let's get something straight here. . . . .having a truck of mobile policemen detailed to someone is no big deal. if you are utterly minted, you can get the same service for $$$$. paddy adenuga will be mobbed by lagosians if he walks freely. we all see what area boys do to ordinary nollywood stars let alone the son of a rich mogul(mike adenuga). i have no problem with him walking around with bodyguards but their behaviour must be checked. there's media in nigeria, somebody should write to the big media houses and make this known. the pen is mightier than the gun.



Well said , Most rich guys in Nigeria have police escort, though most of them are Spy police. Adenuga will be mobbed by area boys if he dare walk alone on lagos streets, although i do not support the policemen beating up anybody .

Thats the converter, but i doubt if all the internet dependent functions on your TV will work, the converter is just to convert NTSC Signal to pal.

By design it will not work, unless u are buying a muiti-system TV from USA(which they don't produce any more in USA)because TV design for USA recieves NTSC signal and 110V. and nigeria recieves PAL and 240V. multi -system TV receives all signal( PAL,NTSC SECAM)
but if you already have one and you want it to work. Get a PAL to NTSC tuner and a voltage converter that will stepdown the voltage from 240v to 110. if the voltage doesnt vary between 110 to 240. since it is a digital it will accept both analog and digital signal(u can see local station)



you are absolutely right.

@poster it wont work you need a signal converter, USA uses the NTSC system while PAL is used in Nigeria. i experienced this about a yr ago and i bought this converter.

Its a shame that custom officers are doing rubbish on the highway and punishing people unnecessarily, where dem dey when the cars passed thru the border, if they mean business why cant they impound it right there, but all na corruption, some of their official will collect settlement and let the car pass, the owner is on his own if he encounters any other custom checkpoint. i think its more reasonable to leave their checkpoint only to the borders. its their failure that such cars ever pass thru the border in the first place , so they should not be harrassing people on the highway.


And even when you have the correct papers and the car came in through lagos port, they still find way to extort you.
i was once told that the duty paid on my car is too small, that they will impound the car if i dont drop something.Can you imagine !!!!!.

i had a similar experience with ARIK on THE 5TH of may 2008, i bought a ticket of =N=23,000, to Naf Base(port harcout)
.When the flight was called, we are only 4 passengers, the ARIK officials took us in the bus to the plane , and they later said the plane is faulty and we are told to go in the other flight to Port harcourt international airport(a flight of =N=17,000) No apologies, No Refund of money, they cannot even compensate by putting the 4 of us in Business Class.
its a total Rip off.
