When we pray, we may not see how God is working or understand how He will bring good through it all. So we have to trust Him. We relinquish our rights and let God do what is best. When we bend our knees to pray, God bends His ears to listen. Grace, mercy and peace to you. Good morning and happy Sunday. |

THE PDP LEADERSHIP SURRENDERED OSUN When it came to crunch time, the PDP let Adeleke down. He must have felt like an orphan Almost everyone knew Omisore would be vital. You can ask the US embassy. The PDP sent no one. Saraki went with Okupe who is just coming out of retirement. Saraki's entourage had looked rich until the APC visited Omisore. The APC showed desperation. And put its birthright on the line. The party chairman was there. 6 governors went with him. They must have seen the chickens offered at that shrine by the PDP. And they must have offered cows. Even if Omisore were a pastor. The PDP chairman was in Wike's boyquarters in Port Harcourt. Wike himself was not interested. He is peering down his political microscope looking for the most painful ways to deal with the party if they mess with him. Okowa didnt show up. Fayose was working out his exit route. Even that refugee , the governor of Kwara, didn't show up. They left it to Davido and his uncle. The APC meticulously took back Lasun whose intimidating influence in Orolu LGA was proved last week. While the APC patched up its net, the PDP ran helter skelter, from pillar to post and then to court. It was injury time. Even Fani Kayode who is from Ife was nowhere to be seen. He must have been in Abuja. From there he was calling Omisore. And must have warned him not to join hands with the Fulani jihadists! He saw no need to lend a helping hand in knocking at doors for Adeleke. But he will take to twitter today and let out emotions. Where was Ben Bruce? Where was his love for the party? He was tweeting it from Abuja while Ganduje was sleeping in Ile Ife. We can forgive Dino Melaye. He is not sure of his own ticket yet. But where were Gbenga Daniel and Atiku? Atiku was needed in Orolu! These social media noises cant help anyone. The leaders of the PDP failed Adeleke. And they failed him big time. But you know what ? They will blame it on Buhari. BREAKING NEWS: AMBODE GUBER RE-ELECTION BID SUFFERS A SET BACK: NEW NAME EMMERGES AS TINUBU, RAUF AREGBESOLA MOVE TO STOP AMBODE SECOND TERM The fate of the Lagos state Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode in picking the All Progressive Congress’ ticket to bid for a final term as the Lagos state’s governor is at the moment not getting receptive signals from major stake holders in the state especially, his major sponsor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Alimosho Lagos based outgoing Governor of the state of Osun, Engr. Rauf Aregbesola. Signs that the Lagos State Governor, Ambode could have challenges securing his party’s ticket for a second term manifested at the early stage of his current tenure, though with no significant notice. According to knowledgeable sources within the Lagos APC, Ambode drew the anger of his sponsor, Asiwaju Tinubu, when, at the beginning of his term, he immediately set out to establish his political structure, not minding the existence of the Asiwaju Tinubu’s structure that installed him as governor of the state. “In fairness to Ambode, he tried to code the move, but the fact that he used a very close family member in building the structure gave him away and his mentor got the signal” narrated a source. Rauf Aregbesola The Page was further told that, even though Asiwaju appeared indifferent when he heard about efforts being made by ‘his creation’ to establish an independent structure, his body language was said to have given him away at the peak of the Ambode’s refuse challenge in the Lagos metropolis after he dismantled the Tinubu erected Private Sector Partnership (PSP) structure. According to multiple sources within the party, there was a serious complaint against the Governor before Asiwaju, when the Ambode led government decided to upturn what a source described as the ‘ inherited working and effective refuse collection ‘ system in the state. “ Dont forget that the refuse collecting system operational in the state before now was introduced by Tinubu when he was governor of the state. And its been a very good way of patronising many party members in the state “ a source obliged. ThePage was reliably informed that about 45,000 residents in the state were directly surviving on the scrapped PSP project out of which about 25,000 were direct operators hired from the party while the remaining were people engaged by the direct operators. The demolition of the local system for the engagement of a new contractor , Vissionscape was viewed by Asiwaju as an affront, especially because, he as the initiator of the original operation, was not carried along before it was axed. Events that unfolded afterwards, regarding the scrapping of the PSP project gave Asiwaju reasons to condemn Ambode before party leaders who sought his intervention in ensuring a cleaner Lagos, even as he was said to have immediately commenced the process of a search for another candidate to replace Ambode and thus preventing him from serving a second term in office. As a source narrated to The Page : when it became obvious that the governor was losing the battle against refuse in the state, some leaders in the party lobbied Asiwaju to intervene and impressed it on him to facilitate the reinstatement of the PSP operation , but he (Tinubu) refused, and quoted to have insisted that he will rather allow him ( governor) carry out his heart desires regarding the issue in question. The Page reliably gathered that whatever animosity Tinubu may have against his political son , which many believed would be resolved at the appropriate time, was fuelled further, by the outgoing governor of the State of Osun, Rauf Aregbesola, who sources revealed has done more than enough to discourage Asiwaju from encouraging a second term ticket for his Lagos state counterpart. Reliable sources mentioned that Ambode incured the wrath of the Osun governor when he ( Ambode) refused to be part of the scheme to return Aregbesola to the mainstream Lagos politics by not supporting his desire to return as Senator representing Lagos West after his terms next month, as the Osun State Governor for 8 years. The page gathered that Aregbesola who was Commissioner for Works in Lagos for over 8 years before becoming Osun state governor was interested in getting the ticket to contest the Lagos West Senatorial election under the APC, but, sought the support of Governor Ambode, whom sources hinted, told him point blank, that he could not support such a radical move . Ambode’s stance on the issue, it was gathered, was further emboldened by Asiwaju’s rejection of same. It was gathered however, that Aregbesola had planned to use the expected support from Ambode to persuade Asiwaju to change his mind, but when he met a brick-wall with Ambode, he became an instant part of the plot to stop the Lagos governor’s second term bid. If supporters of the Lagos State Governor were in doubt before now, that there were plots against the second term aspiration of the governor, news of the introduction of using the Direct Primaries system to determine who gets the ticket to contest the APC governorship ticket for the next election has cleared the doubts. According to sources, Asiwaju is only capitalising on the adoption of the same direct primaries system by the new leadership in the national APC to stop Ambode because it suits his plans. Bola Tinubu Even though Asiwaju Tinubu, while announcing to party members in Lagos penultimate week , of decision to use the direct primaries to decide who gets the party tickets in the next elections in the state , he hinged his decision on the need to follow party directive and make party members determine who gets their ticket as against the use of delegates. While The Page sources said it was only convenient for Asiwaju to rely on the alibi. It was gathered that Asiwaju had envisaged the difficulty he will encounter in buying the state’s delegates to reject Ambode at the primary election. “ Asiwaju realised on time, the futility of giving delegates money to stop Ambode, because of the abundance revenue at the disposal of the governor. “ Ambode can afford to splash tripple of whatever Asiwaju would offer the delegates, hence his decision to hide under the ‘ obeying party resolution’ alibi, to edge Ambode out of the way for a new choice to emerge as Lagos state governor” a dependable source mentioned. Giving Asiwaju more convenient alibi to dump Ambode, ThePage further gathered, was the clamour before now, by some party members among them, an influential politician from Ambode’s consistency in Epe, all of who successfully prevailed on Asiwaju to discourage the use of party delegates to determine who gets the ticket to flag the party’s flag in all the coming elections in the state which the guber is a part. The name of the former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Hon. Adeyemi IKuforiji featured prominently among the names of aspirants who lobbied Asiwaju to take the direct primaries option decision. The interest of IKuforiji, The Page has learnt, may not be unconnected with the plan to resuscitate the initial Asiwaju approved interest in him becoming the state’s governor before it was forced to be jettisoned by circumstances about 4 years ago. Keen political watchers in the state believe that replacing Ambode with IKuforiji wont attract much noise especially because IKuforiji is observed to be an all round politician, loyal to the political staus quo and closer to politicians in the state. Above all, he is from the same Epe constituency with the outgoing governor of the state, hence, the permutation that the people of the constituency won’t feel any sense of loss should the ticket taken away from Governor Ambode. |

ADELABU BAYO IN SHOCK AS HUNDREDS GATHER TO ASK HIM TO RUN FOR OYO GOVERNOR he was nearly mobbed by hundreds of supporters who came from all the corners of oyo state and were convened by grassroots mobilizer, . They all spoke in concordance as they urged the charismatic leader to run for Governor2019 As we all know, Bayo Adelabu whose political profile has grown in leaps and bounds in the last 12 months and whose popularity and acceptability cuts across OYO and Nigeria didn’t give an immediate response to his well wishers but there was no gainsaying the fact that he was pleasantly surprised. WHAT I WILL FALICITATE WHEN I BECOME MEMBER OF OSUN STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY THRU...MY INCOMING GOVERNOR...HON FEMI KEHINDE... 1. Two major roads in Ilesa township : Breweries/Express to roundabout to Ayeso & African Grammar School to Isokun to roundabout to Irojo/Express, will be dualised, with a state of the art interchange at the roundabout. 2. There will be water everywhere, from Iwaraja to Ilaje, from Omi-Eran to Irojo, from Iloo/ijebujesa to Bolorunduro/Aralopon, pipe-borne water will be flowing, as Ilesa water supply would be completed and commissioned. 3. The College of Education Ilesa, facilitated some forty years ago by Prof mrs Bolanle Awe, will be upgraded to a University 4. The 55-year old Atakumosa market will be rebuilt and modernised into a Dubai-type international market, with Sabo, also to be rebuilt, by 'investors', as its annexe. 5. Despite a thinly-paved first 3kms, the 34km Ilesa-EtiOni road in Ijesaland, is most probably the worst inter-state road in Osun State. The design was done almost ten years ago. The construction will go to that giant,a good construction company, and to be completed within 90 days ! 6 Undoubtedly, a leading contender for the position of the worst road within the old Ilesa metropolis, is the 1.5km Ikoti P- line, commencing from Apoeso/Ikoyi Apostolic church junction to Balogun's family house, to Ambassador Otunla's house to Isokun junction. The road will be rehabilitated with 200mm asphalt overlay and reinforced concrete drainages on both sides. 7 I will facilitate the upgrade of Erin ijesa water fall into a world class tourist centre. The task now is for all of you at home and abroad, and indeed everywhere, to pray fervently for these wonders to happen. Step1.. And that's why I want to serve you....I am indeed your right servant.send me.... New osun loading.... Vote wisely...... Choose wisely....... Olusegun Jeje. Osun House of Assembly..... 2019. It is with immense sadness that the Annan family and the Kofi Annan Foundation announce that Kofi Annan, former Secretary General of the United Nations and Nobel Peace Laureate, passed away peacefully on Saturday 18th August after a short illness. His wife Nane and their children Ama, Kojo and Nina were by his side during his last days. Kofi Annan was a global statesman and a deeply committed internationalist who fought throughout his life for a fairer and more peaceful world. During his distinguished career and leadership of the United Nations he was an ardent champion of peace, sustainable development, human rights and the rule of law. After stepping down from the United Nations, he continued to work tirelessly in the cause of peace through his chairmanship of the Kofi Annan Foundation and as chair of The Elders, the group founded by Nelson Mandela. He was an inspiration to young and old alike. Kofi Annan was a son of Ghana and felt a special responsibility towards Africa. He was particularly committed to African development and deeply engaged in many initiatives, including his chairmanship of the Africa Progress Panel and his early leadership of the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA). Wherever there was suffering or need, he reached out and touched many people with his deep compassion and empathy. He selflessly placed others first, radiating genuine kindness, warmth and brilliance in all he did. He will be greatly missed by so many around the world, as well as his staff at the Foundation and his many former colleagues in the United Nations system. He will remain in our hearts forever. The family kindly requests privacy at this time of mourning. Arrangements to celebrate his remarkable life will be announced later.

Your testimony shall last forever, Power to survive every storm of life shall rest upon you and the name of the Lord shall be glorified in your life. Good morning. |
