Fifth, I won't downplay Navas performances at Madrid but it's crystal clear that Madrid is a well-oiled machine in the UCL, hence their back-to-back success.

You're free to downplay De Gea's stance as No1 but even Madrid have been on United's neck for him since despite having Navas as their goalie.

First- Yeah other goalies exited before him but unlike De Gea they can point to better continental and world success. It would be hard to rate De Gea above them this world cup.

Second- see first.

Third- Bundesliga is a top league just like EPL monopoly or not. UCl and WC are top competitions Neur has performed in both.

Fourth- The poor form of others like Chelsea, Spurs etc comes first among reasons why United finished second.

Fifth- Navas is one of the well-oiled parts so deserves his place.
Madrid chasing De Gea is mainly a case of 'Not knowing what you have' and a crazy urge to spend money.

Position of a Gk is a risky one you are measured by the the calibre of errors you make and crucial saves made. Iran and Iceland goalies did well pity they didn't make it past the group stages.

A fit Neur is better than 3 De Gea. We have seen him in WC, UCl and the Bundelisga.
