lawland: ... That's great for you Surveyor... I booked the material from British council for just 4k but mind you that only the Listening and speaking test sample from the disk was helpful.. My cousin provided me with a sample from Australia.. It was extremely helpful for the writing and reading practice.
@lawland I'm also thinking of writing IELTS next month and want to start practising asap...Pls I'd really appreciate it if u can give me a copy of the study materials you used for your exam cos that ur score is solid smiley . I just sent you a PM. God bless

@Chrigo I'm also an ex ladokite...CVE dept. Also applied for my transcript and paid the necessary fees(underG) but this ASUU strike is fucking it all up cos my dept exam officer who is to print my results is also affected...i don't even know the present status and just pray they call off the strike pretty soon cos the admission portal for nxt year september resumption would soon be open. The shortlisted schools are Usask, Regina, Manitoba and SFU....would be going for M.Eng cos i guess its less competitive and just hope one clicks...Lets connect via email or messenger in order to communicate better. Bless Up

FastTracker: Hello papy4real,

Thank you for taking the time to visit! Indeed, I am unable to help you with admissions as I know the registers office sad You could also try Carleton University in Ottawa. If you need any help in respects to visa application status or just general information about Canada....I am always happy to help!
Okay then...once considered Carleton and gone through their Graduate studies site but changed my mind cos of their tuition (aint friendly for my pocket smiley) and Ottawa's cost of living is on the high side compared to other places in Canada.

GboyegaD: I think one of the challenges you are facing is your mindset and perhaps, you are not doing some things rightly. Package your application well and I can assure you that one of those 4 would at least consider you. Nonetheless, you could also apply to some other schools.
Thanks for your response bro...i would really appreciate it if u can enlighten me or render assistance on the step by step procedure and necessary things to be done in order to ensure my application is well packaged. I have applied for my transcript from my Uni but its kinda slow (naija factor). Would try to fast track it through settlement means smiley and hope i get it soonest. Regards

papy4real: Hi,
I've been following this thread for a while and have seen the stress this Canadian University put people through especially when it comes to admission into their M.sc programs. I have a B.Tech in Civil Engineering with a Second Class upper Cgpa of 3.52 out of 5. I intend to go for my M.sc/ M.Eng in either Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering but most of the schools i selected on moderate Tuition basis seems to be very hard in terms of Candidate selection e.g Usask, Manitoba, Alberta & Calgary. Please can anyone suggest Universities that can consider me for admission because i'm already thinking of applying for PGD (2 yrs duration) in Usask cos i don't think their PGD competitive. Thanks
Please can anyone advise me regarding this?? smiley
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by papy4real: 10:47am On Jun 10, 2013
adonisvg: @papy4real I checkd usask....and it says requirement for students from nigeria is 2nd class upper division, u r qualified....mayb u didn't check well
I understand bro...The minimum M.sc requirement for all schools in Canada is Second class upper but it doesn't mean you would be admitted because of the competition. I have someone that applied with a 3.81 Cgpa and was still rejected by Usask because they receive hundreds or applications from different countries(especially India and Pakistan) for just about 40 spaces. That is the main reason why i said i'm thinking of going for PGD or would prefer any other school with lower competition.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by papy4real: 10:19am On Jun 10, 2013
adonisvg: . Bro, I thnk its 2.1 nt just 1st class...try windsor.....ryerson doesn't gve admission into evt eng for international students
I know bro but they kinda prefer it when the cgpa is above 4.0 maybe due to the competition...thinking of trying University or Regina or MUN cos Windsor is kinda expensive bro.

@jenny, Really appreciate your response...The preferred Tafe course i saw in relation to mining is a 2 yr diploma in Surveying and the tuition cost is about 13k per annum. The main reason why i made up my mind to go for Tafe is mainly because its affordable compared to the 22K for M.sc. I can afford the 1 yr Tafe tuition fee including my living expenses for a year but i'd want to know if its possible to meet up with my 2nd yr Tuition & expenses by working while studying during my first year. Secondly, i'd also want to know if there is any agent you can recommend to help with my visa application and is it possible for me to use my Uncle's bank statement (Maternal) for my application even though we don't bear the same Surname.
TravelRe: General Australian Visa Enquiries by papy4real: 10:59pm On Feb 12, 2013
Hi Jennykadry, I've been following this thread for a while and i'm ready impressed with your quick responses. I just completed my 1st degree in Civil Engineering B.Tech with a 3.52/5.0 second class upper...I would really love to study in Australia and my preferred M.sc courses are Mining Engineering or Geoscience (To boost my PR chances)but the Msc Tuition i've been seeing is just too high (least i saw was 21k) and my budget is not more than 12-13k max. What do you think i can do because i'm already thinking of enrolling for a 2 year Tafe diploma course(like around 12k per annum) since its cheaper and then maybe proceed with the M.sc after completing the diploma course and getting a job placement. Your advice would be appreciated. Regards.

How long and how much would it cost me to respray my 2005 Toyota Matrix because i don't reside in Lagos and will just have to bring it down . The colour is Silver which i don't intend to change and it has little or no body work to be done on it. I i'm only respraying it cos i want it to look cleaner and sweeter, lolz. I will be expecting your response.
