Alex Ferguson went into the Stamford Bridge pitch to have a chat with three Manchester United substitutes after their FA Cup win over Chelsea.

Sir Alex has made multiple visits to United's training ground since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho last December.

And the Norwegian manager has admitted that the Scotsman has remained a positive influence to him as a player and his managerial career.

"He knows the staff I've got are Manchester United through and through. He knows we're going to do whatever we can, up to the last second we're here, for Manchester United, as best we can."

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ibadan Zonal Office, on Tuesday arraigned one Oladimeji Omotola Abiola, pictured, before Hon. Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court 2, sitting in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on a five-count charge bordering on obtaining money by false pretense and possession of false documents.

One of the charges preferred against him reads,

That you Oladimeji Omotola Abiola 'M' sometimes in the month of January, 2019, at Ibadan, Oyo State, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, with intent to defraud, did obtained by false pretense the sum of Two Hundred and Thirty United States of American Dollars ($230.00) from one Jeremiah Barber who resides in the United States of America, under the pretense that you are a woman named Jessie West, ready to marry him, which pretense you knew to be false and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 1 (1) & (2) and punishable under Section 1 (3) of the Advance Fee Fraud and other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.

A statement released by the antigraft agency says the defendant pleaded not guilty to all the charges. Prosecuting counsel, Adeola Elumaro, therefore, applied for a trial date and for the remand of the defendant in prison custody.

However, counsel to the defendant, A. D. Akinferan, told the court that he had a pending bail application on the matter, which he was yet to serve the prosecution; and thus prayed the court for a short adjournment to enable him do the needful.

Justice Abdulmalik adjourned the case to March 4, 2019 for trial and hearing of the bail application. The defendant was remanded in Agodi Prison Ibadan.

A middle-aged woman, Esther Emiola, has dragged ex-Super Eagles star Sani Kaita to the Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) over an alleged child abandonment.

News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported on Monday, that Eniola's legal representative, Frank Tietie, of the Forthright Chamber, Area 11, Abuja alleged that the former Nigerian international put her in the family way as he got her pregnant in 2015, with a promise to tie the knots but absconded later.

In his petition, Tietie cited Section 16(1A) of the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act (VAPP) 2015, purported that the ex-Kano Pillars ace Kaita, never inquired after the child's welfare nor the mother's upkeep.

NAN further revealed that Section 16(1A) of the VAPP Act 2015 duels on abandonment of children, spouse and other dependents without a means of sustenance.

"A person who abandons a wife or husband, children or other dependent without any means of sustenance commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a term of imprisonment not exceeding three years or to a fine not exceeding N500,000.00 or both," the section read in part.

The petition from the woman's lawyer reads as follow:
"We are solicitors to Esther Emiola; hereinafter referred to as our client and on whose instructions we hereby write to request the arrest and compulsion of Sani Kaita on grounds of abandonment, according to the provision of Section 16 VAPP Act 2015.

"Mr Kaita is well known international footballer with sufficient financial means of providing for the welfare of the baby and his mother but he has willfully chosen to abandon them for three years .

"Presently Mr Kaita is in Abuja and he is again seeking the possibility of another sexual liaison with our client and has invited her to a secret location in Abuja."

Responding on the petition, NAPTIP Director of Investigation and Monitoring, Josiah Emerole, told NAN that after receiving the petition they have taken the necessary action.

"The petition has been forwarded to the appropriate unit of the agency for necessary action," Emerole submitted.

Anyanwu holds International coaching certificate from the English FA and the Italian FA after first obtaining a Diploma Certificate in Nigeria.

We started the record label part of it right there in my room, which we relocated to Lagos around Vals day 2008 – and we thank God for guiding and crowning our efforts thus far; we’ve played our little part in helping discover/boost the careers of a number of talents in the Music business (some of your favourite Artists, Producers & Engineers..) and we are forever grateful for the opportunity to live out our dreams by giving others a platform to shine as well.

While the EME brand remain, the company has announced by Banky W will now be a ‘full fledged media agency’ focusing on Creative Marketing, Advertising, PR, Brand Events/Activations and talent management.



Their clients presently include DJ Xclusive, Ebuka, Toolz, Banky himself and his wife Adesua and few corporate brands.

Woman Tortures Stepdaughters With Hot Knife And Pepper

A 29-year-old woman has been arrested following a ruthless torture on her stepdaughters resulting to various injuries on their body. They are Vera (10-year-old girl) and Favour (5-year-old).

The woman, Chidima Nnachi, reportedly beat up Vera, rubbed pepper on her eyes and burned her back with a hot knife because Vera, a primary four pupil of Ola Olu Montessori School, went to play after returning from school on February 7, 2018.

Chidima Nnachi also reportedly injured 5-year-old Favour on the forehead and inserted pepper in her eyes for allegedly soiling her body.
The family, including Nnachi’s husband, live at Aso Rock Street, Brucknor Estate, Ejigbo, Lagos State.

While the children were rescued and taken into protective custody by the Office of the Public Defender of the state Ministry of Justice, Nnachi was arrested by the police from the Ejigbo division.

Punch Metro reports that the children’s mother died in 2012 after she gave birth to Favour.

A neighbour, identified simply as Olajide, was said to have reported the case at the Ejigbo Police Division and the suspect was apprehended.

Olajide told the police that Nnachi had been maltreating the children for a long time, adding that Vera’s groans on that day prompted him to make a report.

He said: “It was a neigbour who called my attention to the maltreatment of the children by their stepmother. I witnessed the torture of the girl (Vera) by her stepmother.

She beat her for about three hours on that day. I was sad and informed the community development association chairman who advised that that we should report the case to the police.”

Vera said she had returned from her school some distance away from the house on the day with Favour, but returned to the school premises to play.

She said when she returned home around 3.30pm, she met her stepmother, who beat her up with a stick for playing on the street.

The girl added that the woman (her stepmother) put a knife in a burning liquefied petroleum gas (cooking gas) for some minutes and pressed it on her back.

Enugu State Government has announced increase in the allowance for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in primary healthcare facilities in rural areas in the state.

The Commissioner for Information, Mr Ogbuagu Anikwe, announced this in Enugu on Wednesday while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting.

Anikwe said that medical doctors serving in hospitals in rural areas would henceforth receive N30, 000 monthly from the state government as against N3, 800 being given to them currently.



Similarly, he said, pharmacists, nurses, radiographers, laboratory scientists and statisticians would receive a monthly stipend of N20, 000.

He announced that the government also planned to review the service condition and welfare of other set of corps members in the state.

The commissioner explained that the increase in allowances of the corps members serving in health facilities was to further ensure that health services were taken close to rural dwellers.
“The government has approved that each corps member selected to work as a medical doctor in government hospital in the rural areas will get a monthly stipend of N30, 000.

“All of these will cost the government extra N31.2 million per annum but it is an expense that is worth it. It is to ensure that health facilities are available at the door steps of our people,” he said.

Anikwe said that the government noted the challenges of getting medical personnel to work health facilities in rural communities and decided on the incentive.

According to him, the council decided that one sure way to solve the problem is to get health personnel from the NYSC who will be encouraged with an increased stipend.

The commissioner said that the state government had invested much in rural communities and would want such facilities to have direct impact on the inhabitants.

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. Sulyman Abdulkareem, has raised the alarm over the destruction of the institution’s multi-million naira research and training farms by cattle belonging to unknown herdsmen. He also said the cattle had poisoned the dam.

On Monday our correspondent gathered that, following the development, the management of the institution held a security meeting with the leaders of 11 Fulani settlements located on the institution’s land.

The meeting was also attended by representatives of law enforcement agencies comprising the Nigerian Police Force, the Department of State Security Services and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps.
During the meeting, the vice chancellor warned that the management of the university would no longer tolerate illegal grazing on its land.

Abdulkareem also ordered squatters who had started building permanent structures on the university’s land without approval from the management to vacate the university land in the interest of peace.

He said, “We have a multi- million naira programme that is currently at stake now because they (herders) have gone to the extent of uprooting tubers of cassava for their cattle to feed on.

Reacting to the development, the Chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Usman Adamu, told the UNIILORIN authorities that the herdsmen destroying the university farm land were not living in the community.

He claimed that the Fulani had been living peacefully in the environment and had even helped in checking crimes, such as kidnappings, robberies, which up to this time occurred on the university campus.

Adamu asked for time to come up with an appropriate response on the matter by February 22 , 2018 .

Benue state police command has said the body of one of its officers has been retrieved in unflattering condition, as the eyes, ears and nose have been removed.

Four policemen were declared missing after the Saturday night attack on Azege-Ayilamo community in Logo Local Government area of the state.

The command stated on Saturday that suspected herdsmen had ambushed a patrol team at Azege-Ayilamo in Logo council area, where four of its men went missing.
Two of the missing policemen were said to have been rescued on Sunday and have rejoined their colleagues while the search for the remaining two continued.



A press statement signed by the command spokesman, ASP Moses Yamu, and made available to our correspondent in Makurdi on Monday, regrets to announce the death of one of its Non Commissioned Officers, NCO, who was one of the remaining two missing Policemen in the attack on Saturday.
