Chapter one

Kiara POV

I ignored mom calls as I quickly ran upstairs, how dare she do that to me, to dad? I can’t anymore, it’s been 2 years since dad died and she is already engaged for just two years if dad has done that to her, I doubt she would have liked it, my tears soak my duvet, and I heard the door open but refused to raise my head.

” baby” mom called. I ignored her, I felt the bed pressed as she sat down, she came closer to me and touch my back.

” Baby?” she called again.

” don’t call me that mom” I snap angrily. she sigh the touched my hair.

“I haven’t forgotten about your father sweetheart, I love him so much,” she said.

” Leave me alone”.

” please Kara”.

” don’t call me that my name is Kiara”.

” I’m sorry,” she said and stood up before walking out of the room. she doesn’t love him enough to run into marriage, it is not that she even has a boyfriend, she is engaged, how long has she been with the man. I took and phone and dial in Sharon’s number.

” bitch” she screamed.

” Sharon” I called sadly.

” what’s wrong bitch?” she asked.

“I need you” I cried through the phone.

” Just calm down and I will be there in a second,” she said and hang up. I held my phone tighter to my chest, mom shouldn’t do this, I don’t think it would work out for both of us. minutes later Sharon arrived and I explained everything to her, she told me everything is going to be fine and I should take it easy and she my mom also need happiness, I disagreed for a while before agreeing later. we cuddle on my bed after eating popcorn.

Sharon is my best friend for six years now, we met in high school, she is kind of those badass girls while I was just the nerdy and quiet one, she is nineteen and we both plan to go to the same college but what my mom is saying about moving to Florida, that means I have to go there for college and we both dreamt of going to college in New York. we just finished high school and we are on holiday after our boring prom that I did not attend.

” what about college?” I asked.

” don’t worry about that, I will be fine and I will always come to visit you,” she said, now I felt like crying again.

” but shawty”

” no-no, do not cry, I told you before that crying is for weak girls,” she said and I hugged her.

“I love you,” I said

” me too Kiara,” she said.

NEXT WEEK

I stare out the window of the cab, I and my mom were both going to the airport, I already missed Sharon, mom haven’t told me about her fiance. this was the first time I was leaving Texas since dad died.

” Kiara” mom called and I turn to look at her. she arrange my glasses and I smiled at her.

” We are entering Thompson private jet,” she said happily.

” he has a private jet?” I asked and she nodded happily, wow rich stepdad. we got to the airport and brought our things out of the cab, the rest of our things was carried with a truck to Florida.

” wow,” I exclaimed, the private jet is so beautiful, mom smiled as she saw me smiling. we walked into the plane and I quickly sat on one of the seats.

” you like it?” she asked and I nodded.

” This is just one of his babies,” mom said.

” he has more than one?” I asked.

” yes,” she said.

” he must be very rich,” I Said.

” yeah he is,” she said smiling.

HOURS LATER

I stare at the cars unable to move, I looked at the black range Rover, black Lexus 470, black Bugatti, and black Range Rover again.

” move sweetheart” mom said as she walked to the car and entered the black Bugatti, I quickly entered with Mom.

” mom” I whispered and she turn to me.

” what work does he do?” I asked.

” business” she replied.

” what type of business?” I asked.

” he has a lot of hostels, hospitals, schools, and also importing and exporting goods” she explained.

” that sounds like a good job,” I said. the cars started moving, and I look through the window, wow Florida is so beautiful but that doesn’t still change the fact that I prefer Texas, I already miss Sharon.

I stare at the house in shock, now everything about this man is seriously shocking me.

” honey you are drooling,” mom said laughing and I quickly touch my mouth to see nothing, I glare and finally laugh. A man walked out and mom quickly hugs him, I looked at him, he is so muscular and built, he had a beautiful jawline, this man is hot like so hot, he was wearing a tuxedo with perfectly styled jet black hair, he has hazel eyes, he was wow my mom really did a good job.

” hey, Kiara” he called.

” Mr. Thompson nice to meet you,” I said extending my hands for a handshake he smiled showing his perfect set of white teeth.

“I have heard a lot about you, Kiara,from your mom” he said and I smiled.

” let’s go in,” he said and we walked into the house, it even looked better inside.

” she will show you to your room,” he said referring to a girl who was wearing a maid’s dress but it look very short for a maid to wear. she directed me upstairs and opened a door, I walked into the room and my mouth was left wide people ittts a Queen-size bed with a pink painting with a couch and TV, it has two doors, I wonder what is behind those doors, I quietly sat on the bed not knowing what to do, an idea popped into my head and I immediately stood up, I should just check around, I walked through the long corridor, I started hearing noises from one of the room, what is wrong? what if something is happening to someone there? I immediately opened the room to see the shock of my life.
