iLegendd: Causes
1. Small RAM 2. Small RAM 3. Small RAM
Get a phone with high RAM and get it working. Don't use this as an excuse not to write a book. Use the normal finger to keyword way and write your books if dictation is proving stubborn. Actually, I don't think it is. My brother's phone has 3gb RAM. It still didn't work. |

ILegend, please I need to pick your brain a little. In one of your threads, you explained your procedure for writing. The issue I have is with using dictation to write. I discovered that I can't dictate and have screen recorder on at the same time. Same thing goes for audio recording (I can't dictate and audio record same time). I want to know how you get pass this hurdle.
Thanks for all you do for everyone of us. More ink to your pen. |

CharleyBright: Dean Koontz remains one of my best contemporary writers. I have read most of his works. The suspense of his books are enigmatic. Go read his " The Watchers" and " The Whispers", The Husband".
However, I would have expected to see Stephen King and Mario Puzo on your list. How many have you read? Do you write? |

Cocao: Dean Koontz made this list. I have loved his works since wayy back. Stephen King can make one shiver and dream bad dreams but Dean just had a way to make one feel good about horror. I agree with this list So so true. I have about 70 of his titles. Read about seven. Currently reading the 8th. |

iLegendd: Stage 2 will handle how to use those 3/4 apps. In fact, they don't even need any explanation.
Power on one of the speech to text apps, then power on your screen recorder. If your phone has enough RAM and memory space, then also power on your sound recorder (backup audio).
When all are on, go back to your speech to text app and click record. Yes, it requires internet, but if you don't want to use internet, you'll go to your settings and install an internal dictionary. This way, you can do the above without an internet connection.
Yes, your diction matters in your recording accuracy. If you pronounce things upside down or with too much accent, then this method will be frustrating at first.
Luckily, the software is adaptive — it will learn your voice. The more you use it, the more it understands your way of pronunciation.
The video recording during speech to text is just a backup in case of proofreading the typos in your main work — it's for for reference. I wish you could explain more on this. I couldn't get a hang of what you were saying. I have downloaded the apps. I only need a more extensive explanation. Thanks for what you've been doing. |

Divepen1: Yesterday , I learnt from top linguists that chat language is the future of human language. There's a whole Thesis on "Lol" and "slash" in America. In case, you find yourself suddenly being transported to the future, the first wise thing to do is to ask for the chats of a 16-year old school girl. Her lexicons will be the communication language of that era. Slash, should we be less concerned about grammar, structure. John McWhorter, through his Tedtalk, "Txting is killing language" showed how different people talked about grammar etc. It's not new. Examples: 1. English Professor in 1956 2. Connecticut Teacher 1917 3. Charles Eliit, Havard President 1871. 4. Pedant Writing in Latin, 63AD. (This new type of Latin later became French)
In other words, someone is always worried about usage of language Yet, language itself survives the evolution. Many of us don't evolve with it. I'll like to write 'am fyn wif ow ur cookn' because it means I'm billingual but as a writer I must keep at my structure. So, if you're fine with your short hands, please type away. Just watch who you use it with. Adaptability is the key here... Well articulated, my sir! |

OfficialVpOsinb: Does anyone know how to plant watermelon?
I want to grow them to feed my snail, seems the juveniles especially love it.
I've planted twice now (of course in my trademark experimental style) and on both occasions they withered about a week after germination.
I don't know if I'm not planting them deep enough; the first set died after 5 days or so and the second set which I dug deeper holes for lived for maybe another four days.
I've planted a new set today and I made the holes almost 7-inches deep. What became of your snail pen? |
