Car Talk / Re: Nissan Rolls Out First 'Made-In-Nigeria' Cars (Photos) by ParrotNG: 6:59am On Feb 21, 2015
This does not deserve any form of applaud. What is this? Utter rubbish! Where are the roads to ply with these heavy boxes? What fuel do we buy? What service/maintenance structure could make this cars useful to the masses? Is this for Nairalanders or Presidency, National Assembly and Political Officers? Truth be said, we need low cost cars for masses not these ones civil servants can't afford. People! Try to be real and don't be deceived. I don't belong to any Political Party but I hate mediocrity. This is nothing.

Religion / Searching For God!! Right Here!!! by ParrotNG: 1:48pm On Feb 08, 2015
Where? Where? Where art thou Oh God! Where exactly do you reside? In the firmament they say but yet I fly the skies, stay all journey awake peeping to see your foot stick out of the clouds, I seem to blink a million times and no avail. I walk in the bushes, listening to the whistles from the trees, animals and wind yet he didn't show up. Up to the mountains, edge of a cliff sighting valleys on opposites, mist in the space but no magic made God's forehead pop. Plunged to the reefs and swam down the oceans to behold a figure bigger than the whale that can boldly lead me to the region underneath. After the sojourns, I remember one space - my room, my bed where I lay many nights, pondering where God is while sleeping. Lo! A voice from around me spoke softly, more gentle than a caress, calm and mild like a succour to a bruised thought. I listened in my spirit.
"You search for me young man. Look at you. I understand your worries and troubles but you looked everywhere but not inside you. One thing I will show you and that should tell you where I am."
Deep sleep took my eyes away and my weakness flattened on the bed. Suddenly, I sprung to see myself back to reality. From my stockings to the wall was a writing. 1Chronicle 29:11.

Then alone I read the Bible and found God is UNSEARCHABLE but EVERYWHERE.

Literature / Re: A True Life Story - The Warning by ParrotNG: 8:00am On Jan 30, 2015
@Lilyomi Thanks a lot. Couple of days ago, close to a week I was banned here. I really do not know what happened and who to report to. Is it because I mentioned giving away gifts and the likes just to compensate my readers? I really do not know why someone would have reported me or something cos that was what I heard. Truly, I have gifts and people are winning already on my Whatsapp, Twitter, Facebook and BBM. I still have loads of vouchers to give away but I am honestly disappointed. I felt Nairaland should have been able to mail me on whatever I've done wrong. I was shocked when I found out I was banned. Thanks for the info.

Religion / A Boring Church Service - Can You Justify It? by ParrotNG: 11:12am On Jan 18, 2015
Hello peeps, I do not intend to shoot this at anyone but this big question comes to head when I am in a church and the service from beginning to the end is somehow. What in your opinions do you think can be responsible?

Benjamin Adenekan turned down his Car Air-Conditioner as he drove through the deserted streets of Lagos Island on his way home. Though it was just 8pm, it was pouring so heavily that one could assume it was well past midnight. As Ben turned into a tiny street that led to a shortcut to his place, his BlackBerry beeped.

New Message:
He slowed down and reached into his pocket. He frowned as soon as he saw who it was from; Kourtney. Ben sighed deeply as he recalled all the stress he´d been through in his 6 months marriage. Kourtney Steel, which was now Kourtney Steel Adenekan, was Black American, and from one of the richest and most influential family in the country. Her Billioniare father owned chains of Oil Companies scattered all over the world. Ben had met Kourtney at the University Of Ghana where he had been studying on scholarship and in his final year and after dating her for few months, he had proposed. The wedding had been out of this world; It took place in one of the biggest Hotels in Paris. His Father-in-law was, of course, the main sponsor. Then, they had a 1 week honeymoon in Italy in a very expensive Pent-house. It was heaven on earth.

However, after they returned to Nigeria, everything started falling apart. Ben started to see Kourtney for what she was; a brat, a spoilt rotten immature brat, a daddy´s girl.
As soon as Kourtney abandoned her Daddy´s name and left his massive Duplex in Banana Island for her middle class husband´s flat in Ikeja, she literally went ballistic. She didn’t understand why her husband couldn’t take her touring around the world on her birthday. She didn’t understand why he was driving a 2012 Land-rover when she was cruising in her Lamborghini Murcielago that her daddy had gotten her on her birthday. She didn’t understand why he couldn’t get her the 1.2 million dollar Armani dress that she had spotted in a boutique in Italy... Or maybe she just did NOT want to understand...

Ben was tired of explaining to Miss I-get-everything-i-want-when-i-want that everyone wasn’t basking in money and not everyone owned 5 different bank accounts like her. After rows upon rows between the newly-weds, Kourtney had emptied one of her accounts and moved them into a 6-Bedroom duplex in Victoria Island that, according to her, was much more befitting to her status.
Now, people were starting to wonder who the husband in the marriage was...
Lost in these thoughts, Ben was no longer focused on the road, trying to read Kourtney´s message about some wedding coming up when...
Ben heard a loud scream in front of him...
He hit his brakes immediately, his phone crashing to the floor...
Then...everywhere was silent...
Benjamin pushed open his car door as the thunder rumbled and crashed. As soon as he stepped out into the down-pour,he noticed her...
She was in a black long skirt and a skin-tight black shirt. Her unkempt hair was glued to her face and she shivered as the rained soaked her entire body down to her marrows.

``Are you okay?´´ Ben began, studying her. There was no way this girl was more than 16.
She nodded. ``I...I..I´m s..ss..sorry...I wasn’t watching´´ she replied in a tiny voice.
Ben nodded. ``What are you doing here? Where are your parents? They must be so worried´´
She nodded curtly and stood aside, wrapping her arms around her body as the rain got heavier.
He watched her for a while and then, went back into his car. He started the engine and wound up the window, noticing she hadn’t moved. He tried to push that aside as he started his engine and started to drive away...
Then...he looked back at her with his mirror... she was still there...just standing...looking...
Ben sighed and...without thinking...reversed and went back to her...
He opened the door and she looked at him...
``Get in´´
She didn’t move...instead she stared at him, and he finally saw fear written all over her...
``You can trust me, I want to help you, please, get in´´ he stated.
She hesitated, then went around and got in...

``Ben! Jeez, where the heck have you been? It was starting to get late!´´ Kourtney started as soon as her husband walked into their bedroom
``Dont start, Kourt. Don´t.´´ Ben simply replied, flinging his briefcase onto his reading table.
Kourtney pouted like a child. ``But..´´
Just then, there was a knock. ``WHO THE HELL IS THAT??´´ Kourt hollered in her usual loud manner.

Their maid, Mary, opened the door. ``Sir, I just wanted to ask which room to take our guest´´
Kourtney´s blue eyes widened. ``Woah, what guest?´´
``Put her in any room. Mary. As long as she´s comfortable´´ Ben replied.
Bella left and Kourtney spun around to face him. ``Whats going on?´´she asked
`` I met this girl,Kourt...picked her up...´´
``WHAAAT?Benjamin! What girl??´´
``Would you quit yelling!´´
Kourtney stared at him with her killer gaze, pushed past him and headed downstairs, her full yet fake human hair bouncing all about till she got down, almost bumping into the girl. Kourtney took a good survey of her; She was tall and thin with terrible fashion sense, according to her.
``Hey, there´´ Kourt said coldly
``Evening, Ma´am´´ she answered
That ticked Kourtney off. ```Ma´am? I´m 24, I´m no ma´am´´ She snapped.
``Kourt, cut it out.´´ Ben warned, as he descended the stairs.
The girl kept mute. Ben turned to her. ``Come with me´´
``And where do you think you´re taking that stranger to?´´ Kourt asked.
``Kourtney, would you please shut up!´´ Ben commanded, losing his temper. Stunned, Kourtney walked away...

Ben watched as the teenager settled into her room. It had finally stopped raining but it was so cold...
``Do you need anything else?´´ He chirped in
``No,thank you,sir´´
He nodded. ``Can I ask you some questions?´´
She nodded as Ben sat beside her.``What´s your name?´´
``Wuraola´´...

The Warning

A True Life Story written by ParrotNG - Odunayo Ogunsanwo

Powwwww! The loud slap on Chika's face made the ceiling fan roll. Bayo was a strong willed man that would never allow anything called opposite sex make a sound under his tone. He loves expressing authority as much as he loved his position as the MD of his company.

Chika wouldn't have been a worse wife after all, having trained up his two boys from cradle to Basic three class. She had twins for him seven years before date in what seems to be like an evident absence from her delivery room even up till the babies were two weeks old. The only issue was the same old thing - my career this, my career that. Well, he transferred all the hospital bills via online payment and made excuse that he had to be at an important annual general meeting for a proposed Holdings takeover.

In a silent wail, she exhaled with short gasps looking at Bayo's huge figure which was about to explode anger on her. She could only calculate her paces steps farther behind from him. "How many times do I have to warn you about barging on my privacy? Huh? How many? 50, 100, 200? Must I lose count before you know what I mean by every English word that explains privacy?" Bayo raised his voice louder at shivering Chika. "But what have I done again, Bayo? I only came to inform you about dinner but you served me the weight of your arm on my face. Why?" She gasped in fear of more as she narrated in a more trembling voice. "Oh! Dinner! That gory meal! At the expense of the time zone chats with my Canadian expats? Huh? Now get out and feed the boys! Mine can come later". He slammed the door behind her. Barefooted Chika rushed to the dining, wiping her face with the feathers of her blouse. She had forgotten her flip flops in Bayo's room but would haste fast before the food gets cold.

Just like nothing ever happened from the lobby down the stairs, she wore a warm smile at Timmy and Tammy who held their cutleries high while gazing at the hung flat screen showing cartoon. "Come on boys, let's pray and dine, your dad is busy as usual", she cajoled. Tammy prayed and a lot were discussed about school bugs and bands. They all cleared the table individually. Chika cleaned the dishes while the boys made their bed and got ready for night prayers from mummy. She laid them in and went to her room. On the second thought, she felt it was necessary to remind Bayo of his gettng-cold dinner. She knocked for some time and opened gently after no response came in from the large room half-occupied with books and files. She could see him at a distance in front of a large screen doing what seems to be a presentation. His room was another headquarter from his spacious office on Lagos Island. To his left was another computer screen displaying a board of 'men' seated like an audience.

While Chika was waiting, Bayo did not appear to notice her at all. She closed the door gently behind her and went to her waiting bed. She had been sleeping all alone for weeks. Her pillows get wet each night from uncontrollable tears but she had more problems to deal with than hope things will get better so soon. Not even a notification blink on her phone could move her hands. The whimpers soon made way into a light sleep. In an abrupt moment, she heard a movement down the lobby towards her door knob, opened her eyelids to sense the moving object - it was Bayo by her door. As he opened the door...
