Case in point, i served in AK during OBJ election in 1999, the indigenes shared money for NYSC covering election to rig. I refused to collect money. I refused, the guy transported me to my polling booth (about 1.5 hr drive away from the central spot) as i requested since INEC dropped us all at a central location with a TATA truck. The Policeman attached to me collected his share and told me if i don't collect he will leave me and run when wahala starts, at the end one of them snattched the forms from me and completed it. I told him to take it to INEC himself. Anyways, when i was dropped off, i still refuse to collect money at the end. the guy that completed the form forcefully pushed money into my pocket, saying the same thing all along, is your father "Filaye"? (Olu Falae) or is your father "Obasonjooor" ol boy u need am. now when i was entering the bus, the guy that drove me to the location did the same and the initial guy was telling him he already did and he said no problem and equally pushed money into my pocket. We were in the bus and guys were jubilating and comparing how much each made. Anyways, at INEC when i reported it they did not care at all, i knew if i reported the =N=, it will go to the guys pocket. I did not even count the =N=, it was wad of 20's, on Friday i dropped it off for some beggars at the Uyo central mosque cos i just could not imagine myself touching it. Its how i was raised, and also FYI, all through NYSC, i could not afford to buy meat cos it was expensive all i ate was titus fish..........
