Today happens to be a terrible day in my life. I am inclined to share, instead of bottling it up. Come to think of it, I was all joyous and was feeling like the luckiest man alive yesterday. I secured two job interviews: one for a sales associate and the other for a 100% remote job that pays $300 a month. Everything seemed to be going well.

Fast forward to today...

I currently work as a field officer for a small company. My work duties involve going to agent locations to drive sales, and I make use of GPS video location to show the company that I truly make my visitations. Working on Saturday, I rushed back home for the interview I believed was scheduled for 10 am. After setting things up at exactly 9:50 am to join the Google Meet, I made the greatest mistake of assumption. The interview was scheduled for 9:40 am, and I missed it. No one would accept my invitation.

I rushed back to my current work to visit my route plan for the day. The first agent I visited was not around. Upon making the video of the agent location using the GPS Video camera, two thugs noticed me and accosted me aggressively. They became physical with me and wouldn't listen to any of my appeals that I was only doing my job. They demanded why I was videotaping them, collected my phone forcefully, and upon seeing the GPS video camera app, they became more aggressive and hit me with a stone on my head. I was bleeding a lot, which made them leave me alone. I was rushed to a clinic where my head wound was stitched up. I called the management, and they responded promptly. They paid for my hospital bills.

The second interview was scheduled for 2:30 pm. I already made through the assessment so I'm confident about my chances. I needed to be home, and I got home from the clinic way ahead of time. Since it's a remote job, the hr requested I could only join with a webcam through my laptop or desktop. I had everything set up since 2:00 pm. Three minutes to 2:30 pm, I joined with the link again, and my laptop webcam wouldn't open again. I decided to restart my laptop. I rejoined exactly back at 2:33 pm, and as usual, no one was available anymore to accept my request to join.

It's really a sad day. I have cried my eyes out. I thought I had eventually gotten a well-deserved break from things being hard for me yesterday, only to find out today I'm still stuck in hardshipwith no hope in sight.

I'm in physical pain and also in emotional pain. It's not easy, honestly, and what hurts more is that I have no control. Just powerless. Why am I sharing this? I feel alone.

Things are not well.

I'm in Osogbo and I need to get this exact Suzuki Everyday MiniBus Brain Box. Pictures attached pls. It has to be the same serial number. It was prices 20k here in Osogbo I expect it to be less or equal. I'll pay for the waybill to Osogbo likewise.

@ OP, I think, like your moniker, you are getting paranoid and you allowed things to spiral out of your control.
Even if you quit tonight,I guarantee you that the school will still continue. You handle children and you can do better with your emotion.
Next time, instead of repeating your negative "I reject it", you can politely request for a meeting where you can ask for the extra tasks you may have to undertake and if there is monetary compensation that comes with it.

If you are a committed teacher, you will take that opportunity and prove that you are competent.
I will not encourage you to listen to anyone making you feel that your pay is horrible, it is money earned legitimately which comes with its own blessings. It does not give you the opportunity to disrespect your employer.
Like I always tell my people, the way you exit an organization is even more important than how you joined the organization.Things are changing and you will be shocked that if you leave in a disrespectful and unprofessional manner,it could later cost you in the future

You need to be calming down and if there are serious issues on your mind, seek help on them. These your reasons are not a big deal. Take up the extra task and help those young fellas if you are truly a teacher(Guru as Indians affectionately regard teachers).
As time goes on, more opportunities will come your way, if you struggle to always go or do extra, you will be regarded as mediocre,especially in highly competivie high paying environment.

Thank you very much. One of the reason I posted it, to wonder if I'm on the right or just overthinking the issue. I can stay but I won't take up the extra work. I really appreciate your input and I see things from another point of view. I mean it, your words had an impact and I'm grateful for that.

You might be right. The fact remains it affected me.

It actually a not so funny story.

So I worked at a private school 8am - 2pm for a pay of 17k monthly. I was employed to work as an Agric and Economics teacher. Payment is always prompt and I'm never owed a salary. Few weeks after I resumed, a teacher left and her subjects was distributed to other teachers. Hence, I am taking 3 subjects now. The teacher that left was also a class teacher of JSS1.

Fast forward to today, after exams where the class teacher will be collating scores, I was told I will henceforth be the class teacher of Jss1 which I outrightly reject. The proprietor was called upon and to quote him, he said ' Authoritatively I'm making you the class of JSS1" and I replied that I reject it.

I got home angrily and hungrily, I put a cup of rice on fire and I called a colleague of mine on whatsapp and was discussing the issue with her. I got carried away and the pot of rice was extremely burnt.

In the bid to remove the pot from fire, not thinking straight, I took the 'new school sport wear' (a cloth we were forced to buy for 6k and the money will be deducted from our salary) that I left hanging in the dining room, outside minded I use the cloth to carry the hot burnt pot of rice.

The result has being attached.

I'm walking to the man tomorrow to terminate my appointment immediately and pay me my remaining salary!

Well as a first aid, I've gotten malaria drug from a local store which we run for 3 days and practicing isolation to the best I can, if after the 3 days which is tomorrow, it still persists, I will then choose whether to call ncdc or go for genuine agbo

I don't feel sick. Tracing myself back, have had catarrh for the past 3 days now. No coughing(sneezing) , no sore throat but I have a blocked nose and I had to use inhaler to make myself better.

I don't know if it's related but to be real, I'm grateful I still have my taste. Not having a sense of smell still seems funny to me. Like everything just became odorless.

Don't take heart to what people say and don't fret.

For people that have it.

I don't know when it started but I can say I noticed this afternoon.

It's all happened after dressing up and I went ahead to use my roll on and my perfume.

On my way out, I noticed I wasn't smelling my element perfume scent. I went back in and I started spraying the perfume all over, this time, I was conscious and I was certain I wasn't smelling anything. I concluded the perfume was expired even though I just bought it.

I called my brother and I narrated how a perfume could loose it's smell after getting expired. I sprayed it on his hands and he said he could smell it. It was starting to get scary. I sprayed it directly to my noise this time, no smell no allergic reaction.

I started trying to smell everything in the house, pot of stew, meat, fish everything and nothing!!

I feel like the only function my nose has is to breathe. I call some people and I was assured it will be temporary. I'm scared, I'm just 26. Have never experienced it before and it's scary.

I need advice and the next step to take. I'm thinking of going to the clinic tomorrow and speak with a doctor but before then I want to know what to expect.

Physiological I want to be ready too, so If theirs any advantage of not having a sense of smell too, please tell me.
