meccuno: well....we all know who and who wrecked Nigeria......1966 - 1970 was a period of 4 years which Nigeria went through crises......but 1970-1999 is equally a longer period of time which the Northerners and the South westerners were in power......they had the chance to make it right.....one thing you should understand is that you have a leader from a tribe is one thing.....and you have the workers who are from a particular tribe is another thing.......e.g former minister of aviation.....there were so many things that happened in the aviation sector which probably most of you didn't know about but that's for another day........you have whatever notions as fact and I am not here to either change ur beliefs.....you can live with it......what caught my fancy was when you said "South westerns will never support their own son who has been found guilty on corruption charges"........what was awolowo convicted for? And what were the allegations labelled against abiola which FELA of blessed memory sang about? To the best of my knowledge, these two men are gods in the SW.......so I don't know what you are talking about You reason like a kindergarten and this thread is for the initiated, sorry. |

Donmarrius: My friend, don't sound as if the peoples General was authocratic.
DIGEST THIS,ESPECIALLY NUMBER ONE;
1. For some time now, you and I have been discussing the circumstances that have led to the current and inevitable disintegration of what was the Federation of Nigeria. We have been fully convinced that the aim of the Hausa/Fulani complex has ever been, and will ever remain, the total domination of every other part of what was known as the Federation of Nigeria. It is impossible to forget that the crisis which led to the army take over in January 1966, the coup of the Northern soldiers led by Gowon in July 1966, the wholesale and indiscriminate massacre of the people of what is now Biafra- and, to a less degree, the people of the Mid- West and West, including the Yorubas, were all the direct result of Hausa/Fulani attempt to subjugate and use as tools, the gallant people of Western Nigeria namely the Yorubas. We do not need to remind ourselves of the heavy losses in life and property suffered by the Yoruba people in their fight for justice and freedom during 1965. 2. Sharing.our belief that the people of Yorubaland have a right to live a life of equality and self-respect and justice free of domination and dictatorship from any quarter, you have both identified with the cause of the Biafra struggle for survival and expressed your determination to see the people of Yorubaland freed from Hausa/Fulani domination. We, the people of Biafra, for our part are willing and have decided to give you and the people of Yorubaland every assistance to achieve your aim. Trash |

Ojukwu's demand was not correct
If I were him, I will tell Banjo to get to the West, train and equip yorubas on modern warfare, after which , he should send back Biafran soldiers once he is sure Odua can be defended .
He should have allowed Yorubas determine their fate
As a true Biafra who believes in truth no matter who is wrong.

FolarinLondon: Why can't you guys be honest for once and deal with other people's issue with open mind, impartiality and fairness? Can Biafra accept these stupid conditions from less populated region(from Ijaw as a typical example)? I presumed No. So why on earth do you expect a reasonable Yoruba to sell his destiny for a plate of rice.
Thank God we didn't accept these stupid conditions.
Hausa/Fulanis are not the problems of Nigeria. Having taking my time to look into Nigeria history, my conclusion is that Igbo is d problem. I don't want to start any unreasonable argument/debate with you online; I am willing and ready to present my fact and findings on Nairaland instead of arguing blindly and of course you r equally welcome to present your own facts as regards Nigeria history; where it all started, where we got it wrong and still getting wrong...... Dont bother yourself. It takes only seasoned and enlightened minds to admit an error and display honesty and transparency devoid of ethnic sentiment on issues and Igbos/Ibos, whatever they call themselves, are not made of such stuff. Augueing with an Ibo over Nigeria/Yoruba issue is like a science professor trying to explain the law of gravity to a 5 year-old kid. For instance, what do you make of a people who enjoy unfettered freedom in the SW, given a commissionership in Lagos State ( the same privileges they deny others in their domain) and still complain of marginalisation ? They murdered peace through tribal bigotry by slaughtering leaders of other regions except their own. In other words, Ifeajuna betrayed the agreed course of the coupists by treachery. But the same people will turn round to accuse the Yoruba of treachery. Finally, Ironsi killed true federalism by fiat thinking he and his Ibo stock would be able to subjugate other regions. They are a people to be loathed and kept at arm's length. |

[/](ix) As soon as possible after your appointment as the Military Governor of Western Nigeria and separation of that territory from Nigeria, you and I must meet to discuss: (a) the duration of stay of Biafran troops in your territory; (b) the areas and subjects of cooperation between the liberated sovereign states of Western Nigeria, or by what name it may call itself, and Biafra. 4. I do not need to remind you that Biafra regards all Yoruba as friends. As such everything should be done, to ensure the minimum force and loss of life are involved in achieving the objective of liberation. 5. It is essential, in order to avoid misunderstanding or confusion, that all subsequent requests for support be formally made to me by you in writing. 6. Will you please signify in writing, your acceptance of the above conditions so that you may leave for Western Nigeria and lead the army of liberation.[/b] This shows Ojukwu as a proud fool with expansionist tendencies. No worthy son of Yoruba ancestry could've agreed to such buffoonry by Ojukwu. The letter indicates he was a bossy fellow too full of himself. Am seething to avenge the murder of Victor Banjo. |

South east apc members may have donated the chunk of buhari fund that doesn't mean it is the whole south east that supports buhari. The same way some people erroneously see the SW as being entirely APC or Tinubu's fans which is far from the truth. I keep telling people that the presidential results from the SW may give APC leaders a nightmare. Whether people admit it or not, there is something about the SW vis-a-vis elections that is uniquely peculiar compared to other regions. The voting pattern in 2015 may be a repeat of 2011. |

Nigeria is made of different ethnic groups!!
Lagos is YORUBALAND!!!!
That ethnic homogeneity you talk about is only possible because YORUBAS are welcoming and give your iboe people a chance to escape poverty . As always, you iboes will take people for fools and have declared Lagos as no man's land which is bullshiiite.
Iboes are immigrants in Lagos and all Yorubaland. U are here because we welcome u and let u live peacefully and have a life you would not have in your village

Justcash: Ewwww, you sound so pained and frustrated. Tone down your insults, you can really make your point without using abusive words.
Are you suggesting that the aim of IGBOS to partake in the governance of Lagos state is wrong? Why? Are Igbos not Nigerians? How do you know that you will not be given an opportunity to partake in politics in South Eastern states? Have you tried?
I think we should be clear about what we want as Nigerians. A United Nigeria means that NIGERIANS must be free to live and partake in the Nigerian project from any state they choose. Lagos state, by virtue of history, happens to be a good example of Nigerianness. If it is only Yorubas that must lead in Lagos state, which is not befitting for a cosmopolitan NIGERIAN city, then we must start to question what being a Nigerian means?
You need to cool down. You sound hypertensive. Why not disabuse your mind about this Nigerian project so that you can reason better ? How long will it take you to get it into your skull that the Yoruba is not desperate for a united or one Nigeria, never mind the likes of the illegitimate Obasanjo who is obsessed with that project simply because he is aware of his non-relevance amongst the Yoruba who see and treat him like an outcast that he is. |

Whom the gods want to destroy they first make mad. Left for me, i pray for the opportunity to revenge the murder of Victor Banjo by the Ibo. Let them keep digging for their waterloo. Justcash: Lagos is ripe for advanced political reasoning and multi-ethnic governance. Lagos state is miles ahead of other states in Nigeria. Many Nigerians from other ethnic groups are more Lagosian than their original ethnic group. The state should lead the way in showing other states the beauty of multi-ethnic governance in Nigeria.
All these ethno-religious considerations impede the unity and progress of Nigeria. The minds of the new generation is corrupted by such considerations. In Lagos, kids are born together and mix up with eachother in playgrounds, school, churches and mosques without caring about ethnicity. It is only the grounded TRIBALISTIC social system that separates them and causes strife, suspicion and ethnic hatred as soon as they evolve into adulthood.
If we are indeed NIGERIANS, we should be seen as being Nigerian first before being Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Efik, Urhobo, Tiv etc. Lagos, as a cosmopolitan city, must lead the way. Take your sermon to the SE first, your reasoning is against logic. |
