I watched Quincy as she raided her wardrobe of what to wear for Edwin's visit. I don't get why she' getting all worked up. I mean its not like they haven't met before, they have..countless times. I don't see the need for a lady to raid her closet just because she wants to look attractive for a guy, that doesn't mean you have to look unkept, no. I feel yo should just be yourself and if he loves you for it, good. If he doesn't, still good.
"Aren't you gonna help me?!" She screamed throwing clothes at me.
I giggled "Nooo but I know what I can do" I say, winking at her.
"Make me up?" She asked anxiously.
" yeah but not now. I'm gonna get something to eat and.." I got up walking to the kitchen.
" I had a weird night at work. Luke called me into his office to ask if I was alright. Urhk! I don't know what his plans are, but I ain't falling for it. He said to come over with Edwin today." I said loudly from the kitchen. Made a cereal and got back into the room.
"Did you even hear me?" I asked with a spoonful of cereal in my mouth.
"Yeah, yeah.. Listen, Gabby" she turned to look at me, hands folded.
"He just wants to know you. Hang out with you, become your friend. That's all, Okay?" She said calmly and slowly.
"Whatever.. I don't need any more friends. One's a company, two's a Party. " I replied with a smile.
After turning her room into a total disaster, she gav up and chose to wear her skinny jeans with a tank top. I made her up as promised.
We ate breakfast together then decided to watch TV till the visitors arrived.
"Did I tell you I had a fight with Travis and we brok up?" I broke the silence.
Her eyes went agape. "Travis, Elvis. If you ask me, they're similar and weren't good for you honey.. I'm really sorry bout that. Oh you poor thing. Two break ups in a month. Sheesh" she gave me a tight hug before we heard the doorbell ring.
"Its them!! Quick! Go take a shower. What were yo thinking not taking a shower till now" she said pushing me away.
I ran to the bathroom. I think she just transferred her virus to me, I quickly showered. Found a T-shirt and a trouser, applied just a lip balm, put my hair in a messy bun(while still a little wet) then got to the living room to see Luke. Just Luke? What the hell now?
"Hi, uhm where's Quinn and Edwin? I asked with a fake smile.
" Quinn said she needed to get lady things and begged Edwin to take her. Seemed to me like she just wanted to leave so bad" He said while watching the TV.
That girl...she purposely left us here. Alone! I tried to hide my anger so bad I felt myself getting hot.
"Oh, okay. Well, you're welcome. Do you want something to drink? Water, Orange juice? Alcohol.. Though its past 1." I said walking into the kitchen.
"Water's fine." He said and I nod.
"So, mind telling me a little about yourself? He said with a smile.
" Well.. My name, Gabrielle Salvador. I'm twenty. I' half Puerto Rican. Nothing much really. " I responded offering him a cup of water.
I don't really know what to say when I'm asked about myself. There's nothing much to say, really. I remember when mom used to tell me, if any guy asks you who you are Gabby, tell them you are 'not interested' and walk away..If he's serious, he'll come meet your papa if not, baby let him go..you're a jewel. My Jewel. Don't let any one in until you truly, I repeat truly love hi m.
I smile at my thoughts and look up to find him staring at me.
"What? It is my world." I laugh.
"Yes, indeed it is". He smiled.
Luke's Prov:
She was beautiful, her laugh, the way she presented herself. Everything. She was just perfect. But I feel bothered though. Why work as a Janitor? She seemed bright. Why that choice?
" uhm.. I'm sorry to repeat my question but, why do you choose to work as a janitor? " I ask, after studying that her mood was calm.
She sighed " I told you, its private. And I don't really know who you are." She said pushing her hair behind her ear.
"I understand. I'm honestly sorry, I didn't mean to pry. Well, I'm Luke Levington. L.L as called by my friends sometimes. I've been friends with Quinn for a long time now but haven't seen you around. Why so?" I ask again.
"Actually I'm always busy..with work, family issues, relationships... Life. I did visit though but not very often then. Now I'm totally free. " she said and I noticed she bit her lips like she shouldn't have said all that.
I laughed causing her to smile.
I like it whenever I'm around her. I feel free and calm. There was an awkward silence, so severe you could hear a pin drop. I was out of words to say, bu I loved been here. With her.
I kept my eyes fixed on the ground and I felt really hot. Why the bloody hell was it getting so hot?
Gabrielle's Prov:
I'm soooo gonna kill Quincy, she left me alone here with a total stranger! What if he tries to rape me? I was only two chairs away from him. I didn't like thi silence.
My heart beat faster than usual.
"Uh, excuse me, I'll be right back" I said to him.
I walked into the bathroom, turned on the water while I dialed Quincy's number. It rang twice, no answer. I tried the third time before she picked up.
"Hey babe, don't worry I'm almost home just give me five minutes.." She said through the phone laughing over God knows what.
"You better be" I dropped the call and got back to the living room.
"This is awkward. I don't know why but next time, I wouldn't choose to meet you in a house." He said standing up.
"I know right? I thought I was the only one. I've never really met someone in my house. Normally w meet outdoors, the park or maybe take a walk. " I say demonstrating.
"Same with me. Apart from parties of course. Thos are exceptional." He said.
"Here, I found these pictures, you could watch em just so you wouldn't feel bored" I said handing him an album.
The door opened and in walked Quinn and poor Edwin behind her with lots of packages.
"I'm so sorry to leave you guys alone. I'll make it up with a fun game! " she said clapping her hands cheerfully.
"A truth or dare really?" I asked sarcastically.
"Yeah, exactly" she answered.
We made a circle and began playing.
I tossed the bottle and it stopped at Edwin.
I smiled mischievously "Truth or dare Ed."
"Truth" he answered with a smile.
"Ohkay.. What was your first impression about Quinn when you saw her at first" I ask.
"Well, I thought she was a fashion goddess cause she was with you dressed in what I couldn't recall and I was on a date in this fancy restaurant. You guys were just looking into the restaurant like you would want to life in it forever. So I ditched my date, wrong of me I know. Then I followed you two all the way here. The next day, I met her again in a bus. From there, we got to know each other and lov stepped in." He finished off then turning to give her a kiss.
"Ohhh I feel jealous! But I asked for a first impression not your entire love story" I snapped giving him a thumbs up afterwards.
The game went on for hours and got boring when everyone decided to go with truth throughout.
Edwin kissed Quinn good bye while I gave Luke a hug. He smelled so nice.
"I love your Cologne" I whispered in his ear. He smiled and waved goodbye.
"I'm never forgiving you for leaving me alone her with him. You did that on purpose! " I said to Quinn dragging the chocolate she had bought from her.
"How'd you.... I'm sorry, I just want you to be happy. I gave you guys that moment to get to know each other privately. I won't lie to you, I like Luke. He's an incredible guy trust me. Just give him a chance." She said looking at me with those truthful blue eyes of hers.
"What?? You're joking right? Quinn if you're asking me to date him, that's a no! I can't not after what I've Been through...I don't ne..."
"I'm not telling you to date him silly, just give him a chance. As a friend" she cut me off, hitting me wit a waterproof.
I thought about it for a few minutes and said "okay but.. No more house visits. I don't know what to do while you were gone."
"Its not gonna happen again cupcake" she promised handing me chips.

Chapter 5
Run! Run!! Run!!! Was all that she could think of at that moment, she could do nothing but run as fast as she could, away from everything, away from her sufferings, away from what she had had to put up with for a long time. She ran through the woods and deeper down the end of the streets about to lin up with the Avenue. Her eyes went to Helena who was still at the back, panthing heavily and calling to her to wait. Helena was no good athlet and she slowed Katie down a lot. They had stopped up to five times till they started running so she could catch her breath. "Kate wait pls, my leg hurts" Katie heard her cry out, she stopped immediately and went back to her. She was more scared than ever, Wayne was behind them, he'd soon reach 'em. They had come this far by running away from the house, going back there would worsen the whole thing. "Show me", fifteen year old Katie held her cousin as she lifted her right foot up. " Oh my God, you are bleeding " katie exclaimed. "I can't run any longer Kate, run fast and go, so he wont catch 'ya" Helena said. "Hell nah, ain't going no where without you Helen" and she meant it, they had come this far together, there was no way in the world she would leave her alone. "You have to go Kate! He is coming" Helena insisted. Katie thought for a while and lifted Helena up to her back dreading what would happen to them if they were caught. There would be a whole lot of sexual harassment for her and lots and lots of marks on her body. They had to get away from there fast, away from everything. Sh could start her life somewhere, anywhere apart fro the Jeffersons' residence, her aunt's house. She could achieve her goals, she could dream again as she had three years ago, things would be better onc they got out of there. As Katie took a step forward with Helena on her back, she saw the figure standing above her, what she had dreaded for, her nightmare, the worst of them. She looked up to see the huge Wayne looking down at her. "So where do you think you are going baby doll" He said just as h brought out a whip from no where, took Helena away from her and whipped her bad. "Please, leave me alone please, i'm begging you, don't hurt me anymore, I haven't done anything wrong, please, leave me please" She screamed.
Katie jerked up to a start from her bed, she ha just had one of her dreams again. She noticed she was sweating as memories of her past flew back to her. Damn she was tired of her past still hunting her, she was fed up. She tried to remember where she was and how she got there. Oh, Danpa, in Tess' residence. She looked at her surroundings and forgo almost everything that happened the night before. She needed to shower and refresh her memory. It was 9am, she woke up unusually late today. She thought as she slipped herself into the chillness of the shower. She stayed in there for a while before rubbing soap on her creamy skin, rubbing her breast slowly, she noticed they ached. Just then she heard the doorbell ring. Oops, maybe she was wrong after all, here he was, maybe he just went to get something. She rushed to the door and opened it. "Fr...." She stopped immediately as she saw who it was, it was Tess, her friend. Oh gosh, how had she forgotten about her. She must have looked disappointed because Tess looked at he carefully before saying, "Hey babes, expecting someone else?" She was teasing actually because to her, Katie was new and didn't know anyone and here, it was abnormal for a stranger to pass the night unlike the city. "Oh no, who could I possibly b expecting if not this magnificent beauty standing in front of me." She tried to fake a smile as Tess smiled too. "Gosh, look how beautiful you have become" she didn't lie about that though, Tess sure looked more beautiful than she had two years ago. She was sexier and prettier. "Look who is talking, Katie I can't believe this is you, you are looking gorgeous" Tess exclaimed as she entered into the sitting room followed by Katie after closing the door How could she be gorgeous in her condition. Last night and all, she should be looking pale. "Babes I' sorry for not being here to welcome you yesterday, I hope you didn't have any problem coming here" Oh yes she did, Fred was her problem. She couldn't get her mind off him and she couldn't help wondering where he was and why he left without saying a word. "Oh no" she waved her hand "its nothing, I had a great night" she said. "Oh you did?" Katie quickly realised her mistake and made up for it. "Huh, I mean, the food and all, your apartment too, this is really beautiful and large" She smiled as she hugged Tess tightly. She was proud of her friend, "Thanks babe" Tess said as she sat down. Katie went to the kitchen to get a chilled drink for the both of them. She came back shortly to meet Tess. "Oh why don't we top it with some delicious pizza, they sell the best in the town just the next street, lemme go get it" Tess said and tried standing up. Katie pushed her down, "oh no sweetheart, you just arrived and I have been here since, lemme go get it and then you can gist me about your date" Katie smiled. "Oh, ain't you the sweetest" Tess said as she pecked Katie. "Will be back" Katie said and went out of the apartment to the elevator which took her down to the down floor. She followed the description Tess gave her when she got on the street. The pizza shop wasn't hard to find, she found it fast. She bought what she wanted to buy, paid with her credit card and left the shop.
She was just on her way back when a car stopped in front of her, almost hitting her leg. She was vexed and was gathering insultive words in her mouth when the driver came out of the car. Oh well look who it was, Fred. Was he stalking her now after leaving without any message? "What do you want?" She demanded. "You ma'am, I want only you" he replied. He had changed his car, this car wasn't the one she damaged. And he was looking different, more handsome and more masculine, he looked like a perfect rich guy. "What do you mean" she asked scared her body might start trembling. Everything about this guy weakened her. He walked up to her just as her heart started beating fast. "Yo ma'am, I'm asking you out on a date. Would you go out with me for dinner tonight princess?" He smiled at her. Katie was speechless, not because of the wrong timing or the awkward way of asking, but because she didn't know the reply to give. He was asking her on a date? "Why the face Your Highness, I ain't gonna bite you, nor will I eat you, I'm human and you are safe with me" He continued. Katie smiled, she wouldn't show how affected she was with him, she wasn't ready to. It was a challenge and she was willing to prove that he had no effect whatsoever on her. "Yes" she said firmly. "Very wel ma'am, a car would be waiting at your apartment at exactly 8pm, don't be late" He winked and walked back to his car and drove off leaving Katie in the middle of the streets. Hmmmm, things were about to get interesting, very interesting, she thought as she walked back to the residence.

CHAPTER 4

"Are you kidding me?!" Quincy said, her eyes gleaming with glee as she clapped her hands excitedly.
"Why the hell are you feeling bubbly? Look, I don't know what that guy is up to. Showing up at the office as my new bos s. Really?? Quinn I'm getting a new job" I say standing up from the bed.
She laughed so hard I thought she had lost one of her nuts.
"Honey, you like him" she told me with a smile.
What? Like him? Why? I think he's weird. Sure I like the way he looks as a normal person but not in a way of crushing on him. I'm not so sure I'd love another without the fear of being dumped again.
"You're crazy. I do not, I repeat Quinn... I Gabrielle Salvador, do not and will not ever like your weird friend Luke" I said indignantly.
"Okay let's assume that you do not like him. Yet. Then why do you wanna get a new job?" She asked in a more serious way now.
Why do I wanna get a new job? Hmm... I don't hav any important reason though but something about that guy makes me feel uncomfortable. Call me judgmental but guys so perfect like that, are just players.
"Hello, Missy! Gone to the dream world so soon? Or you just realized you do like him?" She teases.
"Honestly, I just don't like him. That's all" I said.
" okay, whatever.. you hungry?" She asked with a calming smile.
" 'Hungry' is an understatement, I'm famished!" I sa throwing a pillow at her playfully. She giggled and we left for the restaurant. I can't remember the last time I actually went to the restaurant with someone I usually eat alone. Quincy was always around, yeah but some times I feel like I bug her a lot.
The restaurant was indeed classy. This was a place you'd go with your lover not best friend. It had classy chandeliers, the waiters were nicely dressed and so polite, the tables were wonderfully arranged with black table clothes on them. Oh it looked so lovely.
I wonder if they're still hiring.. No, not now. I won't change my job just because I feel uncomfortable with a stranger. First thing tomorrow morning on my way to work, I'm getting a taser. I don't know why I haven't gotten one. I get off work late and walk down home.. It's been settled I'm definitely getting a taser.
"Quinn...how'd you find this place? Its so lovely!" I say pulling my seat out.
She giggled "well It's all Edwin..This was where we had our first date and where we had our first kiss a a couple" she said happily picking up the menu.
"Urrrgh.. Love is messed up.. Too messed up, it makes me sick. I'm gonna eat whatever you're eating" I say dropping the menu when I couldn't understand what I saw in there.
"Why would you say that?" She said with so much confusion in her eyes. Then I remembered I hadn't told her about Elvis. Well it's better out than in so I told her everything she needed to know, how it felt like a prank but it wasn't, how every night I stay up late thinking he'd call but none.
"I'm so sorry that had to happen Gaby, he doesn't deserve you. It's a good thing he left anyway, I never liked him". She told me holding my hands.
Never liked him?? She must be joking. Everyone loved him. His perfect choice of words. His looks, his uprightness and his love for religions..he was just 100% for me.
" yeah..please let's order already! I don't want to di of starvation " I said pushing away the thoughts of him.
We took hours in the restaurant, Quincy was a slooow eater. I love eating with her 'cause I get most of hers, but in this case I needed to be home early. I needed to rest and get ready for whatever tomorrow brings.
I dropped her off at her place and went over to mine.
Getting to my building, I saw a male feature but couldn't recognize the face.
Who could that be in this late hour? What the hell does he want. Why didn't I get that taser on my wa back than waiting till tomorrow.
I grabbed my bag and few stuffs I bought, got off th car.
"Hey baby, why'd you leave me in the dark all along? No calls or texts" he said walking towards me with open arms and I recognized him. Travis.
I totally forgot he existed. We only saw when I wanted us to. He hardly comes over to my place for God knows why.
He looked like he'd had rough days too. I liked him but the love was gone long ago when I caught him messing up with some chick at a party I wasn't supposed to attend. I wanted to break it off with hi then but I felt he might die. Don't ask me why.. He just so vulnerable to anything that comes his way.
"Oh.. hey you, I'm sorry bout that but you see, I've been busy" I try to explain to him.
"Too busy to make time for us?" He said slowly coming close to me then grabbed my bottom.
I felt irritated and insulted and the same time. Did he come all the way here to sleep with me? He's crazy. Real crazy. And this has to end tonight!
If he's thinking he can come here and try to sleep with me, that ain't gonna work. He's not having it. Never!
"What are you doing here?" I said, getting his hands off me and walking towards my door.
"You mad at me?" He asks looking at me as I walk past him.
"No, I'm just asking." I answer turning to look at him once more. Contemplating my decision to end it with him tonight.
He walked over to me. Cupped my cheeks with his hands and gave me a kiss on my lips. It felt longing calming. A part of me needed a break tonight, a part of me wanted him into my home.
"Stop" I said pushing him away and walking towards the door again.
"What's wrong with you?!" He yelled.
I just hated been yelled at especially by guys. Travis is one hell of a guy, he's got quite a temper.
"You need to go Travis, please just leave." I said to him not looking back.
"Gaby, do you love me? I mean like, do you still do? Because I don't understand you attitude no more. It disgusts me. I came here to fix things up. Give you a night to remember..."
"And then walk away??!!" I yelled cutting him off and turning to look at him. My eyes felt like they were burning, burning with anger.
"If I disgust you, then please get out of my life. Because I have tried to put up with your games and all you've ever done was make it more complicated. But no Travis. I am done! I have so many other things to do now. You don't support me in anything do, you don't call unless I do, you don't even care if I'm okay or not!! Don't you dare come here talking trash to me! Don't you!!" I yelled again, tears flooded my eyes and I couldn't stop them.
"That how you want it huh??" He said with a chuckle.
"You're gonna regret this! No one would ever love you! You ugly selfish bitch!" He yelled back before leaving..
I stood there crying at his words. He always murdered me with words. But I'm so glad he's gone I don't need him. I don't need any guy in my life. Not now, I can do without them. I've been fending for myself ever since I got out of mid school. Life has been tough for me but it's making me stronger everyday. My house, my car, those were all gotten out of my hard work and more are yet to come.
I grabbed my keys, opened the door. Turned on the appliances, arranged the things I bought. I took a long bath, thinking of everything that happened tonight and hoped it was the last boy drama I'll ever face.

Chapter 4

Fred pondered on what to do next. He felt uneasy, different feelings clouded his brain, he was helpless. For the first time Frederick Stiles was helpless about something. He had never come across this type of girl, he has never seen those types of marks on someone, especially a girl. Raped!! She was raped!!! He couldn't help but think about it every time. Like she was raped brutally for years? How was that even possible? What did she do to deserve it. He felt pity, hurt, pain and above every other emotion, anger. He pushed his way through the door and forced to see the way to other rooms through the glumness of the place. After two failed tries, he finally heard her sob behind one of the closed doors and hesitated at the entrance before knocking. "Go away please, I can't see you right now" She called from within. "Katie listen to me, you need me right now, you need someone to calm you, to listen to you, I am here" Oh crap, he wasn't good at consoling nor was he at convincing, he never knew what he was lacking until now. "Katie, m not good at this but....." He was interrupted by the creaking of the door as it opened and Katie's pale face showed. She had transformed so quickly and she looked more gorgeous, even at her condition. More beautiful than sexy right now. "Thank you" he said as he walked inside the almost empty room. Well she just arrived and haven't started unpacking he guessed. He wasn't concerned about that though.

"It was horrible, I had no one, I was the only child. Throughout my twelve years on earth, I never saw any of my relatives, I didn't know them, wasn't familiar with any of them. Then one morning, a lady came to our house and asked me to pack my bags, with some members of the social services. I had no option but to follow, she called herself my aunt, my mother's sister. I left everything about this town and followed her to the city." She paused as if the story had ended. Fred could see the sadness of her eyes as she gathered her words inside. "She had a family, no husband, but two grown sons and one daughter. They were nice at first, they didn't make me feel the absence of my parents, gave me everything I ever wanted. Then one night, I was in my room, meant to be sleeping but I couldn't, thought I saw my mum talk to me so I stayed awake waiting for her to come back but laid on my bed. Just then the door opened, I didn't wanna stand up to see who it was, I was meant to be sleeping so I pretended I was. Maybe the person came to check up on me. But I didn't hear he or she leave, instead I felt the person come closer and closer to me, and then sat on my bed. Just then, I opened my eyes and sat up to see who it was. It was my cousin, Wayne was his name, he was nineteen then. I asked what he wanted but he just told me to shut up as he came closer to me and started touching me in places I haven't been touched before by a guy." Tears rolled down her eyes, Fred saw her sob quietly and his head turned red. He was vexed, angry, he wanted to tear apart the so called son of a bitch that did this. He held himself, went closer to sit beside her, gently, not wanting to hurt her, he held her hand and encouraged her to continue. "I tried to scream but he threatened me, saying he would make his sister suffer, Helena was her name, she was the closest to me, I loved her, she was just a year older than me and I took her as a sister for the few months I had lived with them. I could do anything to protect her. He listed the things he could do to us at the absence of my aunt. I was so scared, my gosh I was just twelve, didn't know what to do. I started crying as he continued touching me, he did all sorts of things to me and finally he.....he, gosh he raped me. He was so huge and too big for me to take in that I bled.
