WHAT WILL BE THE EFFECT OF THIS. ON THE LONG AWAITED REPLACEMENT LIST OF NSCDC. NSCDC begins biometric data collection font size Print Email 22.Aug.2014 | DISQUS_COMMENTS | Yinka Oladoyinbo - Akure The Commandant-General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr Ade Abolurin, on Thursday, said the corps has already put in place measures to prevent ghost workers and fraud in its system. He said the corps had already started a biometric data collection exercise for its men and officers nationwide to aid proper documentation. Abolurin, who said this during an oversight visit to the Ondo State Command’s office in Akure, the state capital, added that the biometric data was part of improvement in the agency to help meet with the International Civil Defence Organisation Standard and global best practices. He said the first phase of the biometic would cover Oyo, Osun, Ondo, Kwara, Ogun, Ekiti, Kogi, Edo, states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) commands. According to him, the biometric data was an initiative of the NSCDC management to ensure standardisation in the system and also stop all forms of shortcomings. Apart from eliminating ghost workers, the new initiative, according to the Commandant General, would help in monitoring the performance and activities of its officers, while problems and challenges would be attended to without delay. He said “It will eliminate the problems associated with manual record keeping and fast track the process of interview for promotion, development course, seminar for training with names of officers that are due for such interview electronically collated and processed. It would also afford us the opportunity to access and evaluate the profile of personnel at glance”. “The data would allow for updating on all information regarding length of service, transfer/posting, promotion, course attended, skill acquired, health and other important information about each officer retrievable within a very short period”. Also speaking, t he State Commandant of the Corps, Andrew Igwe, said the initiative would further help develop the corps, assuring that officers in the state are ready to key into it. According to him, the biometric data would also help to lessen problems associated with officers undergoing stress, while reducing the burden and risk of carrying about certificates and other documents each time there is a verification exercise while individuals fingerprint would be used instead. Oersted: Finally, the CG has clear all doubt.Proposal have be forward to Ministry of Interior for more funding to enable us absorb thousands of volunteers.Reabsorbing our sack volunteers is a better alternative to embarking on the recruitment of new people, this were the exact words of Dr Ade John Abolurin(CG).This point down to one thing, before any recruitment, some people will be absorb and the CG only summitted proposal to absolve volunteers,no proposal for recruitment.Check this link@ oested ur on point. cos d game hz changed a bit. I min direct replacement of officers in cd is generating alot of dust, so dey want 2 do dat tru absorbtion of volunteers. some states i knw will be starting training for d so called volunteers by nxt week, 2b absorbed fully/ commence wrk by january 2014. |

Nobody is saying much again abt civil defence. Anyway my agent told me 2 snap 4 passports with civil defence uniform nd 2 copies with murfty, which i did. He said datz d only way i can be absorbed nw b4 d general replacement. So after some questions i put across 2 him, he said dat y i wz asked 2 use dia uniform 2 snap, is dat am coming in nw as a volunteer, cos volunteers would be considered b4 any genera replacement/ recruitment. Pls did anyone with a similar info frm his/her agent, if nt u can put call across 2 confirm dis, |

adekanmbi1986: Thanks for reminding me, I wasn't even refering to NSCDC and I don't have business there. Am talking of NIS. And if u also want NSCDC, I have a friend working directly with the Comm. Gen. Ade Abolurin that can easily assist u without paying.@ Adekanmi1986 you have answered my question by making me 2 knw ur nt referring 2 Nscdc. |
adekanmbi1986: Morning house. The first time I posted on this thread, some people insulted me that if am tired, I should leave them alone.. Here I am again, am not dealing with agent but am dealing directly with the Perm. Sec. of Interior Ministry and I can tell you that no list is coming out this month or next.@ Adekanbi 1986 is either ur bent on confusing pple or ur so called per sec is nt telling u d truth. May be, u cannot afford 2 pay him or he dont want 2 lose his slot just lyk dat. A list is xpected 2b released in Nscdc any moment frm nw, but in barges. Although he told me that, everything is expected to be concluded within this month of August hopefully. So, lets keep praying as you earlier said. |

Today: Jul 22, 2013 Sunset Newspaper Visitors Counter Civil Defence Jobs Sell for N 250,000 Civil Defence jobs sell for N250,000 JOAN OKPAGU The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in now enmeshed in high level employment bazaar with job openings being illicitly sold for as much as N250,000 each, Sunset can authoritatively reveal. Already, three officials of the organisation have been suspended from service for involvement in the bazaar as the Commandant General, Dr. Ade Abolurin, battles to clean up the employment list already compiled. Sunset investigation shows that the agency is currently engaged in the process of recruiting top level officers in an exercise the Corps refers to as ‘replacement’ instead of employment. Our findings indicate that some officials of the agency, who are close to its board, said to be the organ empowered to authenticate such replacements, have been selling top level opening at the Corp for upward of N250,000 each. The replacement bazaar is also said to have pitched some officers of the organisation against the Commandant General leading to the suspension of three officials, said to have been caught in the act. Sunset further gathered that even some junior level officers, who had wanted to use the opportunity to make some quick gains by seeking to buy slots for N50,000 each, had their deposits rejected. Sunset learnt that they were told it was N250,000 or nothing. Though Sunset gathered that brains behind the sales are not easily identifiable, leadership of the corps is however aware of the development. It was also gathered that Abolurin has been forced by the development to work through the past two weekends to clean up the replacement list and ensure that those on what was seen as prime list, were first accommodated. According to our findings, the Corp allegedly has a priority list containing favoured names from top Nigerians including traditional rulers and top civil servants. Sunset learnt that names of those who bought the offers dominated the list forcing the Commandant General to embark on a clean-up exercise. But Public Relations Officer of the Corps, Emmanuel Oke, said the story couldn’t have been true. According to him, the NSCDC is not employing and as such, not engaged in the sale of job openings. Though he confirmed that a process of replacement in on-going, Oke however said no one was commissioned to sell such openings at the corp. “We have been telling people not fall for any bastard that will come and ask them to bring money to get job in Civil Defence. We are not recruiting and because we are not recruiting, we did not commission anybody to collect money for us. The office of Commandant General can only recruit junior officers between level one and seven. Office of Commandant General cannot recruit anything above level eight and they must be graduates,” he said. Oke however blamed the on-going placement sales on mischief-makers saying “because of the mischievous nature of human beings they always want to deceive others; you discover a lot of scammers in town going around telling people that agencies are recruiting.” Add comment. |
Guyz xpect some good info from me later in the day,cos I was in touch with an officer of civil defence yesterday on the latest, he said they are in a meeting right away concerning the replacement(long awaited list) that I should call himm later in the evening. So lets hope the outcome will mark the end of our positive expectations. |
