FashionHow To Fight Dry Facial Skin by PerfectBlend(op): 9:26am On Dec 08, 2012
One of the problems with dry skin is that it tightens and flushes after washing. In order to avoid this, you will have to give your skin some extra care and also reduce its contact with water.

In the mornings, don't wash your face with soap, instead use cleansing lotion and rinse it with water. Though some people have a relationship with soaps so if you must, don't use anything harsh wink. Next, apply non-alcohol tonic lotion and a moisturizer rich in vitamins A and E.

The skin will need more hydration during the day, so for this purpose, if you don't mind re-touching your makeup a few times, spray a couple of times with mineral water in a spray bottle.
In the evening, after taking down your makeup with cleansing lotion, you should complete the cleaning procedure with tonic lotion for dry skin. Two hours before going to bed, treat your skin with a nourishing cream containing liposomes.

Once a week you can use homemade or store-bought masks specially designed for dry skin.
These procedures will help improve your skin and give it radiance.

That's it on "How To Fight Dry Facial Skin". Thanks for reading and please ask Questions if you need to smiley

FashionHow To Apply Blush Without Looking Flushed 2 by PerfectBlend(op): 5:22am On Oct 06, 2012
Hi people, I’m sure the first part of this post has been well digested and I’m hoping most of You have purchased the best blush type to suit Your skin tone.

To apply Your blush, You want to make sure You have the right applicators which are the blush brush for powder blush and the sponge for cream and gel blushes. A quality blush brush is the best choice, never use a small, cheap brush. If you do, You’ll have a cheap looking result. Avoid makeshift items such as cotton wool balls or powder puffs as these do not work well with the pigment in the blush.

BLUSH APPLICATION FOR DIFFERENT FACE SHAPES
No matter what colour of blush You are applying, Your face shape should always be a guide for application. You don’t want to apply the blush on the wrong angle just because someone else applied theirs there.

We have different face shapes, for some of us that aren’t aware but the most common are the Oval, Round, square and Oblong face.
First things first, identify the kind of face You have by pinning Your hair to the back in front of a mirror and take note of all the angles and also where Your cheek bone is located.

Oval Face:- This face type typically does not need any contouring at all since the natural slope of the face already provides a perfect plane to apply blush. For a natural look, apply blush onto the apples of your cheeks for a healthy glow. If you are going out at night, add slightly more blush to the bridge of your nose for extra colour.

Square Face:- For this face shape, soften the angles of cheeks by concentrating the brighter colour of the blush on the apples of the cheeks, then sweep the colour straight out towards your temples. This will give your face a natural lift. If you want to round the corners of your jawline, lightly dust some blush from your chin to just below your ears.

Round Face:- Start applying blush to the area just above the apples of your cheeks and slightly blend forward to thin the face. Make sure not to get blush too close to your nose, otherwise, the extra colour will highlight the rounded area of the cheeks. Next, dust the contour shade just below the cheekbone down to the jawline and blend the colour so it looks natural.

Oblong Face:- To create the illusion of width on a long-shaped face, apply blush to the apples of the cheeks and extend the colour outward towards your ears. Next, sweep your blush across the middle of your forehead and along your chin line.

EXTRA TIPS
- Prior to application, provide for a well lit space when adding your blush. Consider obtaining a lighted makeup mirror which will help emphasise your features and clarify what you are doing.
- If you’re planning to wear full makeup, don’t apply blush until the rest of your face is complete.
- If you’re using a powder, lightly sweep a medium-sized fluffy brush through the blush and then tap it to remove any excess. If you’re using a cream or gel, dab a little on your ring finger before applying to the face.
- Start with just a little blush. It’s easier to add more to your face than to take off too much of it.
- Do a fish face, and apply the blush. This helps you find the apple of your cheeks. Don’t smile, that’ll bring your cheeks up, and can make your blush too low
- The apples are the round rises where you naturally flush, as shown where the models blush is resting.
- Apply the blush to the centre of the apple on one side of your face, blending the colour along your cheekbone. If you’re using a cream or gel, dot the colour first, then use your finger or a makeup sponge to blend it in. For the most natural look, always concentrate the colour on the apples of your cheeks and blend well. And before blending, always dust off the excess to avoid excessively rosy cheeks.
- If you accidentally apply too much powdered blush, cover it with translucent powder to tame the colour. Excess cream can be blotted with a tissue. If you overdo it with a gel, wash it off and reapply sparingly.
- At the end of your blush application, dust your face with a translucent powder to set your new look. The translucent powder brings inner warmth into the cheeks.

…..and that’s it on blush application, I hope I was of great help to those of You having issues with applying blush The pictures below should also help as a template when You’re trying out the application. Thanks a lot for reading through, please leave a comment and also ask questions on anything you don’t understand and I’ll be glad to explain better.

FashionHow To Apply Blush Without Looking Flushed 1 by PerfectBlend(op): 12:02am On Oct 04, 2012
Blush application is one major makeup technique I find amusing because it leaves lots of ladies looking flushed instead. To flush is to become markedly red in the face and other areas of the skin. Its distinguished from blushing which is usually mild and restricted to the face and cheeks. so I’m going to give a few tips on how to apply blush without looking scary.

Blush helps to make your beautiful face glow. Application is fairly straightforward but it’s important to get it right to avoid over doing the look.
There are a few things to consider when buying the perfect blush to suit you and they are; Your skin type, Your skin tone and the shape of Your face.

For most women, their skin is either oily or dry and as the makeup rule says…. “Your skin type determines the kind of makeup You buy”. This also applies to the blush.
We have the Powder blush, Cream blush and the Gel blush. For obvious reasons, if Your skin is oily its best You stick to the powder and gel blush and the cream blush for people with normal to dry skin.

When choosing the colour of blush that’ll best suit your skin tone, it’s best to select a colour that will accent your existing best facial features and that won’t stand out too much.
Bright red may not look great on a pale person but would be terrific on a bronzed brown skin tone. If you’re pale/light skinned, try a soft pink colour or something with a little tan or brown and for dark skinned ladies, dark pink/fuschia, brown and red will do the trick.
*It is suggested that to select the right colour of blush, make a fist for about ten seconds and the resulting colour on your fingers is the colour that you want to match.

With the few tips I’ve provided, I’m sure it’ll be easy to pick out the best blush type and shade that’ll suit our skin tone. The application process is the most important part because I will have to explain based on each face shape and that will take a lot of reading if I’m to include it in this same post, so I’ll save that till we are able to digest this
Thanks for following my blog and please don’t forget to always leave a comment. Ask questions on anything You don’t understand and I’ll be glad to respond to all Your comments.

Since you already have full eyebrows, they should be easy to groom. All you need to do is get accustomed to ur eyebrow shape and try to follow some of the steps I listed. It really would save u a whole lot more.

*Kails*:
excellent thread!

my eyebrows are shaped like the first one naturally.
its not hairy but at times it looks untamed.

i am terrified of shaping it myself so i get them waxed every two weeks.
i want to learn to do it myself to save me the 8 bucks grin grin

Wondering how to get those perfect brows without so much help from your local beauty salon? Well, I’ve got some easy steps to help you groom your brows yourself but with a steady hand and a well sharpened eye pencil or eyebrow filler.

The most important part of grooming your eyebrows is getting rid of excess hair to get the right brow shape. Everyone already has a perfect outline/arch to fit their face and eye shape but lots of ladies want a different arch just because it looks good on their favourite celebrity or friend, forgetting that it might not fit them.

The first step towards achieving properly groomed brows is getting unwanted hair off. You need a sharp brow blade, since your arc starts from where the brow bone is (B angle in the picture below), raise lightly from the top with your finger and trim the hair just below it to bring out the shape of the arc. After doing this, if the front angle is too full (for those with full eyebrows), trim a little from below to measure up to the arch.

FILLING IN THE BROWS
- The first thing I tell people is to get the right shade of pencil which is usually brown but in varying shades depending on your hair colour.
- Never ever use a black pencil except you’re extremely dark skinned with very black hair.
- Also, avoid using colours like green, blue, purple, pink and other beautiful colours for your eyebrows like some of our sisters do. Reserve them for your eyes and shadow pallets.
- Your eye pencil should be a shade lighter than your eyebrows.
- Try not to over shade or draw heavy strokes while lining your brows.
- Sharpen your eye pencil properly before use because blunt pencils will give you a pasted/painted appearance.
- Starting from below your brows draw a line carefully as shown in the diagram above from angles A to C, repeating d process on the upper brow.
- Using d side of your eye pencil, fill the middle of your brows lightly by shading till your eyebrow is properly covered.

* Lastly, for people with really full eyebrows, instead of using a pencil to fill your brows, you can always use a powder eyebrow filler or eye shadow that is a shade lighter than your eyebrows just so your brows wouldn’t look too thick or “over shaded”.

FashionRe: Vintage Red Lipstick? Naaa! I’ll Rather Be “sun Kissed” This season by PerfectBlend(op): 9:12pm On Aug 24, 2012
Well guys, its a look to die for. I've included a few ways to apply it but to spice up the orange especially for people who aren't so sure they can pull off the look, line ur lips with a red lip pencil, tone it down with a little pink matte lipstick before applying your orange lipstick. Trust me, you'll get a rich and beautiful shade of orange afterwardswink
FashionVintage Red Lipstick? Naaa! I’ll Rather Be “sun Kissed” This season by PerfectBlend(op): 10:38am On Aug 23, 2012
Its no news that the orange lipstick hit the runway a while back and lots of ladies now wear it fashionably. As the classic red lipstick sold out and the look pulled off by lots of ladies, so is the orange gonna last for a while but the trick is right application.

Wondering how on earth you’re going to pull off this hot new “sun kissed” trend? Well, you are lucky because orange flatters every skin tone so u don’t have to worry about finding the right shade. There are so many shades of orange to choose from but I like to keep it simple by streamlining it to either light, medium or dark shades.

Dark shades for light skinned ladies and the lighter shades for dark skinned ladies but who says you can’t just try out any of the shades to get that one that suits you best since either light or dark skinned, our hues are still different.

BEST WAYS TO WEAR IT
The best way to wear the orange lipstick without looking funny is by toning down your eye colour. Its either u go without eye makeup or just wear your shadows in tan, browns and gold with a little dark eye liner(preferably black) and mascara.

Keep your cloths on a low down also. No flattery colours or “blocking” while you have orange lips on, if not you’ll look painted all over….. You don’t want people going blind from too many colours flashing in their eyes when they look at you. We already have enough of that from the colour blocking craze going on now
Also, blush loving people should please take note; No high pigment colour should be pasted on your cheeks. If you must accentuate your cheekbones, please stick to bronzers and blush colours that are a shade or two darker than your natural skin.

The red lipstick has always been know to create the vintage/pin up girl look, the same goes for the sun kissed lips too. Let the only bright colour on your face be on your lips as orange goes better with shades or brown.

I’ve tried out the orange lip colour a couple of times and I’m ready to rock it almost everyday as long as my lip brush doesn’t complain…so beautiful ladies, next time you go makeup shopping make sure you pickup your own orange stick and if you have a problem applying it and you need more tips, just let me know
Thanks for reading and I hope to receive loads of comments from you’ll.... Mojisola of Perfect Blend.
