I thought I’d share a bit about my process because there isn’t much recent information on student visa applications from Nigeria. This is obviously just my own experience and not a guarantee that the same approach will work for everyone.

One major issue I faced before the visa stage was document legalisation. When I initially contacted the Spanish Consulate for an appointment, I was given February 2027, which would have made it impossible to join the programme this year. After intervention from my university’s international office, the Consulate later moved my appointment forward to July, which allowed me to complete the legalisation and proceed with the visa application.

Before submitting my visa application, I tried to remove as much financial uncertainty as possible:

- I paid my full tuition fee.
- I paid for one full year of university accommodation.
- I obtained ASISA health insurance covering the full period of my stay.
- My brother, who lives and works in the UK, sponsored my living expenses and provided the required sponsorship and financial documents.

Before committing that much money, I first got confirmation from UAB that my tuition/enrolment payments would be refunded in the event of a documented visa refusal. I would recommend doing something similar where possible instead of paying large amounts without knowing the refund conditions.

My cover letter was also quite short and direct. I explained my professional background, why the Computer Vision programme was a natural continuation of what I already do, and why I specifically wanted this programme. I also mentioned that I had known about/followed the programme since 2023, so the application wasn’t something I had randomly decided on just for the purpose of travelling to Spain.

I can’t say which particular factor led to the approval, but my approach was to make the application as coherent as possible: relevant professional background → relevant master’s programme → recognised university → tuition and accommodation already secured → clear funding for living expenses → insurance covering the full stay.

My visa timeline:
- Application submitted: 3 August 2026
- Visa issued: 2 September 2026
- Passport dispatched: 3 September 2026
- Passport received: 4 September 2026
- Outcome: Approved

Some of my major costs were:
- Tuition: €4,867
- Accommodation: €6,276
- Insurance: €1,184

My main recommendation would be to build an application that makes sense as a whole. Get admitted into a legitimate programme that fits your academic/professional background, document your finances properly, and make sure the purpose of study is easy for whoever reviews the application to understand.

Instead of playing the “you deserve better” game so I could smash her, I spent the next two hours giving her the HARSHEST, MOST BITTER TRUTH she probably ever heard in her life.

I told her straightforwardly:

“There’s nothing outside. Like, literally...
Nothing.

The moment you leave your marriage, 95% of the men you meet… including me… will only want to sleep with you. That’s it. We won’t marry you. We won’t commit to you. We’ll just smash and move on.

You’re seeing your husband’s flaws because you live with him. Every man has flaws. You won’t see mine until you marry me. Every marriage will go through tough seasons. Stop letting social media deceive you… there is no perfect marriage out there.”

I didn’t stop there.

I then gave her practical, realistic strategies to start doing for the next 30 days to inspire her husband to change. Real psychological advice when it comes to dealing with men. Not prayer and fasting alone… real strategy.

Then I told her: “Do it and update me in one month.”

Two months passed. No word from her.

Then last month, my phone rang from an unknown number.

It was her.

First, She apologized for disappearing. Then she told me how her husband’s behavior had changed drastically. How the tension in the house melted. How respect and love returned to the home.

She said she would have regretted leaving her marriage for the rest of her life.

Then she thanked me for “saving her home.”

Before we ended the call, I playfully asked: “So where is my 50k marriage counseling fee?”

To my shock, she asked for my account number and sent 30k.

“Manage that one,” she said, laughing.



Anyways…. Here's the reality:


The biggest killer of marriages today is telling your marital problems to the wrong person.

As a woman, If you open up about your marital frustration into a bitter, single or “independent” woman, she will tell you:
“Leave him sis. There are better men out there.”

If you open up about your relationship problem to a weak, opportunistic man… he will pretend to be a better man while stylishy positioning himself to sleep with you. He’ll tell you everything you wants to hear just to get between your legs.

Very few people will tell you the truth like I did with that lady.

Most men will exploit your vulnerability just to smash you.

Most women will tell you to leave the marriage…just because they want you to be single like them.

This is why so many marriages that could have been saved are dead today.


The real reason so many marriages die quietly: they open up to the wrong people.

this is one of the reasons why you should avoid marrying a girl from a poor background. not your brother or uncle, but your brother inlaw, and you call what he sent to you pittance. don’t you think he has relatives and siblings he gift money as well?

That’s the first thing I always tell single men to stay away from ladies from poor background if you want to live long.

If you believe deep in your heart and speak it as often times as possible that you will someday in no distant time travel to saner climates of the world, then nature forces will activate it and it’ll definitely come to pass. My dear, sometimes learn to persevere. Sorry doesn’t cost a thing. If I were you, I would gladly do so particularly cause my take-home pay comes from there. Sometimes in life, we win some, lose some too. To me, it’s never too late. Go see the school admin and tender unreserved apology and then proceed to do same to the affected colleague you had the altercation with. That way, you probably might get your job back. Please do so fast. At the appropriate timing you can seek redress but this time and precision isn’t the right timing.

Good day Nairalanders, To say I’m disrupted and perturbed will be an understatement because tell me why a School Admin will dismiss his Staff simply because she refused to apologize to a staff who insulted her in presence of students simply because he’s an Old Staff who teaches Senior Class Mathematics and I’m a new staff teaching CRS.

I’ve been working with this said school since April 2024, I was assigned to Teach CRS to Jss1/2 which I did awesomely. The students can attest to the fact that I tutor them well and they Love me and my Teaching.
After the Altercation I was the person who reported the issue to the School Admin so the Man can be cautioned and reprimanded, instead I was the one being rebuked and told to apologize which I blatantly refused cause I never insulted him.
I later took the matter to the Proprietor of the school who said the Old staff was wrong for insulting me , he promised to speak with the Admin concerning the issue while I was waiting to get justice the next thing was to receive a letter of Dismissal.
Only God knows the Lies Lucky said to the Proprietor which made him to be a party to the dismissal.
When I went to complain to the Proprietor about the Dismissal letter he said Lucky I.e the school admin requested I apologize to the Man and I refused so In that case his hands is off.

Just like that I was Dismissed because the Administrator wanted to prove a point that he’s superior. My God will judge him even after drinking my birthday malt, Same way he disgraced me out of duty karma will definitely do same to him.

Ps: while I was going to report the issue to the Proprietor of the school I heard Lucky uttering that next Time they tell me something to say I will say it!

For the sake this poor boy is an orphan who has gone through the rigours of schooling and then graduating, he should be allowed to complete his NYSC. Life is already too hard. Let’s not make it worse off.

I witnessed same as well when I served in 2013 at Maritime Academy, Oron in Akwa Ibom state. It was very rampant there then. I had two civil servants in my unit who had HIV. They weren’t hiding it then. Thursdays was for their retroviral drugs. It was really scary for me then

It's one of the best in Nigeria although new.

You can also look up Shanahan University, Onitsha another great school.

I believe igbinedion university has churned out the most doctors/pharmcist/ nursing graduates for a private university. Their medical school started in 1999 they had their first set of doctors in 2007(8 years+)

I heard covenant was starting medicine.
I believe Afe babalola started too.

Funny I just met a nurssing student some minutes ago inside a keke. She's studying at Birmingham university (I think karu, nassarawa) . She told me they have medicine and have graduated medical students.
I was surprised so I asked when they started the medical program and she said around 2011 which is fair.( if u consider the fact that a school like ekpoma had their first set of doctors after 15 years, uni Abuja had theirs in 2017 after 12 years.)

Besides, on a personal level, I haven't heard or read of achievements or news in the media about that school in more than a decade.
