What exactly have they benefited from paying those taxes ? Do they have good roads ? Better health care ? Understand that thenissue is not paying tax that people are against . Point of correction . Nigerians will gladly pay taxes if they will see the money work in their favour . They will even do more for a fiacally responsible government . But we all know it will stolen or siphoned . The money we have made from oil what have we done with it ? The money given to governors since subsidy was removed what have they done with it ? Why will I power my house , pay vigilantes , pray to God for help during emergencies, public schools are worse than some public toilets , drill boreholes because no potable water , contribute for transformers , repair roads etc yet government wants to take more from me ? If i pay and I have security , water board is constant , good roads that i dont get to repair my car every other day , good public schools that my kids dont have to go to expensive private schools , good health care , it means my unneccesary expenses have greatly reduced and I will gladly pay taxes so my government can continue to provide or create enabling environment for me to continue to enjoy those things without worrying .

Lets break it down. The average labour on a construction site earns 5k per day . Lets say he works for 27 days a month that is 135k per month . That is 1,620,000 per year . That means 820k is taxable income . Please tell me if laborers look like people who should be taxed in this country ? Are they not one of the poorest in the country ? Laborers dont even have bikes . A decent meal on their level is 2k . Meaning more than 30 percent has gone on a meal .
This tax is oppressive . And they will useless the money they collect anyhow . Just watch . Like they will suddenly become accountable .

The Yorubas says the sky is big enough to for birds to fly without touching one another . Apparently man made birds no get memo.

According to what I read, our law accomodate self defence.
The article states for self defence to be upheld, the FF criteria must be met
1. The appellant must not be the initiator of the attack.
2. The appellant must be in imminent danger
3. He has no way to escape the danger.
4. Unless he inflicts the fatal blow there's no way he can come out of it alive- there must be a necessity for taking life.

I think Jackson's case fulfilled 1 and 2. He was attacked unprovoked and was actually stabbed twice by the assailant.
Jackson was stabbed in the leg, thus his chances of escape has been compromised. How else did the judge expect him to run when he was already injured in the legs?

Fulani don't give up, this was confirmed in this case when the Fulani carried a stick when he lost his dagger during the fight. The Fulani man was still armed. Chairman , I am not . Our laws need to be expanded to accommodate self defense. It is very rigid about murder. Ask your lawyer . The Supreme Court justices hands were tied . You think it is normal for the man to be convicted at the highcourt and his sentence was upheld by the appeal and supreme courts . They interpreted the law correctly . The issue is with the law on self defense.

No. Our laws need to be ammended . The Supreme Court interpreted it as it is . The young man made a mistake of putting it in his statement that he collected the knife then proceeded to stab him. The law says at that point he had the advantage and when he stabbed the guy he committed murder .

Now the lesson here is if you are ever in that situation, just say during the struggle you really don't know how the attacker got stabbed. Never admit to any decisive action because it might be used against you .
