Six-year-old Girl Kidnapped Ojo military barracks, Lagos (Photo)

A six-year-old schoolgirl, Oluwajuwon Akinsanya, has been abducted by unidentified persons at the Ojo Military Cantonment, Lagos.

The primary one pupil of Maryam Bliss International School, Ojo, was said to be sleeping in the room with her parents in Block II, Flat 5, Engineer Quarters, when she was whisked away by the abductors.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the men also stole the phone, money and recharge cards (vouchers) of the victim’s parents. Her mother, Yetunde, told our correspondent that the family had yet to be contacted by the abductors since the incident happened in January.

She stated that she had visited more than 200 places seeking help, adding that she was sexually harassed in one of the religious houses she visited.

Yetunde said,
“On January 20, 2016, around 4.30am, while we were asleep, I suddenly heard a loud noise and I woke up.
“I checked the floor where my daughter normally slept, but I didn’t see her. Her younger brother, Enoch, was on the bed with my husband and I. I thought she went to the toilet to urinate.
“However, when I checked the place, I didn’t find her. It was when I got to the kitchen and met the door opened that I knew intruders had come in. They came in from the kitchen.“They took my bag and removed all the money there. They also emptied my purse where I kept the recharge cards I sold to people. My husband’s phone was equally taken away.”

She said she reported the matter to the Ojo Barracks Military Police and the victim’s father was arrested. She said the military authorities said her husband was the first suspect. He was, however, later released and three other suspects arrested.

The suspects – Mercy Akere, Ayodeji Akinsanya and Segun Akinsanya –were alleged to have been accused by Yetunde of issuing threats against her family.

Our correspondent gathered that the military later released the suspects, saying there was no evidence against them.Yetunde, a trader, said a member of her husband’s family took her to an orthodox church for help. She alleged that the pastor after giving her a fake prophecy of her daughter’s whereabouts, sexually harassed her.
“I complained to my in-law who took me to his church, and he called the pastor in my presence to challenge him.
“The pastor told him on the telephone that he only used a candle to rub my breasts because that was what my child sucked; and my private parts, because that was where she came out from. He said he did it so that the deliverance would be quicker,” she said.
Oluwajuwon’s mother, who expressed dissatisfaction at the way the military were handling the case, said she asked for a transfer to a civilian police station, but the Officer-in-Charge, Major Obot, refused.

When contacted, Major Obot declined comment, saying he was not authorised to speak with PUNCH Metro.

“I am not the right person to talk about the case. The child’s father is a military officer and the case is being handled by the military because it happened in the barracks,” he said.
The victim’s father, Sunday, a sergeant, said he did not suspect his relatives or girlfriend, adding that he was also not in support of the matter being transferred from the military.
He said, “My wife is only suspecting my relatives and girlfriend because before this incident happened, we had a misunderstanding.
“I am a military officer and I can tell you that investigations are ongoing. I suspect those who surround my wife, but I know soon, God will expose those behind this.”

Sunday’s brother, Segun, who was among those initially arrested, denied knowing anything about the abduction of the child. He said he had not been in talking terms with Yetunde prior to the incident, adding she wanted to get back at him with the incident.

A counsel in the Femi Falana Chamber, Mrs. Olakitan Boluagbaje, said the chamber was preparing a petition to the state Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, for the case to be transferred from the military police.

She said, “I can’t imagine that such a thing could happen in a military barracks. And the way the military officers are handling the matter is pathetic.
“The main actors in this case are civilians, and it is only reasonable that the case is transferred to the police. We will be writing the CP to request the transfer of the case to him.”

Henz24:
My opinion is quite split on this one.
Firstly, those claiming they wrote a mock jamb and were fantastic and all dat, its good to note that jamb uses negative marking, you might feel you did fantastic in the exam and yeah mayb u got 300 questions right but failed 100, ur end score will be 300 minus 100 wich is 200, that's how jamb marks. My advice for those writing next year is to answer only the questions they are hundred percent sure off and don't guess, this way you will have no issue with their negative markings and all the wahala that comes with it

Secondly, to the Op, the fact that you managed to get 243 or watever does not make others dull or unserious, you should learn to talk. I totally don't understand why you are against remarking it, if you are sure of yourself, then you got no worries, I scored 256 but I really want them to remark because I know I deserve more than 256.

Secondly, if you are intelligent enough, after an exam you should be able to say if you performed well or not even before the result drops, these days, you will write jamb expecting to get high in a particular subject and at the end of the day, that subject might be d one u end up getting the least mark, its ridiculous

Lastly, it takes the grace of God to score high marks in an exam, it also takes his grace to gain admission into the university, I remember my first jamb, I scored 236 and most of my friends got below 200 but they are all in school now, while am still battling with jamb. The fact that you scaled through does not guarantee you will be admitted and the fact that others dint score as high as they wanted does not mean q won't be admitted.... Its all in God's hand
I support you 100%..it takes Gods grace really and that's what the monkey should be praying for instead of ranting .

JAMB 2016 SHOULD NOT BE SCRAPPED/REMARKED...

I Have Been Reading Online Posts On Nairaland, MySchool & Some Other Blogs, And I Kept Seeing Lazy Users Screaming, Calling For The Scrapping Of Jamb 2016.
I Simply Read & Laugh At These Posts.

After This Post, Richiez , olawalebabs , Fynestboi & Lalasticlala Should Stop Paying Attention To Those UnPrepared/ Dull Candidates Calling For The Scrapping Of JAMB 2016. Because, As Far As You Are Intelligent, You Must Definitely beat The Mere 180+ Cutoff Mark, Even If Your Result Was Poorly Marked.

Jamb Has Been In Existence Since 1978. And It Has Been The Only Body Screening Secondary School Leavers Before Post Utme Was Introduced In 2005.

Fast forward To 2015 When CBT Was Fully Introduced, Its Safe To Say That It Was Success. And Now 2016, And I Must Say It Is A Huge Success As Well. For All Those Screaming #RemarkJamb2016 / #ScrabJamb2016, I Am Sorry To Say You All Are Dead Heads, Empty Brain.

Before You Throw Stones At Me. I Also Wrote This Years Jamb And Scored 243, Reason Was That I Prepared 100%. I Got All My Essential Chemistry, Physics, Maths & English Text Books. Plus Downloaded The Syllabus Of Each Subject & Read It Word For Word. (That's The Criteria For Passing JAMB)

I Didn't Rely On Past Questions Like Most Of You Did. I guess That's The Reason Why Y'all Failed. Also, Most Of Y'all Spent All Your Time On Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter While The Wise Ones Was Busy Preparing.

Plus Those Of You Making Stupid Suggestions On Scrapping Jamb, Meaning Whosoever Passed WAEC Would Just Go And Sit For Post Utme. WTF
WAEC Is The Most Corrupt Exam Body, As SS3 students No Longer Write WAEC By Themselves. They Now Depend On Miracle Centers.

My Advice To Those Who Scored Below 180 In This Years Jamb Exam Is: Quit Most Of Your Online Activities & LOVE Your Book. For God's Sake What Is Wrong With This Indomie Generation

You Guys Are Just Too Lazy To Read. And It Is The Lazy Ones That Are Screaming #ScrapJamb, While The Intelligent Ones (Me Inclusive) Are Already Preparing For Post Utme.

#Peace!

JAMB is so annoying..
I killed Maths completely, as in I finished it, I was expecting not less than 85, they gave me 30.
I don't know English at all, I just guessed all through, I was expecting marks like 12,13 and they gave me 32..
The most painful part, my best subject Chemistry, I was expecting not less than 95 bkos I knew everything and I also crosschecked as soon as I finished my jamb, but they gave me 18
Then Physics, I was just expecting God to lead d way, and to my surprise, they gave me 14 making a total of 94..
And pls can I still use this result to gain admission into OAU? Or should I wait till next year bkos I'm tired of staying at home. Arrghh!! Since 2004 that I've been writing jamb..
JAMB is so annoying!!!!
This must be a joke

Oh my God!

Some one should answer this person ASAP!

I don't think it's possible though. because You get marked absent if you don't login on the day of your exam. and your sit number is given to another person.
Nope he cant if you Check your slip you'll see it there if you miss your schedule you forfeit the right to sit for the examination..You'd have tried going there now or was the sickness so bad...sorry niwais...You'd have to try again next year
