Politics › No More Old Brigade Politicians’ – Christian Leaders Reject Buhari’s Second Term by Paperwhite(op): 10:17pm On Apr 06, 2018
A religious group, United Christian Leaders’ Eagle Eye Forum (UCLEEF) has rejected calls in some quarters, especially from the Governors of the All Progressives Congress (APC), asking President Muhammadu Buhari to run for a second term.

The group through its National Chairman, Pastor Aminchi Habu, during a press conference/inauguration of its Advisory Board in Abuja, said the APC led-government had failed Nigerians going by its inability to solve the security challenges, youth unemployment issue, stabilize the economy and reduce poverty in the country.

According to him, it was time for northern leaders and their counterparts in the south to unite and present a formidable candidate that will take over from the present government.

“We are calling on prominent Nigerians like Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd), Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (rtd), Gen. Abdusalami Abubarkar (rtd), and Gen. Aliyu Gusau (rtd), to team up and work together towards presenting a formidable candidate who will be accepted by all Nigerians in the 2019 Presidential Election.

“Prof. Jerry Gana, Sen. Ibrahim Mantu, Gen. Theophilous Danjuma (rtd); Emir of Zazzua, Dr Shehu Idris; the Northern Elders Forum (NEF); the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF); leaders of Northern Youths Organizations and other prominent Nigerians are not left out in this call,” Habu said.

He urged the youths to actively participate in the political process by obtaining their PVCs so as to wrestle power from the “old brigade politicians” who have ran out of ideas.

“Just like PDP failed Nigerians before the 2015 election, APC as a party has also failed Nigerians ahead of 2019 election.

“All we see within the ruling party is disunity, and the party is good at blaming PDP for their incompetence to bring solution to Nigeria’s problem.

“And it is also a shame that the party members are fighting themselves in almost all the states of the country.

“If they can’t coordinate themselves, then, how can they coordinate Nigeria; so, on this point, I am saying that PDP and APC have failed Nigeria and we can’t allow them to rule us again.

“In 2015, Nigerians where looking for a saviour to bring them out of hardship, and APC promised us a bright future under the change mantra if elected; the result is what is at hand."

Politics › 2019: People Getting Desperate – Presidency Raises Alarm by Paperwhite(op): 10:06pm On Apr 06, 2018
The Presidency has called on respectable clergy across the country to support Nigeria, especially as the country prepares for its forthcoming general elections.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, said this on Friday in Abuja while receiving pastors of the Gospel Faith Mission International led by the Deputy General Overseer of the Mission, Pastor Emmanuel Oluwayemi.

In a statement from the Presidency, he called on religious leaders in the country to continue to pray for the unity, peace and prosperity of the nation.

“As we approach the election year, please continue to pray that all will be well with our country. People are getting desperate to ensure that their desires, often ill-motivated, are actualized; but by the prayers of spiritual fathers like you, it will be well with the country,” Adesina said.

He added that God is the ultimate solution to all challenges and that no man has the solution to happenings around him.

The presidential aide commended the Mission for its choice to offer spiritual support to the government and reiterated that President Muhammadu Buhari is not a religious bigot and can never be one.

Earlier, Pastor Oluwayemi told the Adesina that the church and the nation have a lot to do together, especially at this time when there is tension in the land.

He explained that the role of the church was to advise and pray for leaders of the country as commanded by God in the scriptures.

The Deputy General Overseer also acknowledged their role as co-builders in Nigeria to ensure that there is fairness and justice in the nation, noting that the Mission would continue to provide backup support for the government rather than heat up the polity.

He also prayed that God’s hands would continue to be on the President Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and other elected people in the country.

So APC governors of course are the so called delusional people that're happy for a super failure like them to continue. The down trodden people will speak via the ballot when due.
You're not willing to take him to court over his gross failure as a president but ready to do so over a shithole reason? Just imagine angry

Politics › Ganduje: "We Will Drag Buhari To Court If He Refuses To Seek Reelection" by Paperwhite(op): 9:28pm On Apr 06, 2018
Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has said the State will drag President Mohammadu Buhari to court if he refuse to contest for a second term in 2019.

The governor said this during an interactive session with selected journalists in Abuja, saying the the State has concluded plans to drag President Buhari to court if he fails to seek reelection for a second term.

“APC governors want Mr. President to continue. I am happy that it is not the president that said he wants to continue, it is the people that are saying continue but Mr. President has not made up his mind yet” he said.

“When he came to Kano, I told him that any time he decides not to contest we will take him to court, Kano state government will take him to court any time he decides not to contest. So we are waiting for him”.

In this country we saw presidents who spent billions of Naira for third term, so what is the ruse about a constitutional second term. Some people who spent billions of Naira in order to go for third term, I think it should not be news or something like that.”

What about your Vice President who took Obasanjo to court over restructuring of local governments when he was the Attorney General of Lagos State? He now got to Aso Rock and said there is nothing like restructuring.
That is a professor of law and a pastor for that matter. With all the killings in Southern Kaduna under his nose, with all the atrocities going on, the Vice President has the gut to insult the nation that there is no nepotism in Buhari’s administration.

That is how horrible APC can twist the sound sense of reasoning/judgement of reasonable people.

Politics › Re: Hausa Are The Most Marginalized Nigerians- By Farouk Martins Aresa by Paperwhite(m): 10:06pm On Apr 05, 2018
Ironically, Gowon from the Middle Belt is not even an a Fulani or an Hausa but like General Banbangida and those without Fulani blood like Gen. Abacha and Abubakar that led after him, they had to preserve the legacy of Fulani blood in their appointments. While Southerners decried the lack of Federal Character in appointments, Northerners did not care since they have to answer to established norm prevailing after the Hausa lost their City States to Dan Fodio.

One would expect the Hausa to be better off than the rest of the ethnic groups in the North or South but not even the Federal Character could save them from Fulani religious hierarchy. The amount of funds supporting Federal Character individually deprived most communities of basic infrastructure. They end up as talikawa and some as beggars all over the Country.

Politics › Re: How ‘notorious Cabals In Presidency’ Have Turned NHIS Into ATM – PDP by Paperwhite(m): 9:43pm On Apr 05, 2018
This administration is so brazen in stealing in the NHIS that the Presidency has to recall and reinstate the indicted.Executive Secretary of the Scheme, Prof. Usman Yakubu, while he was still being quizzed by the EFCC for alleged corruption.

“Betraying its complicity in the NHIS racket, the Presidency has refused to speak out on allegations that it reinstated the suspended Executive Secretary to conceal the earlier looting and protect members of the cabal and has also refused to order any form of investigation in the exposed frauds.

This is another scandal of monumental proportion associated with the utterly corrupt APC regime. So shameful that the minister of health-Prof.Adewole have not deemed it for to resign after the Buhari's government reinstated the indicted NHIS sec. undecided
