Pets / Re: Please Help Me Check If My Pups Are Gsd by patnas1990: 11:25am On Jul 21, 2021
Wow Really nice ekuke...
Mekudi:
I bought this two pups from a breeder, the black is female , I bought it 1 month ago, but I noticed her Ears are now pointing up.
So the breede encouraged me to get a male for mating and for stud, so I went to pick the male last 2 weeks, he is also looking chubby, the breeder said the male is 3 months old.
Now I'm doubting if the male is really a GSD ,my wife called my attention to his Ears, they are flat and no signs that his Ears will rise anytime from now.

This is first first time raising a foreign dog so I don't have any experience yet and I don't know much about identifying a pure breed

Thanks my oga for following.
Truly sorry if my last post wasnt really clear, I am not so conversant with a lot terms used in construction just trying my best, though I have been making my research on the most common terms used in the profession so as to understand very well what the project contractor gives me.
Thanks for your valid input as well. I think I would just go for the wood planks afterall.

mufutau55:
I agreed with Hum2020 that you did not give cost for the foundation/DPC. Reading your last post one would think you mean the 458k included the foundation/DPC.
Now, for the cost of lintel, it seems good to me, the quantity of materials needed andvthe respective labor cost. There are more work involved in casting the pillars and the lintel. This is a granite, cement, sand and concrete work.
Go for the wood planks method for 445k. You may even use the wood planks for other things later... Using marine board is not any better. God will provide the fund.

Truly sorry I have not been able to give a lowdown on expenses made so far from the foundation to the German floor, i haven't really had the time to compute it. I will do that in due time.

The 458,000 is what has been spent so far from the German floor to the current level it is(lintel).

Hum2020:
@pstnas1990 from your statements u mean that the sum 458,000 is what you have spend from foundation to this very stage the work has being done because from start of this project you did not state the amounts which spent on foundationto dpc ,well for me quotation of using plank for lintel and Columus is ok

Greetings fellow nairalanders and all the professionals viewing this thread. So far so good work hasn't been moving at a speedy rate due to rainfalls in the past week. But we have arrived at the lintel.

So far from the German floor to this level an exact 458,000
has been spent on blocks, cement, sand and labour. We did a little expansion of the living room as well all this is included in the 458,000 spent so far.

Now a quotation was given to me by my project contractor to do the lintel and columns. I attached a screenshot of the PDF sent to me. Please I need your expert opinions on this.

Very insightful, thank you so much. I have put a lot of factors into consideration.

I have decided to use high windows, normal doors for the interiors and extra high doors for the entrance and exit doors.

1stNumeroUno:

I'll suggest you maintain common/standard door and windows throughout.
Though higher doors usually look pretty but I'm afraid it'll come with some issues considering artisans ignorance/negligence/incompetence (sometimes). If you're constructing the front/main door from welder you can shoot it.

But check if what you really want is more head room in the building, you can increase the course to 3 after lintel.

pman096:
Extra high doors when used in residential homes is mainly for the aesthetics, so using it at the entrance is would be nice but using it everywhere will incur more costs. If you're capable you can go for it as this will help your home standout aesthetically.

Thank you very much. I would do a costing and see if I can afford it.

Greeting fellow nairalanders and to the professionals viewing this topic.

I visited the site today and work is ongoing. I need advice from the professionals here.

I have decided to use extra height doors and windows, I just love how they look and the beauty it adds to your home.

1. Is it advisable to use it for all the doors or just for the entrance.
2. What is the advantage or the disadvantage of using extra high doors cause I know for sure it's already demanding for more blocks to get to the desired height.

Also the contractor told me he would be taking the lintel round the house to 11 course of blocks, and then 2 course above the lintel to the decking.

What's your advice on this as this is going to draw up extra costs for me.

Please I need your expert advice.

More pictures of work done this includes setting of block, sandfilling and German floor.

4 big trucks was used for the sand filling.
Again a batch mixer was used to pour the German floor.

By the grace of God, construction work is soon to continue if all things go well and we arent locked down again by the federal government due to the COVID-19 pandemic ravaging our country.

I would be providing also an expense report on jobs done and price quotations for future jobs, in a bid to avoid the contractor ripping me off.

I really hope I get all the help I need from everyone on here to make this build a success.

So far what was achieved in the first two weeks of work on site.

The site didn't need any form clearing as it was for some reason without grass due to the fact that it was a prayer ground, so I believe the traffic there wouldn't allow for grasses to grow.

Purchased materials to kick start the foundation
Iron rods
Cement
Sand
Granite
Wooden stakes,sticks,nails....

Foundation type: A type of foundation where the points of the columns are dug some feet below the concrete that carries the block wall, Dont know what it is called.

A concrete batch mixer was used to pour the foundation concrete. The contractor made this recommendation saying he wants the mix to be solid and uniform and for the foundation concrete to properly bond.

First time commenting on your threads sir. You have been an inspiration to me ever since I have been following and learning from threads. I had to comment on this particular project. Beautiful and structurally sound, in depth knowledge of structural engineering. You make us seem like we didn't go to school very well. God bless and continue to strengthen and provide jobs for you.

Wow. Read this story for two straight days on. Wow wow wow wow what a life. I thank God for you bro.

I once had the opportunity of writing funaab post utme den UNAAB stayed with my sis for a couple of months, Then forex trading was the order of the day, remembered the story of the richest student then in funaab and even Nigerian universities as a whole. Later started hearing of internet scams infiltrating the legitimate business of forex trading.

It is a sad story, but a happy one. The loss of your mother, nuella and a lot that happened. I glorify God in your life Gbade....

Lets not forget OBA DAVID AJAYI was installed as the first oloja of epe. He was liked by all because of his intelligence and his ability to interprete for the British. his reign was for 33 years. He died in 1978. He was the brother of bale sanusi, The bale of imagbon alade.

The history of epe's throne has always been incomplete, the ruling families have used money to try and erase the names of the other rulling families. Its saddening.

My name is PRINCE OLUMIDE ANTHONY AJAYI, son of PRINCE PAUL TUNDE AJAYI GREAT GRANDSON OF OBA DAVID AJAYI the first Oloja of EPE
