same thing that happened to Argentina when they won the WC in 1990 then won the Copa America in 1993 and thereafter played in the WC1994 and lost miserably against yeye Romania in the 16th round. then in WC1998, they lost against Holland in the quarter finals and then n the WC2002, they didnt even get pass the group stage where the drew against Sweden and lost against England (same year that even France we were WC champions, and couldnt pass group stage).
again, as i told you, football aint mathematics... a team that wins today against another, can lose tomorrow against that very same team. it depends on many different variables, but there is a reason why the same teams comes over and over again at the top of the sheets (Germany, Brazil, Argentina, France, Italy, Spain etc).

sadly, as much as football is not mathematic, if you've watched Copa America matches these days, you will see that Argentina is on a different league playing against yeye teams like Chile/Peru and Canada. but if you watch Euro matches, some of these teams are tough. Slovenia who is virtually unknown in football is going head to head with some of the top teams... so as i said, its not that these top European teams are suddenly bad, its just that smaller European teams are getting better/stronger and more difficult to beat.

there is no question about the fact that Argentina is a great football team, but they certainly aint unbeatable as we can see from their WC track record: Germany trashed Argentina in the WC2010, Germany easily beat Argentina in the final of the WC 2014, France easily beat Argentina in the WC final of 2018... and in WC 2022 Argentina couldnt beat France after 120mins of football so it had to be decided upon the lottery of penalties. so again, when it matters, football is unpredictable but we all know who are the top teams...aka Germany, Brazil, Argentina and France...and close to the top we have Spain, Italy, England, Uruguay, Portugal (even though some may have had bad WC sometimes)

But your almighty Germany, Spain, Belgium could not survive the group stage when it comes to world stage. Portugal couldn't reach quarter final. How does that show how good they are?
