Felicity0001: I keep wondering how you think its ok for a driver to rent @15k or 20k when social gatherings, religious, schools, senior government workers, Int'A and most offices are still under locks and keys with some going into extinction.
Most importantly, drivers have restricted time to work which is from 6am to 9pm. Dont believe that 4am to 10pm scam, I'm yet to c a driver that goes online everyday at 4am.
Guy have you been driving these period? Have you seen the traffic situation in lagos lately? How many Long distance trip can a driver do in a do? The other Saturday I did just 1 trip because of traffic, from Agege to Gbagada the trip ended N7+ I spent over 2k on fuel.
Do I need to remind you that uber is charging drivers 25% flat rate? With no incentives and no promotion??
I'm sure you're also aware drivers are responsible for hazard fee like lasma, police, touts, soldier and "my car" while most drivers share repairs and services is on them, part from some of us that are fortunate to have owners partners that does everything 100% My last week total earning was around N30k to 37k as i was buying fuel I was demanding for receipt to keep tract of my fuel spending and at the end of last week I notice I spent a total sum of 14k on fuel. Lets assume no hazard payment and I'm renting at 15k or 20k how much would be left for me, my wife and kids.
Guy, abeg stop it oh!!! 20k ke 1. I didn't say 20k, I said 20-15k. 2. If you feel my weekly remittance range of 20-15k I gave the car owner was quite bad, how much would u have had me recommend for him on his car? 10k or 5k? Like I advised in the post you quoted, it is advisable for every car owner to keep their cars for now. It is just like giving the cars to the Drivers to earn for themselves alone. So if you're a car owner, would u accept 10k weekly rather than keeping your car at home? |

Felicity0001: It is what It is. I've warn us about using the ikoyi link bridge b4 and how using the etag or any of the toll gates don't count, reason I stopped using that link bridge and using my tag as well because you won't be issued a receipt.
Dont be disappointed with the response from uber it's a normal thing and due process to take.
You don't expect your office to pay for any expenses that has no receipt.
Another thing is, the lekki-epe toll gate charges N230 or there about while the Ikoyi link toll charges N335 or so where as the rider pays N200 and N300 respectively. Meaning you're looking 2-3 toll pass in every N5000 recharge you do.
What then is the need for using an etag or ecard when one is paying commission from his pocket. Nigeria is governed by i*dio*ts. They want to go cashless by introducing etag but they are charging etag users more than cash? How does this encourage etag adoption? |

noobs123: Pls hire purchase or just leasing out which is better? I want to invest in it for a driver. Hold your money this period of corona. Na story go end am. Many Drivers are struggling to deliver 15-20k weekly. For HP; Will you be okay to invest millions on a car and get 15-20k weekly on ur investment? Bear in mind that the driver might fail to remit in some weeks due to one issue or the other with the car couple slow market. For Leasing/Rental; You Will be responsible for repairs on the car. Are you cool with 15-20k weekly pay while you will still be responsible for repairs? Can your income on that car be enough when major repairs stare at you on the face? Keep your money and stay away from ehailing business this period until all commercial activities fully return, unless you're cool with 15-20k. The job majorly favours car owners this period. Good luck |

Olayetan: He needs advice Which advice does he want? If he's sure of the claim about her father and the girl, not everyone that offers to help is a ritualist. From the story, 50k salary is obviously better than what he earns on ehailing in this period. I seriously dont understand what he needs advice for. Is he afraid of working with the girl because her father is rich? He can always go back to ehailing if he fails with the lady. He never can tell what future has for him working with the lady. In everything, he should just be careful and always be cautious. |

igwedehxy: So I staryed my day off at MM2 airport as directed by uber, paid toll #200 and parking #750. While waiting, a trip came in, I accepted, Rider said she is in Abuja but she is requesting for her business partner who is on his was to Lagos.
She asked if Uber goes to Ibadan. I said yes. I thought of it, doing an online trip won't pay me. So I negotiated offline and later agreed 15k. I waited for another hour before my rider's flight arrived. Unfortunately I was at the wrong place. Had to drive back to MM1 domestic wing and kept going round in circle so as to avoid those guys that toll vehicles. I eventually opted to use their car park #400 (so I can better search for my rider). I eventually found him 6secs after parking.
Spent 3k fueling my car on my way to Ibadan. I had to fuel 2k on my way back to Lagos (blew empty).
Now let's do the math.
750+200+200+400+3000+2,500 = #7,050
15,000 - 7,050=# 7,950
I cried when I did this calculation. I suffered today sha. Cried over almost 8k profit? Could u have made that in lagos today? And if your car doesn't gulp fuel, you should be having about 2k worth of fuel after arriving lagos from the 5500 fuel you bought to and fro. |

Gentlelife50: Not true Bro, you didn't agree the price irrespective of how long the trip will take . They work with current road conditions when calculating fares, so if you take the trip and it took much longer than expected to complete it the rider is suppose to be considerate otherwise he or she is just being wicked. Simple, if he had begged the driver and truly don't have anything to add it's understandable but insisting on what was initially agreed means the rider is simply being insensitive and that's wickedness. I ask again assuming it took you the whole day to complete the trip nkor? Probably because the road were totally blocked, so the rider will say because it's indriver he will still pay what was agreed initially? Haba Do You take the normal price when you take riders on 4x surge? U argued road might probably be free when the request was made before the gridlock was built, do u also know same scenario happens when riderd make request in sure period which might be 2-4x but might have been at normal price if the same request is made just a moment later? We cant win All. You can call a rider who gives tips to compensate a driver for experiencing gridlock kind but I think it is unfair calling a rider who agrees to pay actual amount wicked. That's just how indriver is made to operate, there is no provision for rider to compensate drivers for any gridlock experience. |

prosperofficial: Men, my spirit is already weak with all the feedbacks I have received so far... What if I return the car and he decides not to buy the lower model 06? Remember he bought this one himself, besides, once I resume at my office, I will repay with my salary for as long as I can! But from all the feedbacks, I now understand 2010 model is just not for ehailing business at least in Lagos. Hey bro! Nothing is wrong with that car, it is as good and rugged as 03-06 Corolla, except the parts may be a lil costlier. People are using 2010 Camry for this hustle. I am only concerned about the cost your bro might give it out to u but I'm sure he will be lenient with you since he's offering the car to you as a help and you have a job to supplement with uber. Since you have a job already, this car is perfect for you than the regular Corolla on the street. You won't regret using this car instead of 03-06 Corolla which has already been branded as uber car. I will go for a good naija used 10 Corolla than tokunbo 03-06 ones at the same price. Please take the car with all joy and enjoy your ride majestically. |

NawtieNerd: Hello bosses, I want to start an Uber business in Lagos. I already have a driver in mind. Please what is the current average weekly delivery in Lagos. I don't want give my driver an amount that would leave him with nothing at the end of the week or where he will be struggling to pay and I also want to avoid a situation where I am being shortchanged.
Thank you all in advance Hmmmm. Only 20-15k is realistic this period. I will advise anyone putting his car into this biz in this period as a form of investment to hold on unless you're helping your driver out with that car just to earn a living |

Gentlelife50: You say? If not wickedness what is it? Kindness? Assuming it take the whole day the rider have to still insist on the amount agreed at the start? Na waoo What happened to fellow feeling? Well if the rider doesn't want to add something just move on, this life no balance. Still not wickedness bro. It is at the rider's discretion to add lil money to it or not, but if he doesn't, for one reason or the other, I dont see it as wickedness. That's how indriver operates, you agree to the fare irrespective of how long the trip takes. Do riders complain for paying 4x the normal price on surge and call drivers wicked for collecting such amount? |

davit: Some riders are just wicked. Carried one from Agungi today to Fagba side. 3 hrs journey. Even had to go follow airport road cos of traffic. Paid extra toll gate. Rider insisted she wont pay me more than the agreed fare. It was on Indriver. Local man just weak. . Sincerely, cant see that as wickedness. It was a trip with an initially agreed amount. |

Frankjanet: Okay sir, so u don't advice Camry 2007-2009 Or Corolla 2010 or Camry 2010?... I don't like Corolla 2004-2007 bcus of d size If you can find 09/10 Corolla, people use it. Also, 07-09/10 camry is still okay. Someone even uses 10 camry sport for uber full time. But I will recommend 09/10 corolla because of smaller engine, which might mean relatively better fuel economy, not that 07-10 Camry are bad also. You can literally use any toyota or Honda car provided it is in good state and you give it proper maintenance, and you're going to be driving it yourself. Good luck. |

eyinola: na so e dey chop fuel reach? Na only 04 -07 Corolla no dey chop fuel? Fuel consumption is always exaggerated. If there is no problem with a car, any 4-plug car fuel consumption cant be overbearing. I've seen people using honda accord 05 with a bigger engine for this hustle. Why will 10 Corolla fuel consumption be worse than big daddy or camry muscle with bigger engine, which some people still use for this biz |

prosperofficial: Hello guys, good morning. Please I need advice, I asked my brother to help me with a car to use as Uber business, the car will serve as a loan to be repaid within a stipulated time. My challenge is that instead of the regular 2004 - 2006 Toyota Corolla, he bought the 2010 for me. Please is this car too fragile for the Uber business, what are the pros and cons of using this car? Thank you all I've not heard of any problem with this year model except their parts and engine might be costlier than the 03-06 type. Your bro getting u 03-06 would have seen you settling the payments sooner than this year model, since it is coming as a loan. This car goes well over 2m in the market, with HP offer, it's not gonna be less than 3m. I love 09 upward Corolla but I cant get it for uber due to the price and the discouraging low fares on this biz except I get it as a naija used at a good state and quite low price Enjoy your ride, it is cute. |

And what returns per week should i realistically be expecting If You're venturing in ehailing mainly as investment, it is advisable you hold on for now till everything stabilizes, but if your main reason is to help your local bro, you can go ahead. It might be hard to consistently remit 25k this period. Expect 20-15k remittance. Please Don't invest too much on a car for this job, the fares are shitty now. Good luck. |
