Wonderlands:It is the PDPs conduit pipe for robbing the nation blind. From OBJ to GEJ |
naijaking1:I don't need any effort at fooling people like you, you're a perfect example of what you wanna be. What's the deceit in my post? Kindly point it out. I'm keen to learn. |
When a man perform woefully in an examination, he is not asked to repeat the class but ADVISED TO WITHDRAW. I think the president has done the best he can, he should step aside for a more productive and globally acclaimed performer. |
GEJ made 91 campaign promises, how many has he delivered on? Between February and March, 2011, President Goodluck Jonathan, as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), toured the entire nation on campaign. Each stopover he made, he dropped at least two campaign promises. National dailies reported them as he unleashed the promises. The International Press Centre (IPC), Lagos-Nigeria, in partnership with the Institute for War and Peace Reporting documented them – 91 of them! IPC documented the promises under 13 subtitles including infrastructural development, power, economy, energy and gas and security. Tit abi what did you use as your moniker? I hate being quoted by people who can't project their brainal matter into matters at hand. Ajimobi as an individual can afford to buy 10million naira cloths for his daughter long before he became governor, fayemi's 50million naira bed exist in the figment of your imagination, don't even go near fashola, the governors were asking for their statutory allocation that were significantly reduced yet crude prices were going higher then not that ECA should be shared. Can you stick to topic now? |

ibedun:Heard the ministry of Finance is preparing another benchmark of $65 to present to the national assembly when they reconvene. Clearly her performance under OBJ is a far cry from her 5years or so under GEJ. Her forecast and plain concealing of outright corrupt acts by cronies and goons of the government has led nigeria to where we are now. She introduced the ECA to OBJ and saw to it that there was enough funds in that account infact the ECA was competing with our foreign reserves until the $12bn debt buy out from the Paris club. Now, same ECA has just $2.1bn in its accounts and crude oil never sold as high as it did in the last 5years until last 2months and nigeria as a country had undisrupted crude output unlike the niger delta militancy OBJ and Yar Adua had to contend with. Where did all the monies go to? How can a Nation be held hostage by crooks and rogues. |
The professor lost every iota of respect I had for her the moment she agreed that $10.8bn is unaccounted for by the NNPC and she had engaged auditors to audit their account. 8months after her so called audit exercise the missing monies have not yet waka come back and the auditor's report Nigerians have not seen. Can this be a case of bad company corrupting good manners? A yoruba adage says " a sheep that makes friendship with dogs will equally eat poo" |
By Dele Sobowale “Nobody steps into the same river twice.” Chinese Proverb. On Thursday, November 27, 2014, the PUNCH, on page 14 reported as follows: “Don’t blame me for naira devaluation – Okonjo-Iweala.” In the report, the Minister of Finance, was quoted as saying that “Nigeria has what it takes to manage its way through. Benchmark for the budget 2015 had been lowered to more realistic $73 per barrel. Never in the history of budgeting in Nigeria had a Finance Minister been so often wrong as Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala had been this year. But before presenting the irrefutable evidence, a quick remark is needed about her self-acquittal from blame for the devaluation. Certainly, the Finance Minister cannot be blamed for devaluation. However, Dr Ngozi, like a serial offender, had simply addressed the one matter on which she will be exonerated. She had left the other charges of incompetence, self-serving public utterances and subordination of the national economic interest to the political ambition of her boss. In that regard she had done severe damage to the economy and to President Jonathan himself. Her departure, either through resignation or dismissal is a matter of time. And the reasons are not hard to find. Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala First, she sent a budget to the National Assembly, with $78 as benchmark, at a time when the price of crude oil was already sliding downwards. We told her $78 was unrealistic; she stuck to her guns. Second, when crude came down to under $80 per barrel, she sent her “more realistic” budget based on $73 per barrel. Again, we cautioned that the figure is still unrealistic. As fate would have it, the price of crude oil fell below $73 per barrel the day after she was beating her chest about presenting a “more realistic” budget. That second budget is again on its way to the trash can – after millions of naira had been spent on it. On Friday, November 28, 2014, the price of Brent crude, Nigeria’s light crude went below $73 and it is expected to fall further. The consequences of the difference between $78 and whatever will be the final destination for Nigeria are extremely grave. Yet, the Minister of Finance is down-playing a global, as well as, a national catastrophe about to occur. That is the reason she should pack up and go or be shown the way out. Certainly, no Chief Financial Officer of First Bank, Shell or Nestle S.A could have been wrong so often in a matter of days and survive the embarrassment to the company. “If a man takes no thought about what is distant, he will soon find sorrow near at hand.” Confucius, 551-497 BC. (VANGUARD BOOK of QUOTATIONS, pp70-71). It is not just a man; a government and its Ministers, who take no thought to the future soon find themselves in a situation in which three budgets are presented in three months. The signs of our present problems were there for those who cared, like me, to see as early as last year. The Finance Minister, had abandoned planning and forecasting for mere allocation of revenue and (mis)management of the Excess Crude Account, ECA. She had led the President, who will be the first to suffer the consequences of her unpardonable errors, into a fool’s paradise. Nothing is more untruthful than the declaration that “Nigeria has what it takes to manage its way through.” That is pure drivel and she must be the only person who believes that. Even a market woman whose main product is no longer in demand, without a credible alternative, knows that disaster is at hand. Dr Ngozi either believes that statement, in which case she should go for refresher course in basic economics or doesn’t believe it, which is worse; and she should just go. Trend analysis and forecasting become very valuable tools for economists during periods of dynamic uncertainty. For close to a year, we had been drawing attention to economic disaster which is now at our door step. At this time, we need a Finance Minister who can be realistic and manage poverty; Okonjo-Iweala is living in dreamland. P.S. Is it not curious that nobody in the Federal Government or Nigeria ever asked me how I could be so accurate with my predictions? http://www.vanguardngr.com/2014/12/goodbye-okonjo-iweala/#sthash.d2iKkcI0.dpuf Modified The minister later withdrew her budget with the $73 and resubmitted another with $65 as benchmark. Seems she's losing her midas touch and competence. Is the ailment "jonad.aftism" contagious? |
There seems to a lackadaisical approach to successive jailbreaks incidences across the country since the commencement of this government. Jailbreak in prisons across nigeria now seems like routine crime like carjacking and pocketpicking in nigeria. Today we read about another successful jail break in Minna, add that to the one last week in Ado Ekiti, Kotonkarfe 2ce this year, gombe prisons, Bauchi, yobe, taraba, Many in Borno which makes it puzzling why we are recording such cases of prison break in prez jonaTAN regime. Is it a case of anything goes or deep rooted corruption in the system as seen in other spheres of this government? The prez just sacked the comptroller general and a day after we had the jailbreak in minna. My grouse is even deeper when one look at the response of the prison service and the police and the already known incompetent Abba Moro of the famed Immigration debacle. Why is the news media both prints and news media not awash with pictures and profile of the excaped prisoners by now, why should people in nigeria be exposed to murderers, rapists, terrorists, kidnappers, thieves and ritualists and the government not deem it necessary to avail the populace to be on the lookout for certain individuals. How can we keep going on as usual as if nothing in happening in the face of Threat to National Security that this numerous episodes of jailbreak pose to the collective well-being of the country. Boko Haram is getting ready and determined footsoldiers by these men who will do anything to remain fugitive of the law and do anything to avoid being recaptured. God help and keep Nigeria from the inept, ineffective and incompetent leadership presiding its affairs at the moment . Everything seems going wrong in Nigeria and its citizens are not asking questions. What is Abba Moro still doing in Government as a minister after all of these and past error of judgement by this minister who seems not to know his duties? Really pissed with this government. |
mikeansy:Hmmmmmm nice political calculation . Just like he gave Nuhu Ribadu the Minister of Police Affairs and Anti corruption Head. |
Something aint going right here or someone didn't get the instruction to let go. Nigerian government just signed a military arms deal with russia, will same russia jeopardise same military deal 2weeks into the deal? Is someone trying to be smart by half? We will get the truth about Boko Haram very soon. The blood of the innocent crying and seeking justice and they will surely get it. Someone is jittery and they will commit errors soon just as they did with pastor bling bling jet. |
Lagos is indeed blessed. Barcanista it is obvious no one presented by the PDP can defeat any contender in the APC except maybe councillors or Local government chairmanship. Ade Dosunmu cannot defeat Remi if she is running, the credentials of Tinubu just got more higher and cleaner, no one can say he imposed or bulldozed Ambode to the ticket like he did for Fashola in 2007. He was silent and was involved codedly so as not to be seen to be favouring any candidate. I don't expect any defection this time for it was clear the process was fair and clean. I'm happy for the progressive folks and I love being a supporter of this great Party. When you have a Tambuwal, Elrufai and Amosun in your party I think one can be sure of good governance. |
barcanista:Its clear you don't know GOS. |
barcanista:Plan B when only 14lgas have voted. Ashafa is not running and he is tinubu's boy, fashola had his own agenda too. GOS is a made man on his own, the party need him else the grip on lagos east can be loosened. Could return to the senate I guess that is if he lost out tonight |
barcanista:No additional wards and LGAs. The primaries are purely on the constitutionally recognised 20lgas. This is the tighest primaries in the history of the party since 1999. Not sure for ambo yet, GOS is the candidate of those wanting the whittle down tinubu's hold. So it is the reason why he is strong and properly backed. Ambo state of origin speculation too did their camp some level of damage. GoS na my homeboy you need understand my bias |
Kosofe has not voted, ibeju lekki hasn't, amuwo odofin hasn't , lagos island hasn't, surulere , ikeja all have not voted so it is premature to say one person has won. |
barcanista:Barca the delegates were selected by an open process at the wards. They could tell you yes in your presence and do something else when voting Ajeromi-ifelodun never vote, amuwo odofin never vote it is not yet uhuru for Ambode or anyone. GOS in neck deep in it, it is a straight battle btw the both of them. The Ambode winning false flag is to influence the delegates voting decision because the tinubu faction are scared already. Forget wetin you dey hear for news. Ambode or GOS can clinch it both are ado ok for me. |
barcanista:You won't tell me you've seen through the ballot boxes. You sure are a magician. Alimosho has the highest delegates, followed by ikorodu then mushin you sure don't think GOS is just sitting at the venue while others are leaving because he loves the ambience of onikan. Its a two way horserace bro. GOS is deep in it bro forget what you heard or imagined. Could go either way btw the two of them. |
Obiagelli:20LGAs but the 37 lcda embedded into the 20. Been a while I entered that side of lagos not sure if they have flood lights there now. |
Ambode won yet only 11 local government areas delegates have concluded voting. Make una take am easy na |
barcanista:When you raise sasore, hamzat and leke pitan above GOS, I just decide to let go, for it shows you follow the media more the reality on the ground. All the best to the contestants. |
barcanista:I'm not rooting for GOS nor am I saying he is gonna win. In lagos, those who know him knows his worth, he control the politics of Lagos East and his past as Chairman of Mushin, influence in Alimosho, agege, oshodi and the fact he grew up in shomolu and is a son of ikorodu makes him a force to be reckoned with. If there is crisis within the camp of tinubu and fashola, GOS will nick it. Ambode's candidacy has been watered down with the allegation he is not a lagosian, Shasore's emergence came in late so GOS had all things going right for him. If tinubu and fashola don't collabo GOS will win. Amzat will dominate Ikeja and put strength from Oshodi based on the father's pedigree in the axis. Tinubu and Fashola will fish in same water, Ikuforiji will win epe, ibeju lekki being from the axis, leke pitan is from Agbowa axis and can divide the delegate from epe and ketu area with the speaker. GOS has a solid ground and he is not challenged in his strong base. Abike Dabiri is not contesting so he is on solid footing. There will be surprises today. |
barcanista:There was no primaries in the AC in 2007 all tinubu did was to foist Fashola on the state which turned out a good venture. Positions in the AD from 1999 was shared and allocated up till 2003. Afikuyomi was part of NADECO so it is understood why he had to let go. GOS is the grassroot, he can only lose out if tinubu and fashola join forces but if there is division in their camps as it is now, forget it GOS could just nick it. There was never any real primaries like this in the AD AC ACN days of the party, he only allowed party supremacy to prevail. Tinubu had to step down for him in 2007 to pacify and reward him for his loyalty to the party. |
Alphaoscar:The truth alphaoscar is that GOS is a much loved and cherished personality. He was and has been a grassroot politician to the core. He has been chairman of one the most populated LG in Nigeria, he controls Alimosho, Mushin and Agege, oshodi, isolo, ipaja axis completely. He is from ikorodu and surely all of imota, igbogbo, ikorodu, ijede, ipokodo, ikorodu north and west, odogunyan etc are sure bankers even down to kosofe. He was appeased and begged to step down for Tinubu in 1999 by the NADECO leaders so ignore GOS at your own peril. He is a muslim and off course the most prominent real and true lagosians are mostly muslims, islam came to the south west mostly through lagos. So the religion factor favours him also even though religion rarely matter in the politics of lagos. Others are new breed politicians, the fashola and tinubu boys, GOS has been relevant and known since the days of UPN and SDP. There is a large clamour for power shift to Ikorodu division also, all other four divisions have produced civilian governors of lagos except old Ikorodu division. I hope he wins anyway, but I'm cool with him, sashore, ambode weakened by the non true lagosian tag or Hamzat or Pitan. Lagos is blessed with worthy successors. |
Declare mourning ke. When he was not captured and shown cutting his birthday cake 2days after the mass killing of school boys in Gombe. This is the most ruthless, inhuman and heartless presidency in the whole world. More concerned about him retaining Aso Rock than the state of the nation. Where the boys in FGC Buni Yadi mourned, did he not play ignorance of the chibok saga until the foreign media took the matter up? Did he not only see the need to see the parents of the girls after malala told him so. This nation and it presidency is a joke. |
They kept awarding and stealing same money. roads bad as far back as 1999 when anenih collected funds, siphoned and abandoned. Ogunlewe collected money for the Ikorodu to shagamu road project as far back as 2004/5 they started it from ikorodu roundabout and it stopped funnily infront of his Club house less than 7km done for a project of about 90km yet they are both walking free. If not for the curse of the oba of benin the ore to benin expressway would still remain as it were. Took the obi of onitsha subtle complain to even make the looters go do groundbreaking charade at the 2nd Niger bridge. Roads he didn't do in 5years, na 2months to election he remember human beings ply those manholes and swimming pools motorways that can abort a 3month old foetus. Useless brainless and worthless political party of rogues and thieves. 15years and nothing to show as achievement and a great national pride. His wife just remembered women are hungry too going round states sharing rice and oil after 5years of stupid economic policies and outright stealing of our commonwealth. God dey, in next valentine day I believe . |
We have a kindergarten class captain and not a president. Who calls a trial and error captain a prez. A president who is scared of visiting his own troops can't be called one. A prez who was openly challenged by an ex-militant not to come to a state under his territory and he truly chickened out like a fowl can't be called a prez. The time and wind of change is here patriotic nigerians, let's vote out this nursery school class captain and vote a tested trusted and manly general of the people. Vote Buhari and see the change we clamour. Vote Buhari and be the change you want. |
hahahahahaha the most foolish people are gathered in the PDP. When the substancial suit is left fallow and you now have counter suits on stay of proceedings and judicial mumbo jumbo without relevance. What you will get is adjournment and postponement. By the time the real case is called up, Tambuwal done finish 2nd term as governor of sokoto state in 2023. |
It was obvious and clear that if it wssnt Abuja then it has to be lagos. I have mentioned it weeks ago that it was going to be the magnigicient teslim balogun stadium and the National stadium surulere as parking lot. Nice coordination and choice, lagos gat the media and the hype and the governor of lagos state is the poster boy of the APC. It was an easy choice to make. Hotels plenty, security dey, good roads dey, brt dey, lastma dey so it was clear where it can only be if it is not abuja. Pity for my party men from yobe, borno, crossrivers and akwa ibom. Those are the farthest distance from lagos point to print. Eko for show, eko oni baje, o ba je ti. |
May the best man win, true reflection of the beauty of democracy no one knows who can carry or who will carry the day. Not like a Party which printed only one form for a presidential primaries. Nice makeup and the mix of an Igbo and a middle beltan throw spanner into any specation or domination by any candidate. Seeing an Hillary clinton and barack obama great rivalry in the Build up towards obama's first term. The south west is the beautiful bride again in this contest. Whoever wins this gets Aso rock. |
