mrrandomguy:Sure. Yes you can. But maybe 3 months won't be bad. Safer rather. |
Hello house, is this thread still alive? I have some questions. |
Cypapi:Thanks baba. I appreciate. I also have been learning in this thread I must say. Nearly everything I know, I learnt from the wealth of experience of the gurus here. Thanks once again. |
justwise:@Justwise I quickly sort their email address and mailed them yesterday evening when I stumbled across this thread. That was around 3pm. Before then I was chatting with one of their customer care reps who referred me to their website for me to pick their contact email as she said she it wasn't in her power to effect changes. I attached a picture of the affected certificate and copied all the email addresses I saw relating to their national office in Nigeria and also the one in Accra. I am yet to get a response from their office to this regard. I just finished my authentications in Abuja Thursday and collected my translated copies Friday evening (yesterday). Now have booked my travel to Lagos for tomorrow so that I can have Monday to access what I have before proceeding for pre enrolment at the Consulate on Tuesday. |
justwise:@Justwise Thank you for this prompt response. EMEH-JOSHUA is my real surname while UGOCHUKWU is my first name. PEACE is my middle name. But on the certificate, my first name was silenced as an E. While surname was misspelt/ had an error as EMEJOSHUA. They didn't add the "H and -". The affidavit was issued by the High Court in Umuahia, Abia state, Nigeria and I traveled to Abuja to get it Authenticated at the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Good morning. |
@Justwise Good evening. I have been seeking solution to an issue I have and then I stumbled upon this thread. I have authenticated all my documents at the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs respectively in Abuja and have booked for pre enrolment and legalization at the Italian Consulate in Lagos. However, I am a little bit worried about my own case. In my WAEC certificate, my name was misspelt/ incomplete and I have been using it that way over the years (sat for the exam in 2003) but now, preparing to go for pre enrolment next week, I am now bothered. In my WAEC, my names were spelt as EMEJOSHUA U. PEACE instead of EMEH-JOSHUA UGOCHUKWU PEACE which are my names in full and are on my other documents including international passport. I have sworn an affidavit for correction of name which stated that the both names on the certificates refer to same person. I have also translated it to Italia and authenticated it at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please is this going to pose a threat to my application chances? I am going for an M.Sc in Global Environmental Change. Your response will he highly appreciated. |
chaiks:This is Chukwudi right? Well, pre enrolment is N19300. The cost of legalization isn't fixed. The more documents you want to legalize, the more the financial implication. You get? Like a lady I know pre enrolled and legalized just one document. Her NPC birth certificate. She paid 19300 for pre enrolment and then 11600 for the legalization. This doesn't mean that the cost is just N30,900. Do you understand? So for another, it may be higher than that depending on documents you need to legalize but for pre enrolment, its fixed at 19300. Hope this helps? Cheers. |
Delesta2015:Ask it here. We are all here to learn o. No one is an island of knowledge. Wetin I no sabi, another fit sabi. ![]() |
chaiks:I am not a Consular o. I know you even have the answer to this question but want someone to help you push you inside the fire.. Lol. |
Delesta2015:Big Yes. The center of excellence holds a lot of answers to what we are all pursuing. Write a letter to the Consulate in Lagos and request for an appointment for your pre enrolment and legalization. All the best my man. |
olumitya7:As bad is it may sound, it may be better to bear the pain and wait until WAEC releases your corrected results than being in a rush to bag a visa denial which may affect your future chances of not just pursuing an Italian Visa but a Schenge. I know this is never what you will want to hear but someone has to tell you the truth. Its painful, I agree. I see you want to further your studies. However, you will be making the job easier for those Consulate officers who are not in a hurry to issue you a visa. Think about this bro. Another admission year would soon be around the corner. Its painful. I agree but please take the pain. I wish you the best brother. |
chaiks:Yes. It still is. |
olumitya7:For Pre enrolment, its N19,300. However for legalization, it depends on the number of documents you want to legalize. However, I will advise you go with enough money. Legalization of Academic credentials are free, but the rest, you will need to pay for. Someone I know said she legalized her NPC Attestation of birth for N11,600. So if that's the cost, then multiply it the number of documents you will be going with (MINUS academic documents). That is what yours will be. However, also bear in mind to go with 1. Your form A (Pre enrolment form) duly filled, signed and with N19300. 2. 2 or more passport photographs 3. Your Admission letter. 4. Copy or international passport. 5. All authenticated and translated documents Good luck. |
maxi505:YES. Nah them dey do am nah. OUR Ministries only authenticate your certificates while you go ahead to translate them with a certified translator before now booking an appointment with the Consulate for pre enrolment and legalization... Abeg, make una try read previous Thread abeg. You guys are asking questions that have been asked and asked and asked from day one this thread began. Me sef don tire. Cheers. |
Suspect33:Please which part of Italy you dey Baba? |
maxi505:It is one of the crucial processes. So it is very necessary.... Don't miss it. However, if you don't meet up with the pre enrolment date of 24th July, 2019, you may have to wait for another academic session window to open. Unfortunately, most schools in Italy would not allow you to defer your admission, meaning that sadly you will have to reapply from the scratch... So the earlier the better guys. |
Vicoloo:I already did. Check your email. |
sirkezman:VFS's business is ONLY to receive your Visa Application when you apply. However, enrolment and legalization of your documents are done at the Italian consulate. Nothing concern VFS with that. Also, nothing concerns VFS if you choose to translate your documents or not. There own is just to receive visa applications and if you didn't do the right thing, then you will make it easier for them to deny you. Please, I will advise, 1. Authenticate your documents at the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs. 2. Translate those same documents authenticated with a translator. 3. Book for Pre enrolment and legalization at the Consulate in Lagos. 4. After that, that's when they will process your DOV. 5. Collect your legalized documents, assemble all other supporting documents needed for your Visa application (like proof of housing/ accommodation in Italy, sponsor's bank statement, etc. Get this list from their website). Note that at this stage, it is not COMPULSORY to translate these supporting documents. 6. Apply for your Visa and await the outcome. I wish us all good luck. Cheers. |
sirkezman:From testimonies I have read, translation is necessary if you must succeed to pass through the Consulate in Lagos. Also note that, Consulate and embassy are different entities. I stand to be corrected though. For the Consulate, you have to translate your documents and then they legalize it. While at the embassy, you do not need to. That's where you will add your bank statement, pay slips, letter of employment (if employed) and so on... |
tam95:Why not email your documents to the translator in Abuja and have it waybill it back to you when he is done? Last time I contacted Lagos, they told me that they were booked all through July. I had to travel all the way to Abuja to authenticate my documents and then see a translator same time. This was late May 2019. However, the translator in Abuja(who once worked with the Italian Consulate for 16 years before retiring) is gradually becoming occupied with work. As at then, he said my documents will be ready for pick up mid June. He works in a first pay first served basis and not first come first served as he showed me a lot of documents he pushed aside before queuing mine up cos the owners never paid or committed him to show seriousness. His name is Mr. Oluga. Cheers |
tam95:What you will do is Evaluation of your academic qualifications at the Ministry of Education and that of Foreign Affairs as against Authentication. Authentication is for degrees gotten in Nigeria while Evaluation is for degrees gotten abroad. Hope this helps? Cheers. |
Xeedorf: editorAA:Yes. Documentation lacks credibility because 6 months ago, you were worth 700k. However, now you are with 8M in 6months.. That's enough to raise suspicion if you ask me. My thinking though. Its a common sense thing. |

dedibuu:I don't really have an answer to this tjouhj. However, last year my friend shown his dad's account balance of 1.5M naira and he got his visa approved. Also on this platform, someone said he provided a bank statement of 8M or so but was still denied. I may not know categorically what the embassies check out for sha, however, I will advise you have money enough to show u can carter for your fees, living expenses including feeding, flight and so on AT LEAST for the first one year.. I stand to be corrected anyway.. Hope this helps? Good luck |
Ernestkels:A very big YES. However, since you want to study in Europe, I will advise you take proactive steps by first authenticating your documents at the Ministries of Education and then Foreign Affairs. That way, once your admission is out, you will then be left to battle with TRANSLATION of your documents before you book your appointment for LEGALIZATION . Hope this helps? Cheers. |
Papuzzy:There is an email they dedicated for legalization matters. Use it to mail them. You should get an appointment in form of a reply in 3 days. Meanwhile, all these info has been posted recently before. Check check and check... Cheers. |
Pyrene:Sorry to reply this late. I replied earlier but Nairaland Admins blocked me off cos I provided the consulate's email address for queries about legalization. However to book an appointment with the consulate for legalization, kindly send them a mail requesting for an appointment. I can't post the mail again make them no ban me las las. Cheers |
dedibuu:Hello Dedibuu, I had this challenge and I contacted the embassy to ask cos all their official translators I contacted were all booked through out July. However, the embassy replied stating that I could use any translator of my choice as long as the vital information's are not omitted. So I think this answers your question. |
Chai. Admin blocked me from responding to posts here. It was such a painful experience o to be restricted just cos I posted the consulate email for booking of legalization appointment. Well could to be back. I will respond to queries the much I know soon. On my way to hike at the Madalla hills Abuja. Will respond from there. |
