he knew that most of them had crossed over to the other side.

The governor, however, realised his vulnerability when his photograph with an injured ankle, taken at his living room at the Government House, was splashed on the front page of a local tabloid belonging to the opposition. Still, he refused to sack anyone.

SIGNS that Agagu was not “a good politician” were discernible to analysts moments after he was inaugurated on May 29, 2003. He had declared that he was going to run a compact administration where all frivolities in the act of governance, including indulgence of fellow politicians, would be avoided.

He thanked his colleagues for contributing to his emergence as the state’s helmsman, but told them that rather than wait for patronage, they should see their efforts as part of contributions to national development.

Agagu also announced that unlike when appointments into public offices, especially the civil and teaching services were based on the caliber of politician(s) an applicant knew, absorption into government offices and positions would be based on merits.

Expectedly, the pronouncement drew the ire of other party men, as he followed with action, reducing the number of ministries he inherited from the AD administration from 17 to 11, the number of Special Advisers from 20 to four and Special Assistants reduced substantially.

He also introduced a seemingly foolproof contract-award system, with prices of procurement for government needs verified by a Price Monitoring Office and a ceiling put on the percentage of profits to be made by contractors handling government projects. This was prior to Federal Government’s establishment of its Due Process Office headed by Dr. Oby Ezekwesili.

As an academic scientist with a bias for pragmatic approach and laboratory analysis of matters, Agagu spent his first six months in office, preparing a document titled, “Road Map To Progress,” a blueprint for the state’s development, which, he said was to “chart a definite course of action that we should follow in achieving the status of our dream state for Ondo.”

Politicians in the house, who had been deprived of influence, finally declared a war on the new administration following Agagu’s appointments of mostly non-politician experts, particularly as Special Advisers, to man specialised sectors of governance; his introduction of transparency, including monthly public declaration of what came to the coffers of the state from all revenue sources; and the setting up of a Fiscal Allocation Committee (FAC), made up of representatives of organised Labour, traditional rulers and other stakeholders, to determine how the funds were disbursed on monthly basis.

Within six months of his ascendancy, Agagu’s popularity, which was soaring above 62 percent vote-win during the 2003 polls, recorded an all-time low. Attempts by his image-handlers to describe him as “the repairer of Ondo State” earned him more opprobrium as the image of an old illiterate village bicycle repairer, who was trying to make ends meet while his colleagues were successful entrepreneurs and traders.

Agagu’s fall stemmed from his failure to realise that his fellow politicians were necessary evil he had to accommodate. And rather than assuage their feelings by awarding the contracts to build a six-classroom block in each of the 1,230 public primary schools in the state to them, the governor announced that a new and cheaper technology that “will continuously cool the interior of the classrooms through a pre-fabricated wire-mesh” would be employed.

For more than a year, the new efforts were allegedly frustrated, thereby delaying commencement of the projects. At the end of the day, the government had to succumb to the normal old brick and mortar technology with the politicians as the major contractors, and only about two-thirds of the schools were completed and delivered at the end of his administration in 2009.

It was common then to hear politicians, many from Agagu’s PDP, condemning the governor for “tarring roads instead of tarring the stomachs,” a direct reference to his administration’s policy of preventing people from feeding fat on the commonwealth to the detriment of overall development of the state and its people.

By the time Agagu was three years in office, principal officers of his political party, such as the State Chairman, Alhaji Alli Olanusi, now Ondo State deputy governor and the state secretary, Boluwaji Kunlere, a senator representing the Southern senatorial district on the platform of the ruling Labour Party (LP), as well as several big shots, had parted ways with him.

In a curious twist of fate, it was Kunlere, who, as the candidate of the LP, defeated Agagu in his Southern stronghold, hereby denying the former governor another opportunity to come back into political limelight.

DESPITE the opposition from within, Agagu trudged on and at the end of his administration in 2009, he had opened hitherto inaccessible areas of the state like Irele and Agagba-Obon axis and particularly the oil-rich coastal areas where he completed the about N30 billion Igbokoda-Ayetoro and the Aboto-Olokola roads that had the longest bridge in the state.

He constructed health facilities in every political wards of the state; reclaimed a vast area of Ilaje from the sea through a N7 billion Adagbakuja project; established the Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH) in Okitipupa; constructed and dualised several roads within Akure, the state capital and other urban centres and above all, introduced a fiscal discipline that moved capital expenditure of the state budget from 30 percent to about 70 percent.

He conceptualised the multi-billion dollar Olokola mega-project, which was to have a Free Trade Zone, a natural deep seaport, fertilizer and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) plants, petroleum refineries and many other service industries. He brought in both the Federal and Ogun State Governments, the latter having mutual boundaries where the projects were sited.

As the Minister of Power and Steel, Agagu was instrumental to the location of the multi-billion dollar Omotosho Power Plant in Ore, Odigbo local council, which was to service both Olokola and the Industrial Park that his administration planned for the area.

Many people would give him credit for resolving the oil-well disputes with Delta State in favour of Ondo, thus raising the state’s receipt in the monthly allocation from Oil Mineral Derivation Fund.

At the twilight of his administration, Agagu commenced several dream contracts, including the N14 billion water reticulation projects from the Owena Multi-Purpose Dam that was to provide potable water to people of the Central senatorial district; the N4 billion construction of the Akure Township Stadium; the new road linking Irele with Okitipupa, which reduced the time of travel by about 80 percent, and the N5 billion buildings at OSUSTECH.

For these projects and many others, his administration paid 50 percent mobilisation fees and was still able to leave N38 billion in the coffers of the state at the time of his hurried exit from the Government House via an Appeal Court judgment that declared Mimiko, his arch-rival as the winner of the April 2007 governorship election.

While many people saw Agagu’s loss of authority as a fallout of his estrangement with his fellow politicians, others linked defects in his politics as being responsible.

The former governor was accused of nepotism, which saw members of his immediate cycle of friends and those of his younger brother, Femi, his Chief of Staff (COS), wielding tremendous power, and misuse of the same, to the extent that they created enemies for the administration.

A commissioner in his cabinet drove the monarch of his community into exile, without Agagu halting the umbrage. The Oba was only reinstated when the Mimiko administration came on board.

While kudos went to the governor for his frugality and simple ways of life, which reflected in his person; many claimed that a lot of under-hand dealings were done by some elements close to the governor and on whose shoulders he placed these responsibilities of transparence and openness.

A case in point was an aide saddled with the responsibility of contracts control who, months after leaving office, opened a massive hotel outlet in Akure.

Politics / Abacha’s Daughter Under-Fire For Attacking Soyinka by oyadalo: 6:35pm On Jul 19, 2013
Gumsu, one of the daughters of the late maximum ruler, Gen. Sani Abacha, has taken to Twitter to snarl abuse at Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka
She described the iconic writer as an “empty professor”, accusing him of assuming the role of a critic in the Nigerian polity because of financial gains.

Though the reason behind the Twitter rant could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report, her earlier message in a tweet had stated, “Do the thing you fear the most. If there’s one thing that will change your thoughts quicker than anything else, it’s facing your fears.”

However, no sooner had she posted the tweet than a barrage of criticisms started trailing her comment. The first set of criticisms came from some of her fans on the social network.

One Sal Adeleke, tweeting via @HAJMAJA, said, “Look, if you bring in Soyinka, people might get offended and start insulting your family. I wouldn’t like that to happen for a reason. Please, don’t get involved in this game. It seems you have transformed to something else since the release of Al-Mustapha. What’s going on?’’

But just as Adeleke predicted, a floodgate of criticism was unleashed on Gumsu by many Nigerians who deemed her action as an utter disrespect to the person and standing of Soyinka.

Many viewed the attack as a wild and extremely rude show of disrespect while others described her effrontery as “shameless boldness.’’ Some accused Gumsu of not having responsible adults in her family, with many others urging her to return the money his father looted before coming out to comment on national issues.

A Twitter user, Sam Adebayo, tweeting via @olujiire, said, “Do you set yourself on memory lane to remember how your father died? I bet you don’t have elders in your household.’’

trendydoc..com has learnt also of Another user of the micro-blogging service, Paul, explained that he is still at a loss as to how a daughter of a renowned ‘thief’ would describe Soyinka as an “empty professor.’’

He said, “Imagine , the daughter of a thief, referring to a renowned Prof Wole Soyinka as a mad empty professor.I wonder!’’

Lending a voice to the criticism, Nigeria’s online hacking group, NaijaCyberHactivists, tweeting via @NaijaCyberHack, said, “It is unfortunate that a family like yours (Gumsu) still comment on issues in this country. A family that defines all what shame connotes.’’

A member of the popular online forum, nairaland.com, with the name, Phull said, “What did your Father Abacha amount to in this life with all the stolen billions and hundreds of murdered Nigerians? What have you as a person achieved in your pathetic existence?

“Professor Wole Soyinka is one of the brightest lights from Nigeria and Africa, on his own merit alone! This is a man who was at one point or the other Professor at Harvard, Cornell, with Honorary Doctorate degrees from Leeds, Harvard, and Princeton.

“In case you don’t know, these are not the schools where ‘thieves’ are awarded phoney Honoris Causa. In fact, no one in your generation would be considered worthy of admission even into any of these universities for you are so dull, you have absolutely no brains that can be educated!’’

Threading softly with Gumsu, one Thomas George asked, “Gumsu, what has Prof Soyinka done to deserve this tongue lashing? He is a Nigerian icon, in this time of very few of his type, you know.’’

One Shehu Muhammad-Bello said on Twitter that Gumsu’s attack on Soyinka could be a desperate attempt by her to get favour and attention from the wife of the President, Patience Jonathan, as the latter recently took a swipe at the Nobel laureate.

Politics / Reasons Why Ex- Gov, Gbenga Daniel May Be Expelled From PDP by oyadalo: 5:14am On Jul 01, 2013
There are strong indications that the suspended former governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, may eventually be expelled from the party.

It was learnt that the Ogun State executive of the PDP is planning to hold a meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former Minister of Commerce and Industry, Jubril Martins-Kuye and party financier, Buruji Kashamu, to determine the fate of Daniel in the party.

The state PDP Chairman, Adebayo Dayo, in an interview with our correspondent on Friday, said the leaders would meet to determine if Daniel would remain in the party or not.

The Chairman, Ogun-East Senatorial District, PDP, Doyin Fakoya, had on Thursday announced Daniel’s suspension along with 12 others over alleged anti-party activities.

Daniel was suspended for defecting with his loyalists to the Peoples Party of Nigeria prior to the 2011 elections and for his alleged romance with the Labour Party in the state.

Fakoya had said, “As of today, I am the chairman of the PDP in Ogun East Senatorial District. I have a copy of the letter that Daniel has been suspended. He was suspended by Ward 12, Sagamu Constituency 2.”

Dayo, however, chided Fakoya for publicising Daniel’s suspension without the knowledge of the party leadership.

“Before we publicise something of that nature, the leadership of the party must be aware of it,” he stated.

While he said he agreed with the suspension, Dayo said Daniel became the first victim of the party’s disciplinary action because he was a leader of the party.

He added that the punishment became necessary at a time when the party was consolidating its efforts to win back the state from the ruling Action Congress of Nigeria.

“I am not saying that I am aware of what happened, as I’ve been out of Ogun State for four days and I am not aware of the publication (of the suspension). I only saw it in the papers.

“When I get back home, I’m going to call the leaders of the party because we, as the officials of the party, still have some leaders ahead of us. I’m going to call all the leaders, starting from former president Obasanjo, Martins-Kuye, Kashamu and all the prominent leaders.

“I will visit them to schedule a meeting where this issue will be discussed at length. If it is the decision of all elders in Ogun State that Daniel should leave the party, so be it. There’s nothing we can do.

Politics / Why Governor Amaechi Was Stopped By Jonathan's Bodyguard From Greeting Him by oyadalo: 9:03am On Jun 28, 2013
The Presidency on Thursday defended the prevention of Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State from exchanging pleasantries with President Goodluck Jonathan by a security operative during dinner at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Wednesday.

photo

It said the incident was purely a security issue that should not be politicised, especially by opposition political parties.

The governor, who was sitting two tables away from the President, had risen to greet him but the security operative attached to the President stopped him halfway.

In order not to create a scene at the event that had nearly all his colleagues and two heads of government (Joyce Banda of Malawi and Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf of Liberia) in attendance, Amaechi quietly returned to his seat and waited for about five minutes before leaving the venue.

But as the Action Congress of Nigeria and Congress for Progressive Change berated Jonathan over the incident, the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Dr. Ahmed Gulak, said it was tantamount to a breach of protocol and security if Amaechi was allowed access to his boss who was already seated before the governor arrived.

Gulak said, “The President has a good relationship with all state governors and he meets with them regularly. The case in point is a pure security issue and it should be treated as a security issue that should not be politicised.

“The question the ACN and others who may want to politicise this issue need to ask is whether the President arrived at the venue of the dinner and was already seated before the governor arrived.

“Usual practice across the world is that once the President arrives a place, nobody whether a governor or not, is allowed entrance. That is the protocol. Even(Barack) Obama of the United States cannot be on his seat and a governor will be allowed to come in.

“If that was the situation in this case that the President was already on his seat, it would have been a breach of protocol and security for any security person to allow the governor access to the President. Such a security person would have been sanctioned if he had done that.”

Wondering why the ACN was interested in the matter, the presidential aide advised the opposition political parties to “concentrate on issues concerning them and stop politicising everything.”

The ACN had in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, condemned the action of the operative and called on Jonathan to order an immediate probe into it.

It said, “We are making this call because we do not believe that, in spite of the reported frosty relations between the two, President Jonathan – as the father of the nation – will lend the weight of his high office to such a demeaning action as exhibited by the presidential security personnel.

“To believe that anyone occupying the esteemed office of the President of one of Africa’s most important nations will be a party to a situation in which any security aide will wilfully fence a state chief executive from paying his respect to the President at such an open gathering will be to think the worst of the occupier of that office

Politics / 2015 Elections May End Up Like NGF Poll – Gov Amaechi by oyadalo: 7:52am On Jun 27, 2013
Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi on Wednesday lamented the crisis rocking the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and then threw a bombshell: 2015 elections may end up like that of the NGF.

“Let me put it on record that the way things are going, 2015 elections will end in this manner where people will win democratic elections and those in power will not accept the results,” he said at a stakeholders’ symposium on the review of the 1999 Constitution in Abuja.

Amaechi, who won the May 24 NGF election in Abuja, wondered why some people would be backing Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State, who contested against him and lost.

Amaechi described Jang and his supporters as non-democrats and accused the Nigeria Bar Association of losing its voice by failing to condemn the actions taken by Jang and his supporters after the NGF poll.

President Goodluck Jonathan is the major supporter of the Jang faction of the NGF and Amaechi’s outburst appeared to the audience to be mostly directed at him (the President).

Amaechi, who said he had been trying to avoid the microphone because of too many problems in the country, told the gathering that since he had been made to mount the rostrum, he was ready to make “headlines.”

First, he blasted the NBA, then Jang and the “government that supports him”. Amaechi described himself as the authentic NGF chairman, saying that what Jang was leading was a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party Governors’ Forum.

The governor said, “The NBA cannot afford to lose its voice, but you have lost your voice. For the NBA to see a free and fair election, where 35 governors who govern 35 states in the nation, who make decisions for hundreds of millions of Nigerians, for NBA to say that ‘if they can’t organise themselves dissolve,’ you have lost your voice.

“I say it and I want to be put on record that anybody who supports the Jang group is undemocratic.

“Before that the NGF election, we chose who will be the returning officer , we appointed our director-general to be the returning officer and we voted.

“Everybody voted. Everybody, including Jang. Jang was even among the first persons to vote.

“When I won my brother from Akwa Ibom State(Godswill Akpabio) stood up and said, ‘there’s a document I have where 19 governors have signed for us.’

“And Jang says the Northern States Governors’ Forum supported him. Which Northern governors? They should have voted for him. He also said the PDP governors supported him before the election, then the PDP governors should have voted for him.

“What you have that Jang is leading is another faction of the PDP Governors’ Forum, not the NGF.

“Anybody, whether NBA or government that supports Jang’s faction is undemocratic.”

He urged Nigerians and the judiciary to rise up and defend their rights.

Amaechi said, “My Lords, you must defend our democracy and Nigeria. We don’t have any other country anywhere else, the only country we have is this.

“We must be prepared as a people to defend our rights; we must be prepared as a people to hold government accountable. We must be prepared as a people to demand accountability.”

Amaechi urged Nigerians to resist a situation “where non-government officers that have no public function can order the Inspector-General of Police to change commissioners of police.”

The governor, who stated that it was not proper for the President to appoint commissioners of police, said there was the need for state police to be included in the ongoing constitution review.

Apparently referring to his problems with the Commissioner of Police in Rivers State, Amaechi said, “You were talking about state prisons and state police. We don’t have state prisons; we don’t have state police.

“A situation where governors are left helpless and hopeless because somebody here in Abuja determines who becomes my commissioner of police, and tells him what to do, and he makes the city uncomfortable and ungovernable, is not the kind of constitution that I will want to support.”

Although Amaechi’s insistence on being the authentic NGF chairman was corroborated by Niger State Governor and Chairman of the N S G F , Babangida Aliyu,on Wednesday, Jang dismissed the Rivers State governor’s claim that he (Jang) was leading a faction of the PDP Governors’ Forum.

Jang, who spoke through the Sole Administrator of his NGF faction secretariat, Mr. Osaro Onaiwu, wondered if Amaechi was leading the opposition governors forum.

Onaiwu said, “The governors of Ondo and Anambra States, Dr. Olusegun Mimimo and Mr. Peter Obi respectively, are they members of the PDP?

S’West PDP Tackles Oyinlola

The Caretaker of the Peoples Democratic Party Committee in the South-West on Tuesday declared the position of the National Secretary of the party vacant.

photo The Caretaker of the Peoples Democratic Party Committee in the South-West on Tuesday declared the position of the National Secretary of the party vacant.

The chairman of the committee, Chief Ishola Filani, who stated this while addressing journalist after the party’s zonal meeting in Ibadan oyo state, therefore, urged any interested PDP member to apply for the position.

Former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola and occupant of the position before his being sacked by a court had insisted in a recent open letter to the party leadership, that the position was not vacant.

Oyinlola also noted that it would be wrong for the party to replace him as the National Secretary when he already had a pending case over the same issue in court.

Filani said, “All other officers have been asked to resign and the position of the National Secretary has been declared open because it was nullified at the court.

“There was another court injunction at the lower and appeal court which threw out the case. As far as we are concerned the position of the national secretary is open to all members to contest.”

He also noted that only the positions that were not vacant in line with the directive of the party at the national level are that of the PDP National Chairman, Auditor and Financial Secretary

He added, “The sharing formula is still recognized and retained. Ekiti State has the position of National Vice-Chairman, South-West and the Zonal Public Relations Officer; Lagos State has the Zonal Organizing Secretary and the Zonal Financial Secretary, while Ogun State has the Zonal Secretary and the National Auditor.

During one attack the victim awoke bleeding with the accused cutting the inside for her arm and saying, 'you deserve it'.

But when she tried to escape he stepped on her foot so hard he pulled off her toenail, Cambridge Crown Court heard.

The victim recorded the horrific domestic abuse on her smartphone in a bid to prove what her husband had done to her.

In the shocking footage the defendant is seen standing over the victim with his arms folded.

The screen then goes black when the victim hides the phone and she can be heard crying out after she sustains a blow.

The defendant then allegedly says: 'Get up, get up'.

The jury was told the victim made 17 recordings in all, lasting from seconds to a minute or more.

The defendant used to slam her head against the wall so violently the neighbours could hear a thud, the court was told.

On one occasion it is also alleged he headbutted her forehead.

James Barry, prosecuting, said: 'He bullied and threatened her verbally and physically. He punched and kicked her and he forced himself on her against her will.'

PDP Swears in Interim NWC Members, Promises to Follow the Path of JusticeThe Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it would always follow path of justice in order to take the country to greater heights to compete favourably in the comity of nations.

According to the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, the PDP believes in equity and justice.

Mr. Tukur said this in his speech in Abuja on Monday while swearing in members of its Interim National Working Committee (NWC). He also reminded that the swearing in followed the resignation of the former members of the NWC.

“The former national officers had to leave their respective offices because of INEC’s observation about irregularities that characterised the National Convention held in March 2012.

“We decided to replace members of NWC who resigned their respective positions immediately in order not to allow a vacuum.

“This is the usual practice in the party since it came into existence as a political party in Nigeria.

“They are here to move the party forward and to ensure that things are done the way they should be done.

“They also promised to abide strictly by the party’s Constitution and the Electoral Act 2010 (as amended),” Tukur said.

Tukur said PDP had been a responsive and responsible party that always insisted on good governance, adding that the party vowed not to involve itself in anything illegal.

My mother, (Maa’mi) Hajia Abibatu Mogaji, has passed. But it is so obvious from the outpouring of emotions across Nigeria and beyond that Mama lives. God blessed her with 96 plus years on earth. But she was not great because of her longevity. For, it is not how long one lives but how well.

But Mama used every minute of her sojourn on earth wisely and well. My mother lived a long, fruitful life that benefited all who were fortunate enough to come into contact with her. Everywhere she went and everything she touched, she left better than she found them. She added and never subtracted. She made and never destroyed.

Her light consistently shone and the darkness could never comprehend nor extinguish it. God gave women a tremendous creative force and that force lived in my mother until her last day. But she is not only my mother. She is my Hero. To Africa, she is Mama Africa. Nigeria shared her with the world. I recall in 1988 when we had a delegation for the “Free Mandela” campaign in South Africa.

She was there front and centre with Sam Nujoma, the first President of Namibia. Most of you know her as the Iyaloja of Lagos or the President General of the Association of Nigerian Market Women and Men. She is more. She was Iya-Gbo-Gbo (Mother of All), Iya Oba of Lagos, Iya Oba of Ikirun and Iya Oba of many other towns too numerous to list.

he received numerous citations, awards and recognition from mosques and churches across the land. As a validation of her depth of knowledge and stewardship, the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria awarded her Honorary Doctorate Degree, (Honoris Causa). She was a powerful, progressive public figure in her own right. When it was fashionable and accepted to ridicule and look down on market women and men, she was their staunch and proud advocate for they were and are an important part of our society, culture and economy.

She stood by them as they stood by her. She was instrumental in shaping policies and practices to assure more Nigerians benefited from commerce and trade which in the former days were dominated by foreign hands. She helped mould and organized the people of the markets into a potent force for justice and social progress, not just for their own interests but for the good of the weak, poor and downcast.

ABU Queries Prof Kolo Over Sexual Harassment

The Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria has queried Professor David Kolo of the university’s faculty of education for sexually harassing one of his female students, a development that led to his sentence to two months imprisonment by a court in Jigawa.

Daily Trust learnt that the university management had since issued a query to the professor, demanding explanation on why he indulged in the act of sexual harassment.

ABU’s statute provides stiff disciplinary action on established cases of sexual harassment, and this may include dismissal.
Our correspondent gathered that Professor Kolo refused to answer the query, an act that our source described as a “gross misconduct.”

Politics / Wickedness:journalist Battered Seeks N50 Million (pict) by oyadalo: 9:07am On Jun 24, 2013
A Lagos based photojournalist who was severely attacked for taking shots of passengers hanging from a moving train has slammed a N50 million suit against the Nigeria Railway Corporation.

Babatunde Ogundeji, a freelance journalist, is seeking N50 million as damages for the battery he received at the hands of “agents, servants and privies” of the NRC in August last year at the NRC’s Ikeja Terminus.

On August 13, 2012, Mr. Ogundeji, 50, was taken to the hospital with head injuries after he was attacked with bottles and planks for taking pictures of people travelling on the roof of railway coaches.

His camera was seized by the thugs, but later retrieved by the NRC management.

“They beat me. They hit me in the head until I ran to the police station at Ikeja Local Government,” Mr. Ogundeji had told Lagos based PM News after the incident.

“I had given my camera to someone else and since they did not see me with the camera, they started beating me.”

Can This Be Love: Woman Set To Marry The Same Man Who Has Jilted Her At The Alter 4 Times!
This i must say is the most weird story of 'love' and patience i have ever read..
I still cant imagine while this 37yr old lady, who has been jilted 4 times by the same man, (her 67 year old fiance) 4 whole times, and she still hasn't given up on him. she hopes this fifth time, there would be an actual wedding....

Enjoy reading ...

The preparations for a perfect summer wedding had begun. One of London’s most opulent venues had been booked and the bridal gown - a strapless, ballerina-length silk confection from Elizabeth Emanuel - stood ready on its mannequin.

A stack of embossed invitations had been printed and 90 guests had marked the date in their diaries

The wedding of model Susan Sangster to actor Frank Mughan promised to be a magnificent occasion. The reception was to be at the Hurlingham Club, a grand neo-classical mansion beside the Thames at Fulham.

As the big day in August 2008 grew closer, Susan’s excitement increased: she’d waited until she was 37 to marry and was certain Frank - cultured, charming and 24 years her senior - would be a loving and dependable husband as well as a devoted dad to her son Luke, then six, from an earlier relationship
ig gets more interesting, continue

But she’s never had a chance to find out because just as she was poised to address the invitations, Frank decided he did not want to get married after all - at least not yet. It was all too much, too soon, he said.

He suggested the wedding be downgraded to an engagement party. That way the glorious venue - for which they had paid £5,000 - would not be wasted.
Susan was understandably bereft. She and Frank had known each other for almost a year; the decision to tie the knot had not been a hasty one.

But she hid her disappointment, went along with his plan and steeled herself for the task of explaining to her family that the nuptials had been deferred.

‘I was acutely embarrassed and in floods of tears when I told my mum,’ recalls Susan. ‘But she said: “An engagement is a step forward, so don’t worry.” And Frank had apologised and reassured me that he loved me.I accepted it was a huge step for him. He was 61 and a bachelor who lived with his mother. This was his first marriage and he’d also be taking on the role of father to my son. So I was prepared to be patient. And, as he pointed out, we should do things in the right order, holding an engagement party first.’
Most women, she concedes, would be less forgiving. But Frank, she believed, was worth waiting for. Perversely, she still saw him as solid and dependable, and accepted his argument that they needed more time to organise the wedding.
I noticed him as he walked in,’ she says, ‘He’s 6ft 4in, well-built and very fit and muscular. When he spoke to me I was struck by his warm and cultured voice‘I was fascinated by him. He’s an excellent listener, amusing and emotionally supportive,’ says Susan, who was still smarting from the break-up of her relationship with Luke’s father, an eye surgeon. ‘The fact he’d been in movies did entice me. I thought he was a bit of a catch.’

Frank wasted no time in suggesting they meet again. The relationship flourished and, although initially disquieted by the age gap, Susan conceded that Frank looked much younger than his years.
He met her family, then whisked her off for a romantic weekend in Paris. An impartial observer could not have failed to believe he was madly in love with her. From the off, there was a tacit agreement that marriage would follow. Indeed, he bought her a diamond engagement ring, and talk turned to weddings.

‘It was an easy conversation - we both mentioned marrying at various times. In the end we said: “Let’s just do it!” ’ remembers Susan.

She began organising their wedding. ‘I saw an outfit for Luke. I bought my dress. Then his sister, Sharon, who’s a member of the Hurlingham Club, helped us get the room there. I thought, “Wow!” It was the perfect wedding venue.’
But just before the big event was finalised, Frank began to back-pedal. Hasty adjustments were made and a lavish engagement party replaced the wedding.

Susan was devastated, but it was not long before her thoughts turned again to tying the knot. She and Frank began scouting locations.
‘We were aiming for a wedding in the summer of 2009, and went to Chiswick House, a beautiful Palladian mansion that is set in glorious grounds,’ she recalls.

‘Frank was concerned about the expense. He suggested the two of us just fly to Las Vegas and marry in a little chapel there. But I was adamant: I wanted all my family to see me married.’

In the end, nature devised its own impediment to her plans: Susan discovered she was pregnant. She and Frank were overjoyed and Jake was born in June 2009.

But Frank seemingly seized the excuse of a new baby to halt the nuptials again. Meanwhile, he divided his time between Susan’s flat in Chiswick and the home he shared with his mother Norah, now 90, less than a mile away.

While many women would have viewed Frank’s absence at his mother’s as evidence of his reluctance to be a bridegroom, Susan, it seems, was wilfully blind.
She forged ahead with new wedding plans - this time at her local church, Our Lady of Grace and St Edward in Chiswick; as Luke was an altar boy there, she decided it was an ideal place to make her vows.

‘We went to meet the priest, Father Dwyer, to discuss dates,’ Susan recalls. ‘In all we met him three times. But Frank found a reason why every date he put forward was unsuitable.

Sports / Falcao The Difference As Uruguay Beat Strong Eagles by oyadalo: 1:55am On Jun 21, 2013
Falcao The Difference As Eagles loose 1:@ to Uruguay
Uruguay picked up a hugely important three points in Group B of the Confederations Cup as they defeated Nigeria 2-1 at the Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador.

The South Americans started impressively and Diego Lugano, who will miss the next game after picking up his second yellow card of the tournament, soon broke the deadlock.

John Obi Mikel equalised with a fine finish but in the second half Diego Forlan marked his 100th cap for the national team with the winning goal, as Stephen Keshi's men paid the price for failing to test Fernando Muslera for much of the game.

Uruguay began brightly but were unable to take control of the game during the early stages as Nigeria proved a threat on the counterattack.

La Celeste lost momentum but still opened the scoring in the 19th minute. Forlan's deflected cross was unintentionally dummied by Edinson Cavani at the near post and an unmarked Lugano scuffed the ball into the back of the net.

Some last-ditch defending from Maxi Pereira stopped Brown Ideye from getting a shot away on goal moments later while, at the other end, Forlan was unable to squeeze a Luis Suarez cross in at the near post with 26 minutes played.

The game had gone flat after Oscar Tabarez's side had taken the lead, but the crowd were sparked back into life eight minutes before the break when the Super Eagles restored parity.

Ideye fed Mikel at the top of the box and the Chelsea midfielder jinked past the static Lugano and bent a fine left-footed finish into the top corner.

Mikel Obi Denies Galatasaray Move

Jon Obi Mikel has denied making comments about a move to Galatasaray attributed to him in Turkey.

Chelsea’s Nigerian midfielder had been quoted as saying he was close to a move to the Turkish side, and that he had discussed it with their striker and his former Chelsea team-mate Didier Drogba.

But Mikel has denied giving the interview and insisted that he never said the words.

Chelsea are looking at midfield reinforcements this summer, as Jose Mourinho tries to put his stamp on the squad.

The Independent reported earlier in the week they were seriously looking at Sevilla’s 20-year-old Geoffrey Kondogbia.

Chelsea are also thought to be keen on Wigan Athletic’s James McCarthy, likely to leave after Wigan’s relegation, and Marco Van Ginkel, the Holland Under-21 player currently at Vitesse.

Politics / Unbelievable:ahead 2016: Dickson Recruits 10,000 Cultists 17 June by oyadalo: 7:13am On Jun 17, 2013
shocked

Gov Seriake Henry Dickson of Bayelsa State on Saturday stunned the public and observers of political developments with the announcement of enlistment in a youth empowerment programme of 10,000 of the 11,000 youths who reportedly renounced cultism.

The governor, who was speaking an elaborate ceremony at the Bounquet Hall in Yenagoa, said he had set aside N1 billion for the programmes to ensure they become self-reliant.

"If we do not help to build you all, then our future will not be assured,” he told them. “You are all aware of what our Restoration Government is doing; building schools, roads, hospitals, investing in security and making our state safe, talking to people to come here to invest so that we can create jobs for you.

“All of these will come to nothing, if we don’t help to equip you with the skills that you need to partake in the economy to protect our future.” He promised that the exercise is just the beginning, and that his team will conduct a meticulous verification exercise to select the 10,000 beneficiaries, local government by local government.

“When we are through with all of these, we are going to engage you in a special youth empowerment programme. A total of 10,000 youths will be engaged” Dickson said.

The announcement however caused a stir among those youths who were not part of the 11,000 that earlier registered to renounce cult participation.

The state government had announced the provision of free transportation from the eight council areas, a development that caused several thousands of youths to join the bandwagon.

One of the so-called “repentant cultists” told our reporter that he was lured to join the group because of the empowerment attached to it.

"I can tell you that most of us here are here for the money, since the government is rewarding the lawless and punishing the lawful we have to play along, first it was the militants, now it is the cultists, may be armed robbers and kidnappers will be the next.

"This same government just increased tax burden on civil servants and has announced it will impose additional levies on citizens for refuse disposal. Since there is nothing for the law abiding ones, we have to survive, that is the game," said one of them.

It was however learnt that Dickson bought into the idea for calculated political gains ahead of the 2015 general elections and his re-election contest in 2016.

Said a resident, "This is just an exercise to worsen the spate of violence, we all know the history of militancy, the initial cache of arms they used were remnants from election duties and that was what took us to where we are today. It is rather unfortunate that we are all sitting on a keg of gunpowder by this policy of government. Let them wake up if they are dreaming.”

Why We Oppose Use Of Condom – Catholic Church
shocked

The Catholic church says it opposes artificial family planning techniques, because it encourages bastardisation of sexual activities by young people and “impedes normal procreation.”

The Secretary-General of the Catholic Secretariat of Nigeria, Rev. Fr. Ralph Madu, made this clarification in a response to an enquiry by The PUNCH on Sunday.

He said, “The Catholic Church believes that modern means, including the use of condoms is morally bad because it impedes normal procreation. You can meet with your wife when you do not want children and those periods when the woman is not fertile instead of having to destroy the sperm and all other forms of artificial prevention.

“They are very artificial means and they do not really give the moral lesson that borders around the use of the sexual organs.

Sports / Mexico 1-2 Italy: Balotelli The Hero As Italy Leaves It Almost Too Late by oyadalo: 11:26pm On Jun 16, 2013
Mexico 1-2 Italy: Balotelli fires winner in Rio
Andrea Pirlo's fantastic free-kick on his 100th Azzurri appearance was canceled out by Javier Hernandez' penalty, and a draw seemed inevitable until the striker powered home

Italy left it late to get their Confederations Cup campaign off to a winning start by defeating Mexico 2-1
The Azzurri dominated large spells of the first half and the game appeared to be going according to plan when Andrea Pirlo, on his 100th cap, curled in a breathtaking free-kick to break the deadlock after 27 minutes.

But a horrendous mistake by Andrea Barzagli saw him concede a penalty seven minutes later, from which Javier Hernandez converted coolly to level the scores before the break.

Mario Balotelli would spare Italy's blushes 12 minutes from time though, powering through towards goal and finishing to secure all three points and keep his side on pace with Group A leaders Brazil, who beat Japan on Saturday.

Ten out of the 11 members of Italy’s starting lineup were on the books of either Juventus or AC Milan, with Daniele De Rossi of Roma the lone exception.

For Mexico, Giovani dos Santos and Javier Aquino returned to the XI after sitting out the 0-0 draw with Costa Rica, while Gerardo Torrado began in midfield for his 141st cap.

Italy controlled the initial exchanges, as Balotelli and Emanuele Giaccherini narrowly missed, before the former’s low drive forced a save out of Jose de Jesus Corona, who lapped up the rebound at the feet of the latter.

It seemed like only a matter of time before they took the lead, but Mexico fired a warning shot back in their direction when Dos Santos slipped in Andres Guardado at the top of the box, who rattled the bar with a ferocious effort.

With a quarter of an hour gone, Pirlo was then chopped to the turf inside the area after pressure from a pair of Mexico defenders, but the referee ignored the frantic Italy appeals for a penalty.

But Pirlo would soon get his revenge, and after Italy were awarded a free kick 25 yards from goal, the newly-minted centurion stepped up to bend magnificently into the top corner.

Italy’s joy was short-lived, however, as hesitation from Barzagli allowed Dos Santos the chance to nip the ball off his toes and he was promptly fouled inside the area by the defender in an attempt to cover his mistake.

And Hernandez made no mistake from 12 yards out, sending Gianluigi Buffon the wrong way with a low strike to the right corner.

Moments after the restart, Pirlo nearly caused more damage with another set piece from just outside the box, which was deflected into the path of Riccardo Montolivo, who could not beat Corona from a few yards out.

But despite the Milan midfielder’s irrepressible threat from any free kick within 40 yards of goal, the second half did not quite progress in the swashbuckling manner as the first.

With an hour gone, Italy were denied another penalty after Balotelli appeared to be pulled back inside the area by Hector Moreno, only for the referee to wave play on, much to the striker’s fury.

Mexico appeared to have abandoned all interest in attacking, and seemed content to sit deep and soak up the Italian pressure, which mostly manifested itself in little more than catching practice for Corona.

But on a rare foray forward, Dos Santos won a free kick near the corner flag, from which Guardado delivered into Gerardo Flores, who narrowly missed the target with his head.

The match seemed to be petering out to an inevitable draw, but in the 78th minute, with one show of strength, Balotelli turned past Francisco 'Maza' Rodriguez and drilled past Corona with aplomb.

Mexico rallied late on in the opposition half, but fell flat as Buffon was not called into action, and Cesare Prandelli's men closed out the game to seal an important victory.

Excerpts:

It seems reggae music is going down in Nigeria. Unlike other genres of music, there has not been any new thing in reggae music. So, as a reggae musician, how do you intend to revive it?

Reggae music cannot go down, because reggae music is like a gospel music, we just need the right people to play it, that is it. But, why reggae music is going down is just because we don’t have the right people to play it. In our time, we had competition, Kimono, me, Oritz Wiliki, we had what I can call destructive competition like what they had in juju music then.

Make You Dey Shayo Dey Go: “Nigeria Has 7 Hospitals For Kidney Transplant” – FG

Seven tertiary hospitals in Nigeria have been equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and personnel to undertake kidney transplant, the local VANGUARD newspaper quoted the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, as saying Thursday in Abuja, the Nigerian capital city.

It also quoted the minister, who was speaking at the 2013 Ministerial Platform, as also saying that the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital had the capacity to undertake open heart surgery.

The minister said: “With this achievements and improvement in the health sector, there is no need for anyone to leave Nigeria to other countries for medical treatment, apart from cases where we do not have expertise in Nigeria because no country in the world can provide all the health needs of its people”.

He noted that in an effort to ensure that Nigerians imbibed healthy lifestyle, his ministry was intensifying efforts and collaborating with members of the National Assembly to ensure that the tobacco bill became law.

This, according to him, will moderate the smoking habit of the people and prevent them from contracting deadly diseases, such as cancer, lungs diseases and many others.

“In the same vein, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, is also reviewing its laws to provide stiffer penalty for fake drug manufacturers and importers,” he stressed.

The minister also revealed that, “very soon, herbal medicine will soon be introduced in our medical schools. This is because before you treat any disease, you must have the ability to diagnose it and administer the needed treatment. Herbal medicine practitioners will be given the needed training to perform optimally. ”

He charged Nigerians to embrace the various health insurance programmes introduced by the National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, stressing that for Nigerians to have access to affordable, effective and efficient healthcare services, health insurance was the way to go.

Celebrities / Obadare To Be Buried In Gold Plated Casket by oyadalo: 2:54pm On Jun 15, 2013
undecided

The late Apostle Timothy Obadare would be buried in a gold-plated casket as a mark of honour for his contributions to Christendom.

This was disclosed by his first son, Pastor Paul Obadare, during a press briefing organised by the family and his protégés in Lagos on the burial arrangement.

Obadare said, "The coffin to be used for the burial of our father, Apostle Timothy Obadare, is taken after the type used for the burial of the late Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston."

However, Saturday PUNCH's check showed that these celebrities were buried in Batesville-branded golden caskets, which cost between $25,000 and $30,000.

He said the late founder of World Soul Winning Evangelical Ministry deserved to be so honoured.

Paul, who is the General Overseer of the church in the United States of America, described his father as a national figure, who made lasting impact on the nation in his time.

He said other events lined up for the burial of the renowned evangelist include an exhibition of snapshots of crusade documentaries.

He added that there will be lying-in-state in Ilesha, Osun State in a transparent ambulance.

"Our father was a renowned teacher of the bible, a great missionary, crusader and devoted apostle of Jesus Christ. He lived a well-fulfilled exemplary life of a good Christian.

"He served man and God before his passing. We the children, biological and spiritual, have come together to give him a deserving burial as a national figure.

"There will be service of songs in Ilesha, Akure, Ibadan and Lagos, while he will be interred at a mausoleum prepared for his final rest at WOSEM conference ground at Ilesha-Ife, in Osun State," he added.

Meanwhile, one of his protégés, Pastor Ladi Thompson, among others, extolled the virtues of the late preacher
