Op, what else do you expect from a mere commissioner? He is trying to impress his boss.

Bad. But, as long as white cars are made to run on black tyres, as long as the devils is painted black and as long as you wash your white cloth before other colours then racism will never end.

As expected, many Nigerians have expressed their dissatisfaction on the announcement by CBN instructing all DMBs (Deposit Money Banks) in the country to place a N50 charge on every transaction from N1,000.

In order to avoid any further confusion, here is what you need to know about the CBN’s N50 stamp duty:

1. It is an Act that was passed into law called the Stamp Duties Act 2004 and Federal Government Financial Regulations 2009, but now being implemented in 2016.

2. The Stamp Duty charge is not being imposed by the Banks, but by the Federal government through the CBN.

3. The imposition of the Stamp Duties Act at this time is to enhance the governments revenue generation drive which has become necessary due to the fall in global oil prices.

4. All receipts, whether Cash or Electronic transfers from N1000 and above into a Current account is eligible and will be charged N50 stamp duty.

5. Only Current accounts are eligible to be charged Stamp Duty on all receipts.

6. The following receipts are exempted from the imposition of Stamp Duty:

a. Deposits or Transfers made by SELF into another account in the same bank and/or other banks.
b. Any Transfers into a Savings account.
c. Any Withdrawals from a Savings account.

7. The Stamp Duty is charged only to the receiving account i.e. the account receiving the money.

8. The N50 Stamp Duty will be charged per transaction and not per volume; that is any transactions from N1,000 and above.

9. The monies collected does not belong to the Banks, but the Federal Government. The Banks are only a channel for collecting and remitting the money to the Federal Government.

10. Under the schedule to the Stamp Duty Act 2004, other exemptions specified includes payments of salaries and wages etc.

spyglaxx:
yea 100 watt is enough.The mono is latest technology.It peaks at 19.45volts while poly is old technology and peaks @ 16.4volts. and you would need a charge controller. are you in lagos?

no i am not in Lagos.

spyglaxx:
@pato eta
the solar panel is performing wonderfully. but it took two days to fully charge the 100amps battery with a 70watts polycrytall. i was at alaba today to get a monocrystal panel 100 watts. 50 watts is now 11k. but i was lucky to get 100watt mono for 14k.dat price is not possible again. i bought some led light that i will connect directly with a step down to the 100amps battery.pics shortly

that means if i can get 100 watts panel it shld be able to charge a 40ah battery in a day. Also, between the mono and poly panel which is better?

spyglaxx:
@ceejay
Thanks for this sensitization. I got the tv with adapter @ 6k ,
solar panels 100 watts 13k,
charge controller 4k,
100ah battery (mercury servicable) 15k,
ups 2k. I rejected the one with double battery.
NEPA HAS REMOVED ALL THE LIGHT IN OUR TOWN THEY SAID WE ARE OWNING #33MILLION. So thats the latest i will assemble it today and feed you back.

talk2ekpa:
I don't think so. I've already commenced my observations, and the charging time is one of my priority. I'll give my final observations when I'm done.

Aluko, the lassa infested rat.

Do they look like they care? All they want is a platform to leverage on to remain in power.

They just want to entice people to come to their boko ravaged state to serve.
