There’s this girl I have been dating for a couple of months now, we are planning on settling down soon. Well I was able to save up to write PLAB.
The depression is multi-factorial. Things like the weather, work stress (increased scrutiny, especially for foreign doctors), and an environment where everyone minds their business, so lack of socializing, can weigh one down, especially for an extrovert like me. Unfortunately things are not rosy on the home front either (resolve any relationship issues you have before you japa), so there's no "cushion" to relax on after a very hectic day, and it piles up.
I'm working towards striking a balance though. Finding more positives to cancel out the negatives. So things like sports, exercise, church, making new friends and reconnection with old ones who have also migrated etc. Still got a long way to go before I say I'm a happy man, but I'm getting there.

When I read a report about American universities, they cost high because they are trying to compete with other universities. These compels them to upgrade themselves which further increases their costs. A lot of these upgrades are unnecessary as the report mentioned. College fees are growing faster than inflation. It is ridiculous.

$300-400k for med school is 100% worth it. They are guarantee high paying jobs upon graduation and will fetch much higher once they choose to specialise.

My brother's friend who is a doctor earns $400 an hour as a consultant.

I have a younger brother who is a doctor too. He is a specialist in a very rare anaesthetist field. One time, he was the only black doctor in a US state in that field. My brother stingy die, even my brother friend.
