There still seems to be some discomfort between legendary rapper Modenine and some indigenous rappers in the country after some jibes were thrown at each in some tracks.
Reminisce had featured Olamide and Phyno on his controversial hit single titled ‘Local Rappers,’ which part of its lyrics indicated that ‘punchlines don’t bring in the money anymore.’

It is believed that this song was an attack on Rapper, Modenine and MI, who rap more in English with the use of Punchlines. But Modenine, has laughed over this stating that the rappers were just clowning around.

“It’s a lovely song, when I heard it I felt it was a satire meant to ruffle some feathers though but it cannot be directed at artistes who still use punchlines in their raps.

“We all know that punchlines still and will forever bring in the money. Because if you check advertising, you will find out that the payoffs, the punchlines are always there and that brings a lot of money. Punchlines bring in the money. I like the song, but seriously, I know they were just clowning around,”he told Hiptv.

President Mohamadu Buhari may have, so far, given the clearest preview of his blueprint for the revival and sustenance of inclusive growth of the Nigerian economy, in a recent interview with a French media house, in Paris. Buhari’s observation on the Nigerian currency was that “the naira has been devalued, as it used to be around N140/$ and now it is hovering around N200/$ and above”. Consequently, the President cautioned that “I don’t think it is healthy for us to have the Naira further devalued”. Furthermore, PMB explained that, “we are therefore getting the Central Bank to make modifications in terms of foreign exchange availability for essential industries, spare parts, essential raw materials and so on, while liberal access to “CBN’s depleting forex reserves” will be denied to importers of such things like toothpick and rice for which Nigeria has adequate capacity”. The President therefore concluded that “we don’t need to give our hard earned currency for that, but those who insist on toothpick from Europe or from China, instead of using Nigerian toothpick, they can go and source their (own) foreign exchange”. What is clearly evident from the above narrative, is Buhari’s firm endorsement of the CBN Governor’s recent steps to reduce pressure of dollar demand on ‘CBN’s reserves’ and Naira exchange rate’.

Shortly after the release of the rapper's third album on
Friday, May 29, 2015, the Owambe singer took to his
Instagram and Twitter accounts to warn bloggers to desist
from allowing free downloads of his songs.
'The same way alaba finished this market and we couldn't
sell cds anymore , chicken bloggers should learn the ethics
of there job, NO piracy!’ he tweeted.
He said that he has authorized top online music websites for
