Me: Here you go (gave him my I-20 and passport
VO: You're going to study for a doctoral degree?
Me: Yes
VO: What's your travel experience?
Me: I have travelled to France, Finland and Germany
VO: For what?
Me: I travelled to France and Finland for my msc. I also did internship at two companies in France and Germany.
VO: He nodded his head and showed his friend who seem impressed. What did you study for your msc?
Me: Plant breeding.
VO: Very good. It's related to Horticultural science.
VO: (types for a long while...)
VO: ( gave me a white paper) I am approving your Visa. Your passport will be ready in one week. Do not transit through.... Bla bla bla (I couldn't hear him very well).
Me: Thank you. Have a nice day.

To be honest, I have read every transcript on this platform and prepared very well. But the interview was easier than expected.

You can fill a new ds-160 form (with abuja as the location) and then after completing, go to update profile on your cgi page and then replace the old ds-160 number with the new one you just filled. Then go back to your appointment confirmation page and print the new one that contains the updated ds-160

If you have completed and successfully submitted your DS-160, it can no longer be edited. You can only create a new application having another ID. Visit the DS-160 page, click on "retrieve an application", then proceed to click the "create a new application" icon.

If I want to update an information on my Ds-160 form, do I need to fill a new form? If yes, I guess I'll need to fill the new Ds-160 number on cgi page. Please how can I get a new appointment form that carries the new Ds-160 number.

I didn't put any call through. I sent an heartfelt message explaining my case on Sunday. I also supported my story with the necessary documents. I was admitted for Fall 2020 but deferred to this fall, so my case is kinda different.

Thanks for responding. I got my EA approved a couple of hours ago.

If you believe you can, kindly push for it. You can still meet up with this fall.

Has anyone that applied for emergency visa appointment (Abuja) between 10th and 15th of July gotten approval or denial response?

I placed a call through to the Abuja embassy yesterday and I was given a special number to call, since my complaint was about an emergency request for a NIV.

The guy at the other end crosschecked my profile and said my ER was still under review. I even told him about the urgency of my request, noting that I've to be present soon for GA duties and on the job training and can't defer any longer after deferring from Fall 2020. He said there's nothing that can be done and that I'll receive an email once it's approved or denied. Persuaded him with everything possible, yet he stood his ground.

The only thing left is just to keep waiting. There was no approval throughout last week due to the holidays(if I'm not wrong). They've probably started attending to emergency requests since yesterday. I saw November 2021 dates later yesternight.

I am supposed to resume a GA position and doctoral degree on 23rd August. Can anyone advice me on what to do or I should just keep waiting for their response?
