The fragile peace in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State was on Sunday morning shattered by suspected herdsmen who invaded Sondi village, killing 25 people .

National President of the Nigeria Association of Wapan Students, Tsokwa Addanti Ajidik, who made this known to journalists,added that the gunmen burnt many houses before fleeing.

“Today (Sunday) some gunmen in security uniform attacked our village. I can confirm to you that 25 people have so far died going by the reports at our disposal. The gunmen also looted properties worth millions of naira,” he added.

Ajidik expressed dismay at what he described as the lukewarm attitude of security operatives whom, according to him, had fore knowledge of the invasion.

“We are not happy with the security operatives because they were aware that these attackers were invading our village today, yet they did not prevent the attack.”

Taraba State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Ademola Omole, who confirmed the incident, put the death toll at seven.

Omole said, “So far, only seven people were confirmed killed. But we are fully on the ground there. I have sent more of our men to the area and peace has returned.”

Enugu State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has arrested a man, Mr. Ozoemena Nwankwo, for allegedly beating his pregnant wife, Ndidi Nwankwo, to death. The Enugu state Police public Relations Officer, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, explained that the incident occurred around 10pm on October 17 at Nwankwo’s residence in Akpawfu village, Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State. According to the police spokesman, Nwankwo, who was described as a chronic wife-beater, beat up Ndidi, who was four months pregnant, until she lost consciousness. The woman sustained a severe injury on her right leg in the course of the beating. It was gathered that the pregnant woman gave up the ghost after she was rushed to a nearby hospital. Ndidi’s corpse has been deposited at Agbani General Hospital, in Nkanu West Local Government Area, while Nwankwo is currently in custody as police operatives conduct investigations into the incident. Amaraizu said Nwankwo has expressed regrets over the development, saying he never thought his pregnant wife would die as a result of the beating.

This Asian man was spotted sleeping on the streets of Lagos a few days ago. Adeola Odeku street in Victoria Island to be precise. This is not the first time he's been spotted roaming around the area. People suspect he may be homeless. Never seen this before in Lagos.

This bad incident happened yesterday October 18th at Kilo Bus Stop in Surulere. The man is allegedly an Okada man who blatantly urinated on a naked transformer high tension cable and was instantly electrocuted. People in the area say the transformer is a danger to them and are asking PHCN or the Lagos State government to help them sort this out before more people are injured or even killed. See more pics

The news on Friday of the Federal Government striking a ceasefire deal with Boko Haram, the ruthless fundamentalists, was a breakthrough many had long waited for.

It was the first step on the journey to finding lasting peace, many believe.

From July 2009 when the group started its violent campaign till date, the group had killed over 5,000 Nigerians and destroyed property worth several billions of naira.

The group had also sacked many communities in some states in the North-East.

The transition to suicide bombings and open commando-style attacks in recent times added new dimension to the insurgency.

The abduction of over 200 schoolgirls by the Boko Haram in Chibok, a sleepy community in Borno State on April 14, 2014, remains a huge testament to how sophisticated the sect had become.

Many attempts have been made by the Federal Government to contain the activities of the sect.

A respected Nigerian Muslim cleric, Dahiru Usman Bauchi, once issued a statement saying that the Boko Haram and the Federal Government had chosen him as a peace negotiator. Boko Haram spokesman Abul Qaqa rejected the claim.

Ibrahim Datti Ahmed, a respected cleric who was acting as intermediary between Boko Haram and the Federal Government, quitted the role, accusing the government of insincerity.

Two months later, a purported deputy of Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau gave a radio interview in which he claimed the sect had had preliminary peace talks with Nigerian Vice-President Namadi Sambo in Saudi Arabia, only for the group to issue a statement two days later rejecting the claim and disowning him as an impostor.

The violent activities of the sect attracted global attention on April 14, 2014, after it abducted the Chibok schoolgirls. Some days after the abduction the leader of the sect, Shekau, threatened that he would sell the girls.

Appeals by stakeholders, including the United States, the United Kingdom and others could not make the terrorists to shift ground.

Nigerians, however, expressed delight on Friday when the news broke that the Federal Government and the Boko Haram sect had agreed to ceasefire. They hoped that both parties would respect the terms of the agreement.

This incident happend in Amukoko area of Lagos State yesterday,man stripped his wife completely naked in public for dating his friend.

The husband identified as Musibau was said to have trailed the love birds to their nest at a beer parlour, along Alaba Oro Road and pulled the wife, Mulikatu out from the place.

.com gathered that all efforts made by customers at the bar to pacify Musibau proved abortive as he quickly tore his wife’s clothes, including her

undies to shred.

An eye witness who identified himself as Kolawole disclosed that immediately the other man, Mufu saw what the woman’s husband was doing to his wife, he took to his heels.

Musibau gave Mufu a hot chase but was lucky to escape.

Some women in the area were said to have brought a wrapper and blouse to cover Mulikatu’s unclothedness. The woman had to borrow money from the sympathising residents who advised her to go to her relative’s residence to pass the night because her husband was so angry and could kill her.

Kolawole said while the women were blaming men for infidelity, the women blamed it on the men who could not provide for their families and also satisfy them sexually.
