Yinka Ayefele, a musician, says the meeting with Abiola Ajimobi, governor of Oyo state, on Thursday was more or less a set-up by the governor’s team. In an interview with PUNCH,the musician said he demanded a private meeting with the governor but was shocked when pictures of his team and that of the governor surfaced online a few minutes into the meeting. The pictures drew the ire of Ayefele’s supporters who felt he succumbed to begging over the demolition of his Music House by the government. But the musician, who spoke through David Ajiboye, his publicist, said he had to come to the public to set the records straight. Ajiboye said Ajimobi told them that he could have saved the situation if only they had come to beg him. "On Thursday, we were at a meeting organised by the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON) at Golden Tulip when we got a call from one of the governorship aspirants in the state. He told us that the governor would like to see us,” he said. “I was at the BON meeting with Yinka Ayefele and his younger brother. We felt that since they were the ones that invited us, we should honour the governor’s call; so we excused ourselves from the BON meeting and went to the governor’s office. “We got there at about 12pm but the governor did not get to his office till about 4pm. We did not leave the governor ’s office until about 7pm. I was at the meeting with Yinka Ayefele and his younger brother. “When the governor came into the office, we all prostrated to greet him being that he is older than us and we told them that we did not want cameras. We wanted a closed-door meeting with the governor so he asked the pressmen to excuse us but his private photographer did not leave the room. We noticed that while we were talking with the governor, the photographer was taking our pictures and uploading them on their Twitter handle immediately.“ The governor later invited his team to come and join us in the meeting; his team comprised the commissioner for information, a governorship aspirant in the state and about four special assistants. The governor told us his grievances. He told us that he could have saved the situation if only we had come to see him. He felt we ought to have come to beg him, and our chairman, Yinka Ayefele, pointed it out that we had since told the commissioner for information to book an appointment with the governor . He further said that he called the SSG to help him book an appointment with the governor even before this incident happened and the commissioner corroborated his claims but said that the governor was unavailable at the time.” Ajiboye said role of traditional rulers in the meeting was a coincidence as they were in the governor’s office as of the time Ayefele and Ajimobi met. "Coincidentally, there were about ten monarchs who were also waiting to see the governor as at the time we were waiting for him,” he said. “They were led by the alaafin of Oyo; so when the obas saw Ayefele, they decided to rally round him. After they had met with the governor, they came back to meet Ayefele and possibly plead on his behalf to the governor. “That was when they allowed the cameramen to enter and we felt it was more or less a set-up because we wanted a close -door meeting. We did not want cameras but there was nothing we could do because we were at the governor ’s office. “The monarchs appealed to the governor to help Ayefele rebuild the music house. After the monarchs left, the governor also left us with his team and told us to iron things out with them. They claimed that they wrote several letters to us but that we ignored them; they went ahead to say that we did not have a certificate of occupancy for the building and we showed them all the proof. "They all agreed except one commissioner who said that we have to do damage control because we have dented his personality and that of Oyo state government. We had to tell him that it was beyond us because we did not ask people to abuse their government. If they had not demolished the Music House, people would not lay curses on the government. “That was what happened at the meeting. The governor’s team said they would get across to the governor on Thursday night to brief him and they would get back to us. We would wait for what the outcome of their meeting with the governor would be. We are not taking any position now.” https://www.thecable.ng/ayefele-ajimobi-said-he-would-have-prevented-the-demolition-if-we-had-begged-him?_e_pi_=7%2CPAGE_ID10%2C7732101161

You're a scammer. You came here to upload random slips of different users. I dare you to post slips from the same account and also show your winnings from your so called fixed. You know the curse will not work, if it does, our politicians ought to have died of curses. I've seen a scammer on telegram who cursed himself not to see tomorrow if he scammed people. But he is a scammer and still alive scamming people. |
This further shows that the earlier claim by TSTV that they had an agreement with beIN Sport was not true. Or what's the need to sign another contract with Fox when beIN sports shows virtually all any football match? No wonder they were blocked by beIN when they aired arsenal's UEL match last season. Hoping they get it right this time around. |
ednut1:Thanks for this picture, couldn't remember the match but I knew it was uefa cup match they aired illegally which saw them blocked by beIN sport but TSTV and their agents in their usual lies and deceits said their systems were hacked. It is gullible Nigerians I blame. |
These TSTV guys aren't serious, they are only using emotion and lies to try market their products. isn't in this same competitions we are having kwese, start times who are already buying some rights away from DSTV? TSTV thought they could air all these leagues illegally by cutting corners, they didn't tell us how BEin sports blocked them when they showed one uefa cup match illegally last season? If they have contract with BEin sport as they claim, why can't they start showing all this while they were doing test transmission? Where exactly are enemies fighting TSTV? Is to to come live? NO, as they had been broadcasting free to air for months before they left? Is it to broadcast matches? If kwese and star times can buy rights of some league and matches and DSTV can't stop them, why will DSTzv stop TSTV when they can't stop kwese and the rest? TSTV, just like APC has been living on lies and deceiving Nigerians, looking for one to hold responsible for their failures. HAVE WE ALL SO FORGOTTEN SO SOON THE LIES TSTV DISHED OUT WHEN BEIN BLOCKED THEM THAT THEY WERE AIRING A MATCH ILLEGALLY? TSTV LIED ABOUT BEING HACKED, WHY HAVE THEY REFUSED TO AIR MATCHES SINCE THEN FROM BEIN SPORT? THEY ALSO PROMISED WC MATCHES, BUT HAD TO JOIN KWES AND NTA TO SHOW FEW AND SELECTED WC MATCHES AND WENT OFF AIR BEFORE WC ENDED |
TabletMan:Which one is legacy of Wenger, didn't Emery have enough time to reinforce any department of the team? and fortunately, most of our defenders weren't playing at World cup so he had time to assess their abilities. |

Hello, I need about $200 skrill from a reliable exchanger at a good rate. Thanks |
3RNEST:Hello house, is this man reliable please? Thanks |
hannysur8:LOL, he is a member of APGA from osun but got elected as a Rep on APC platform and even became a deputy speaker. He also contested last osun guber primary in APC as an APGA member. |
When this ugly development attracts public and international condemnation like yesterday's show of shame at NASS, they will say it was Saraki that planned it again to embarrass Buhari and APC |
sureheaven:LOL, this is coming from someone supporting thuggery acts from oshiomole and APC. Do you know the national shame yesterday's NASS invasion by DSS brought to Nigeria? It is people like you who destroy our names instead of doing the right thing. Are you telling the world that blocking another arm of govt with DSS because you want to illegally remove the SP is the right thing to do? You and APC may not like Saraki being the SP, but the fact you can't deny is that he ticked every constitutional and legal boxes to get the position, and as thus, constitutional means must be followed to remove him. I'm not Saraki apologist but will not encourage thuggery from you people. Get your constitutional 2/3 votes, lobby with opposition if possible to remove Saraki. Saraki lobbied with opposition to become the SP, do same, stop these shameful acts of NASS invasion. The reason Saraki keeps outsmarting you guys is that you rely solely on breaking laws and thuggery to achieve your aims while he knows how to make use of the law to achieve his own aim. |
sureheaven:LOL, you said he planned a coup by aligning with PDP senators, that is what APC should be doing if they are wise. They should lobby with opposition members to get the 2/3 votes to remove Saraki instead of these acts of thuggery which are even shameful such that they themselves are denying their actions like NASS invasion. Saraki was smarter than APC by making sure he lobbied and didn't get the SP position in a kangaroo way, that explains why APC couldn't challenge his emergence as SP in a court. Did Sarak ask other senators to be in another meeting when senate had been scheduled to convene for election. Hadn't date and time been fixed for house to convene? Why did they have to be in another meeting at the same time? How was Saraki's responsible for this? Didn't Saraki get the needed numbers of senators necessary to form a quorum even while others were at another meeting? Didn't Saraki get the major votes (infact, he was selected unopposed to emerge as SP)? You may not like Saraki emerging as SP, but he got it legally and constitutionally, not by act of thuggery. Apc as a part should also learn from Saraki to lobby and get constituted numbers if they want to remove him legally. |
sureheaven:LOL, you're ignorant of the law. He doesnt need 2/3 to be an SP, but major votes. But 2/3 votes will be needed to remove him. It is what the law says and APC or no party will rewrite or abandon our laws for us to suit themselves. This was the same law that protected Tambuwal after he defected as a speaker to APC because PDP couldn't have the 2/3 votes to remove him. You can't. just remove a speaker or SP because you're aggrieved unless you have the constituted number to do that. Good day. |
sureheaven:Let me educate you, Minority leader is a position for the minority party in the house. Akpabio resigned because he is leaving the pdp for APC. He can't be a minority leader while he is a member of majority party and also vice versa. As for Saraki, the position of SP is open to anyone as elected by the members of the assembly. A member of minority can be a SP if he gets the required votes. There is no law that says SP must be from a majority party. Having said that, if majority party feels uncomfortable with Saraki or any member of minority being an elected SP, they can remove/impeach if they can get 2/3 votes of all the elected members. Good day |
gen2briz:These people and others that tweeted the ugly attempted rape on our democracy are the real heroes. You ended to be on the tweeter to see that Osinbajo was wholly being attacked for that invasion. The heat got to him, hence the sack of DSS DG to save his integrity. |
If there was no outrage, the rape would have stood. Two coup attempts by executive using our security outfits in less than a month failed |
Adakintroy:LOL, you think you're smarter than the mentioned billionaires? Do you know how much it is to buy only EPL right? Why has Tinubu's Sattelite service not rivalled and beaten DSTV. Beating DSTV won't be a child's game. Even if DSTV is sent away from Nigeria, who will buy the EPL right for us to enjoy? |
asuustrike2009:TSTV has been off air since June 25 or so, no longer operating and no info from them to their subscribers. Seems they have finally bowed out. |
Belluchii:Same people whose support was needed before Buhari could win in 2015? Welcome political analysts. I don't know how someone in his unbiased mind would see this as a strength to APC when they are losing more members like Govs, Reps, Senators, Ambassadors to direct opposition. Anyway, this is for you.
|
hannysur8:This is for people like you.
|
Silvermoney:Thanks for this further enlightenment, God bless you. |
Felixv:The exact two things I have in plan for my son when he grows up; mechanic apprenticeship or computer coding/programming. No summer lesson for my kids, na time for skill acquisitions |
