While I believe he has a right of opinions and decision, I believe also in equity and fairness. More of why I decided to ignore his insulting post. I doubt if he writes, or a good one at that because no sane, good, thinking and reading writer will accept an offer of #200 for a 1000word article. I know how unemployment has eaten into Nigeria so I'm not surprised he received PMs. Of course he will accept any article, as long as its 1000 jargon-filled words. ![]() If I got 5k for an article of less than 400 words, then he simply cannot afford me as he said. I'm a blogger too and I have my writing team, so niftyrules, just free the guy. One naira per word would be logical. |
You are not you 1. Shrouds from the darkest hell, Clouds over the starry goodness, Hateful torture follows spits, No puncture to her pride's skirts, The strides of dementia, Ploughed the steps of Demetria, Then reality struck in awe, This is not demetria. This is not you, To eat my heart wickedly, Stab me on silently, I shoulda watched my back, The person I knew is gone, Here in lies the devil's double, In prayerful words I speak, That till this madness breaks free, You're not you. 2. I'm breaking to shreds and sinking, This beastly stare terrifies, I'm standing on the brink, Strange crossbones, black ringed eyes, The demon cut loose once more, Strange spirit bites my mind, Black and white, purple or blue, This is not just a nightmare, Bridge Break it off and let it go, My tearline begs trail apart, If this is a joke, I'm not smiling, Until the lion breaks off teeth, And the demon sleep in white, I'm gonna watch from the distance, And wait till you come to realize, This is not you, To eat my heart wickedly, Stab me on silently, I shoulda watched my back, The person I knew is gone, Here in lies the devil's double, In prayerful words I speak, That till this madness breaks free, You're not you. #Altarboy |

How to Keep any Relationship Healthy By: Cucan Pemo With all of the advice out there on how to rebuild your relationship, why not look at tips to keep your already healthy relationship in tact? There are plenty of things that you should avoid in order to make your relationship with your wife or girlfriend from unnecessary miscommunication as well as arguments. In fact, these tips can help you in every relationship that you have - read on. DON'T be right all the time There's nothing more frustrating in a relationship than a person who insists that they are always right. No one is right all of the time, and it's time that you realized that. It takes a much stronger person to admit that they were wrong than it is for someone to not admit that they may have made a mistake. Don't be the know it all. DON'T refuse to apologize You will have something that you need to apologize for at some point, even if you don't think that it's a big deal. When you allow your partner to hear that you are sorry about something, you allow them to see that you are willing to move past something in order to have a healthier relationship. And even if you don't think that you are wrong, apologizing is a great way to start fixing the situation instead of making it worse. DON'T know the other person better than they know themselves If you've ever been in a fight or a discussion when another person has claimed to know what you want, doesn't that feel upsetting? You want to avoid doggedly trying to prove that you know more about the other person than they do - because that just isn't the case. Take the time to consider their feelings and thoughts when they tell them to you. To not let them have a say is to make the conversation one sided. DON'T assume anything When you start to assume something, you start to chip away at the truth. IF you want to know about something, the other person is going to have to tell you what you need to know. Assuming that someone feels a certain way or that they want you to do a certain thing is only going to set you up for possible problems. Assuming is really just guessing. DON'T rub it in If you do find out that you are right about something, you don't want to constantly rub the fact in long after the discussion is over. Your relationship isn't about someone being right; it's about the two of you being happy. If you're right, you're right, but then you need to move on. Your partner will not appreciate being reminded that they were wrong. DON'T put your priorities first While you both want to have your needs and wants addressed, when you try to focus more on your own needs than your partner's needs, you will be seen as selfish and uncaring. A relationship means that you are putting someone else's needs before your own, and in doing so, allowing your needs to be fulfilled as well. Seek out their needs to see how you can compromise to make both of you happy. DON'T interrupt them When you're trying to make a point, you might feel that your words are more important than theirs, but this is not helpful. If you are interrupting what someone else is saying all the time, two things happen: one, you're not hearing what they are saying, and two, you are showing that your opinions are more important than theirs. Instead, stop yourself and make a mental note to bring up your point when they are finished. DON'T make promises you can't keep You aren't going to be perfect, but when someone is counting on you to help maintain a good relationship; you need to be able to hold up your part of the bargain. This means that you need to be able to make promises that you can keep. And when you do make a promise to someone, they need to be able to expect that you will follow through - every time. If you can't make a promise, then let them know that you will try your hardest, but that you can not promise it. This allows them to have realistic expectations of you. No relationship is perfect, but there are plenty of ways that you can keep it from becoming unhealthy. |

Village Menace (9th episode) Moonlight quickly settled over the night, and cool breeze blew all over. The birds in the trees just wouldn't rest their tongues as they sang their eerie solos continuously on top of their voices, blending with the resonating laughter of the forest beasts. Never before in my life have I seen anything so gross. The hunger was killing me, but I'd rather go hungry than eat such a stinking meal. When I continued to hesitate, he balled one of his fists and and pointed at me menacingly. Slowly and reluctantly, I drew the calabash-full of gross terror closer with the tip with my fingers, careful to make sure my palm was not stained. With my other hand, I held on to my nose tightly to avoid breathing in the stench emanating from it. My face contorted uglily like someone forced to share a kiss with a leper, and it twitched sideways. My captors opened their mouths widely again, laughing in derision at the mini-drama being acted before them. Knowing my survival depended on eating the content, I had no option than to consume the disgusting meal. When a stubborn sheep takes to visiting the dog, he will have to eat dung and bones. Slowly and barely touching, I took a maggot and tasted, a pus-like liquid bursted out of it with a disgusting taste. I coughed several times, opening my mouth wide and gasping for breath. Slowly I consumed all the maggots, my stomach rumbling in revolt at the unpalatable food it was being fed. After eating that, I turned away from the meal, and announced I was satisfied. They all laughed again, and their leader shouted, "You will have to eat everything in that calabash, even to the last drop." On hearing that, I bursted into tears, crying out in despair. He threw me a really furious look, and he growled loudly. Immediately I dipped my hands into the calabash, closed my eyes tightly and picked whatever my hand laid on. Without a second thought, I dipped it into my mouth and munched on it. I did that continuously until I could no longer feel anything in the calabash again, and then slowly I opened my eyes. I released my nose and breathed in fresh air with relief. Seeing I was through with their meal, he called out to them, "bring him a refreshing drink." One of them quickly rushed into one of the sheds and brought out another calabash, much smaller than the first. He collected it and handed it over to me. "It was made out of snake's urine, toad's saliva and fish blood," he explained. I winced in pain and spat out in anger, muttering a curse under my breath, but a look at his mean eyes sent shivers to my spine. Obediently, I closed my eyes again, held onto my nose, and slowly drowned the content. They all started clapping thunderously, hailing, screaming and stamping their foot that I felt the ground beneath vibrating with the rhythm. Their leader silenced them with a wave of his hand and said, "Well done, you have now been initiated into the council of the forest beasts." |
SAZZYSKOLY:Eyah. I've experienced that too. Got me writing seriously. |
SAZZYSKOLY:Lol. Haba. You must av felt really bad when she left. |
Qmab:They are and thanks for the compliment. I do encourage originality at all time for as cool as this writeup may be, it won't work for everyone. You may get ideas from this and many others to write your own apology though, its allowed. |
Midehi:Exactly. Bottom line, the guy should not be stingy, and the lady should appreciate and even understand when the guy is broke. And reply my pm too, Midehi |

Village menace (8th episode) Hearing that, I felt a heavy stone taken off my heart, and my racing heartbeat slowed down and returned to normal. I heaved a sigh of relief, patting my chest soothingly. My head itself felt light like a heavy log had just been taken off it. The excitement and thought of seeing my family and eating my mother's palatable meals again made my mouth drool. I prostrated flatly, muttering words of gratitude as the terror in their presence alone had taken away my voice. It seems the cockroach has finally found favour in the hen's sight, and they can now go to village meetings together. He readjusted on the trunk he sat on and continued. "We were not always evil, people made us into what we are," he said, his eyes drooping as if to show remorse. He continued his story, adjusting his position again, his third eye rotating with each word he said. ''Before we came to live in the forest, we lived among the people, helping them with manual labours and protecting their properties, and they in turn provided shelter and food for us. After a while, they started fearing us, and thinking we will one day bring harm, they waged a war and nearly wiped us out. Only a few of us were able to escape the claws of demise and seek refuge in the forest." As he told his story, I started wondering what his true intentions were for deciding not to kill me. Several ideas flew through my mind but none of them made enough sense to me. I jerked at the thought that they may actually want a human companion, or probably take me as an hostage. Either ways, none was going to be a palatable experience for me. The thoughts beclouded my mind that the rest of his tale sounded like a lizard's shout to me. The leader stood up on his foot with a loud thud, snapped me out of oblivion and asked me which family I came from. I only looked on like a ram that had just been saved from the ritual shrine, batting my eyelid as a child caught stealing from his mother's pot. He moved closer and lifted me up like feather into the air, bringing me closer to his face and observing me. My heart failed me again, and I stared on at him pitiably like a rat caught in the lion's claw. Pangs of hunger started hitting me furiously and I flinched in his hands. After looking curiously at me, as if he could see through and read my mind, he told his subjects to bring food, guessing I was probably hungry. In minutes, a big calabash was placed before me, covered with leaves. Instantly, like a starved rat, I removed the cover and immediately felt my stomach rumble, the worms of my stomach throwing a tantrum at the sight before me, and I shifted backwards. Prepared for me in the calabash were brown maggots big enough to swallow a rat, fresh intestines, a snake's head, and a dead tortoise. Nauseous feeling gripped my inners and I threw up the leftover of the morning meal. Suddenly, as if possessed by stubborn evil spirits, they started laughing mockingly, their voice resonating throughout the forest trees. "You will have to eat this, if you ever want to make it out alive!" He growled, spits from his mouth hitting me squarely in the face. |

Hmmm, Estelle. Nice name. Thanks. What's your state? I wanna know you. Don't mind me, I like meeting people. its my hobby. It helps me cope with life. Lol.
