Guess who was president 3years ago. First it was Manitoba, then came pardon of Mohammed Abacha, ifeanyi ubah, fani Kayode is free too despite the billions stolen by the first two, our commonwealth, then came the $10.8bn okonjo iweala said was unaccounted for in the NNPC and after spending millions of dollars engaging international auditors for 10months now the money never waka come back. Pension fund na him, faruk lawan na same person dey there, minister of petroleum who used 10bn for 1year to pay her private jet. Stella oduah na same person dey there. Truly this guy is either a thief or he is an accessory to stealing. Haba why is Nigeria so cursed to have had PDP ruled it for 16years. Obasanjo stole his own, jonaTAN own come wear cap. Why will anyone want to vote PDP and jonaTAN next year except deranged and blind bigots who pretend blind to all of these and more |
donphilopus:Lolzzzz sorry bro. Lagos is where the koko is. Watch how we will subsume and cover the charade of a convention by the PDP. All eyes on eko bro. We've got the media and they hype. We lead others follow. Sorry the choice of lagos was strategic and purposeful. |
I have always known and said lagos wil clinch hosting the convention and not benin. Eko for show....... |
Obiagelli:No mind them fools. Won't allow them own be their own. |
Only empty heads driven by blindness and ethnic and religious bigotry will vote jonaTAN. What will he be campaigning on as a gauge of his performance after 5years of uselessness and clueless leadership. This government is running neck to neck as the most corrupt presidency we have had with the Abacha junta. Yet Abacha was better with internal security. What will the daft one say he achieved.? Oh I remember now CASSAVA BREAD. |
berem:I watch the interview of prof. Yemi Osinbajo on cable after the proceeding. Even funny that the DSS wanted to re-arrest those guys after the court demanded they be released immediately . If not for the swift manoveur of the APC lawyer they would have returned to cell again like they did with ogwuche. How can you arrest people for close to 3weeks and then start lookng for evidence against them after holding them illegally. Nigerians need viable, independent and hardworking institutions that won't be fighting over who azzlick the executive best . |
When your DSS can not crack a SERVER WITHOUT PHYSICALLY GOING TO ARREST IT'S ADMIN, then.you're in trouble, When your DSS mount surveillance in a building for 2 weeks and could not come out with an incriminating evidence but only a false flag. Then you're in trouble When your DSS ran to INTERPOL AND THE PRESS, seeking extradition for a suspect and go all the way to SUDAN to arrest the suspect and after spending 2 months in their custody, A court ruled there is no.evidence against the suspect, then you'rein trouble When your DSS loses men to OMBATSE cult group and it executive director publicly say, we leave the killers of the boys in God's hands, then you're in real soup When your DSS cannot fathom how shekau and his gang gets sponsors and bring in arms into the country years into.their assault, you're in a hell hole of a country. You're in God's hands Nigerians, cos it's clear nobody in the government or its intel agency is looking out for you. Close to 3weeks after the raid and the subsequent lock up of innocent young nigerians and yet not a single cLoned INEC PVC nor has INEC come out to say its secured server was hacked into. Kai I don't wish to be a Marilyn ogar right now. |
ZUBY77:If you feel aggrieved that the wheel of justice is grinding too slow, go to Aba and buy a homemade pistol and get justice by yourself. What brought faruk lawan and T.B. Joshua into this discuss if not that you're showing sign of senility and daftness. Is Tinubu's wife the chief justice of nigeria? Go to court and seek his conviction or alternatively go get a gun. Else forever keep your fu.c.king mouth shut. Cos I don't see what your stupid rant online will do. |
ZUBY77:Stop being a foolish ignorant troll. If you're sure he is stealing do the needful. Online ranting doesn't convict anyone. |
All these newspapers self. If it is not Fashola loses out in VP slot, na Amaechi loses out as APC zones VP slot to S/west. So far na Buhari be the presidential candidate , I am odikwa okay. Fear nigerian newspapers talking authoritatively without facts since 1914. Na always reliable source. |
patrickmuf:My brother, PDP is symnonymous with failure and hence it is easy to decipher the kind of people supporting them. They hold on to straw to keep from drowning. |
purplesummer:Let them continue living in their foolery then. Celebrating the beginning of a process as if verdict has been arrived at. |
purplesummer:Which ever the case, it is an order asking PDP to do the needful by making him appear in court not a declaration that he is no longer the speaker as being celebrated by some posters on the thread. The rest wey you talk na legal mumbo jumbo. Lolz...... |
SeverusSnape:Fair sails bro. |
purplesummer:Mandamus mean " we command " can't it be literally said that the court command PDP to summon tambuwal. Pardon my layman usage, I no go law school. |
SeverusSnape:Na, I'm no lawyer bro. I'm a mariner. Our knowledge is as broad as the waters we sail. |
Descartes:There are certain judgement that a judge will not try play political sentiments with. The constitution is clear on the modalities for defecting by a legislature, "except there is a division in the party for which he was elected in that legislative calendar" Did the constitution states only IF there is division in national body of the party? NO Can the division envisaged by the constitution be inclusive of state, zonal and constituency crisis within that party? MAYBE. The court will rule on that . Remember Tambuwal's statement when he was defecting? " based on the development within my STATE. He knew what he was saying, he is a sound lawyer. |
Descartes:An order of mandamus is a writ of summon which command an individual or entity to carry out an instruction or action. The judge gave an order to the PDP to summon tambuwal to come defend why he should still remain speaker since he has defected. It is not an EvICTiON or disqualification order from being a member of the house not to talk of him stepping down as speaker. |
barcanista:Posterity will honour them. The Borno State government is doing quite a lot for them. |
Don't know the reason for the happiness of some PDP supporters here. To serve a notice simply mean the pdp should go and inform tambuwal to come and defend himself and not an ORDER to vacate the seat. Comprehension seems a deficient quantity alien to most poster on this thread. |
barcanista:They are the ones who put their lives in the line facing up to the onslaught of BH. They are the true heroes of the war against BH with the rank and file military men who are paying the supreme sacrifice whle the ogas at the top are engulfed in corruption and blatant stealing. |
Truly a man of the people loved by all who are not driven by ethnic, religious and tribal bigotry. They should make the payment platform free of limit that an individual can pay in through foreign transfer. Kept rejecting my subsequent payments. The dream of a new Nigeria begin with you and I, buhari is just the vessel. We are solidly behind you the peoples general. |
There is no doubt the North Central will be dominated by the APC in the next election except for Plateau and Benue which seems to be dicey based on the uselessness and below par performance of Jonah Jang and suswan. The APC is at its peak and there is no better time to defeat the PDP than now all thanks to the worst performing president in Nigeria History and the state of comatose and inefficient governance it has shown in states it controls. |
dridowu:The prayer that the PDP should be making is to wish the next governor perfprms abysmally poor to enable them get some level of political leverage. Most of those defecting have been rendered useless in Lagos PDP since ogunlewe and later Bode George corner all federal appointment to their families and cronies. The likes of finnih remained in the PDP when the sarumi's, adeniji adele, sen. Tony adefuye, afikuyomi all jumped ship to the APC. But politicians strives on patronage, if all federal juicy appointment and contracts by the PDP have been hijacked by some cabal running a patrimony style of leadership and those that jumped ship to the now APC benefitting one way of the other and gaining relevance, it will be political seppuku to remain in that same PDP that Bode George has turned into his family biz in the SW. Won't blame anybody for decamping, its all politics and as you're aware, the winner takes all. |
SeverusSnape:Well it is still within the right of Darren wilson. The issue is about the bias and clear onesidedness of the state prosecutor who gave a press conference after the shooting and was attacking the person of the victim hours after he was shot dead. Imagine the same person having the sole right to present evidence and demand prosecution from a grand jury. He has consistently shown support to the policeman and hence he wasn't supposed to be given the sole right to present the case before the grand jury at least let an indepedent prosecutor review the case or have an attorney of the brown family be part of the procedure. |
Oklander:Forget Russia, just assume it is in Iran or Zimbabwe and the way they will incite and colour the story to ensure an attempt at regime change in those countries. |
SeverusSnape:He is not even charged. State Prosecutor believes he did the right thing and that's the reason for the protest and violence. |
The moral of the story, anything and everything goes if the people keep mute and remain cowardly quiet in the face of injustice and racial profiling. Nigerians let us be aware of the power of the people. Sovereignty lies solely with the people and not the police, the military or politicians. Let's demand what we want and we will see the change we desire. |
US police officer who shot teenager resigns Darren Wilson's shooting of Michael Brown sparked fury in the town of Ferguson and a new race debate in the US. The white police officer who shot black teenager Michael Brown dead has resigned, nearly four months after the confrontation that fueled protests in the US city of St Louis and across the country. Darren Wilson had been on administrative leave since the August 9 shooting. Darren Wilson's resignation has been widely anticipated. Still, it's likely that those in Ferguson who've been angered that Wilson wasn't indicted will welcome his resignation. It's almost impossible to imagine him as a police officer patrolling a community that believes he's guilty of at least the wrongful death of Michael Brown. Civil rights activists have been calling for protests to focus now on changes in Missouri state law to restrict the use of deadly force by police and to explicitly outlaw racial profiling by officers. That's what marchers are calling for as they make their way 190km from Ferguson to the state capital Jefferson city over the next week. His resignation was announced Saturday by one of his lawyers, Neil Bruntrager, the Associated Press news agency and local newspaper the St Louis Dispatch reported. Bruntrager said the resignation was effective immediately. "I, Darren Wilson, hereby resign my commission as a police officer with the City of Ferguson effective immediately," the Dispatch newspaper quoted Wison's resignation letter as saying on its website. "I have been told that my continued employment may put the residents and police officers of the City of Ferguson at risk, which is a circumstance that I cannot allow." A grand jury spent more than three months reviewing evidence in the case before this week declining to issue any charges against the 28-year-old. He told jurors that he feared for his life when Brown hit him and grabbed for his gun. The US Justice Department is still conducting a civil rights investigation into the shooting and a separate probe of police department practices. The shooting struck up a national debate about race and police power. 'Black lives matter' After the shooting, Wilson spent months in hiding and made no public statements. He broke his silence after the grand jury decision, telling ABC News that he could not have done anything differently in the encounter with Brown. Wilson said he has a clean conscience because "I know I did my job right." Brown's shooting was the first time he fired his gun on the job, he said. Asked whether the encounter would have unfolded the same way if Brown had been white, Wilson said yes. Activists from Ferguson on Saturday began a 190km march to the Missouri state capital to protest the killing. The seven-day march to Jefferson City, organised by the National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People, began with more than 150 people setting out from the Canfield Green Apartments, where 18-year-old Brown was killed. The NAACP is calling for a reform of police practices, a new police chief in Ferguson and a national law to prevent racial profiling by police. The "Journey for Justice," which is reminiscent of the civil rights marches of the 1960s, began with some people singing the decades-old protest song "We Shall Overcome." Participants carried signs proclaiming "Black Lives Matter" and "Equality Now!" http://m.aljazeera.com/story/2014112922539104644 |
The problem of the opposition in states like Lagos and Ogun is that the APC governors in both states have used their performance to silent them. It is so easy for the APC to win in Kogi, Benue, kaduna, Abia than for the PDP to smell Alausa or Oke Mosan. The morale of the story is PARTIES SHOULD LEARN TO PUT THEIR BEST MEN FORWARD. What will PDP campaign in Lagos be based on? Tinubu I guess. |
Momodu quite hit it on the head here. There are so many potential candidate in the APC in lagos and satisfying everyone will be a herculean task Thank God we have not had defection and crosscarpetting so far. The only good thing going for the APC is the overwhelming performance of fashola which has rendered the PDP useless in lagos, Fashola has made sure the PDP has nothing to campaign with in Lagos and the people of lagos love purposeful and resource minded leadership. Either way, whether sasore or ambode or GOS or ikuforiji, lagos is in such good hands. We have masterplan for up to 2045 for the way Lagos will be heading . Eko oni baje. Sai APC |
